- With Metroid Prime 4: Beyond coming up, I figured now would be the perfect time to take a look back at the many worlds we've visited so far and rank them all. Every major area we visited in the original Metroid Prime, Prime 2 and Prime 3 is eligible, but who will come out on top?

Waiting for Prime 2’s remaster-my personal favorite of the Trilogy
Same here, it's so different and cool
Definitely the best game in the trilogy.
That entire sanctuary fortress/ing hive area was so much fun. This was one of the reasons why Echoes is my favorite in the trilogy
I'm actually a huge tallon overworld fan. The tallon revisited theme is my prime core memory for sure, and I think it's definitely the most peaceful area.
Lol, yeah.. that second soundtrack is 🔥
The more familiar you get with Torvus Bog the better it becomes.
I hope they HD Remaster Metroid Prime 2 Echoes and Prime 3 Corruption someday.
There is no such debate. Every area is special in its own way and I wouldn't want to miss a single one of it. Period and end of discussion.
And Prime 2 is actually my absolute favorite of the entire series, not just the Prime trilogy.
It's my favorite too ! This game is the most rewarding of the serie. When you beat a tough boss, you feel like a true warrior ! And this feeling is higher if it's one of Dark Aether
@@freestalkerdotfr6391 Absolutely. 😎👌
Magmoor Caverns is the bottom of the pile for me because nothing interesting happens in it yet you have to pass through it like 6 times to beat the game.
I’ll gladly pass through Magmoor Caverns a 7th time though just to get to Chozo Ruins or Phendrana Drifts. Lol
Plus, it has easily by far the best spider-ball puzzle in the entire game.
Bro just hates Prime 2.
Nah, Prime 2 is great! I just think 1 and 3 are a tad better
I agree.. that game was the best of the 3 by far... and wow... prime 3 is better than 2? Very hot take there lol
Torvus bog was definitely the slowest area of the game, but extremely relaxing and a well needed change of pace I think
Basicaly😂
Dang I kinda liked Dark Aether 🥲
Whaaat GFS Olympus was so sweet!
I also kinda like Darl Aether, but I feel like it could’ve been a lot better. And there’s some strong competition, of course
Echoes is my fav game so I will say I think temple grounds deserves a bit more love, especially in its first parts where you are scanning all the trooper logs and you first encounter dark samus. It really sets the tone for the game and I like it a bit more than the frigate orpheon actually. Overall it isn't a bad list though, got me thinking about how well prime 3 nailed its worldbuilding. Also justice for great temple lol wasn't worth a specific entry I guess
Phazon mines is the epitome of delving deep into an immersive atmosphere while uncovering a story. It’s number one.
I agree. I actually love the tension that arises from the lack of save rooms. Despite how linear they are, the Phazon mnes and the pirate lab in Phendrana were standout moments in my first playthrough because of how much of a difficulty spike they were in terms of combat. They do the best job of immersing me in the world and are my personal top 2 areas
Prime 2 has more natural areas and I love it, agon wastes, torvus bog are very natural but have that awesome atmosphere, then you enter sanctuary fortress and it goes all mechanical, with a lot of digital elements, it feels like you really are in the far future, best area so far
I love Prime, I'm glad this channel exists and I'm excited for Prime 4!
Your top 3 was pretty much spot on. 👍
Interesting picks. Personally a big fan of the submerged Torvus Bog area outside of the mediocre boss, for me it has one of the most immense atmospheres the series has ever had.
It's probably due to playing order, but i really loved getting through Torvus bog. The first time i heard the underground soundtrack, i had no idea it was a remix of Super's low Brinstar theme. I was blown away by this rendition of the track, which remains my favorite one. Regular Torvus bog theme was also a certified banger.
And since i really enjoyed the dark oppressing dark Aether areas, i guess the game really clicked with me. Definitely my fav of ghe trilogy, and fav Metroid game overall.
I like raven beaks sky palace/throne room, its sybolic of the hight samus has to climb to rise to the challenge, its hard to cap off such a legendary story but it was more than good enough, and the boss fight was amazing.
In terms of immediate impact its the tallon overworld, after the theme music, and epic opening sequence you are treated to this new hostile world, and the music and rain on the gun ect is so ambient and immersive even today.
The story was the only major issue dread has
@@novustalks7525 Dread had a few issues that bothered me even though it was fantastic.
For one I felt like it ended very suddenly and left you without explanations. The Raven Beak-X fight was a button push and disappointed me a lot. I was looking forward to a large scale "final form" battle even though it served to show how powerful Samus was. Then the timer starts and you're escaping the planet and then it explodes even though you're not really given a clear explanation as to why. Also unexplained is Quiet Robe-X helping you and whether Samus' metroid powers are "controlled" or gone now.
The other big weakness the game had was the music. While I think the game had a few decent tracks and one amazing one (I absolutely love Burenia) the rest of the songs were forgettable and the best ones were mostly remixes of older songs.
Phendrana is slightly overrated imo
Yes the music is godlike and the atmosphere is also great but the level design itself is kinda weak and short. Especially compared to other top contenders such as the sanctuary fortress, elysia, bryyo and the pirate homeworld.
Pshh.
Sounds like a you problem.
I agree with the placement of Magmoor. For a heat-themed area, it definitely does feel undercooked, I remember hearing once that there was supposed to be a boss in the area and that would've been cool but overall it's pretty inoffensive. My first playthrough of the game, I felt like it was a hub of sorts since it had some of the most elevators in one place and they weren't too far apart either.
More videos like this. Metroid lacks content like this on RUclips
🫡
What are the inconsistencies and logical fallicies with sanctuary fortress? I didn't notice any.
You clearly disliked Dark Aether. I'm guessing that Echoes was your least favourite of the trilogy.
Probably, yeah. It’s pretty close though, all three games are fantastic
Am i tripping or did you miss underwater frigate
It's technically part of Tallon Overworld.
Love the deep dive videos! Keep up the great work 🙌
Thanks!
Finally! Someone does a ranking video of the Prime worlds! Here's my ranking of each world in each game:

I think sanctuary fortress is the best but phendrana drifts is cool too.
But hydrofacility was such a banger, Torvus bog deserved better😢
I disagree with your take on Dark Aether but I respect your opinion and I think I get your point.
In my opinion these locations are all fantastic. Would make it really hard for me to rank them because I don't think any deserve to be at the bottom, but something has to go there.
When releasing game-related content, I suggest capturing and uploading in 60fps.
Retro Studios went to great lengths to target 60fps with all their games; viewing them in anything less looks cheap.
My list:
1. Temple Grounds Canyons

Fair enough haha
? 'Questionable'? Who's the authority on that ? 😂 An opinion is an opinion, he is not analysing the entire game by assets here, only choosing his favorite areas.
Also while things are still friendly and civil on here , is that all the effort you're going to put in? 🤦♂️ Care to constructively elaborate?
@@Henry_Red Ehh, I think you're being a bit too soft on it and lavishing _a bit_ too much praise. I mean look , I love Prime 3 esprcially and think the 1st game is a Classic but shock horror I don't think Prime 1's areas have aged too well, they feel a bit tight and boxy compared to todays games sweeping vistas. Prime: Beyond already seems more like it though. It seems very visceral and appears to take advantage of the much needed boost in tech these classy, high fidelity Space games need.
@@Henry_Red Forgive me (?) as I didn't know what those were (my general historical knowledge is pony lol.) I Googled them , and while cool from a distance, up close the drawings are quite childlike and basic. (Imo) but the colour scheme is amazing. Understandable for something made 10s of 1000s of tears ago though!
@@Henry_Red Yep , pretty much. Well, I like select old Mario and some of the classic 2D Zeldas but yea in terms of gaming I'm very much with Retro's and Monolith's philosophy: Big and bold in the dimension We all know. I guess it comes with what you grew up with and how it shaped your mindset. It wasn't my 1st ever game but hilariously as Ocarina was the game I grew up with, I always thought Nintendo was about cutting edge 3D graphics and pushing things to their limits. Then came Half Life 2 with it's cutting edge and fuelled that ethos even further. I guess that was my 'baby Metroid' moment and I haven't looked back and expected less from games since! 😂 I do dip back to the simpler 2D or turn Based games sometimes but they have to be very well made a bit like Mario RPG and how the new Mario Brotherhood game is shaping up to be.
Hey I thought we weren’t using that dumb old Prime 4 logo anymore now we have the real one! Also, damn you really hate Echoes. I used to be like you but when I replayed it in Trilogy years later I appreciated it a lot more including it’s environments
You make a video talking about every area thats been used in the metroid series.
For example, every or most metroid games have a fire area since norfair in the original metroid with Fusion & Prime being the first one(s) to introduce the cold snowy area to the series.
Awesome thumbnail, solid video, good quality audio, easy sub. I recently put out a video on my channel about my issues with Echoes and it seems like a 50/50 split on how people feel about that game vs the others. But your takes are exactly the same as mine, I think the dark areas in Echoes are fairly weak and hold the game back from the other two.
Your channel will grow fast dude, keep it up!
Thanks!
I loved prime 3 so much I hope they port the trilogy
Tallon Overworld is defiantly number 1
Only a true Metroid fan can have a valid criticism, I hope you understand what I mean
So, you hate Echoes huh?
You should a video where you rank all suits from the Prime Trilogy.
I like that idea!
Also include the variations, such as each Corruption stage of the PED Suit, The Gravity Boost attachment on the Dark Suit, and the Grapple Lasso on the Varia Suit.
I have to give my vote to Phaaze
NI completely agree with Phendrana drifts, like while I was in that area, it was the most immersed in a game I’ve ever been. Also in my opinion Chozo ruins should be lower, like I kind of hated that area. I haven’t played Pime 2 & 3 yet because I’m waiting to see if they’re going to be put on the switch, so I have no opinions on anything else. I do have both prime 2 & 3 though, I even just got the 3rd one yesterday just because it was cheap.
Sheegoths... Intimidating... 😂
Wild takes my guy lol
Man the hate against Prime 2 holy shit lol
Definitely not hate, Prime 2 is great! Just prefer 1 and 3
Elysia has never been high on my list. I think the Skytown is heavily overrated. What really is there than some Towers above the Cloud that are getting annoying to traverse through after a while. I'll take Bryyon over Elysia any day.
🥱
What about Hunters? ):
I just realized you mentioned Trilogy in the title, my bad, have a nice day
PHENDRANA!!!❤❤❤
You are a metroid content creator,You are a bother.
Weird takes by the way but i'm a metroid other m fan so, no problem xd.
😂
Just say that you hate MP2
Never!
Phaaze is the best level in all of metroid!

Magmoor caverns could have been so much better, i hoped in the remaster they would have added a scrapped boss like a cybernetic kraid. But all we got was a flaming hallway.
So the takeaway is that you like the pretty places and you dislike the tense, difficult places
Damn if you put it like that… 😅
*
Elysia
Torvous bog
