I bought one of these kits back in May to work with my Kenwood Aftermarket Stereo. People I talk to on the phone say this is the best sounding car mic they have ever heard. This was a great solution. Thanks
Just got mine today with the 2.5 adapter...just in case. I do have an f250 so it should be straight forward install. Looking forward to finally having the call options available in the truck.
As an FYI the FD2 model will fit MANY Ford vehicles. It works in the 2019-2023 Ford Ranger, 2020 Ford Edge and 2010 Ford Fusion cars that I own. Ford uses this same bracket on basically most if not all their cars.
I have an Econoline 2014 van e150 and I don't see any microphone or factory location but on the dash it says sync powered by Microsoft and I'm able to pair my phone with the stereo but I can't talk to it. The buttons work but it can't hear my voice and I don't see anything. The headliner doesn't have anything at all whatsoever except for a light and there's nothing under the visors the mirror doesn't have anything other than the mirror and there's a cable that plugs in the back. I don't see anything on the steering wheel
About to do this to my 1st Gen Tacoma that doesn’t have any of this. I want a clean install, and I know how pesky they can be to get installed in the right spot for sound quality I’m probably going to get the mic cover from the ford dealership, and order your kit. Actually need the same color that’s in this truck. Think it would be good on a Alpine iLX-507 head unit?
Looking at installing an Android Double Din in my 1996 Caprice, I would like to add a factory looking mic for the bluetooth connection to my phone, this F250 grill looks like it would be easy ti install in a vehicle that never came with one and look factory. Can you think of any others that may look nicer, easier to use or easier to find in the pull a part? something you have a mic for because the stereo I'm looking at has a jack for the mic but no mic.
I've made a few GM mics for installs. we mainly work on German cars. You are the first person ever to ask me for a GM mic. Mics that end up on the site start as requests. Send me an email.
@@rafaelalarcon8299 The converter is sometimes wired backwards at the factory so we have to test them all when they arrive. If they are wired backwards they do not work. We test all the ones we send you for this mistake so you do not need to worry.
This page shows the differences in mics for newer F150. The same applies to Ranger shop.enfigcarstereo.com/ford-f-150-2015-2020-radio-installation-products/
@@Enfig thanks! I have a new alpine HU on the way for my 2018 F150. I may end up ordering this from you once I get around to doing the install. Looks pretty straightforward.
The pic of the mic on your website is different than the one in this video. Is it just an older version? The website also says it's compatible up to 2014. Can you please clarify before I order? Thanks.
Same mic. You must me looking at the picture of the universal mic under it. I spoke to this customer on the phone. Some of the newer F150 have this mic as well. See the website for details.

Thanks for the comment. I'm glad it worked out for you.

What radio are you hooking it up to?
Pioneer is the only one that I know needs the converter.

Thanks for the info. It probably fits most fords 2010+ fords but we dont list cars unless we test them ourselves.
Great job- very informative.
Glad it was helpful!

I looked and I can't find any info on that car. Do you have a picture of the factory mic location?
@@Enfig no, but I'm selling it. Thanks for checking

We have a universal mic but the ford housing is probably better if you can make the precise cut.

I am tugging on the mic cord but it won’t come out. Any suggestions? I don’t want to break anything. Thanks!
Finally got it to come all the way out.
Yeah its taped down. You have to tug it.

Hey thanks a lot I have a 13 F150 with a pioneer stereo I want to get the one it’s a 3.5mm jack? What is the reverse you’re talking about?
Reverse? And Pioneer has a 2.5mm jack.
@@Enfig at the end you mentioned the left and the right are reverse???

I want to keep the factory mic...is there adapter?
I have a 2015 f250 superduty😊
Not that I know of.
Hello, I have a Ford Ranger 2020, is this mic compatible for my model in an Android Head Unit.

Are you leaving the factory mic wire/plug in the headliner? I’m assuming so but I figured I’d ask.
Yes the wire stays. No need to remove it. plus it's probably tied into a bigger harness.
