so what? Is this advice for next year? We're a little past August. Just a couple weeks though. Why didnt you get this out in august? You were busy huh? Thats why I wont sub to your channel Ill watch but you do some bad things bro.
This is my favorite type of video! Shows what real fishing is actually like and that even the best anglers struggle some days. Makes a newbie like me feel better when I have those kind of days. So thank you Tyler for showing the bad with the good.
It's real.. I'm glad you posted this.. You are human and we all learn from it.. Keep doing what your doing bro. I respect what your doing and posted this so much.. It's not an illusion people think you have great days everyday even on a boat..
Hands down most educational and motivationly inspiring fishing vid I've seen in years. My man Tyler has that "it" factor! Sincere thank you for the great content tight lines homie🎣
As a newbie getting into bass fishing I appreciate the honesty in videos like these. It’s nice to see that even experienced fishermen have days where they struggle or make mistakes. I learn something in each video and each time I go out on the water! 🙌
Great video! I actually loved seeing both the wins as well as the missed opportunities. Seeing a pro have the same issues as I do with misses, mistakes line breaks, etc. is actually very encouraging!
love when you do this type of video. Something I have switched to is flipping with a superline ewg. I just don’t lose fish. My e just luck, but it works for me. Also, my wife and I had a similar experience. We were fishing a pressure lake. We were catching a few but a lot of areas were being fished already. Found a pond that was hard to get into. Pushed poled our way in and found several good fish that were eager to bite. Definitely worth the effort to get in there. Thanks for sharing your knowledge
Some studies have been done about the soda trick. One study concluded that due to the toxic nature of the soda on the gills, fish stop pumping blood which is why it stops bleeding. When they put the fish in a cooler of water, the fish began to bleed again after a short amount of time. Another thing in question is if the acid does any long term damage to the cells collecting oxygen. As of now they say the best thing to do is return the fish to water as soon as possible
This is very true. The fish's gills are their lungs. Would you pour soda on your lungs? Probably not. The gills serve various functions: oxygen absorption, carbon dioxide removal, water flow, blood flow, gill protection, and control of the density of the water that prevents collapse. The sooner you get the bass back into the water, not the live well, the better chance that bass will survive.
That was a serious study with a very scientific approach, I listened to the fisheries biologist describe it at length. So interesting that the shock of the soda causes a heart stop reflex, so the bleeding stops for a moment but returns a minute or two later after release. Another point he made is to have a pair of high quality nippers to cut the hook apart for easy removal or to minimize the size if left in. Plus I’ve found those nippers handy to protect me, when I had to push a hook through my thumb and cut off the barb.
@@Michdave700 Yes, I saw that study. I've also read up on other studies that all lead to the same conclusion: do not use soda on the fish: try to cut the hooks out if you can, and put them back into the lake as soon as you can, not the livewell.
Just want to echo some of the comments. This is a great video. Everyone can learn something from this video. I won't be telling myself that i will fix the fray later, which i have done many times.
Really enjoyed this video. Real world struggles & on water decisions & why you made them. Very cool. Kept at it even after losing fish & feeling frustrated. Good job!

The struggle is real for all fishermen. Seen your boat for sell and said man that looks so familiar and then seen it was yours. That’s an amazing setup for someone to get for sure.
3:30 If you're solo why not circle back and fish the same section with the alternate approach? "Slower, deeper" if initial approach was fast and shallow?
Please come to Ross Barnett Reservoir here in Mississippi I try and apply all your direction when reflecting on shade, time of year, water temp, and come up just getting a handful of weenie bass
Love these videos. Would like to see you do this type of video on Watauga Lake in Carter County, Tennessee. There are some good healthy and big fish in it, but it can be quite a challenge to figure out. Anyway, looking forward to the next one.
Commenting at the beginning of the video.. but hopefully you live to make another one. Grew up in Columbus the only decent gas station Hotdog I can think of is udf on hard rd. And even then it's risky 🤣
Great video! I love watching the lake break. Can you make a video about flipping with Braid to leader in the future? I’ve tried but my leader knot always makes flipping a headache because the knot gets caught in the eyes and I lose a lot of accuracy.

I have days like this! Had an evening like this during an evening tournament ith my brother. We only caught 3 fish....all my brothers and still came in 3rd. If I had caught one or 2 of the 10 frog bites I had that night we would have won! I zeroed that night in a team tournament......luckily my brother was on my team!

Yah know I've seen Scott Martin Jacob wheeler, cantaberry and friends use that pile o crap hook he's loosing fish or miss them just like who I named, I tried them ran into same problem, went back to widegap and will never use the others again I personally think the plastic is acting like a weed gaurd when u set the hook and that's why u miss them or they come off cause ur not getting full penetration Also that was a ultra vibe speed craw or mag ultra vibe speed craw Not the speed craw like u said, the speed craw has wider claws I toss all 3 that's how I know😊

Hi there, I have a question. Can you recommend a good reel 100-250. I have seen other vids where you recommend the Bruin ELS but I can’t seem to find it anywhere and I’m questioning if it’s in production. If you can recommend me one or a good place to buy a ELS that would be very helpful.
Damn neck breaking hook set... I was wondering it makes sense. You thought you were hung up. Thought to myself that's one way to make sure the hook goes right through the roof of the mouth
This is just a correction for handling fish with bleeding gills. Please don't pour sodas in the fish to help stop the bleeding. The gills are the fish's lungs that serve many functions: water flow, carbon dioxide removal, oxygen absorption, blood flow, and control of the density of the water in their system, especially when handled outside the water. Think of it this way: your lungs provide capillary blood flow and regulate oxygen/carbon dioxide mixture. Would you want someone to pour a carbonated drink down your trachea into your lungs to stop bleeding? I hope you say no. The same goes with a fish; this will do more harm than good to the fish.
OK, is there something about gas station hot dogs that I don't understand cause I sure eat gas station hot dogs now Gas station sushi, that'll make you sick.😅
@@BassFishingHQ With the flipping hook and the point burred in the soft plastic at an angle. And too much stretch in the fluoro setup. I don't think you were consistently getting good hook penetration. The braid setup fixed it despite the same flipping hook and bait.
That’s why I stopped fishing fluorocarbon. Too many break offs. Too much money. Trilene big game or xt almost never breaks. The hooks usually straighten out before a break off.
He was hooking them but they kept coming off. Even with a flipping hook maybe he wasn't getting enough penetration through the mouth with too much stretch in the fluoro combo. Once he went to the braid to leader combo, 100% hookup.
@@BassFishingHQ There is a lot of plastic that flipping hook has to go through before it catches the fish's mouth and there is too much stretch with the fluoro setup.
