-The radar lies, don't trust it
-See red on the radar? Don't rush, stay next to cover.
-You know sliding out of cover, now try sliding back into cover
-"He's weak, push him" is a good way to get yourself killed out of cover.
    -switch weapons to assert dominance
    -in a 2v1 or 3v1, run and turn that 2v1into a 1v1v1
    - when facing a sniper, remember that snipers never flinch, so don't try to flinch them
-if the sniper is close, slide towards them if you can get them into your primary's effective range

As I was watching the video there was a couple of times where i wanted to throw a question into the conversation you were having with Apathetic. It would so cool to have like an open class discussion like this with some of the best players in the game, my favorites players at least. Not just simple things like “don’t run down sniper sight lines with a primary or shotgun” but like where in the areas to move to minimize exposing yourself to lines you don’t intend to.

The part about how your radar can deceive you is one of those reasons why I find value in Gemini Jester exotic. Apart from its exotic perk, it will also show you tiny, like one, tic of dmg on your screen and more or less reveal you where the other guy is, thus better allow you to execute your next move.

I think the one thing that helps me up my k/D the most is this: You, for the most part, choose who, where, and when you fight. Keep that in mind. If you have a feeling you won't win the engagement, it's totally fine to turn tail and run instead of getting lit up by 3 guys that you thought were one on the radar. Sure you might lose a zone, but catching up with your team and taking one of theirs or team shooting the enemy could make or break a match. You choose your engagements. Not the other way around. Avoid sniper lanes, play with a sniper for a while to realize where those might be for future reference if need be. If someone is sitting around a corner, and you think sprinting around the corner to shotgun them is the optimal play, trust me, he's gonna kill you and the guy behind you. Just back up and change your angle. You'll get a kill. Once this falls into place, you're a lot more likely to win engagements cause you'll understand the flow of the map and your enemies better, and you can catch them by surprise most times. Had a game the other day where I put on not forgotten and bite of the fox with one eyed mask. Got 25 kills and a 6.25 k/D. And I loved every second of it. Instead of getting tilted at every death I was happy cause that meant I got more special for my sniper. Avoiding tilt is also very important. But that comes with time.

Apa is ALWAYS killin it, the amount of information I've learned from his is astronomical. A big mistake I see a lot of my friends making, is not knowing the range of their weapons. Knowing when you can get that perfect map for a shotty or how much damage drop off affects your guns is absolutely important in engagements.

  • @phenogeno4396

The biggest tip I have ever given people is to just look at the big picture. Too many people focus so much on their 1v1 that they forget what's happening around them. 1v1s should start coming naturally (to an extent) as you play more, which allows you to think where, when, and what is happening arround you. If you're having a bad day and you start complaining about your aim, you are no longer thinking, 'what are my teamtes doing,' 'where are the enemies spawning,' 'what is the enemy going to do in this situation,' you're just thinking about trying to hit your shots. Also, when it comes to what gun you should have out, apa touched on that perfectly! I'd say that a lot of it comes down to reading your opponent, but in a situation where you just don't know, its better to slide out with your shotty (since an enemy up close is much more of a danger than one far away), and slide back to cover if need be. One of the hardest scenarios is when, lets say, your enemy runs back into blue spawn like apa showed off, and you want to push the enemy before he kills your teamate, but you don't want to play it stupidly. Worst case scenario that happens often, is that I'll turn the corner wide in case they are baiting it with a shotgun, but they're actually straight lining my teamate. I just wasted a lot of time trying to be safe, and it ended up costing my teamates life. Circling back to that big picture idea, when you really stop and think, there is no win it that situation. The enemy is just stalling for his teamtes and trying to get a pick. You can either push him together and possiby risk a trade, or swiftly take the 3v2 in the enemies opposite spawn. By looking at the big picture, you'll contribute to your team much more and lower your chance of dying in an unexpected way.

I as a blink master can input some advice that may help.. if you think you can blink shotty 🦧 and think you can kill that pro player the answer is only if your a cracked shot with chaperone lol otherwise they will predict you and kill you before you blink and when you come out of your blink.. it’s best to use it to be evasive not aggressive though it can work against unaware enemies but that’s it.. I can wipe a whole team blink devour shotty but only if I catch them off guard.. mainly lesser skilled teams.. but in comp it’s a definite no so it’s best to be patient unless your using jotunn lmao

Awesome video. Apathetic is amazing. Been using all the tips in his videos to help improve. Gone from a .7kd to a 1.1kd so I'm slowly improving. Been a very frustrating climb. I have a lot of the knowledge of WHAT I need to do, it's just been a struggle putting this stuff into action. I've got a huge appreciation(don't think that's the right word lol)for guys like Apathetic and yourself because of the huge amount of time you put into practicing.

I've been trying my best. I usually spend the first month or so of a season grinding PvE then the rest of the season I live in crucible. An with this delay I've had ALOT of extra time to try and improve.

Loved this vid! somehow felt different... than the most out there. Sharing wisdom feels generous. Also put things in perspective about toxic pvp gods who never helps just call you trash even if you’re a fit. Not all good players are dheadz. Keep these coming!

Great content! Wish it was longer and with gameplay with maybe a voice over if exactly what he’s seeing/thinking/planning/motives behind all of that and what he chooses to do while we have real 3v3 sweats situations to watch etc. Just my opinion but I absolutely love your analytical skills/content 💜🔥💯

I needed this video more than anything, I play on console and my snipes hit like 80% of the time, my primary game is pretty good with anything but pulse rifles. My positioning tho and game awareness is pretty bad so this helped wayyyyy more than other videos. Thank you 🙏

Thus was really cool. Can you try to explain any terms you throw out in other vids? I think 'aping' is sliding out to get someone but I'm not sure lol.. Have you done a video on sliding effectively?

    • @PattycakesGaming
      @PattycakesGaming  3 года назад

yeah aping is just playing really aggressively with a shotty out and flying at people instead of swapping between primary and shotty, using the shotty more defensively

I hate playing with people that when they instantly see red on the map they just have to challenge it everytime. "Oh that's the guy with the shotgun on the corner. Let me try to kill him with my sniper or oh that's the sniper hardscope let me challenge where my range isn't optimal"

Additional tip. If a teammate is sighting down a sniper lane, do NOT stand behind them. If you wanna snipe go to another spot. Reason is, if they lose that duel and you are behind them, chances are that you will also be fucked, by the same bullet.
