@@micahschupbach I’ve always loved tech and I’ve been doing video production work for the past 17 years so I just put those two things together and started, any specific questions about it?
@@JonAdamsTech I’ve always thought about starting my own RUclips channel. I have a lot of things im passionate about, apple products being one of them. The only area i have little experience in is video production.
I agree with you, there's a size for everyone for different use cases. For me, the 11" seems to be the perfect size as there are many accessories for it, comfortably able to browse and write emails, great for watching videos, reading books and taking notes, still very portable for travelling.
Bought a second-hand 256gb mini 6 for 500 euro, loving the experience of using in both landscape and portrait! Great for RUclips, games and taking notes.
Carried the 12.9 M1 for 2 years. Now I have the M4 11. The 11 is the better size for me. Having experience with both, don't really find I'm missing anything with the 11.
100%! I don’t think I’d personally want to carry around a massive iPad all day. If I was a one device person then I would but I don’t need a 14” laptop and a 13” iPad in one backpack lol
The13” Pro is not a behemoth anymore. I am enjoying it so much more than my M2 11” pro, that is hard to believe. A few years ago, I bought the M2 Pro 12.9” and it was a monster; as much as I wanted the mini-led display at the time, it was not possible for me to the point of hand, arm or shoulder pain, so I returned it. The new 13” model, is surprisingly different. It is not just marketing. Only because I am still waiting for the 11” with nano-texture, just in case I tried the 13” and I am bedazzled: 1. The tandem OLED is beyond expectations, visually superior (by far) to the mini-led XDR, which was Apple’s best iPads display. 2. The thinness of the 13” and the weight reduction is enough to actually enjoy it as a tablet. The size is immersive. 3. I wouldn’t know just by watching videos, you have to experience it. If really in doubt, buy different models, decide and return the rest! Your own experience is invaluable. 4. So many of us want a mini with OLED!!! Thanks for the video Jon, I bought before watching it but these videos are always useful.
Hey thanks for your thoughts, I totally agree, people should order both and return the one you like less, apples return policy may be the best thing about the company!
You shouted out the 12-inch MacBook! Before upgrading to the M2 Air, I used one of those exclusively to basically run our small church. We still use it at our A/V booth to control the media and record audio of the sermon during the service. I know people bashed that computer all the time, but it was more capable than people realized. An M-series chip in that hardware would be awesome!
The m1 chip is just a fancy iPhone chip, and I heard they were playing on putting an iPhone chip in that MacBook, but they changed to intel last minute An iPhone from that time was the iPhone 6, and it’s chip was faster than the cpu they put in it. I’m using the 2016 iPhone se witch is just an iPhone se inside of an iPhone 5s! The iPhone 6s lasted a lot longer than the 6, and that was not because it was much faster than the iPhone 6, it because it had 2gb of ram instead of 1gb It got up to iOS 15 and still feels fast and usable today. There are iphone on ios 17 with only 2GB of ram, one of them is the iPhone XR.
I had a mini since 2013. I had the 1st gen, 4th gen, and 5th gen. I finally upgraded to the iPad Air 11” M2 and I gotta say, the size is welcoming. I don’t know, something about the mini 6th gen just wasn’t enough for me to upgrade from the mini 5th gen. I guess throughout the years my use case have changed. I got the mini originally back in college when I needed a e-reader my textbooks. Now, I mainly watch RUclips, movies, check out social media and web browse. I held the mini 6 and it just felt too small. Never thought I would say that.
Great heads up on the charging cable - I just ordered one. Regarding the subject of the video, I love my iPad mini 2nd generation (I got it brand new over 10 yr ago). It's my ebook reader and perfect for seeing my set lists and lyrics during performances. I'm going to have to upgrade b/c iOS 12 is the farthest it will update to and I have a iOS app to control my PA that will only run on iOS 14 or later. I still may try a refurbished regular iPad from Amazon to see if I like the bigger real estate.
What chord chart app were you using? I used onsong for a long long time with the mini but once I moved up in screen realestate my life got so much better for music specifically, so you may want to try that!
I have the iPad mini, 11 inch, and the new 13inch. The 13inch is the best iPad I ever had. Yeah its big but makes me do more productive things besides youtube. Gave my iPad mini to my daughter and I use my 11inch from time to time.
I went with iPad Pro 11 inch M2 model along with Apple Folio Keyboard, absolutely love this product (watching this on my iPad right now lol). That being said I bought this from Apple right before these new M4 models were announced and have zero regrets especially with those high prizes they priced them at, I spent a little over $500 for both my iPad Pro M2 and Folio Keyboard with my trade in included. Very satisfied and will keep this for years to come .
@@JonAdamsTech I forgot to mention I already had a Apple Pencil 2nd Gen with my old iPad works perfectly fine with this iPad think I’ll pass on it this time around.
I’m waiting impatiently for the new Mini, as it’s the form factor that suits me. Yes, I’ll probably be paying more than I should, but anything bigger would probably spend most of its life in a drawer. I’ve also just upgraded from the XS to a mint condition iPhone 13 Mini (with the same footprint as my iPhone 7). The two devices definitely complement each other. Thanks for the content.
@@JonAdamsTech I was thinking about doing that, but it takes little bit of effort to sell it in the right price and to get another one for a good price, and I am currently very busy in life, maybe when things cool down a bit.
Thanks for that comparison! I really want to upgrade my 9th generation iPad to an iPad Air M2 because of the better processor and the new Apple Pencil pro. I was really unsure about what size to get but after this comparison I’m more likely to go with the 13-inch iPad. I think multitasking, note taking in class and also drawing will be easier with this device.
Mini remains the best even in 2024. Does everything you want an ipad to do and the M series chips are useless. If you want M series at it’s best, get a macbook
I love flipping through the Bible moment. Unashamed! Anyhow I’m in seminary and I’m considering using a iPad while preaching so I’m torn between 13’ and 11’.
I’m a lead pastor and I use the 13 every Sunday. Having your notes big enough that you can step back and move around the stage while seeing your notes still is sooooo nice
I have been using the Mini for notes and general productivity for my business. Just got the 13 inch Pro and it’s a little overkill. I think the 11 inch with Magic Keyboard is going to be my new go-to for meetings and basic productivity. Then I can leave my 14 inch MBP at home….or maybe I’ll just stick with my mini as my main travel device. Can’t decide yet.
The 14 MBP and the 11” pro with Magic Keyboard is my setup and it’s working really really well. Now I just use the mini when I’m reading around the house or traveling
@@JonAdamsTechI’ve gone back and forth on this the past few months. I returned all the Pros and stuck with the Mini all this time. But I need an iPad for the Apple Pencil for notes and drawing diagrams. The mini is just a bit small for that, and I found the 11 was a bit small for that also.
I still have the original MacBook (12”) which I use for casual browsing. I also have a really old iPad Mini 4.
