I love my Yaris. So reliable, very quick. I love that Toyota doesn't charge extra for safety. Many times I would look at other cars but I keep coming back to Toyota. It's a people's car really.
The GR Sport has more than sporty seats. It’s got the 130BHP engine with a torque increase of 30% over the car you drove. It has up rated stiffer suspension. A quicker steering rack. Stiffer body shell with extra bracing. It’s got the bigger entertainment screen, with voice control. Add on a city pack and things like rear warning alarms and other safety features is added in. So the GR Sport is more than an interior change. It’s got the same wheels as the GR being 18” 10 spoke wheels on low profile tyres. Is a half way house between the GR and excel Yaris. More reviews call it a warm hatch if not a hot one. It’s a very good car if you enjoy spirited driving and reasonably economy. It won’t beat the GR or Honda Civic Type R in a race but it will keep up with other lesser hatches on a twisty road.
TBH, when I look at the new Yaris and the Jazz ... both are pretty much the same in terms of power (both were refreshed with new engine and slightly different front grille in late 2023), same fuel consumption, same size category. IMHO, Jazz is a bit quieter with less disturbing "CVT noises" and bigger on the inside. The biggest difference is styling and theoretical reliability, that should be, even in the case of Jazz, pretty much excellent. Hard to pick one, I would personally pick Jazz (not the lifted Crosstar version), but it would be just because it feels more comfortable to drive, there is more room in the back and windows are enormous with excellent visibility.
Hey Thanks for your comment and feedback. I agree with you, and the Jazz is definitely bigger on the inside (and quieter). However, I think the Yaris is better looking and will retain its value better.
Sadly, Toyota discontinued the Yaris in the US (and Canada, but still sold in Mexico). Last model was the 2020 before the overhaul and the 3 cylinder engine. Just when they turned it into a fun little car.
Yep. The stupid market gave the middle-finger to those of us that wanted affordable, simple vehicles and focused only on large cars, SUV's and Trucks with Hybrid or All-Electric Engines. Here in Canada, a basic Honda Civic costs over 40K. It's the size of 2000's Accord and it's considered "Compact". Ridiculous.
Here it's 24k for the basic model. I have 21k Skoda fabia and 22k Ibiza Seat. And 22k Hyundai i20. But i started thinking about this now because of the high miles i do in the city. I rarely go out. And this one would be very economical. Very fuel efficient. Let's say this wasn't the case tho. What are your pick from these cars?

Greetings from Australia. I enjoyed your informative, no nonsense review. Could you make a short video highlight of the 2024/ 2025 Yaris Cross, with, I believe, not an ordinary cvt but an E-cvt? Thank you, 🥂
So the 208 is being burned because it’s French? That’s just plain BS. The interior of the 208 is pure art and lets you believe you drive a much bigger car. The Yaris is a solid reliable car, but the interior is plastic fantastic and just boring.
I guess you didn’t get the humour side of the comparison. BTW, I do love the 208, I think it’s cool and the designers were bold with it. I agree with you, the design of the Yaris is boring. The Yaris is a great car though
Dude as a mechanic who worked at Peugeot i have to tell you .. just shut up you French g@y. İt's just a shitty car comparing to any other car not just yaris.
Brilliant review - Short, funny and to the point.
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it ☺️

Good review. I'm watching this in November 2023 though, and It was said in the video "today, at the beginning of 2024". So it's a lie.
In Greece it means 3000 plus more money for the jazz... And the mpg is worse for the jazz...

That's a shame - its's a fantastic car

Loved the review! ...might be a stupid question but can i ask whats that green light on the right hand side of the dash do?
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it 🙏
Green lights on the dashboard mean the system is working correctly or is currently in use.

We've got one since last week and it is really brilliant. We still have to get used to all the safety equipment etc. though.
Brilliant! You’ll love this car - I do :)

The Yaris is a great car though
It's just that the 1.2 puretech is the most unreliable engine itw
I love French cars but the 1.2 engine although a great performer is totally flawed blowing up at low mileages because of the wet belt😊
Dude as a mechanic who worked at Peugeot i have to tell you .. just shut up you French g@y. İt's just a shitty car comparing to any other car not just yaris.
Just because is one of the most unreliable cars on the market, try to find a 4 years old and see how cheap is it comparing with yaris.
You’re funny bro 🤣
3-cilinder engine. To avoid at all cost.
Why? Genuinely curious
