Noah and N are incredibly in depth and complex characters. It's physically painful to watch Noah lose Mio in every lifetime no matter what he does differently. While I don't condone N's actions, I understand him. Noah's VA absolutely went hard in his performances here. The maternity ward scene and Noah and Mio's interactions at the beginning of Ch 5 hit so differently when you find out they did have a child together. ETA: Noah screaming at N, "You're full of s***!" was BEAUTIFUL Seeing Nia was amazing, especially with the Drifting Souls instrumental playing 😭
@@lilaclunablossom 1 is definitely stronger than 3 story wise, but no way in hell is 2 having a better story than 3. 2 had a horrible first half that took too long to open up. The great last two chapters don't make up for the the shit that came before that as well as the huge copout fan service ending.
I've watched the scenes at the end of Chapter 5 and beginning of Chapter 6 through various VODs and highlight videos numerous times. Never fails to make me shed tears.
I have conflicting feelings on Shania. She’s had it rough, no doubt, and the only person she ever really talked to wasn’t the most stable relationship. That feeling of hopelessness about your situation no matter what you do really wears down on a person to the point of doing what she did. But at the same time, that doesn’t justify ending someone’s life to make your own better, especially when it’s an ENTIRE CITY. I guess that’s what makes N such a compelling villain. You don’t forgive them, but you understand why.
And about Shania, if we all think she's the worst for her treason, there's actually one character who is even worse than her. I won't say more in case either you or anyone reached "that part" (side quest), but truly, to me they are the worst, cruelest character of this game.
Shania is probably my favourite example of expectations create low self esteem in people, her entire upbringing was leading her on a downward spiral, from the only person in her life that saw her for herself and actually being supportive being her dead father, her abusive mother who even Monica wants to knock some sense into, for godsakes thats your only child and you treat her like shit and then get mad when she tries to kill you and everyone else in the city Ghondor while she comes to realize later still doesn't change the fact that she's horrible at talking to people without coming off as rude and uncaring, all these factors plus the weight of responsibility and family heritage took their toll on a girl who never had the ability to be a fighter in the first place none of her backstory justifies killing innocents but it does make her worthy of sympathy because this wasn't an over night change, she wasn't a bad person to start but her insecurities mixed with a degenerating mental state took its toll on her until she came across mobieus and the rest is as we see, I see Shania as a tragic story of a monster that needed to be put down before it could cause real harm but never forgetting that monster was once human and needed support before she eventually broke and nothing could fix her
Chapter six had a number of memorable moments, including some funny ones. Taion’s heart to heart with Eunie was heartwarming and also comical. Then there’s the conversation about Mio’s hair which I’m glad the boys weren’t involved in. And of course we have Noah being called a dummy for getting the wrong idea about the flute. Another one of mine is Sena being on board with Lanz’s swearing.
Noah literally wears his hair in a ponytail, and even then I bet he wouldn’t have known how to help Mio with her problem lol. Cute dorks, I love them all.
39:34 in the context of N committing infinity murder for who knows how many hundreds of years and everyone still feeling bad for him experiencing the consequences of his own actions, I think we can give the mentally ill teenage girl a sliver of a break when she fails to kill anyone but herself 😭
I love the agnus castle theme, I'm such a sucker for choir tracks and this one's ungodly beautiful! Even tho it's such a traumatic Spot, I'd always stop and listen to the music when I was there!
The nervousness and excitement of running up the Cloudkeep to finally see Nia...man I wish I could experience that moment again, the music elevated it to a whole different level.
1:40:45 let's be clear here, any other flesh eater would absolutely have died there, it's only because her regeneration powers are so crazy strong that she survived at all, and even then it was not unscathed.
I always took it that all Blades regenerate as long as their Core is fine, and since she got shot in her "heart" and not her Core, she lived. Also that since she's the only "true" Blade in the game, Moebius didn't know how they worked and that's why D aimed for her heart. That's why Nia said "two cetris to the right," because that's where her Core is. Though I suppose her regen abilities would help with her human half, since she's only half Blade.
@@4137Swords yeah that makes a lot of sense, maybe I misinterpreted that. I just remembered that flesh eaters age like humans, but it makes sense that they all regenerate like blades.
@@byrontheusurper6505 I think it's only the true flesh eaters. Because cole said he lost his immortality, so any blade or fully made hybrid would probably have survived there.
The reveal that Mio had switched in Chapter 5 made her words so much heavier. When she said, "MY Noah." Of course there was an "aha!" moment, but then it really hit me deep. The thing is anybody who has felt love that strong can't say they wouldn't do what N did. It's easy from the outside, but no matter how much crazy stuff he did, you can't say he didn't love her. After seeing her die so many times that kind of loss would add up. Just going through it once still wrecks me after so many years. To see it over and over would be enough to drive anybody mad. The Cloudkeep introduction was fantastic, too. Seeing Dromarch's face and finally finding Nia made me so emotional. I echo the sentiments that this game, especially chapters 5 and 6 should go down in history books and be taught in schools. Superb writing and masterful storytelling. I'm sad I missed your playthrough live since our schedules can't really line up, but I'm thankful I get to watch here
Chapter 6 was essentially a contest of which Noah was the most Noah, and since our Noah still has a Mio, he’s the most Noah-est of all, easily out-Noahing N.
This was an absolutely magical stream. We the chat willingly sat in emote-only mode for 3 hours as we watched Sarah experience this incredible moment. And the viewer count never dropped below 1000 for like the entire 3 hours. Just goes to show how incredibly well they wrote this chapter 5 -> chapter 6 sequence.
Wow, what mascara is that? The running is amazing! You got that "I was dumped on the limo ride to prom" look down perfectly! In a world of waterproof mascaras you managed to seriously find the best one to cry in! I need to know what it is so I can share with GF.
Man watching this took me back to the day I played through the end of chapter 5 and start of 6. I started crying almost just as hard as the first time I saw these scenes
The first thing I thought when I first played this part of the game and saw Nia get shot was "She's the strongest healer in the entire world, she's gonna be pissed when she wakes up after that"
I'm so grateful you kept going with this. I've been wanting to see this reaction for awhile and I discovered a lot of your other content while waiting. So excited!
I just have to say that I love how the symbolism about hope, lucky seven, and the flutes come together in this scene. Watching Noah grab the flute when told to grab lucky seven was beautiful. He had been using a weapon to defend from hopelessness when he should have been trying to overcome it. Offseers give hope to those left behind. Not much else. That's what I think Noah realized with Jorans mud puppets back at colony lambda. Upon realizing that crucial detail he figured the sword was the same. This is all just the theory I agree with the most. There's plenty of ways to interpret it.
Glad your back! I finished the game back in September but its been a dream to come back to it and see you finish it off! The soundtrack is honestly insane.
If there's 2 characters I desperately need as heroes, it's mwamba and kite. Kite's ether missile staff thing looks like it'd be fun as fuck to play, and mwamba is just best boy!
I’m finally playing Xenoblade 2, and I love it so much! Harry’s performance in the scene where N finds out that his Mio is gone is so perfect. This series is so good.❤ I hope the DLC is about N’s son.
I waited patiently and it was absolutely worth it. Thank you for the love and care that has gone into this. It shows, and it helps carry the emotion through to the viewer.
I adore Y's flavor of smug as fuck crazy "entertain me" type villain. I call them the desarm type, after my absolute favourite inazuma eleven character!
I love that the game has accustomed us to expect Mio's journal at the end of each chapter so the fact we only see her flute at the end of Chapter 5 was the icing on the cake.
@8:00 and onward. Yeah literally this got me burst out in tears... For parents to let their kid alone this early... No one should ever experience this.
53:55 "too much change" Oh so I see you're going with the Endless Now, then. I kid i kid! But seriously I've been waiting to see this episode of your playthrough for months now, thanks for uploading it! Xenoblade Chronicles 3 truly is in a class of its own.
I've always found it a little weird how people are so much more willing to sympathize with N than Shania. Both have reasons for doing what they did, but neither was justified. Only two people actually ever died because of Shania's actions. One was herself, and the other was a guy during the prison break, who was actually killed by N. The same N who also slaughtered and entire city and likes to watch people suffer for fun.
Probably because we didn't really see why Shania became who she is until we do an ascension quest. With N, we see it in the beginning of chapter 6 before we defeat him.
Also it’s because N is Noah, who we’ve been controlling the whole game, so it’s much easier to relate to him, especially since we just lost OUR Mio the chapter before.
Hm... That's not quite right about "likes to make people suffer for fun"; like Riku pointed during the Agnus Castle prison sequence; "When people happy, they laugh. But N eyes are all sad." N doesn't and never had real fun torturing people. He's torturing himself, literally so, as he does with Noah. They're the same person, Noah is the symbol of his hope and regrets. N loathes to see his own image keep succeeding where he has failed; the thing is, N regretted what he did right after doing it. If anything, torturing Noah is a manifestation of self harm. The sequence of N lifting his sword to execute Noah is powerful because figuratively he's about to kill himself. Everything that N did, he hated it. He actually *wants* to have hope, but is horribly scared to fail once again, and hence another reason for him to try stopping Noah.
1:08:00 Whether Miyabi died and got reborn and aged up (just not all the way to tenth term as her role was to control the tenth termers), or somehow survived, is something of some debate among fans. I'd say that Y referring to awakening her, and a bit of dialog during a quest with Mwamba (where the party wonders why Miyabi got her memories back but Mwamba didn't), implies she was indeed reborn, which would mean Mio's words about her still being alive were perhaps misleading.
I’m watching this and I keep thinking: please play Xenogears someday! So many ideas here are refinements and expansions on ideas from the original Xenogears that I would love to see how you react to their raw, primordial form.
I went with long hair for Mio for most of the game after this chapter began, but I did switch back to short hair on time for the game's finale. :) Nia's return was so sweet, even with the bait and switch making you worry at first...at least until you remember she's a Flesh Eater and she didn't get hit in the Core Crystal. Also, does anyone feel like Nia is Mio's mom. I really feel like Nia is Mio's mom. Spoilers for Future Redeemed, the final chapter of this game, and Sena's Sidequest below for any who may be watching this and haven't gotten to any of those. If you go further, you've been warned. Also, a warning that the part below the spoiler area will be a bit of an essay. Sorry. ^^''' - - - - - - - - - - I have complicated feelings regarding Shania. I think we can all agree that her wishing destruction on the entire city and being smug about Mio about to be gone in a way that she'd be dead forever like one of the City people or Moebius (the only other two who perma-die) was entirely unwarranted and terrible. On the other hand, she had no support system, an abusive parent, and a best friend who went about telling her to be herself in the most vague, tone-deaf way possible to the point she thought that friend now hated her. That is also just completely awful. As much as Sena was robbed in that side story since she wasn't the focus among other reasons (it should have been Ghondor's or Sena should have played a bigger role so that it was about her kinship with Shania too as well as Ghondor's. Seriously, even this chapter had Sena kneeling mournfully over Shania when she took her life the first time.), it did show a very ugly side of the City's politics. As much as we should give Matthew, Nikol, Glimmer, and the other characters who make up the City Founders their props, I think the Noble House system was a terrible idea and was always going to lead to at least one person being on such a status-seeking high (Shania's mother) that they'd do literally anything to gain more. Heck, I even feel like House Reid losing some of said status in the aftermath of Moebius S's attack on the city was quite lenient for how terrible of a person Shania's mom was. It's a real fall for a House founded by the direct descendant of Reyn and Sharla. :( Though it also sucks that Shania's passion was art, which was seen as a less valuable occupation in a city based in wartime to the point she felt like she HAD to be a Lost Number. She's kind of a parallel to Joran (which Lanz points out during the Sena quest). Both were artisans (Shania with drawings and Joran with dolls) who weren't meant for combat, but they were both forced into it by the systems of the City's military and the Forever War between Keves and Agnus respectively. And both committed atrocities while having a super lowly image of themselves. Both even died with that acknowledgment, even though the context is different (Joran died taking down D with him whereas Shania simply died after her Moebius Core was hit) But with how the City People are also uploaded into Origin's memory and the worlds rebooting/becoming one again in a proper manner and even former Moebius like Joran being rebooted with it, maybe what Ghondor said at the end of Sena's quest will be true. Shania will be fine the next time around...but yeah, as much as this comes off as a 'in defense of' argument, I do also condemn the bad things Shania did...even though I still can't believe we have a Nintendo game with someone putting a gun to their own head and offing themselves. O.O On a more trivia-related note, Shania and Ghondor remind me of a similar dynamic between two characters in Xenogears. All the way down to the friend betraying the group based on a feeling of inadequacy and being regretful of it as they died. (Then again, there's quite a few Xenogears parallels in this game...and that is not a complaint. I quite love it)
- As much deserved as they are, N's and Shania's meltdowns are...well, painful to watch in some way. But I guess that's a testament to their actual depths not just as villains, but as characters in general. (On that note, when N is saying "My feelings haven't changed. They're the same as they've always been!"...that is the PERFECT broken face.) - There are two ways Noah's Interlink form can use Origin Blade - either Interlink during Unlimited Sword mode, or use the Talent Art when his heat gauge is on the final bar. - Once you've seen how Z strong-armed N into slaughtering his own descendants to revive M, it's even clearer why he snapped after M died to the Homecoming - he crossed the line for her sake, so without her, he has nothing left. - 1:07:40 I think your past self forgot about the fact that Kevesi and Agnians get reborn. - Both Joran and Dirk are like Mumkhar in some way. Joran envied that he couldn't be as capable as his friends, just as Mumkhar did Dunban. Dirk, meanwhile, embodies his heightened savagery as Metal Face. So in other words: Dirk is the negative side of Mumkhar, and Joran is his obscured positive side. - Couldn't past-you guess what kind of "collectibles" would stare back at Dirk...? - Heh, it's fun to see that Nia hasn't changed at all. (Also, good thing Dirk didn't know how Alrest Blades work.)

ETA: Noah screaming at N, "You're full of s***!" was BEAUTIFUL
Seeing Nia was amazing, especially with the Drifting Souls instrumental playing 😭
Chapter 5 and 6 are peak fiction honestly
@@linkalot7415 the later part of chapter 6 sucked though
Haha my class' topic was "Love and its forms", and we saw the story of Noah and Mio as part of that month's objective.
The writing is incredibly dull and lazy compared to 1 and 2, I would leave any class that uses this as an example
@@lilaclunablossom 1 is definitely stronger than 3 story wise, but no way in hell is 2 having a better story than 3. 2 had a horrible first half that took too long to open up. The great last two chapters don't make up for the the shit that came before that as well as the huge copout fan service ending.
N's therapist is who really needs to hear about this... And Lanz's... Really, the whole cast is going to put someone's children through college...
I've watched the scenes at the end of Chapter 5 and beginning of Chapter 6 through various VODs and highlight videos numerous times. Never fails to make me shed tears.
Legend says Sarah dies a little inside every time we get "Homecoming Mio."
this is actually the best game series ever.
I love tragic characters like Jin and N, they're amazingly well written and pull at the heart strings just right.

Pulipuli is truly the most despicable person in the xeno series
Shania is probably my favourite example of expectations create low self esteem in people, her entire upbringing was leading her on a downward spiral, from the only person in her life that saw her for herself and actually being supportive being her dead father, her abusive mother who even Monica wants to knock some sense into, for godsakes thats your only child and you treat her like shit and then get mad when she tries to kill you and everyone else in the city
Ghondor while she comes to realize later still doesn't change the fact that she's horrible at talking to people without coming off as rude and uncaring,
all these factors plus the weight of responsibility and family heritage took their toll on a girl who never had the ability to be a fighter in the first place
none of her backstory justifies killing innocents but it does make her worthy of sympathy because this wasn't an over night change, she wasn't a bad person to start but her insecurities mixed with a degenerating mental state took its toll on her until she came across mobieus and the rest is as we see, I see Shania as a tragic story of a monster that needed to be put down before it could cause real harm but never forgetting that monster was once human and needed support before she eventually broke and nothing could fix her

dont care what anyone else say xenoblade 3 is my game of the year for 2022 such an emotional ride
it’s been so fun reliving xenoblade 3 with your play through :D
Mio is just a great actress. M switched with her in the prison escape battle and played the role of M the entire time until the homecoming ritual.
Another one of mine is Sena being on board with Lanz’s swearing.
i've never seen the term dante be used in this way; what's the definition? [or connotation, even]
@@Highstar7331 sorry. Autocorrect did me dirty that time.
Noah literally wears his hair in a ponytail, and even then I bet he wouldn’t have known how to help Mio with her problem lol.
Cute dorks, I love them all.
1:22:40 as soon as I recognised the drifting souls leitmotiv I sarted crying so hard!
The nervousness and excitement of running up the Cloudkeep to finally see Nia...man I wish I could experience that moment again, the music elevated it to a whole different level.
god dang, the chapter 5 cliffhanger was so wtf, glad I could see your breakdown and confusion live
@@4137Swords I'm pretty sure this is a more correct interpretation
I was JUST watching your Xenoblade 2 Ch7 video of Nia's transformation, spoopy timing.
I'm gonna call it then, I'm the reason this got uploaded today.
when the drifting soul music comes in when nia is onscreen... emotions
the voice acting in this game is awesome, so much better than xenoblade 2
Wow, what mascara is that? The running is amazing! You got that "I was dumped on the limo ride to prom" look down perfectly!
In a world of waterproof mascaras you managed to seriously find the best one to cry in! I need to know what it is so I can share with GF.
This makes my day, thank you for keeping continue this series.
The scene with noah dying infront of his kid made me really sad and idk why
Finally! I know you've been having a rough go Sarah; I'm so happy you got the next part uploaded. Your playthrough has been so fun to watch.
Harry McEntire REALLY knocked it out of the park here. XB3's VA is honestly really impressive
Imagine not playing this incredible series, thrust into success through the admiration of its developers and fans alike. Xenoblade top video games
Man watching this took me back to the day I played through the end of chapter 5 and start of 6. I started crying almost just as hard as the first time I saw these scenes
The first thing I thought when I first played this part of the game and saw Nia get shot was "She's the strongest healer in the entire world, she's gonna be pissed when she wakes up after that"
I JUST WATCHED YOUR CPT 5 VIDEO I'M SO READY FOR THIS! GOD I love your reactions to all this stuff!
Thanks for the awesome content Sarah. I’ve been awaiting your videos for this playthrough lol. Anyways, take care and stay safe.
Glad your back! I finished the game back in September but its been a dream to come back to it and see you finish it off! The soundtrack is honestly insane.
12:22 the absence of Mio’s voice really tricked you.
1:20:07 the happiest of happy dances 😂 after giving Miyabi her flowers. Literally such a cute stream moment 😊
N is Anakin Skywalker actually well written
If there's 2 characters I desperately need as heroes, it's mwamba and kite. Kite's ether missile staff thing looks like it'd be fun as fuck to play, and mwamba is just best boy!
I’m finally playing Xenoblade 2, and I love it so much! Harry’s performance in the scene where N finds out that his Mio is gone is so perfect. This series is so good.❤ I hope the DLC is about N’s son.
Yay! Chapter 6 is finally here! I know why Elden RIng won the award, but Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is the TRUE best game of 2022!
This was well worth the wait! Take your time editing the last couple chapters. I’m looking forward to them!
I like that Nia can't be killed as long as her Crystal is in tact.
It's kinda basic knowledge
That, and the fact that she's an amazing healer, lol. So long as she can use her power, no wound is too serious for her.
The whole discussion around long or short hair was fantastic. What a great bit
It has also been so long since I watched the Chapter 5 video that I have no idea what is going on in the Chapter 6 video lmao
I love that the game has accustomed us to expect Mio's journal at the end of each chapter so the fact we only see her flute at the end of Chapter 5 was the icing on the cake.
@8:00 and onward.
Yeah literally this got me burst out in tears...
For parents to let their kid alone this early...
No one should ever experience this.

Oh so I see you're going with the Endless Now, then.
But N eyes are all sad."
N doesn't and never had real fun torturing people.
He actually *wants* to have hope, but is horribly scared to fail once again, and hence another reason for him to try stopping Noah.
ahhh yes finally the roller coaster chapter
“NIAAAAAAAA” -Malos falling off a cliff
Glad to see we didn't leave this series on a cliffhanger 👍 good to see this back
“Oh? Chapter 5 emotionally scarred you?
*Okay but what if we did it several more times*
Awww yeah! Here we go!
Awwwww Yis!*
I went with long hair for Mio for most of the game after this chapter began, but I did switch back to short hair on time for the game's finale. :)
Nia's return was so sweet, even with the bait and switch making you worry at first...at least until you remember she's a Flesh Eater and she didn't get hit in the Core Crystal.
Sorry. ^^'''

I have complicated feelings regarding Shania.
Though it also sucks that Shania's passion was art, which was seen as a less valuable occupation in a city based in wartime to the point she felt like she HAD to be a Lost Number. Both even died with that acknowledgment, even though the context is different (Joran died taking down D with him whereas Shania simply died after her Moebius Core was hit)
But with how the City People are also uploaded into Origin's memory and the worlds rebooting/becoming one again in a proper manner and even former Moebius like Joran being rebooted with it, maybe what Ghondor said at the end of Sena's quest will be true. Shania will be fine the next time around...but yeah, as much as this comes off as a 'in defense of' argument, I do also condemn the bad things Shania did...even though I still can't believe we have a Nintendo game with someone putting a gun to their own head and offing themselves. O.O
On a more trivia-related note, Shania and Ghondor remind me of a similar dynamic between two characters in Xenogears. All the way down to the friend betraying the group based on a feeling of inadequacy and being regretful of it as they died. (Then again, there's quite a few Xenogears parallels in this game...and that is not a complaint. I quite love it)
1:23:20 OMG IT IS DROMARCH I'VE NEVER SEEN THIS BEFORE!
Finally, after 10000 light years, she's uploaded her chapter 6 reactions! Can't imagine how long chapter 7 will take, lol.
The kid in the first 3 minutes is giving me Fayth vibes from FFX....I just kept thinking "You cried."
1:34:29 that’s the power of buffs+Taieunie’s Ouroboros.
This is easily the best response to picking Mio’s hair
its fine that this took so long to edit, crying at these scenes a second plus time on editing would slow anyone down
I'm so glad to get to see the next part!! Thank you :'D
- As much deserved as they are, N's and Shania's meltdowns are...well, painful to watch in some way. But I guess that's a testament to their actual depths not just as villains, but as characters in general.
(On that note, when N is saying "My feelings haven't changed. They're the same as they've always been!"...that is the PERFECT broken face.)
- There are two ways Noah's Interlink form can use Origin Blade - either Interlink during Unlimited Sword mode, or use the Talent Art when his heat gauge is on the final bar.
Okay naps that I have watched this entire video, I want chapter 7 NOW
Jk, please take your time and thanks so much for getting this out! I know this must’ve taken so long to edit down. Love the content!
Letting a cat decide about another cat's hair. Best way.
... I wonder what kind of treat Mio would like.
Oh my god, I’ve been looking forward to this video for ages!
Of course we need to draw a parallel to the final world… I mean to be fair after watching this it actually does have a lot of similarities… I mean they both die and end up in pretty much an endless void and then come back to life and find their love isn’t dead after all.
It’s actually kinda neat to find all the parallels between the two games.
I finish this game already 6 months to go and he cant exit of my mind.
Thank you RUclips for the lack of notif for this. Really cool.
God she's so pretty!
And nia's pretty too..
M’s redemption is my favorite scene in the entire series!
Also I agree with you, Sarah, Xenoblade is up there with Kingdom Hearts, they’re both amazing series!
Alright, now I can’t decide if Mio’s hero quest or M’s redemption is better, their both amazing!
Yay! I've been waiting for this ever since the Chapter 5 video. I love your reactions ❤️

Just traumatized us over and over with Mio, eh writers? 😂😢
Mio has 2 girlfriends now. She's catching up but still doesn't beat nia's gf count! (Sword GFs and Skype Bird GF, plus protag BF)
I had to take a break when the game became playable after this boss fight cause I was so emotionally destroyed from chapter 5 lol
5:16 yeah, I don’t know how that happened either.
1:01:57 The cloud sea disapeared at the end of xenoblade 2 though.
It's a video game and there could have been a small patch somewhere left over. That's all I was saying lol.
@neurotheosthe Mechonis sword does exist after xenoblade 1, cuz it was never destroyed, it was just broken. The Mechonis sword that we explore in Aionios is the same Mechonis sword left after xenoblade 1, just standing up
I can understand that editing the clips while you cry is not the best method of editing but you did a good job (In xenoblade 1 the developers were crying while making the chapter 1 cutscene)
