If you ever come over to Ireland, i`ve got a nice patio ready to be done with your name on it. Love seeing someone thats passionate about there job, great videos, learnt alot
Thank you Andrew so kind I am in Ireland in March as It happens lol love the Irish people. Thank you Sir
Hi Johnny boy
Always a problem this making the lean mix to smooth as to stop adhesion for the Beeding for the patio? We try not to over smooth it and leave it rough to as not to bring the water up, but a good primer helps, 👍 yeah we had the clients dogs run out the door all over newdlly laid paving ( labradores) so not small dogs we could see them dip and had to take the up ahhhh yeah bridging is one to avoid, we French drain and use stone for just that reason mate, dig deep and narrow and make the falls in the paving work for you , planning is essential as you know don't just rush in 👍
👍 Hope your avoiding this weather pal and your all OK, speak soon, and take care 👍
Nice work & thanks for sharing. I’m planning to lay granite patio slabs 60x60. I’ve removed the existing patio slabs which was on dot & dab. May I ask please, is the ballast and cement ratio for a lean mix? Thanks
Thank you, the ratio is between 12 and 15 to one mate
So would you slurry mot sub base before laying lean mix onto it? Thank you for all the info !
Yes absolutely that would be belts & Braces
@@GreentopLandscapes thank You!
Just to confirm your lean mixes are 12:15:1
Being 12 (14-20MM agg) 15 grit sand and 1 OPC or similar at a semi dry S1 slump ?
Hi. I'm doing my own garden sandstone patio of 20sqm. I've compacted 50mm mot subbase type 1. Do I start laying my patio? Or do I need some other type of subase aswell? Cheers
sub base required Mohammed
Sometimes its so hard to try and explain these things to Customers without being rude a lot of the time they don't understand about drying times ect Especially this time of year when it's colder
Yeah so true
spot on
Hi Jonny thank you for this video. Could you please help me with the following questions Jonny,
1. What should be the minimum depth of the lean mix sub base?
2. Is ballast with 20mm good for the lean mix?
Hi Buddy easier if you called and I can explain
@@GreentopLandscapes hi Jonny I tried to call the number on the website and it went to voicemail. How do I contact you?
Hi Johnny loving the videos. Can you give advice on how to lay sleepers to create a flower border. My fence will be at the back of the border and it doesn’t run in a straight line. I was wondering how I make the sleepers look the same distance from the fence all the way along? Cheers
Happy to talk Buddy if you want to
@@GreentopLandscapes That would be great if you have the time. How do I contact you ?
07795595994 try later on about 7 buddy
Hi can you advise we are going to be laying porcelain slabs in my garden On hard clay that was compacted then we added Groundtex Woven Geo Fabric for stabilising and separating then added 4 inches of mot type 1 that has been compacted down now we just realised that the groundtex woven geo fabric doesn’t seem to let water filler though is that going to be a problem or is that ok we will be doing a 5 to 1 sharp sand to top of some mot ?
You need a stabilising fabric, also I think you should go a little deeper, so hard to see what you have done, more than happy to talk.
@@GreentopLandscapes thank you for replying, just 1 more quick question if we were to mix our own PQC to put on top of the mot how much ballast will we require? The area is 25 square meters we going to buy in bulk bags the 10mm ballast
