  • In this vid I try the Tokyo Rig for the first time... being a newbie to the technique I wanted to record the results and my first impressions and set up I chose to use. Overall I really like it and see massive potential in certain situations.

It's funny how a small change in a lures presentation attracts pressured fish in pressured waters like crazy.

Works really well as swing head as well so lone won't be cut with shells or what not on bottom

I've learned that if you bend the wire in to an L shape instead of a J it will grab less weeds

That will work too. I make it small enough to fit inside the bottom of the weight and had very few issues

I'm no help JP, I have a couple packs in my boat but never think about tying one on. Too many techniques and I'm stuck in my old ways. 😁

Interesting technique, JP. Considering hook types and length of wire, the possibilities are almost endless. Thanks for sharing !

@Mitch Meeks, Mike Long has come out with a signature model snagging treble Tokyo rig!

I think it’s great that you’re getting into the Tokyo rig. I’ve got a dozen, just because of the different hooks available, but we have so much snot grass in North Carolina it’s one I don’t use as much as I want to.👍

Just so you know, Trudeau is following you on the tracking app on your phone and selling your coordinates to buy coke;)

I’ve punched with a Tokyo rig successfully! I hate dropshotting and the tokyo rig is what I use when I should ds but don’t want to.

I use two bullet weights, rigged in opposite positions. One for a clean entry and one so it comes out clean.

Smart idea with the double weights!

I have both the rigs and those baits in a tote someplace and I've never thrown them.

They work! I can see some huge benefits...going to try to throw some other baits and situations this week!
