In this video talk about whether or not the Fujifilm X-Pro 3 is still worth it in 2025, if we will see a Fujifilm X-Pro 4 soon, and how it compares to the Fujifilm X100VI. The Fujifilm X-Pro 1 and Fujifilm X-Pro 2 were both legendary, and since then there's been a huge increase in interest for fuji film cameras, but that means that cameras like the Fujifilm X100VI have been sold out and on back order for months. The Fuji xpro 3 is one of the only alternatives together with the Fuji X100V because of the hybrid viewfinder and Fujifilm film simulation recipes which have become super popular with cameras like the Fujifilm X-M5, Fujifilm X-T50, and Fujifilm X-T30. This video is my full review of the x-pro 3 with a loads of sample images and my verdict if it is still the best Fujifilm camera.

I‘d even argue that the x-pro 2 is the better model (if only because of the spacial range finder).

What's the deets on that? Haven't heard of there being much of a difference aside from internals between the x-pros. Been thinking about grabbing a cheaper x-pro 1 but the 2 is a possibility

X-PRO3’s OVF cannot cover focal lengths wider than 23mm. PRO2 can cover 14mm (?) up to 30mm(?) then the zoom lens in the OVF pops in to cover 35mm onwards

@@shira_yone ohh not just the frame lines changing size? That's so cool. I'll have to keep it on my radar a bit more.
Have an a6000 I got from work, but I really don't like the EVF experience on it compared to my film camera OVFs. And using the screen just feels like using my phone, soooo.

@@F6FHellcat5 indeed! X-Pro2 is considered to be the best one by many thanks to this.
Although personally if I could ever get an X-Pro in my hand, I want the X-Pro3 for that waist-level viewfinder style LCD.

I recently started (re)using my x-pro 2, and i love it ! :D I got the Graphite Edition, it's absolutly gorgeous. Older than the 3 version, with all the downside that it may bring shooting with an older camera, but who cares. Still a great choice if the x-pro 3 is too pricy.

5 years old.....Wow. It is positively ancien!. What people don't realise is the fact that many of the perceived improvements in new models of cameras have already been developed but not put into the latest model. After all, camera manufacturers have to have some changes :up their sleeve" to keep the punters interested. My 10 year old camera still does exactly what I want it to.

The shooting experience with the hybrid viewfinder is probably a lot of fun but the insides are pretty much a X-T3 that you can pick up for a third of the price on the used market, right?

I don't hate the X-Pro3... I'd even love it, if only it wasn't full of weird decisions, and if the X-Pro2 didn't exist.
See, the X-Pro line of cameras is to me the pinnacle of Fujifilm masterful design decisions when it comes to user experience. On the X-Pro1, it was unfinished. On the X-Pro2, it was massively improved, almost touching perfection and then the X-Pro3... took a step back? Don't get me wrong, I don't think the X-Pro3 is unusable or anything, but I often feel like there were so many avoidable things wit this camera...
... the first thing is obviously the back screen. I mean sure, use the viewfinder, that's what the X-Pro is made for, blah blah, but honestly, I often feel like they kind of forgot cameras were meant to be tools at some point. I can deal with a tool not being perfect for the job as long as it does it, and that's why I'm okay with a fixed back screen on a camera. On the X-Pro3 though? It actively gets in my way when I don't need anything to get in my way. On top of that, it adds another failure point which proved to be quite a problem for Fujifilm, as the ribbon cable of the abck screen has an history of simply failing after a couple of years of opening the screen over and over.
Second thing is Fujifilm's obsession with removing the D-Pad on all their cameras. I can understand it on cameras like the X-T30, X-S series, or the X-E cameras. But the X-Pro? That camera is HUGE compared to those, there is plenty of room for the D-Pad AND the joystick (in fact, on the X-Pro2 it's a very comfortable fit), but they still decided to remove it, forcing you to rely on touche gestures for functions buttons... on a screen that's always closed ! While on the X-Pro 2 you could reprogram the D-Pad for additional stuff.
Third is the fact that they use Titanium : I have no idea why they did it. Magnesium allow is about as strong, cheaper and works better if you want to do a coating on it (I'll touch on that later). It's kind of like Fujifilm realized that they didn't have anything going for the X-Pro3, as the spec sheet upgrade was mostly for video specs, and you just don't shoot video with an X-Pro3, so X-Pro2 users wouldn't feel compelled to upgrade : unless you make it a collector item, giving it a titanium shell !
Last offender on the list, and probably the biggest one to me is that Fujifilm abandoned the signature double magnification viewfinder of the previous two X-Pro cameras in favor of the slightly larger, but made for a single focal length finder of the X100V. That means that shooting with the OVF with longer lenses is straight up useless, and for a camera that incentivize to come back to the roots of photography, being forced to snap in the EVF instead of using the nice OVF because the magnification is whack really isn't great.
To add insult to injury, if the X-Pro2 is kinda overpriced (being around 1000€), the X-Pro3 is straight up insanity (being about twice as expensive) for not much more in terms of specs... 2 more mega pixels, basically same IQ, slightly faster AF and a couple more film sims. Yay.
If you want the best looking Fujifilm camera EVER, that has everything an X-Pro camera should have, and performs basically the same with basically the same images : get a Graphite X-Pro2. It's about 300€ more expensive than a regular black X-Pro2, which makes it about 700€ cheaper than an X-Pro3 ! And it's better looking, not having all those ugly smudges on the duracoat after 10 minutes like the X-Pro3 does.
In a vacuum, the X-Pro3 is great. Once you factor the X-Pro2 in the picture... meh. To me the X-Pro2 is the best X-Pro camera ever made, and that's NOT a close call with the X-Pro3. I'll happily let people that want that camera fight to the death to get one, that allowed me to snag a like new X-Pro2 in box for 750€ last year.
And if you're not about the hybrid viewfinder? An X-T3 and X-T2 will demolish both the Pro3 and Pro2 in terms of capabilities while being half as expensive (or less). Fujifilm is a crazy world sometimes :D

    There is no perfect camera.
An interesting alternative to the XPRO is the XE series. Basicly a XPRO body without the expensive view finder. I own the XPRO3. For some reason I find myself using the XT30 more. Probably due to the smaller size and less weight.
