I cannot thank you all enough for your support on these videos. It's been such a pleasure posting these and seeing all of your sweet comments. This game honestly changed my life as you will see in this video. I'm so excited for Xenoblade 3, and you can look forward to a Torna video within the next few weeks. Thanks again and do not forget: Make a girl cry? That's not gonna fly. Make a girl smile? You pass the trial!
brooooo this hits home. I cant wait for xc3, ngl xc2 is in my top tier games of all time, has its unique aspect of fantasy, political, psychological, sci fi... even the humor is always there. Thank you for the uploads sarah
This game made a girl cry multiple times, it's failed the salvager's code! (well, I guess it made a girl smile a few times too) In all seriousness, thank you Sarah for making me experience this amazing game again. I'm as excited for Xenoblade 3 as you are!
Brother it made me cry and still makes me cry. I hate the whole “oh they sacrificed themselves let’s bring them back!” Trope because it lowers the sadness and also to me personally sours characters legacy. however it still hurt. Because we don’t know if they lost their memories. We don’t know if they are in 3, if Rex is still alive with them so they are alone or not. But what makes me still cry is that Pyra and Mythra went through so much and finally wanted to be alive to see Elysium with Rex and the gang but the Pyra/Mythra themselves made the choice to sacrifice themselves for the others. So the whole goal was for nigh (till they came back). That and I love love love story elements but I think I’m Gods honest truth I love character elements and development more. So watching this and Chuggaaconroys full let’s play, made me love Pyra/Mythra because of that. And when they sacrificed themselves it broke me. I hope this all made sense. I’m on my sleep medication right now
@Zenithir Sorry, didn't realise there was a new trailer out, I thought you meant the reveal trailer. I changed this a few days ago when the artwork got leaked.
@Zenithir Looks really good. Can't believe it's releasing early! I think it will be even better once we've got the attachment to the characters. Only negative is had it been releasing six days earlier it would have been on my birthday, but I guess that just a me problem.
As am I! It makes me smile seeing how many more people have picked up the series as a early Xenoblade fan back when most people hadn't even heard of it! I'm so happy how far the series has come! People in America were beging to port this over, and we barely got it as a Gamestop exclusive limited to a small amount of copies in comparison to the normal, and now the series is big enough to be to be the series to start with in a Nintendo direct and many people are talking about it.
"We are locked out by Professor Klaus" I still remember the chills I got when I first heard that sentence. After like 60 hours the game decided to reveal its identity as a true sequel *actually parallel universe but you get the idea 😂
It was hilarious how, in pre-release interviews, Takahashi kept straight up lying that XC2 was only a “thematic sequel”. Also A+ misdirection like “it’s not in the same universe as XC1 or XCX”
@@Leathal It's even more hilarious that they explicitly said XC3 is a combination of 1 & 2. A friend of mine immediately turned to me and said "didn't you say 1 & 2 are independent stories?" And I could only reply "yeah I call shenanigans."
One thing that I think is easily forgotten is how tragic of a character Malos is. Because there's a line early that when Drivers resonate with Blades, a part of themselves is imprinted on the Blade. So who resonated with Malos? Amalthus, and his hate of the world was imprinted onto Malos. Malos is only really carrying out Amalthus' will
everyone in this game had a sad memories but the difference are what are their reaction after that events. Amulthus is like us sometime, if we lost faith in good deeds we will can turn to selfish and heartless like him. i also pity for him and every antagonist in this games. there all show their mistake of we human. but given us a lesson to learn how to deal with it. Don't make whoever going to be like Klaus/Amulthus.
A lot of it was Amalthus, but not all of it. They were beings created with world ending power, so it would be a logical conclusion that the Architect wanted them to use that power. Their outlook changed depending on their driver. Mythra came to the conclusion that her power was there to protect because of Addam's influence, though she had huge doubts after Torna which is why she wanted to have the Architect kill her if she really was something meant to destroy the world. Malos took Amalthus's point of view where if that power existed, it must have been for the sake of destruction. He wanted to also destroy the Architect for creating him with such a miserable purpose. So yeah basically Klaus really messed up with the Aegis by not giving them any kind of clear directive but giving them massive power.
Someone tell me that Malos’ speech about Jin wasn’t one of the best parts of this game. Malos cared for Jin, even if he never showed it directly. I goddamn love how this game shows Villains in a tragic light. None of them are purely evil. Even though their actions are what make them evil. They all have things that bind them to that path. Even if it’s wrong.
It kinda reminds me of in Naruto, how Zabuza (guy with mask and big sword) cared about Haku (guy who looked like a girl with ice powers) but tried not to show it, and he ended up breaking down and crying.
@@ShallBePurified Zabuza hits so much harder imo, cuz Zabuza actually sacrificed himself in Haku's honor. And only after his death (when it's too late) did he realize how much Haku actually meant to him. Malos just kinda acknowledges that Jin had a tough time
@@dugtrioramen tbh Malos was a serial murderer. It takes a lot for him to care for someone. Imo Malos Yelling about Jin is enough to say, Malos actually cared
Sarah, don’t be sorry for ANYTHING. Xenoblade Chronicles 2 isn’t just a game. Your experience is a testament that this creation transcends into a work of art. We all understand, myself included, that any work of art, including this one, can have a profound impact on us. That XC2 helped you through a difficult time makes it that much more precious - to you and to all of us that you’ve shared with. Please continue to do what makes YOU happy. We’re all just grateful for you sharing your experiences.
- It's kinda sad to read each party member's observations of the swing set... - To be clear, what Rex saw in those grayscale battles are made from his personal fears and woes. So it was him who feared that Nia felt gravely jealous of Pyra, that Morag and Brighid hated him for giving false hope, that Tora and Poppi felt insignificant for not being a real Driver and Blade, that Zeke and Pandoria begrudged him for being chosen by the Aegis, that Gramps was having an existential crisis...But it ultimately proves that Rex can't consider himself happy if he had to see his friends suffering. - This chapter reveals a lot about XC1. It's also heavily hinted that Ontos, the missing Aegis, may be Alvis - reinforced with his necklace pendant being changed to a red Conduit shape in Definitive. - Don't you remember? Galea is the one who spawned Meyneth. As for her half in Alrest...uh, it could possibly be that one Guldo that dropped an ID card. - There was a scrapped function where Pyra's/Mythra's silent line (with subtitles) would be different depending on some kind of progress - one line suggesting memory regression, another line suggesting they remembered. ...See you in Aionios!
I never really subscribed to the Guldo theory sue to the fact that they are is very different places. Also thanks for the info about the lines, I always wondered about it.
@@masterprick1 Yeah the Guldo is confirmed 100% Galea through the ID card, which sits well with Klaus's parting words. These games are masterfully tragic.
@@MrKittyhead The person it zooms in on varies depending on whose name you use for Pneuma in the game. So originally either they would say, "Hello, I'm Pyra/Mythra" or "Hello, Rex." They ended up not doing what ever scoring system they were going to put in to determine which end you got, and decided to let the player decide what she would be saying.
What I love about this game is that it exceeds in both the macro and the micro storytelling. Macro storytelling is the bigger picture. The connection to Xenoblade 1, the Torna expansion adding more context to the lore of the world and why it is in its current state. It blew my mind. Micro storytelling are the little moments between characters. Every interaction between characters are so well thought out, about their personalities, their own individual beliefs and past experiences, and how they interact with the other characters. The mixing of these two is what makes that ending so powerful. You care about the characters because of the micro story, their own individual struggles and overcoming them. You care about them. The tragedy of the moment comes from the macro story, the bigger picture. Pneuma needs to do this to preserve the world they fought so hard for. It's what makes it so heartbreaking. Pyra and Mythra finally found their reason to live, but they had to choose to sacrifice themselves for the sake of everyone else. It's a tragedy, and it is done so well. I have never not cried at the ending.
It sits in fierce competition with two other games as my favorites of all time. Ignoring the other two, XC2 has managed to take almost 500 hours of my time through gameplay alone, and the amount of time it has spent occupying my mind and thoughts and discussions with friends and online people… I can’t begin to calculate how much of it has influenced my daily activities. The depth to its narratives, characters and world(s) just keeps on going.
This 110%, people really fail to realize how amazing some stories can be, regardless of their medium. Whether compared to games, books, or otherwise, the Xenoblade trilogy is genuinely top tier fiction
@@Boulder7685 Recently finished it and am right now about to 100% it, because I can't tear myself from this world. Even though I've got XB1 and 3 waiting for me, unexplored. This is such a well-crafted world and story, it's really got a hold on me.
I never thought about until now, but when Klaus was checking the hearts of Rex and his friends we see through each exchange with his friends that they are acting in accordance with his worst fears. He is afraid of leading people to their deaths (Morag), or not meeting the expectations of those that look up to him (Tora), etc. But when it is pyra's and mythra's turn there is no fear, that is the evidence of the strength of the bond they have and what Klaus found to be so profound. It was because of this that Klaus chose to entrust to Rex the true Elysium.
Very interesting! I wonder if Pyra and Mythra acting opposite is more some kind of repressed feeling deep down. Pyra wants thing to be proper, after she has had so little control over the events in her life and Mythra wants to kick back and just enjoy life for once?
The ending of XC2 had EVERYONE crying. I was emotionally messed up for probably a straight day or two after I beat it the first time. Hell, hearing the ending song ALONE will still hit me really hard, even after all these years since I first played through it. That's the mark of a true masterpiece of storytelling, in my opinion; No matter how long it's been, or how many times you've experienced it, it still brings out all the same emotions as when you went through it the first time. I cannot WAIT for Xenoblade Chronicles 3.
Despite other beliefs, I do believe there is a logical explanation why the aegieses girls come back as separated entities. - Malos disapeared (turning into particles) during the ending with a cracked core. Normally, that would spell an end to a blade. But aegieses broke all the rules that blades abide to. Notes that Malos has survived worse than this during the ending of torna. he was disintergrated while losing half of his core. - While it's true that Pneuma was vastly more powerful than Mythra, it was Aion that took most of the hit. And that Artifice lorewise is much better than the Sirens, or any other Artifices so to speak. - Processors can transfer and take data from one another. Malos stealing Pyra's data to fix himself is a prime example of this. So, this is my theory of what happened in chapter 10: - After making peace with himself, Malos decide to die, transfering his core data to pneuma's. Thanks to these data that worth an entire processor, Pneuma was able to generate another aegies core for both of her personas, and thus, both Pyra and Mythra come back. Proofs: - As Pneuma entering Aion, the screen showed two aegis cores in the cockpits, hinting at Malos's data was with her. - Pneuma heard Malos's talking as the Artifices self-destruct. Maybe it was Malos talking to her thanks to him being inside her core now rather than his "ghosts". So, by saving Malos from his own darkness, Rex receive from his enemy the warmest farewell gift of all: having Coffee and Milk. PS: it's genius of Monolith for making some of the fanbase wish the exact same thing as the girls at the start of their journey: that they should not have lived :v
@@ShallBePurified While that would be funny as heck, I think it undermine Malos as well as the aegis girls as characters. He had found his position in life and his journey had come to an end. He deserve a well earn rest. For me, the ending of xc2 was already so well made and self-contained that I had mixed feelings for xc3 :))
@@lamvutran9345 I feel very confident that the three Trinity Cores will return. But in what way, I'm not sure. Logos could return as a new persona. They have the capability to create an entire new person. I feel very strongly that the Trinity Processors are necessary to fight the conflict in Xenoblade 3.
Thanks for your playthrough, got introduced to your channel by your Xenoblade Chronicles 3 reaction and have since seen both your playthroughs. Not since Etika have I seen someone enjoy the series so much, which warms the heart. I remember absolutely losing it realising that the two games are more connected than I thought they would be, Klaus cemented himself as one of my all-time favourite characters and Adam Howden absolutely nailing it, again, with his voice acting. I am beyond excited for Xenoblade Chronicles 3 and look forward to watching you play that too.
I find it interesting how Klaus knew Zanza would lose, for absolute certainty, yet Zanza, the other half, had no idea. I guess the original self has more awareness.
Same here, Joey. I started searching for reactions the day the game was announced and Sarah's was so genuine and heartwarming. I immediately ended up watching the few videos she had from her playthrough and then following her Twitch to watch the streams of the ones that hadn't been edited yet. @Sarahkey, your content is so wholesome. Thank you. :)
You should check out Flyann I feel like I got a similar amount of joy out of his streams. And Chuggaconroy is popular in the fanbase with his letsplays but tbh I don’t really enjoy them. But hey you might like them
"It's just a game it's just a game" Repeating this didn't help. The game just made my heart and mind explode a few times! Seeing you react in a similar way made it super enjoyable to watch you. I'm hyped for Torna DLC and your reacts on it. We still have like 6 months or so until Xenoblade 3. LET'S FUCKING GOOOOOO!
I remember playing an European copy of original Xenoblade in the early 2010s after resigning myself that we would never get it state side. And now it's one of Nintendo's flagship titles. It's come such a long way and I'm glad to have caught all of your streams! It's one of my favorite series of all time and I'm glad you show it the same amount love for it that we did 10 years ago. Can't wait for your Xenoblade 3 streams.
It's so fun watching people play and experience games that you also enjoy. I loved watching your playthrough and I'm glad you enjoyed the game so much. Look forward to Torna!
I completely relate to Xenoblade 2 being an incredibly personal and emotional journey. 2017 was a really rough time for me and this game came out just a few weeks after my grandma passed away. There was literally no better game to help me through that time. This is a story that touches upon anxiety, depression, nihilism, (lack of) faith in humanity, and generally trying to find your way in an chaotic and cruel world. It tells you that, yes there is a lot of hardship and tragedy, but you can make it through if you keep looking forward, keep doing your best, and spend your time with the people that you love. It's amazing, simply a masterpiece. Xenoblade 1 was already amazing and means so much to me too, in fact I'd even say I prefer it slightly more, but there's nothing that makes me bawl quite like 2's ending. I hope to create something one day that can inspire and empower people just as much as this game did for me. And Sarah, I hope that you've been doing better recently! Your videos and streams are always incredibly sweet and wholesome, you're truly a very special presence. You lighten up our days, so it should only be fair that your days are well too. Please take care and keep being lovely~
Don’t worry, I was in tears right alongside you, and I’ve seen this ending several times. You might want some more waterproof makeup for when you play Torna: The Golden Country.
@@westonmeyer3110 If XC3 isn’t the emotional equivalent of ripping my heart out, throwing it to the ground, and stomping on it, I’ll be a little disappointed.
@@Mattlovesanime64 not gonna lie with xenoblade games i've come to expect the emotional gut punch and very much enjoying it just because they are so well executed.
@@Mattlovesanime64 dude.... I don't know if you've played the game yet. But you've got a whole thing coming, all I'm gonna say to avoid spoilers is that you are dead right.
Everytime I replay this game, the subtle nuisances of the characters and their moments get brighter and brighter, Malos especially, the game shows us so so so many beings battling with raw, unhealed depression. But Rex is the one person who should be depressed, and keeps moving forward. That's why he inspires each of his friends, and in time, each of the members of torna. Malos wanted to die and destroy everything because he became close to a man who lost everything because of him, it's heartbreaking. What refreshing character depth. This game is awesome
The fact that there are themes of generational trauma and abuse, amalthus grew up depressed and hating the world despite becoming such a religious man, and since blades tend to carry characteristics of(and in the case of the aegis', learn from) their drivers, it can be A very strong allegory for parents passing on their behaviors and trauma to their children. Aswell as the whole blade and driver thing can be a allegory for relationships of all kinds in general
And it handled the “generational” aspect very realistically by still leaving Malos with agency and responsibility, despite Amalthus’ influence. A lazier script would have dumped all responsibility in Amalthus’ lap and have Malos pull a last minute save the world Deus Ex Machina
I really enjoyed your playthrough. I will say I prefer Xenoblade 2 over 1. The characters are better in 2. They all have their own story arcs, drama, and personal ambitions for being on the journey. Rex never comes across as their leader or reason for being there. All the party characters in 2 get the same kind of character arc that Melia gets in XB1.The villains are better in 2 as well. They even managed to make me feel slight sympathy for Amalthus when he had a vision of his mother while dying.
I personally prefer XB1 but I don’t understand why people hate XB2 so much. It’s so much fun and the development is just amazing. So many people shit on this game and it makes absolutely no sense.
@@squibster81 I blame Dunkey. A lot of the initial hate were people who never played the game and only repeated the same things Dunkey said in his video, or only used his video as proof the game was "bad." Nowadays, it's very easy to pick those people out as being a random ignorant hater.
You were definitely not the only one breaking down in tears at the end of this game. The truth about Elysium, the Architect's reveal, Pyra's only lie, Poppi's promise, and that postcredits scene... there was no way my eyes remained dry during the endgame when I finished it myself, and even watching you cover the same ending gave me the same emotional response! Such an excellent game!
I don’t usually shed tears in a video game unless it is The Walking Dead Season 1 or the Bioshock series, but I lost it after this ending. Instead of fearing death, Mythra/Pyra feared living but in the end, the father gave them the gift of life and thus they no longer feared living, but embraced what they now will have. This ending ties in extremely well with the dinner scene (which was just as emotional) in chapter 10. Unreal story telling..

I've been playing games since the first Nintendo was released and this was without a doubt the biggest emotional rollercoaster of a game i've ever played. I can count the games that made me cry on one hand and this game got me the most. It's absolutely masterful. And don't apologize for being emotional. I'd be more worried if you didn't cry at the end of Xenoblade 2. Hell, i'm old enough to be your dad and i cried.
Same here. There have been 5 pieces of media that have made me cry and this is one of them. I always hate seeing comments like this game is just a waifu simulator because these characters have genuine depth to them. The very real and deep themes explored and how they go about them profoundly resonated with me and made me cry at several moments. It's fair to say they overuse certain tropes, but this game is far from cliché
Watching you play through my favorite game of all time has been a wonderful experience, and while it is sad that it’s now over, we have torna to look forward to, then the third game! Thank you for putting the time and effort into the series, us Xenoblade fans appreciate it :)
I understand your reaction, i cried like 3 hours straigh After finishing this game, and still cry everytime i see this ending, glad most people do And the storytelling in this serie in amazing, can't wait for XC3 aswell
I just wanna thank you for the love you poured into this series. Xenoblade means a lot to me, and I'm so happy that there's a creator that genuinely loves these games and this world. This series is still quite niche and I personally don't have any friend to talk about it with. Watching your playthrough of XC1&2 has been some of the best experiences I've had on the internet. Thank you so much.
I try to mostly keep parts where I react a lot. Sometimes there are parts that are more cutscene and less reaction where I'm just watching, so I feel for entertainment purposes it's best to cut that sort of stuff out. My full playthrough is on my Twitch if you would like to see the full thing, though!
I played this game for the first time when I was having a mental health dip. Hell I was also being tormented by nightmares and intense anxiety, and the amount this game helped me get thru those issues was something that can never be replicated so on top of it being an amazing game, it will always be one of my all time favorites. Im glad ive watched your playthru so far and I cant wait for you to experience Torna and 3 when it comes out!
Thank you so much for these. I haven't had many "whoa" moments from media over the past decade or so but the moment of realization that Takahashi had actually been re-retelling the Xeno-gear saga AGAIN only had found a way to divorce it from the expectations that burdened Xenosaga so much was legitimately stunning. Add on the masterful storytelling, Mitsuda's affecting music and that history the ending hits hard. Looking forward to your playthrough of XC3.
I still cry with the ending, every time, and I already know what’s coming. I’m so looking forward for Xeno 3!!! So happy to see you enjoying this game 💞
Xenoblade 2 is my favorite game of all time, and I want to thank you for playing it/giving it a chance, it is an amazing game that loves to play with your heart strings as if it was the instrument by a top grade musician preforming a concert. I first played it when I was in a dark place in my life as well, and there something just hopeful and optimistic in the cast and particularly Rex, even though naïve that just got through to me and I felt as if Pyra/Mythra's final words towards Rex where my own thoughts towards the game as well, in how it helped me through it, and changed my view on certain things. Thank you so much for playing it and loving it and I am excited to be able to see Torna and Xenoblade 3.
The video we’ve all been waiting for. What an amazing journey this game has put us through. Such an amazing game from start to finish. Truly a masterpiece❤️
I’m so glad you enjoyed the series especially 2. This series similarly means so much to me. It really helped pull me out of a dark depression. I think I needed the distraction more than ever because the back half of 2020 through the first half of 2021 was genuinely probably the worst 12 months of my life. It really helped lead me on a journey of self-discovery of what went wrong and what I needed to change. I’m unfortunately still living the aftermath of that and COVID. Part of the consequences of that is lacking I friends but that’s what the Xenoblade community helped me out with. No matter how bad things are I can at least sleep with the hope and the knowledge, it’ll get better.
To help tie up some loose ends for those who don’t know: - Ontos, the first child Klaus mentioned, is Alvis from XC1. The ruby necklace with the same shape as Logos’/Pnuema’s core crystals he wears in XC:DE all but confirms this. -Galea is the scientist who was with Klaus when he activated the Conduit. She, like Klaus appears in both games. In XC1, she is Meyneth. In XC2, it is implied she turned into the boss monster in Morytha during Chapter 7 (Rex picked up her name tag). Whether it’s her or not, the nametag existing more or less confirms her presence in XC2. These games truly are connected in many ways. Melia and Nia already being confirmed makes me all the more excited for XC3. Would definitely recommend playing Torna in the meantime for further context.
I dont think there is anything that indicates the id card found at the bottom of the tree is Galea's. I am not sure that card really indicates any reference to anything other than the game being our Earth and populated by we humans at one point in the past.
Well either way, Klaus wondering if he could finally face Galea again kind of hurts more when you remember what the left half of his body did to her...
That area in the 47:00 was possible for Rex to reach. There is an Out of Boundaries (Elysium) video that shows you areas you can access with some glitches, one of the areas is that part with the broken bridge. Where Rex and everyone stand, you can walk to the right or left, and the alley is a curve so as you advance as you get closer to the other side. Stills a gap, but very short so Rex could get to the other side and reach Pneuma.
I am not an outwardly emotional person, but that ending destroys me every time I see it. The first time through I had to actively close out to the home screen a couple of times because I was so overwhelmed. Hearing Shulk's voice and the visual of the Titans coming home to finally rest absolutely killed me. Easily the greatest ending sequence of the three games. So excited for the XBC3 dlc! And watching the rest of this playthrough too
This ending (and Torna's) make me cry EVERY SINGLE TIME, and I've seen them both like 10+ times. I'm glad to see this game means as much to you as it does to me and so many others. This game came into my life at a time when I really needed it as well and I definitely understand where you were coming from at the end there.
Your Xenoblade playthroughs made me fall in love with the series all over again. Having played these games growing up, it brings me so much joy seeing your reactions to them and you enjoying them so much. So glad I subscribed. Keep being your awesome self ✨️
Funfact: The trinity processor consists of three artificial intelligences. Logos is Malos and Pneuma is Pyra. What the game does not directly tell you though is that Ontos is Alvis from Xenoblade 1 :D He triggered a space time transition event and vanished into the Xenoblade 1 universe. He even has a red core crystal with the same shape like Pyras. I just love the connections between the two games so much..
i adore this game! the xc3 hype and getting back into 2 with your playthrough and finally finishing my ng+ playthrough, it just all shows me why xenoblade 2 is my absolute undisputed favourite game of all time!
I really hope, the developers are gonna see this video. A great testimony, that they have made everything right. It was a pleasure seeing you experiencing it! Thank you 🙏
This is definitely a beautiful series Sarah!!! I’m so happy you had the opportunity to play it. It did the same thing for me (: It’s an incredible journey (: Oh yes!!!! Play Torna golden country (:
Honestly, Rex became one of my favorite characters in gaming because of the line "I'm gonna punch him in his stupid face. And then, maybe have a drink or something." I mean, this damn line, holy shit. Why does this little quip show the full depth of his character so well? This game gets so much hate for bad reasons. Like what, Pyra and Mythra are hot? So what. That just nullifies all of the profound moments? All the bits of masterful storytelling? Come on
this ending hit me like a truck, literally left me a sobbing mess. im glad there's other people who loved this game as much as i did. very keen for the next installment in this series.
A thought about Xenoblade Chronicles 3 has come to my mind: The people from XC and XC2 have a completely different perception of gods, especially of the one God we know as Klaus. The people from XC fought against Klaus and for a world with no gods, the people from XC2 praise Klaus, probably much more after his last gift to the world. Is that going to play a role? That could be damn interesting if yes.
dude, i'm so glad i wasn't the only one absolutely DISTRAUGHT at the ending. when i played this series, i was going through like the worst of breakups and lost my job as a teenager, doing good now but dang the stories in these games are such an awesome therapy method lol, i cannot wait for xc3 this september
Thank you so ******* much for playing my most favorite and incredible game and going through this story with many others that love this game. This series has honestly brought so much smiles/laughs/tears to me. The way you interacted with & talked about the characters really gave me nostalgia as to the way i reacted throughout my play through as well. This game has a huge spot in my heart. Im excited for Torna the Golden Country gameplay and Eventually XC3. Going through this journey a second time with your yt series put me into tears again! This game is a blessing
I love your content, and your willingness to share your personal journey makes it really easily to connect to your content. Chin up, hoping for brighter days ahead.
So hype to see you play Torna, too! The voice acting in it is top notch and it gives so much extra context for the emotional baggage carried by characters that were from back then. I just wish it was a little longer. It left me wanting more!
I finished this game +dlc one week ago and I'am still recovering from that. This game killed me and your reaction is exactly what a game developer should aim for, there are lots of great video games out there but only a few of them can make you feel alive and leave a mark like this. XC2 is the reason why I love video games.
This is a long one. That first cutscene is the moment when every XC1 player lost their crap. Then you find out that the games are taking place at the same time, which is insane. I loved the final battle, it was so epic and the music is incredible. So many moments hit hard during the ending. In the Architect's "trial", the part with Gramps always gets me, especially with that background music(*), Rex breaking down in front of the girls, Malos' last words...The moment when I started crying though was when Rex turns to Poppi, that's when I realised what the promise was. But when Morag thanked Rex and Pneuma that's when it REALLY got bad, again, especially with that bgm, gotta say this game is excellently scored, by the time you're back to the title screen I was dehydrated. (*) it's called Sea of Clouds for anyone interested and it only plays a couple times in the game, a shame it's so under-appreciated because it's one of the best tracks in the game. A lot of people didn't like the ending because the girls came back, even though the game makes it very clear that a blade is fine as long as its core crystal is intact (especially during chapter 3). Now, do they have their memories? In my opinion, yes. Normal blades forget but they're the Aegis, I wouldn't be that surprised, besides they kept their memories after Adam died and the way they acted with Poppi also suggests it. Them coming back as two different blades might be because of the data given to them by Klaus, that's the one part I'm not sure how to explain. Even before DE, people were already convinced Alvis is Ontos, Alvis says something similar to Klaus when he tells Shulk what he really is. The color of his core crystal was a surprise though, I pictured it being blue but I guess they couldn't do that since that's for regular blades. Thanks for posting these so quickly Sarah, I'm glad you enjoyed the game as much as I did, can't wait for Torna!
Another thing in xenoblade 1 that gives me some theorys is the neclace on alvis. it looks like what could possibly be the 3rd Egis's core crystal but its also cut almost as if it was also giving life to someone. It could possibly be why he has these powers to become the true monado and why he knows about everything becuase he too might be an Egis
Hi I'm several years late but hearing you talk about your mental health at the end really resonated with me. XC1 was exactly the same for me. I hope you're feeling a bit better by now!
When I beat this game for the first time I had to go somewhere in the middle of the final cutscene and was depressed for hours until I came back and saw the post-credits reveal
I just finished the game. I also enjoyed and cried in many parts of the game, but especially in the ending. I recently found your channel, I really liked seeing your reactions to the parts I was watching. I'm glad you liked it so much and that it helped you. I'm going to see more of your games but always being careful not to spoil myself haha
You crying just proves how much you cared, how much you loved it, how much you connected to it. Don't worry, we all get it too. I'm not easily moved to tears but a great game can do it. It's heart warming to see. Having lost my wife 12 years ago hurts very much and sometimes I feel stories, particularly games where you gain and lose loved ones, speak to me in a way few others would understand. It stirs many feelings, some I've addressed, some I haven't. When Shulk seemingly lost Fiora or when Melia lost her family, or when Rex seemingly loses Pyra/Mythra it hurts and some of their "final" words or cutscences, like about loving, being upset, perhaps feeling anger, despair and other things or about moving on, hit me on a level few understand, particularly when in my wife's case she had no opportunity to say anything before she died. I wonder sometimes what she might of said or thought if she could have before the end, and sometimes, when these characters say what they say, those truly hard hitting impactful ones we remember, in some small way I think "who knows, maybe she'd have said the same" It has that layer of anime cheese but the important stuff underneath.....that's real. I remember hearing you talk about some mental health stuff and I believe I heard that, like myself, we are both Neuro-divergent (In my specific case it's Autism Spectrum Disorder) so that doesn't make things any easier for either of us. I can't claim to know your circumstances or struggles but all I can say is, don't work too hard, do what you enjoy, spend time with your family and closest loved ones and cherish what you have. Anyway, I hope you continue seeing the value and importance of video games and I hope you enjoy them too.
Such an emotional ending. I actually finished Torna before I started Chapters 7-10, and wow, do things hit harder both as a first time experience and upon rewatching when the expansion of those events has been taken in. So I actually saw Lora's full death scene and Mikhail's sacrifice in Chapter 9 after experiencing their good times and their tragedies in Torna first, but regardless of order, playing it also makes other events like Haze's death and Mythra/Pyra's death seeker status because of what happened at the end of Torna super sad. And we can't forget the tragic story that is the story of Jin and Lora. They deserved so much better. 😭 Jin's life is so tragic, even Malos was driven further to destroy the world because he was being influenced by Jin's sadness and despair and no longer just Amalthus's misanthropy. Malos speaking to Pneuma just before the detonation of the Beanstalk was a nice send-off along with his final conversation with Rex. I'm nervous and yet super excited about Xenoblade 3. Because I know we're getting a great game, though I am fearful of how sad the story can be there, considering the circumstances of their world are already pretty gloomy to start with. The other Xenoblade games had pretty carefree situations turning darker because of something on the outside, but XC3's world is straight into war, children being trained as soldiers, etc.
A very minor detail that I love in the ending is the song that plays when the final blow is struck the Malos and Rex and Pneuma jump into the air is called The Awakening. This song plays in one other place in the main game (to my knowledge) When Rex becomes Pyra's Driver and they burst out of the Abandoned Vessel. It plays in your first battle as a Driver and your last and there is something I find very beautiful about that. The song is also freaking incredible. Also, whoever referenced chuggaaconroy's LP at the end, thank you.
Klaus gave Prya all the data and access codes. he did so after Prya told him of her best memories. the commands and info was transmitted to Rex's core crystal. and the memory lock was released. then later it also seperated them both. and both have all their memories.
11:37 "what Rex is going through is anxiety" Awh Sarah!!! 🥺🥺 Her explanation made that scene quite relatable! I never thought about it in terms of anxiety and, perhaps, stories I hear about mental health. I always find new things from a different interpretation through her commentary, it's brilliant! 🥰🥰
Yeah. That scene is basically Rex projecting his anxiety on his friends. This is what he thinks they think about him after seeing what Elysium really was.
For as many problems as I have with this game, I really feel like these final chapters are really well done. I still don't think I'll finish it myself, but I think I can admit now that it's really good.
Great to relive the game with you! A few speculative things/things that may have been lost to the power of editing: 1. If you change the player character to the different party members there will be spots in Elysium where they all have something to say about the state of the place, it’s a cool detail. 2. Klaus has the same voice actor as Zanza and Shulk(Adam Howden), an indication that they’re all connected 3. Galea is Mayneth, the God of the Mechonis from Xenoblade 1 in case this was missed 4. In the final cutscene of the game(so right after the credits stop rolling) Turters can be seen on Zeke’s shoulder. The little guy doesn’t appear often so I’m glad the devs didn’t forget about him! 5. Remember the choice to call Pneuma either Pyra or Mythra? Well it does actually matter as it will decide who the camera pans to at the end when they are revived with seperate bodies. Both will be silent which leads me to believe they say something like “My name is Pyra/Mythra.” Their wish was to live like a normal blade and they hated the burden they were given so the final gift from Klaus was that they got to live like any other blade: they “died” and forgot their past lives 6. If the Xenoblade 3 trailer didn’t give it away, yeah it’s now certain that Shulk’s new universe and Rex’s Elysium are the same thing going forward. 7. You have until September, for Zanza sake play the Torna DLC!!!
She played Torna in 2021 right after XC2. She said in one of the earlier chapters that Twitch has the VOD from her streams of both games. She is only just now editing the recordings from 2021 to make these summaries to post to RUclips. Getting hyped up for 3 in September.
@@hylian_likely No problem. I wasnt correcting just pointing it out to help other fans find it. I havent watched it myself and only got the twitch app last fall. I am mostly a RUclips watcher too. All the best. Hope you enjoyed the XC3 trailer this morning.
Thank YOU for making these videos, I really enjoyed them, and I can't wait for your Torna videos!
You're welcome Sarah. You're truly a gift to the world. 🌹

An absolute Chad

@@IkanaMaskedMan yes he is
This game made a girl cry multiple times, it's failed the salvager's code!
I’m on my sleep medication right now
@Zenithir No I just changed it :)
You can really tell he put his whole Tetsuya Takahashussy into making this game
I HATE THAT I LOVE THIS COMMENT

I thought we were past adding “ussy” to words, as a society.
@@jessepejibbs3889 it's a product of its time

You can tell they really respect their music too when they list every single member of the orchestra they used to record it individually.
I mean it's Amalthus' fault he became like this and not His Nature's
Malos and Jin’s bond hits harder each time I rewatch/play the game
the end of this game always make me cry
when poppi cries we all cry
Also thanks for the info about the lines, I always wondered about it.
dataminers actually ripped a closeup of the id card and it is Galea's
@@masterprick1 Yeah the Guldo is confirmed 100% Galea through the ID card, which sits well with Klaus's parting words. These games are masterfully tragic.
It’s my head canon that she said “I love you, Rex” or something along those lines.
So, this is my theory of what happened in chapter 10:
- After making peace with himself, Malos decide to die, transfering his core data to pneuma's. Thanks to these data that worth an entire processor, Pneuma was able to generate another aegies core for both of her personas, and thus, both Pyra and Mythra come back.
Proofs:
- As Pneuma entering Aion, the screen showed two aegis cores in the cockpits, hinting at Malos's data was with her.
What would be crazy is if in Xenoblade 3, one of them had the Logos core. And they started talking like Malos.
I didn't noticed the two core appearing in Aion's cockpit. Good catch. I like your theory

Mannnn, Etika's ending stream was sooooo good. I rewatch it on youtube like once or twise a year and it gets me every time
Same here, Joey. I started searching for reactions the day the game was announced and Sarah's was so genuine and heartwarming.

I doubt even Torna will begin to match up to what is going to happen in Xenoblade 3.
@@Mattlovesanime64well, at least there's no way you were disappointed lmao
I've told people that Melia felt like a Xenoblade 2 character stuck in Xenoblade 1. So what you're saying matches my thoughts lol.

Unreal story telling..

looking forward to Torna. take your time and rest thank you so much for this great adventure Sarah! you have made us all joyous.
53:38 "I fell in love"
1:03:03 Lyrics: "I wanna tell you how I feel inside for you. I want you to know" Pyra: "I love you, Rex"
keep in mind the lips are synced for the japanese voices. many people have suggested that she said “im home” in japanese
If you look carefully she’s actually saying blushy-crushy
Watching you play through my favorite game of all time has been a wonderful experience, and while it is sad that it’s now over, we have torna to look forward to, then the third game! Thank you for putting the time and effort into the series, us Xenoblade fans appreciate it :)
I understand your reaction, i cried like 3 hours straigh After finishing this game, and still cry everytime i see this ending, glad most people do
And the storytelling in this serie in amazing, can't wait for XC3 aswell
we all are in this together... narrative is very strong and game impacts those who really open the heart to it. Me included
@@Magic0YT Also the music.... you just can't help it.
The saga of Xenoblade its so a master piece. I cry a lot and THANKS for yours stream 💕
That reaction to "we've been locked out by professor Klaus" I've been waiting so long for that too bad most of the scene was cut after that
I try to mostly keep parts where I react a lot. Sometimes there are parts that are more cutscene and less reaction where I'm just watching, so I feel for entertainment purposes it's best to cut that sort of stuff out. My full playthrough is on my Twitch if you would like to see the full thing, though!
@@SarahKey Nice I'll keep that in mind. I'm looking forward to you doing Xenoblade 3!
"Make a girl cry, that's not gonna fly but make a girl smile, you pass the trial." One of the salvagers code got you good!
Still can do the Torna Expansion. I just started that myself.
I'm right there with ya, Xenoblade has absolutely changed my life. Stay strong fam.
Shulk: We don't need a world with Gods!!
Rex: Oi God, I know your gonna die soon but thanks foh givin us Loif Ya Hear!
To help tie up some loose ends for those who don’t know:
- Ontos, the first child Klaus mentioned, is Alvis from XC1.
@@yourtrubers1728 the cutscene that shows the human meyneth is the exact same tag as the one rex picks up
That area in the 47:00 was possible for Rex to reach.
To be fair, it's not meant to be explorable, so it was probably designed with cutscene visuals in mind.
VERY Glad to hear you played Torna too! I absolutely enjoy these videos - purely positive and amazing. Please keep it up! Big fan
What the game does not directly tell you though is that Ontos is Alvis from Xenoblade 1 :D
He triggered a space time transition event and vanished into the Xenoblade 1 universe.
He even has a red core crystal with the same shape like Pyras.
I just love the connections between the two games so much..
I have no idea how many times I watched the ending of this game during my multible playthroughs or by wathing reaction videos...but I cry everytime.
i adore this game! the xc3 hype and getting back into 2 with your playthrough and finally finishing my ng+ playthrough, it just all shows me why xenoblade 2 is my absolute undisputed favourite game of all time!
When you can’t hear the words, I’d love to believe what was said is, “I found the man I love”
It just melts my heart whenever someone appreciates this masterpiece of a game. Looking forward to your Torna playthrough!
Can't wait for your Torna playthrough! Here's to us all waiting for 3!
I really hope, the developers are gonna see this video. A great testimony, that they have made everything right. It was a pleasure seeing you experiencing it! Thank you 🙏
2 words: Peak Fiction. I can NOT WAIT for Xenoblade Chronicles 3, definitely didn't expect it to come this year
This is definitely a beautiful series Sarah!!!
Come on
No matter how many times I watch the ending, I always end up crying. I love this game
Zeke: What was the reason you showed us these things
Klaus: *_E M O T I O N A L D A M A G E_*
Best Easter gift ever!!! Can’t wait to watch!!
Happy Easter!
this ending hit me like a truck, literally left me a sobbing mess. im glad there's other people who loved this game as much as i did. very keen for the next installment in this series.
Xenoblade 1 and 2 are more than a normal Game, they are a work of Art.
A thought about Xenoblade Chronicles 3 has come to my mind:
The people from XC and XC2 have a completely different perception of gods, especially of the one God we know as Klaus.
XC2 has so many peak moments, I always love to rewatch reactions on this game...
1:03:55 Sarah's reaction to the title screen is so interesting to me, a very small fraction of genuine laugher inmediatly turned into crying.
I believe the same, how they react to Poppi it's what confirm that both kept their memories.
It’s pretty much confirmed. In the definitive version it IS a core crystal.
Yes he’s Ontos
i mean it did change from a key in the wii version
he give his power to shulk when zanza leave shulk body, i think.
The best ending I ever seen in JRPG history.
Top 1 : Xenoblade 2
Top 2 : FF10
Top 3 : Lunar 2 eternal blue complete
Damnit, I cried again. This game's ending hits so damn hard.
Hi I'm several years late but hearing you talk about your mental health at the end really resonated with me. XC1 was exactly the same for me. I hope you're feeling a bit better by now!
Now that i finally finished Xenoblade 3, I can say that she is so not ready for it. I can't wait for her playthrough of the game
Make a girl cry? That's not gonna fly.
Make a girl smile? You pass the trial!
I found this channel because of the XC:DE videos, and was able to watch most of the XC2 streams live. Thanks for getting this playthrough on RUclips!
I wonder sometimes what she might of said or thought if she could have before the end, and sometimes, when these characters say what they say, those truly hard hitting impactful ones we remember, in some small way I think "who knows, maybe she'd have said the same"
It has that layer of anime cheese but the important stuff underneath.....that's real.
Jin's life is so tragic, even Malos was driven further to destroy the world because he was being influenced by Jin's sadness and despair and no longer just Amalthus's misanthropy.
Xenoblade 2 is my favorite game of all time and seeing you react like this makes me feel better about how i felt when i first played it, thank you.
MonolithSoft has perfected the art of making adults ugly cry. And it freaking sucks! 😭😭😭
This was such a joy to watch I’m so glad you loved the game so much, and were able to connect to it this was lovely
Klaus gave Prya all the data and access codes. he did so after Prya told him of her best memories. the commands and info was transmitted to Rex's core crystal. and the memory lock was released. then later it also seperated them both. and both have all their memories.
I have played Xenoblade 2 so many times and always had tears in my eyes at the end
35:13 Klaus had already spoiled XC1 before the battle started. He knows Zanza is about to die and that he’ll go with him, but he spoiled it anyway.
11:37 "what Rex is going through is anxiety"
Awh Sarah!!!
A few speculative things/things that may have been lost to the power of editing:
1. If you change the player character to the different party members there will be spots in Elysium where they all have something to say about the state of the place, it’s a cool detail.
2. Klaus has the same voice actor as Zanza and Shulk(Adam Howden), an indication that they’re all connected
3. Galea is Mayneth, the God of the Mechonis from Xenoblade 1 in case this was missed
Both will be silent which leads me to believe they say something like “My name is Pyra/Mythra.” Their wish was to live like a normal blade and they hated the burden they were given so the final gift from Klaus was that they got to live like any other blade: they “died” and forgot their past lives
Well the ending is mostly left up to interpretation so it can be thought however you want
