The Lake Break series of videos has really become popular on the channel and I really want to say thank you to everyone who watches them. I put a ton of effort into these to make them the best videos I can.
What I didn't know when I got to the lake on this day is the overcast conditions I was experiencing was actually the canadian smoke that a lot of the country has been experiencing.
However this smoke made a prime day for tossing around a buzzbait and catching a lot of bass.
BassFishingHQ is dedicated to teaching people how to catch more and bigger bass. I will go over different bass fishing tips & techniques that will put more fish in the boat or on the shore. Whether you are just starting out or a seasoned tournament angler, my goal is to help you catch more bass.

This is very refreshing for the fishing RUclips community. Educational. Entertaining. Just some good ole fishing content
“Tastes like I licked a carp”
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Love your channel Tyler, you’re probably one of the most informative fishing channels on RUclips. Genuinely feels like u want ppl to have more success on the water ….love that about your content!! That being said, u know your craft, and I really enjoy seeing u just go out and fish, for me that’s what makes these style vids my fav. Keep it up dude!!
Completely agree. Outside of time on the water, I use RUclips for most of my fishing research and learning. This channel is one of only a few I watch consistently. Keep up the great work 😊
I agree he does seem like he wants his knowledge to transfer to us
Yes, this series is really big hit
This is actually right around where I live excited to see you make your way out to the lake.
Good video bud! I hope this series is here to stay. The way you put these together is almost like watching a fishing show on cable television when I was a kid but much more informative.
All of your vids are enjoyable, and informative. But, more of these PLEASE.
Thanks for the content and consistency. I know that being consistent is the hardest part of making videos, & you make it look easy, and you always give out a ton of knowledge. I'm grateful for this channel, and you taking the time to make these videos continue what you do, and thanks.
Way to go, guys
I fished that lake for the first time in a number of years, just a couple of weeks ago, and had a 30+ fish day fishing the trees and saddles . I was happy to see this lake was doing so well still.
Love these type of videos. Keep up the amazing work 👍
Great content, makes the video very easy to watch and teaches me something new every time 👍🏻🇺🇸🎣
I love this. Mainly because I just fished there last month and know all the spots you hit. 😂
That was hilarious 😂 Great video, love the lake breakdown challenges!
Great video and great series! I’m always learning something from your videos. Also awesome to see you fish a place I’ll be nearby in about a month.
Love your channel man I’ve learned so much from you. No nonsense content with absolute skills being taught, can’t go wrong man I show all my friends your channel, just ordered a bass hat to sonoma county California. Keep on making great videos man you’re the best🎣
Yea man. I love these videos where you fish new water with no practice. Keep up the great work, and thank you.
Love the content Tyler, excellent education, and fun to watch as well.
Tyler, your channel always a great videos. I probably don.t hit like everytime I watch but, that is an oversight on my part. I always look forward to watching because I know " it's gonna be a good one". Keep it up and thanks
Oh YEAH Break time!!! Nothing like that top water! Great vid and information, hope the break stays! Digging those ARK rods also!
Perfect timing on this vid. I’m heading up there this weekend for a Kayak tournament. The pattern in the pattern is gonna be so useful for me. Hopefully I can figure em out. Thanks for the videos.
Love this style of video, best lake break video yet
i just got into bass fishing and you're channel has helped me so much thank you
Awesome instructional video!
Love your channel and videos! Keep them coming!
Awesome job on these series. They have helped me to catch more fish. I think you offer some of the best content for instruction and tip/tricks for bass fishing👍👍. Just curious why you moved away from the okuma tcs rods??
I may have watched this at 1.75x speed but not oh boy did this video fly by. This was so entertaining! And informative!
Great video man!
Dude, Love yer Vids, i have learned alot in the last year, as i just got into fishing last year.

I was yelling at the tv, "no don't open them sideways" lol. I'm with you, they are gross! Great series 👍
Love this series
these lake break videos are the best man keep it up
Love your videos. Job well done. Keep it up!
I sat at my lake house this past weekend and watched Saturday morning as no less that 13 boats cast their wacky worms under my docks and lifts. Another dozen did the same Sunday morning. No one caught a single fish, not one. Too many bass fishermen are one trick wonders.
OMG Tyler , back in march i caught a 2 pound largemouth bass on the googan squad spinner bait micro zinger solid white while in the middle of a severe thunderstorm i ran inside the house with ole 2 pounds dangling on the spinnerbait on my 1st ever bait caster i was litterally on the verge of tears then i put ole 2 pounds back in the water , Thank you Mr.Tyler Berger sir , you got this ole boy head over paws in love with the spinner bait that ty i have assembled a tackle binder worth of a variety of spinner baits from 1/4th quarter ounce to 1/8th ounce strike king spinnerbait . to this day i never leave home with out spinner baits i've become an asbolute diehard believer in the spinnerbait
Great video Tyler. Keep up the good work. Got a good laugh watching you eat the anchovies. I don’t know anyone who likes them. Way to go.👍
Tyler these videos are killer love em!!
I was just thinking how awesome all that cover looked at the 50 sec mark.
Looks like fun!
A valiant effort, Tyler!
That was a fantastic video learned a lot like always but the ending was epic great job
The"Booshhhhh" sound!!! Every bass fisherman makes it a few times a day when you run that topwater over a spot you just know its going to get smoked.
Thank you for your lake breakdown
Really digging this series
Got a sub from me man, great vid, good explanation and setup. Cant wait to get on lake Gaston this summer and put some of these bait and strategies to use!
Great video. Very informative.
My favorite part was watching you eat the anchovies 😂
Really fun when they come back and get it.
Awesome content. We really enjoy watching you. Keep up the great work. We really want to see you meet your goal on the water and catch big fish BUT this is just an added bonus to see you have to eat this stuff. Hahahaha. Keeep it up. Great work😂
Great job Tyler!
New to watching fishing content on YT I love your channel just take my like and sub! I love this series in particular! Great stuff!
😂😂😂 ah man I gotta give it to ya bud. Your a better man than I. Great content bro
This is awesome. I hope to be able to understand bass fishing like this one day. I do okay, my pb is 7lbs on an underspin so I'm not terrible 🤣 just wish to understand it like this.
Including the time of day during each weight update would be awesome. That way we can see when each bait/technique is reaching effectiveness.
Was in Sandusky so my boys could go to Cedar point amusement park previous two days we were hitting puplic acess shore fishing did surprisingly well on both LM bass bluegills and big surprise was the amount and size of channel cats we caught my youngest and myself both caught channel cats over 8lbs
Biggest surprise off all I caught mine on a 1/2oz chatter bait
I can no longer ride roller-coasters
I absolutely love small mouth bass so I decided to hit a large public launch harbor on lake Erie where I bought bait the day before
Started with a dozen soft shelled crayfish
First few casts were fruitless as I searched classic looking small mouth habitat of large piles of drift wood and large rock but all I got was snagged and a hook full of weeds
Tried the boat docks next 1st cast I landed a 3lb+ small mouth that gave one heckofa fight thought YES!!! FINALLY here we go
Spent the next 8+hrs catching nothing but sheepshead went through 3.5 dozen softshells and got 38 more sheephead on and 29 in for a total of 30 fish for the day average size was over 3lbs biggest two were 28-30" long based on using my 15.5" long size 14 shoe as a ruler and my biggest two sheepshead were at least 2x as long as my shoe.
I was using a 6'-6" MH fast rod with 10lb Yo-Zuri copolymer line a size 3500 Shimano Semetry reel a #4 Aberdeen hook and a #3 splitshot
Had one fish that was so big he snapped the hook in two one fish just straightened the hook and got off two fish my line broke while fighting them.
What amazed me was 75% of my sheepshead came out of the same 4 different sections of boat docks
Nope not my beloved Smallmouth but any time I can average more than 4 fish an hour for 8 straight hours all over 3lbs and not walk more than a few hundred yards to do it Id call that one heck of a good days fishing.
I literally caught and released over 100lbs of fish in one day
Wish lake Erie wasn't 4+ hours from my home
As next day we went out on a walleye charter and caught three limits and over 50lbs of walleye which were excellent eating as I fillet them all myself at a superb public fish cleaning sight near the harbor we launched out of.
Those are Canada Geese!
This video was fantastic. But eating anchovies = priceless.
Really enjoyed this video and the kicker was watching you try and eat anchovies 🤣
great vid, Tyler! That blk buzz was killin it most the time on that overcast day. Dude I hate sardines and can’t imagine anchovies!!! Heck, you were grossing me out! lol
Oh, you're fishing my home town. It's a pretty good place to catch a lot of things.
Nice to see you up my way. My old club Bedford and another awesome club Buckeye fish the West Harbor, East Harbor which I think is a way better fishery where you probably caught your 15lbs , and of course Sandusky Bay, which again you more than likely caught your limit. You looked like you had fun, I love fishing that part of Erie, I grew up in Cleveland. And you fished a good day, boat traffic by 10am is crazy. Awesome video I live in Maryland now and the video brightened my day, Thanks
Another reason i became a subscriber O!! H!!
Thank you for your videos. I'll make sure I will make it to the day of the Ohio fishing Expo your there
I like the tutorials, but love to see you actually fish!
Another awesome video!! Was this day recently on the water? I thought I saw you but wasn’t sure!
Get off my fishing hole! 😂
j/k great video dude
Heard you liked it up there
I love sardines and anchovies. Here in South Africa we have a dried, vry salty fish called bokoms. LOVE it.
I've fished erie and st clair all my life.
Just a different pattern for the 3+ this year. I caught only one 4+ from the bank.
Smallmouth on the lakes this time of year gives you the weight your looking for.
I'm from Sandusky! Love seeing these vids from an Ohio guy! Good luck pulling 17ilbs in West Harbor though!
Well look at this way there good for you and you had a good day on the water
They're Canadian geese and all over the Northeast. Watch your channel a lot btw. Keep it up👍🏼
Lake Erie has a ton of great fishing spots especially the Inlet at Metzgers marsh in Bono ohio or pretty much wherever rocks and cover are
Love this show
Thanks I learned a lot
Sardines are delicious with a bit of cheddar cheese on a cracker with some brown mustard. Especially herring
Hey buddy Tyler, I think i would have rode around and ask someone if they had a nice fish in their live well and I would have asked them if they would sell it. That stuff is totally disgusting, it looked like snails. Sorry my friend hope you didn't have to look at porcelain for a while. I love fishing I know you do, it's such a challenge !
Asain people always say it's gluck to get one on the 1st cast..lol bought a ark cobb rod cause of this channel btw. Freaking love it
Ben Milliken just did a video similar to this one in concept, and it was one of my favorites videos he's done. Really looking forward to this one from you!
Unfortunately Milliken ripped off the idea imo. Tyler been doing these videos for a while now I feel like Ben could of at-least gave Tyler his credit for the creative idea.I brought it up to Ben on his last video and he deleted the comment which to me he is admitting guilt.I liked ben but I think what he did was dirty.
@@BredForBass damn...I didn't know that. That's not cool...
@@Pudge4400 I just hope Ben don’t get all the credit for such a great idea I create content myself coming up with ideas like this video that is educational and informative is not easy to do and I only hope tyler gets the credit for being the originator of it because he puts A lot of work into this stuff and he just a good human being in general.
@@BredForBass I agree! I love his approach and everything he puts out is professional and extremely educational.
I need to gain the patience and learn the bait caster, the hook sets look so awesome,
it's actually really GOOD to catch a bass on the first cast...remember, any fish you get to bite is beneficial.
Bro, very well-done video. You are very camera friendly and know how to fish. But admit it, you liked that anchovy!
Tyler, I realize the concept here was to catch the fish in a limited quantity of time; however, in general, do you fish the lure right up to the boat. I noticed that you missed a few by not doing so. I always try to fish the lure right to the boat for those fish that follow the lure and strike at the last minute.
A promise is a promise😅
Great video guy
Greatings from it😊alian bassman
That's a really good day of fishing in my book haha
First time ive seen one of your vids ans im already shopping for lures lol
West harbor is loaded. Love fishing there.
I dont have confidence in buzz baits but you make me wanna go throw one
I love the choices!,,ha,ha
:20 and with the help of Sonar and electronics 😂😂 you'll "find" all the fish😂😂
You changed the name of the video. Nice video these are my favs
I caught a 3.5b 19” largemouth female that had just finished spawning on the first cast of a top water frog over a mat where no one was fishing and it was my largest of recent memory. Mouth was easily 5-6” in diameter.
One quick tip: File the head down on the sides. Its easier to get the frog over and it won't split the bait as easy.
What boat ramp did you launch from up at west harbor? I'm planning a trip up there in a couple weeks.
Thanks
Chad
I like your set up with buzzbait
The real burning question on my mind: How come you know what licking a carp tastes like? Maybe a new series? Lakes after dark. 😅
Awesome video lol
It can be good luck to get one on the very first cast i had one before on a first cast and i caught a lot of bass that day
Red 10 inch I though turns black . We have a night tournament this month l will use those 3 bait thank you for the info.
Shoulda make a Caeser salad dressing, made a marinade along with Worcestershire sauce (which they’re already in usually), or simply on a pizza or bruschetta!
Those baits with the big blades were popular in the early 80s
Smith Mountain Lake Virginia is producing some tanks!!!!!!!
