Which phone would you pick? Also... Who misses the mini iPhone?!? What is apple even doing getting rid of that!
I have the 13PM and just love it. I did get the 15 pro for work and it’s nice but not worth upgrading from 13 pro in my opinion. Plus, green is my favorite color.
I still have my mini but I went to a repair shop and now I’m stuck with no Face ID
@@user-qy3mt9hx4goh dang that sucks! Is that the phone you’re using or did you have to get a new one once that stopped working?
I still use iphone 14 pro and wait 16 pro to upgrade.
@@egertkabilattekivi2496 Nice!! It's hopefully going to be a pretty sweet phone
Only upgrade iPhones if it’s borderline unusable. Even a 12 pro is still a solid buy
I think that’s some really solid wisdom. What phone do you currently use?
Still using my 11, pretty solid but it'll need a new battery
Yeah that’s what my mom and dad are still using and they work great.
@@JonAdamsTech I have a 14 pro coming from a 11 pro that started to slow down on me
OR if your carrier will give you a free phone if you willing to trade in. Verizon wants to give me a new 15 pro for my 13 pro max. For me this is something I would do as i want a smaller phone.
There's not enough differences between a 13 pro and a 15 pro to justify upgrading
I 100% agree
Probably to a layperson who has no idea how tech works
Or it may be just someone who has different values than having the bleeding edge of tech. I find my self on that bleeding edge side but I get why people wouldn’t want to do that.
We need a smaller dynamic island for me to upgrade (I have iPhone 13), current dynamic island hangs a bit too low for my liking hopefully we get some big changes this year.
Yeah we will see. It hasn’t bothered me but I’ll always take a smaller obstruction to the screen. I really wish they would give the under screen camera a shot
Upgraded from iphone x after 5 years. Totally worth it 👏🏻
That’s awesome! What phone did you go with?
Bro, i have an iPhone X since a lot too hahahaha. Probably gonna wait another year until 16 pro to upgrade. Also, i'm from Argentina, where an iPhone 15 pro currently sales at 'bout 3000USD... so, the upgrade cycle is very challengy here hahaha
@@leandrokevinpilz1372 Holy cow that's a ton of money!
@@JonAdamsTech yup! The inflation got us badly 😅😂

I think that nowadays any kind of high end phones is not worthing to upgrade based on new features, because we don't have anymore something that is really "new"
Yep I agree! What phone do you use?
Even a budget phone work fine now these days if you not a photographer and barely play hard-core game on your phone
Even the 11 Pro Max I purchased for $150 is working perfectly fine. Don't buy anything below 11 series or you'll suffer terrbile battery life. 2019 iPhones got very efficient processors
Yep!
Only upgrade your phone when you can’t get the updates anymore or if they’re almost unusable
Yep! What phone you rocking Jonathan?
then just jailbreak.
So u get motorola phones(buy it and then buy another one)
They get unusable only if they're water damaged or by planned obsolescence
Well I thought I could cheap out and just buy a budget Samsung phone as a cheap replacement for my broken 12 pro max. boy what a nightmare. iPhone's are so damn optimised. Even the xs max is faster than the latest Samsung a series phone.
Have iPhone 13 Pro not upgrading until 17 or 18. I just going to change battery in a couple of months. Battery health is currently at 87%. I think the sweet spot is upgrading every 4 years. I use upgrade every year. This the longest i had a phone for.
Well back in the day there were huge upgrades every time so it was somewhat justified but now it’s such small changes so I agree every 4 to 5 years is spot on. Thanks for checking out the video Nemo!
We’re can I go to replace the battery.
@@zayzay97toxhubby depends on where you live, google iphone repair shop around you and you should find a place.
Thank you
Why would you change a baterry in 87% health. 87 health is still a very good health of a baterry. I'd advise you not to change your baterry.
Bro , i have a iphone 13 pro max. Honestly i never felt the need to upgrade to the latest and the greatest every year.
This does all the work i needed and battery life is also great.
I will be keeping this phone for rest of the years until it worked fine.
Nice, glad you like it!
I went through a phase of swapping phones within a year. I had the iPhone 12 PM, then the 13 PM, then the 14 PM, and then back to the 13 PM. I switched every three months. I know it was stupid to switch phones within a year, but I just wanted to try it. Finally, I ended up getting a 14 Pro with 256 GB. One thing I realized is that because of iOS, iPhones will feel the same. The most important things for me are the screen refresh rate, storage, camera, and size. I used to have the Max phones, but they were just too big for me. Now, I am back to the regular Pro, which I still think is big compared to my old XS, but at least it's more usable than the Max versions. I will stick with the 14 Pro until it dies.
I’ve been there too! Glad you landed on a solid phone
I respect any Man that can have a clear case on their phone and not be annoyed enough to clear the dust out of it every 23 seconds.
Haha it’s my superpower
why am i watching a iphone video, i got a android lmao
Haha you’ve been summoned for a very important reason

I set my action button to go into Focus Mode. I like the idea that I can hit a button and silence notifications calls and everything across all of my devices at the same time for as long as I need to.
Yeah that’s a solid use for it! Good idea!
Upgraded from a 11 Pro Max 64gb to a iPhone 14 Pro 256gb mainly because of updated 5G/LTE modems (constant dropped calls in my area) battery life, storage, and better display. Purposely didn’t get Pro Max because of screen size and ever since I have drastically decreased on-screen time and scrolling.
Nice, yeah I’ve wanted to do an experiment and see how low I can get my screen time to, it’s getting ridiculous how much I pick up my phone these days
I had an iPhone 8 for 5 years, ever since 2019. I only just upgraded to a 15 a couple days ago, and I'll probably only upgrade again when the iPhone 19 or 20 comes out. I will make this one last 5 years as well.
That’s great! What color 15 did you go with?
Dude I love your content!
Yo man, I really appreciate it!
I've got a 14 pro max, i got it on release day and haven't seen any need at all to upgrade
That’s great! What do you think they’d have to add to get you to upgrade?
Great ! I’m still using my iPhone 12 Pro 256gb. Recently took it to the Apple Store for a replacement battery and now it’s like a brand new phone from where I purchased new. No sluggish still going strong.
Nice!!
On a serious note, any iPhone from the 12 and up it’s still a good pick, there’s a lot of repair shops that replace the battery for cheap, IF the battery is the problem, cause usually it’s only a faulty battery’s fault for the processor underperforming on 2+ year devices…
Yeah that’s some good advice!
Been using my iPhone 11 pro for 4 years, now upgraded to 15 pro. Such changes for people like me i think it’s because it’s my first time to have a usb-c port, mute button changed to action button and the dynamic island from standard notch. Plus, love the Natural Titanium color 🩶
Those are all great things! I definitely love the color
Finally upgraded to a 15 pro from an XS yesterday due to declining battery life. It definitely makes more sense giving it 4-5 years before upgrading because the changes become significant. I’ll miss my XS though, beautiful phone.
Yeah it was a really beautiful design! What color 15 did you go with?
@@JonAdamsTech I considered natural titanium but I went with black. It’s really a beast of a phone and the 120hz screen is incredible. It’s a great time for people with older models to upgrade IMO, there’s a lot of features/upgrades that have accumulated over the years so the 15 pro should be a great phone for a few years to come.
Yep it will!
I’ve had a 13 pro since launch. The only issue mine has given me is the battery. The dilemma I’m facing is I can replace my battery which requires me to wipe the phone anyway or just get a new one and upgrade to the 15 pro.
I don’t think you can go wrong either way. I upgraded to the 15 pro and love it but I’m sure it’s significantly cheaper to do a new battery. Which way are you leaning?
If you wanna get a new phone just wait until the 16 drops
Yep^ This year
I have the IPhone 13 Pro and I have it since December 2021 the longest I’ve ever held onto an iPhone, due to the fact it was obviously built to last, the battery would last two days when I first got it for a few months, now the battery health is on 85% but I’d say that’s decent since how long I have it,the upgrades aren’t worth it for the 15s and probably be the same with the 16s,I might just get a new battery when this one gets noticeable bad,atm the phone still lasts the entire day
That’s great, glad it’s working so well for you. I really hope tech moves in that direction of lasting longer, gotta be the best way for companies to be “green”
In my opinion it was worth it for me to get the 15 Pro-Max from a Regular-Model iPhone 13 with 6.1inch display!
It’s more comfortable to hold (caseless) thanks to the slightly rounded-off corners than my older one was, I can now take up some Macro-Photography and I like the larger display for watching RUclips. I have the Pro-Motion display now that my 12.9 iPad Pro has and thanks to its USB-C port I can plug in a hub for my Modal-Electronics Cobalt5S Synthesizer, that has a Free App & VST Plugin for building sounds & patches.
I have an iPhone 14 and got it new when it came out nearly 2 years ago. It still holds up well, does everything I need it to and its durable. Realistically this phone could probably last me 4+ years before I want a new iPhone.
Totally. That phone ruled.
13 mini user. Best iPhone. Use to upgrade my iPhone every year until 13 Mini.
Hah I know it’s amazing isn’t it! My only hope is that they make a foldable phone that will be the size of the mini when unfolded then freaking tiny when it’s folded in your pocket. Think you’d upgrade if they do that?
Still use a XS. If it had an ultrawide camera I wouldn't even think of upgrading, its performance is still really solid and the cameras are still well.
Yeah I use the ultra wide pretty much exclusively so that’s worth it to me!
Great content
Thanks!
Well, I just got the 15 Pro because I wanted better camera and macro, it is not my main phone as that still belongs to my 13 mini which to me is the perfect size iphone and cameras are excellent for regular usage but wanted a macro again the the 15 Pro with titanium and size wise yet bigger was not overwhelming like the prior 11 Pro Max I had before the 13 Mini, just to large and heavy for me, sticking with 13 Mini and 15 Pro for now, I do hope they eventually release a Iphone flip version to consider next time around.
I know a flip version of the iPhone would be so sweet, I’m all about less/smaller stuff in my pockets. Thanks for checking out the video!
I still have the 13 pro max. I'm not upgrading until I see some more changes/ upgrades. I'm not seeing much change on the 15 Promax.... my s24 ultra is my daily driver...great video
That’s awesome, thanks for checking out the video! When a new phone comes out will you still rock that Samsung as your daily phone?
Got same combo. My 13 pm says it’s still a 100%. Since I only use it for work O have to charge it every 3 days.
7:41 neither large 6.7" max/plus variant nor small 5.4" mini discontinued variant
6.1" vanilla variant is the sweet spot
Totally
Same thing for the Samsung S series base model and the Ultra one. There's things in both that makes me like both phones so much, but holding it, I find the S23 base model more ergonomic.
Still on my 13 Pro Max since launch. Still good as new. Will only replace the battery. It's at 85 now but it still gets me through the day without me living on a charger
Nice! What percentage is your battery health at now?
@@JonAdamsTech 85% .
I upgraded a year ago from an 8 to my current 13 Pro because the 8 was finally starting to get sluggish and have problems. I'm not a photo person, so the camera upgrades aren't an incentive for me. Besides, it's way cheaper (obviously) to just replace the battery and wait to do an upgrade when the technology advancements make it more worth it.
I think that’s a great decision!
As someone who just upgraded from iphone 11 to 15 pro max.
I can tell for free, there is no point in upgrading, the IOS is the same. Nothing changed

I have the iPhone 13 mini and if possible, I will never willingly opt for a larger phone. This is the ideal size for a phone.

I usually upgrade every year, historically dating back to the 3GS. I was at 11 Pro Max and jumped to 14 Pro Max, then 15 Pro Max. I’m definitely looking forward to 16 Pro Max. I am just a standard parent with an office job mixed with travel. I upgrade because I like tech and I use my phone for absolutely everything from basic phone functionalities to gaming to videoing kiddos. Traveling, I enjoy having the largest battery I possibly can get.
Good! If you have the budget and you like it then why not!
I currently own a XS max i had new since Autumn 2018 & it at 88% health in its original battery. Should i upgrade to 13 pro, 15pro or wait till 16pro? How much upgrade would it be to justify the price?
Ya know you may want to wait for the 16 pro and just start saving now.
That missing “Reminders” app in the iPhone 15 home screen… can’t stop looking at it. also, having only 3 apps in the dock is so bad hehe
I like to live life on the edge 🤣
I’m still on my 12 with zero reason to upgrade
Nice man!
I have the XS Max right now, and Im thinking to upgrade to an iPhone 13 Pro, but at the same time I think I should buy the regular 15 for the USB C and for keeping that iPhone for the next 4 to 5 years

I just bought a 13 pro about a week ago. I am absolutely loving the experience. I’ve been an android user since forever and this is my first iPhone and I couldn’t be happier. I plan to use it for at least 4 years. Maybe then I’ll find justification in upgrading to the latest model. But I honestly believe the 13 pro was one of the greatest phones ever made.
Dang that’s great, glad to hear you’re liking your experience! I agree that phone is so amazing!
I used an iPhone for a year and didn’t like it.
Biggest annoyances:
No dedicated back button
Keyboard is terrible
Predictive text is awful
Can’t relocate icons
Voice to text was unreliable
Also RUclips on iPhone is finicky and sometimes gets stuck in landscape mode and you have to press a million buttons to back out of landscape.
USB-C was #1 for me. I’m glad it has dynamic, action button, etc. I used to have a 13PM and USB-C has been amazing for me since the rest of my devices use that port as well.
I would’ve been annoyed if apple waited till the 16 to add it but I’m glad they didn’t. I have the 15 pro max but I’m keeping this phone till the phone breaks down

The hardware is reaching it's peak now, like there can't be any software out there that make hardware of smartphone run slow or got lag (except you are a gamer or work in multimedia field), we just move into a new era now where even a 200 dollars device still work perfectly fine (especially the old flagship).
That or the big feature is some kind of new battery/display technology where the device has charge for a week. Thats where I think things will go at least.

Forced Obsolescence at its finest. Honestly that is probably the worst thing about Apple, but now that the battery life is getting worse do you think you’ll upgrade?
The reason I like plugging my phone in vs MagSafe because it’s easier to use the phone while charging at the same time .
I’ve got an Anker (upright) charging stand, and I fitted it with a MagSafe charger. I’ve unplugged the Anker and just use the MagSafe. So I can view and use my iPhone 13 mini while it’s charging. It’s the best of everything.
I have the iPhone 11 Pro Max & Apple Watch Series 5. I have no problem with it besides the watch draining a lot than usual.. I got both since debuted. Probably gonna hold out until the 16 or maybe the 17.. that’s if my phone can last that long
I had the series 3 until about 6 months ago, one thing to do is turn on the theatre mode that way the screen doesn’t turn on till you tap it. You still get all your notifications but just have to tap to make the screen come on.
Man. I am impressed at how you reply to peoples comments. Repects. I am going to like and subscribe. 🚶🏽♂️
I appreciate it! I really want people to know I value their thoughts and I want that to build community here over the long term. Thanks for subbing!
Upgraded from the iphone 13 pro max to the S24 Ultra this year. Never ever going back to IOS or Apple anytime soon!
Glad you found something you like!
Bought a new android every year for about ten years. I bought a 13 pro max when it came out and the first time i feel I’ve no reason to upgrade. Tested the 15pro max alongside and everything is just a split second faster. Cameras mean nothing to me as I’m an adult. Zero reason for me. I’ll wait another year and have a look.
Yeah that’s wise man, no reason to upgrade if you don’t find the new phone compelling. What made you switch from android?
Has anyone made a video about processor speeds and at what speed needs to be reached before we’re unable to notice speed increases? Similar to how our eyes especially on smartphones can’t notice much of a difference past 1080p. When all cheap phones become fast and have good cameras people definitely will stop upgrading.
I haven’t seen anyone doing that test but it would for sure be interesting
Just upgraded my Xr to a 15 Pro Max. Just because my Xr already has a bloated battery 😂
How is it so far? Thats a pretty substantial upgrade!
Large phones all day
Glad you dig them!
I'm upgrading to a 13 Pro Max from an 8 Plus and can't wait. I personally can't stand small phones, need that big screen. Like your channel.
Nice, I think you’re gonna love the 13PM then. Thanks for checking out the channel!
I think it’s a waste of money if your phone is still mostly usable, and there are 0 features that you are looking for. I was going to upgrade my 13 PM to 15 PM, but after careful considerations, I don’t think that there are plenty of new features that I will be benefitting from. The BH is still fantastic for my daily usage at 85%, and I can replace it whenever I want to. The only thing that still irks me is the lightning port, since most of my devices are using USB-C cable, as you said, and thankfully I am not going deep into the Apple ecosystem.
I think you made a wise decision to hold off. Thanks for checking out the video!
Hey Adam I got an iPad Pro m1…and I’m thinking of upgrading and I’m currently using an iPhone 7 Plus lol should I go with 12pm or 13p?
It’s Jon, but all good! You should go with the 13pro or pro max, just to get those few extra years out of the phone
@@JonAdamsTech thnk u Jon
Can you use banking apps on an iphone that cannot be updated anymore? I am using xs and use online banking. Please let me know. Im thinking of using my ip7 again. Best iphone for me thanks
Man that’s a really great question but I’m guessing at some point for security reasons they phase out older phones. Not sure for sure though, that’s a super niche question but it’s a good one! If anyone in the community sees this comment and knows the answer please let us know!
My iPhone journey started with a 5S, followed by 7 Plus that lasted me til the 11 Pro Max, and I just upgraded to the 15 Pro Max, I take care of my phones, only reason Ive upgraded is due to software (5S/ 7 Plus) and the 11 PM I replaced the battery twice in less than a year
Oh wow that’s insane to have to do the battery twice in a year, glad you got the 15 pro max though, it’s such a solid phone
The notch is ugly but the Dynamic Island is more annoying because it catches the screen lower down.
I was definitely annoyed at first but now I don’t notice or see it at all.
I had a 6 until the X redesign came out. Then I went turn the 15 when it started supporting USB-C. They’re swapping AirPods, the max and the laptops all to usbc so the 15 is worth buying.
Yeah, I went on a trip this week and having everything with USB-C was so helpful, but that’s just a priority for me for some. Their budget is more important than the convenience.
Depends what you do with your phone. Everyone’s use case is different.
100%. What do you use your phone for, and what phone ya got?
I wish you brought up the physical SIM card slot, I have a iPhone 13 Pro/iPhone 15 pro and traveling to South East Asia having a Physical SIM card is a MUST! I only use my iPhone 15 pro when I’m back in states because I have to keep changing my SIM card which iPhone 15 is no longer viable on doing so hence why I still use my iPhone 13 Pro more often.
Didn’t even know that was a thing haha sorry! What do you do for work where you’re going to Asia that often?
@@JonAdamsTech yes 13 pro was the last Apple product with a physical SIM card. Most south east Asia countries still uses physical SIM cards, you can get the new phones but it’s locked on the specific carrier you pick and you won’t be able to change. I’m a digital nomad I like traveling around Asia and Australia.
I’ve been two years with a 13 Pro Max and I’m going to keep this thing for 3-4 more years.
I bought it in purpose knowing it had excellent battery life (when battery degrades, Apple swaps it for a reasonable fee), it has 6gb of ram as opposed to the 4gb of the 13 (which is future proofing), and a camera system that I’m comfortable having to take good pictures and videos of my memories.
In 3-4 years, I’ll get the latest Pro max and use it for another 5-6 years
Yeah that’s a solid timeline. Also I saw your channel and saw you did videos on Logos Bible software, I use it pretty much every day man!
@@JonAdamsTech that’s awesome!!!!!!!!! Are you a pastor? I did some courses to teach it to Spanish speaking pastors
@@GodExplained yeah I’m a pastor in Orlando Fl, that’s sick that you did a course on that I’ve been using logos for about 8 years and I still feel like I’m just scratching the surface haha
just upgraded from SE 2020 to an iPhone 15, was quite an upgrade :D
Yeah I bet it was haha glad you like it! What color 15 did you go with?
@@JonAdamsTech black, other colors felt too weird to me :D
I personally use a 15 pro, which was an upgrade from the 6s+, best purchase I made, insane camera boost, almost double battery, dynamic island, face ID, and all the new IOS features, but I dont plan to upgrade again until prob the 19 or 20, nothing worth spending 1000+$ every 2 years for minor upgrades.
100% agree, and glad you are liking your phone! What color 15 pro did you go with?
@@JonAdamsTech I got the dark grey titanium, almost chose blue but decided against it when I saw how easily the paint scratched
Yeah I love that color though so it's a solid choice
I still use my '17 Samsung S7 Edge and the experience is still great and the camera never ceases to amaze me for how good it still is even compared to my S24 Ultra. That's the state of current tech, very few improvements and very little innovation :(
Totally true! Have you ever tried an iPhone?
@@JonAdamsTech Thanks, yes ofc , there's an iPhone 13 Pro Max in the house that still rocks!
i have the 14 pro max. ill probably wait till the 20 is out. there isnt a single reason to upgrade when your getting the same product with a different camera lens placement.
Yep! Now if they come out with a foldable that would make me consider it for sure.
In my opinion it’s the best to upgrade every 5 years. You’ll be more fascinated and have a feel of a new device if you upgrade every 5 years.
I totally agree!
When I click on the link for your waves wallpaper pack because I thought they looked nice 👌🏻 it said that the page was unavailable do you know why because my phone is not like incompatible it’s a iPhone 13 so idk why is dosent let me go onto the website but they still look like awsome wallpapers
Hey sorry about that, I actually shut down my store on shopify where that link took you too, I ended up moving everything over to gumroad because it is just easier. Here's the link! techjonadams.gumroad.com/l/waves
Thanks
I have the iPhone 13 Pro Max currently. I think I’ll wait until the new iPhone 16 line comes out.
That’s a solid idea! Also I love the cross of your profile pic, I’m a pastor so that always makes me happy!
@@JonAdamsTech Thank you 😊
Im currently using a 13 Mini but im okay with larger sizes until 6 inches. Plus and Pro Max are way too big for me for everyday use
Yeah man, mini is where it’s at!
im surprised you only have 2k subs. Your video quality made me thinking you had 100k+ subs.
I appreciate that, I can only hope that one day I actually get to that point!
@@JonAdamsTechi really hope you achieve this point in your youtube career i as well thought that you had a lot or subs and likes and stuff though im really enjoying the way toy talk, gesture with hands, explain and the whole filming quality and sound is amazing please keep it up
@@mhmwtf765 I really appreciate it, I've been doing video production for 15 years and this is the most fun I've had with it once I started this youtube channel!
Great vid thanks so much .. What are those cases?
I believe both are the apple cases but I’ve recently switched to a magbak case and it rules.
Heh, im still rocking my Iphone 11 Pro Max I bought when it first came out. Battery is a bit tired, but it still works for my needs. Hopefully I can get another year out of it before I need to upgrade.
That’s awesome! Glad it’s held up that well!
i just upgraded from the 13pro to the baseline 15 and im regretting it tbh… well theres nothing much to it besides from it having the type c port which is not really an important thing in my case since lightning port wasnt a problem 🤷
How long ago did you purchase it? You may be able to return it still!
@@JonAdamsTech welp sadly its been over a month now, so I guess I’ll stick to this for a few more years
i currently have a huawei p40 pro. that was a flagship from 2020 and still keeps up. but i wanna buy the 16 pro max in december just to see what's it like to have an iPhone
