- In preparation for Beyond Light coming soon, I wanted to make a quick video showing the process I used to quickly clean out my vault to make room for new loot. In the video I show some clever ways to use Destiny Item Manager (DIM) to make your life easy!

Funny how I was actually clearing up my vault (I was getting up to 450/500 with my hunter alone) right before this video, and finished right before too. That's some big synchro here.

SoTP and menagerie armor are some of my favorites, wish they would just automatically make them ornaments.

Honestly at this point I’d pay for it.
Another tip: when looking at weapons, ask yourself... “Am I gonna use this roll?” I kept 4 copies of Whispering Slab, each with their own perk combos, only to stop and go “wait, I’m only gonna use the Hip Fire Grip and Vorpal Weapon, or the Archer’s Tempo with Swashbuckler.”

Did this already but was strict on myself, deleted anything and everything that wasn't from season of arrivals (minus exotics) been one heck of a grind finding new load outs and armor sets master worked

@@bradleycurtis1498 yea I hear ya some of my armor was freaking the perfect rolls had a whole set up that made triple 100 stats though I was golden for awhile but nooooo it all gets sunset next season smh but the plan for me is to farm the iron banner every other season to get current armor to stay on par or ahead of the sunset situation. Weapons on the other hand just gonna have to use what they give out and just cycle them threw but pairing weapons with exotics has been working for me for now especially since I'm trying to get my bow game up been manning lemore and forward path / or lonesome mostly

Same,I’ve kept my better devils from y1 jus because it has 14k kills on it. More than any other MW I own and I haven’t touched that thing in almost 2 years.
Well, seems as though bungie is going to be forcibly removing a lot of those sentimental items. Lame....

I keep hoarding stuff thinking,”one day...this is gonna be the sliced bread of guns” and holy shit has it not paid off. The plus I like to keep at least 1 of every legendary in the game. For science
It's paid off for me! Over 5 guns have turned out to be later regarded as God rolls.
And when the meta shift I already had a God roll in the right meta vain. Pulse rifle, hand cannon, shotty, rocks
I’ve been using dim for about a month now and the filters you showed are gonna help me clean out my vault a bit better
Great video patty! Another useful filter i learned yesterday was you can highlight armour within a particular stat range for either stat total or a particular stat. For example basestat:total:

5:04 I've heard a lot of RUclipsrs say this, but while it's a good rule of thumb, it's got a very notable exception: when you get two 20's but it's a 50 something total roll. I've gotten multiple 20ish in two categories, but overall aren't high stat rolls, often around 55-58ish.
Conversely for me, I'm sick of the seasonal armor included in the pass that's an exact copy of the season before it in term of stat distribution, so I end up usually just deleting last seasons and MW'ing the new one that'll drop regularly.
Lastly, I'll take a 50 something roll with two high stats in critical categories over a mid 60's with everything between 8-14 all the way down the roll. You can get those everywhere, and they end up giving you builds with pretty much all 50's and 60's but nothing higher unless you add a bunch of general armor mods. If you do that then you're sacrificing resist and dampener mods, so that's a thing to consider for higher level content.
This was a pretty useful vid, I have a vault with 498/500 and full slots on my characters. I keep a bunch of armors for some that I may use or for transmog, also I try to keep weapons of most archetypes that may be good. The first thing I might clear out is a bunch of night watch scouts I have.
What do you mean for transmog? Like for armor that isn't yet able to be transmogged so you're hanging onto it until that happens?

It was confirmed in a interview with luke smith today that u can transmog from collections, so u can delete all those
I just want to say as a returning player this video was super helpful and thank you for this. I think that these sites make it super easy for someone to come back and get reinvested into the game. I never knew alot of this stuff playing before but now I think I can actually have a chance of being able to come back and not feel overwhelmed by the amount of content thats here. Yeah I’m just gonna say that’s the biggest giantess most gargantuan problem in destiny two as far as creativity or even use of the brain whatsoever. And it’s only ever increasing.
I used to logon and try a new spec every day and it would be fun it’ll be a blast and you’d run into other people in the crucible doing the same thing, wild, all types of nonsense things... now, you log onto the current streamers vid download their auto apply what’s it and then every single person you see has the exact same thing.
And it’s instant too, I’m talking about not days not hours I’m talking minutes after a top streamer post some new build brainless people just put it on Then act like there some sort of walking god mode. Generally they are. They didn’t find what worked they didn’t find what didn’t work they just put on option a.
For instance, the Antaeus Wards. I use these for years and never once saw anyone use them. An exaggeration, I’m sure, but If I was in the crucible and saw somebody using it was almost like seeing A distant buddy on the highway life. You give them a wave and move on and say cool choice bro and keep on Truckin. Then, some overexuberant streamer posted that this was the new meta-god build whatever and then you login and you go up against a whole team of Titans with reflective boots. Come on man. I know you the reader and everyone else here is way more creative than that but alas here we are staring at an entire team of reflecto boots...
Yes, absolutely hands-down the streamers do help, tremendously at times. But they are just calling out their normal every day gameplay. This is stuff that people should be doing on their own not applying some damn cookie cutter BS.
Gamers should be getting the information that they need so they can make informative decisions on what they would like to play for their play style.
Now and seeing around corners it’s more and more looking like the only variant is going to be do you want a red shader or or a blue shader...
But then again this could all be me I love to learn I love to find out new things I don’t like to do what others are doing I don’t like to be cookie-cutter I never knew what a “meta” was until the season to be honest. I just don’t see how that brainless non-creative application of something that may or may not even apply to how the gamer likes to play is in anyway fun. I don’t know maybe people don’t play games for fun anymore maybe they play it because it’s all they have and it’s a power trip so they have to use whatever everyone else is using because they don’t wanna be left behind but you know what when all the lemmings are falling to their death off the cliff I’ll be happy to be behind them.

Need to refresh my vault space as I've found some pieces of sick armor I'm keeping around, so I can turn it into ornaments in the future. For this reason I'm spending my time doing LW raid to collect that sick hunt hunter armor as well as Forges and Scourge. Fashion is the real D2 end game!

Regarding the inventory items becoming deprecated. I hope they specify exactly what their thoughts/plans are regarding the 'leaving planet mats" Will they auto-turn into glimmer? Will the be useless? Info about the Armor Ornament system would also be huge(does it need to be in vault/toon or is in the collections good enough)

I had a few exotics and golf balls 😭and I lost them because the post master this video definitely helped 😀
One filter that can help too is not:randomroll , it will show you all items that doesn't have random rolls and should be reacquirable. For safety reasons I always check if I can actually really reobtain it from Collection, but it helped dismantling things I am sure to be able to get again if needed and that doesn't need to sit in my vault.

First things I'd like to see is new stasis subclass tests in pvp for efficiency and utility. Good counter classes, which old subclasses are bad, etc. That's what I'm most interested in.

@@markshupe266 Yes, I know I don't know how it would be in the new meta. However, I do know which perks I like more than others, so I base my decisions off of that. And i guess whatever light.gg shows.
Suggestion: I'm curious about changes to Scouts. For example will Skyburners Oath suddenly become viable or the Patrons I've been hoarding, improve. I love my 140 HC's but scouts are very satisfying well.

What if you have exotic guns and armor but it is at 1600. Should I infused them with other guns and armors and make them better or should I get rid of them. Also I have a lot of blue guns and armor as well in my vault. I don’t know what to do. I tried to look on RUclips but that does not help.
PS: I came back after not playing for a while and I don’t even know what to do.
I don’t delete some armor pieces cause I don’t know how transmog is going to work so I keeep them
my problem isn't with weapons so much as it is armor. I like to keep original raid sets, dreaming city gear, etc. It's just cool to be able to bust out from time to time. I know it would save me tons of space to get rid of them.

I've been balancing at 490 items in my Vault for almost a Year now! Removing a couple to place some in lol. I dont wana get rid of my fav old weapons it isnt fair!!
I don't delete any sunsetted gear in my vault. I think in the far future it could he very rare and good to use in just regular PvP(not light based) and I have a lot of god roll sunsetted weapons like my mindbenders and a few spare rations.

I did keep year 1/year 2 items with reserves mods.
Several Destiny 1 players deleted old yr1 guns back in the day. Then a few of them ended up being absolute beasts thru buffs to the archetype. Now we are all like nah son I might need that in 4 years 🤦♂️
LOL that's exactly why I'm so slow to delete. I had a literal god roll Supremacy from the queens event in early vanilla D1 and had no idea how valuable it was until I deleted it back then since our vault space was so limited 😂
Making me go back through my Vault makes me tear up. I just started d2 in April with my buddy and so many of the weapons I love are going to be useless or I dismantled before I knew what sunsetting meant like my misfit. In these past few months I have made so many memories with these guns and I am truly going to miss the ones I get rid of...

So... i have armor from year 1&2 where you did the mods for the perks. Is there any reason for me to hang on to these besides the fact some of them are unobtainable now?
I’ve finally deleted all of those, I don’t see why you’d really need them anymore except for testing things like paragon mods
I got out of the hamster wheel of destiny.. So glad I did. My vault is still full but it's staying that way because I don't plan on coming back lol
I think a how to mod guide would be used even if it’s a basic one that goes overs key mods for each class
Im thinking of coming back to the game. I looked online but can’t a for sure answer. If I buy destiny 2 deluxe edition, will that let me play all the current stuff. Trials, gambit, raids, nightfalls, dungeons? Etc. I stopped playing at forsaken. Does deluxe edition include beyond light?

Pattycakes I was thinking about getting truthteller but then I got martyrs retribution god roll, is it worth going after truthteller or just stay with martyr retribution
Truth teller is amazing I have 5 masterworked and I know Grenade Launchers ...being a Fighting Lion main! Get god rolled versions of both but focus on Truthteller because you should have been milking that recasted for the 2-3 martyr god rolls. Truthteller is pure RNG
is 1060 sunset stuff worth keeping? I have stuff from the calus raids and the forge. I don't think I will ever use it but the guns look cool. hmmm...

Does anyone know if the seventh seraph shotgun is being sunset? I was looking through my vault and saw I had one with quick draw and verpal weapon with a range masterwork and its awesome
Its 1310 light so will not sunset until end of season 13. If you check the weapon in DIM at the top it states power limit with season

Don't forget about transmogrification that bungie announced. Keep the good looking armor you like and you won't be able to buy in your collection

Best way is running nightfalls, you can even run the ones that allow matchmaking and get materials to masterwork items

Other tip: delete any exotic weapon UNLESS it has EXACTLY 69420 enemies defeated on it because you can always get them from collections for basically free and 69420 is just worth keeping
My vaults been full for years its honestly a little stupid they don't give you more space or have separate vaults for each character
my vault is such a mess, i got like 5-6 of the same exotics in my vault, bc im too lazy to open the destiny app to get it out of the vault, so i pull them out of the collections, and then i put them in the vault, what's wrong with me lmao

Just a thought, if you are unsure about dismantling some stuff, wait until beyond light drops when we have the whole sandbox update. Don't miss out on a potential godroll unnecessarily!
Pattycakes there are also curated "wishlists" that are done by the Massive Breakdown guys that are really useful in finding really good PVP and PVE rolls. You have to load a big text file into DIM but I have found that it is really useful in deciding which rolls to keep and which rolls to shard as they go into more depth than what is shown on Light.gg. I believe that DIM now has a direct link button that you can click on that will instantly load it.

@@grendelrisen4510 I'm holding all gear that cant be pulled from collections that i can. This includes the 2 class items not in the collections.
If you log in and link your account to light.gg it will show you exactly what rolls you have in your vault and highlight them in the colours accordingly.
I would love to use light.gg, but unfortunately the website is totally broken on iOS and just keeps reloading over and over :-(
Armor is the hardest for me to delete 😢 So many cool, unique looking pieces that I have but they have very low stats and/or will be sunset. Why can’t they all just become ornaments???? Once unlocked you can equip it as an equivalent ornament! Also, wish we could time stamp a specific weapon roll we have and replace the boring vanilla collections roll with it. Collections doesn’t even allow you to pull some weapons due to random rolls! Imagine being able to pull out your opening shot Rangefinder Dire Promise from collections when needed. have 20+ Dire promises for some reason that I’m waiting till after sandbox changes to see which roll benefited the most.
Collections is always there just mocking me. Like yea you HAD this gun and now look at you.
Armours easy, soon as transmogs here you can use any of it in your collections again.

I do wish Bungie reworked stats and made Resilience relevant. Rocking a very low Resilience in favour of Mobility and Recovery shouldn’t be without consequence, as is pretty much the case now.
