    I've just done the rear nearside door on my 2014 F10 530d. Your video, and the similar one by David Wade, were invaluable. Thank you! Wouldn't have attempted it otherwise. Couldn't believe how much force was required to get the door card off, especially the first trim clip or two.

    It's the grommet. Not the door that leaks in F10. People thinks it's the door because it gathers around the back.

    I need to solve my leak and understand what you are doing but surely any water should drain away first; how come enough water is building up within the door?

    Nice done.
    I have the same problem with my F11 on both back doors.
    How was yours after fixing it? Did it stop letting water through?

      DID YOU ALSO HAVE THE PROBLEM WITH THE FRONT DOORS? IF NOT WHY DO YOU THINK THE FRONTS DONT LEAK LIKE THE BACK DOORS?

      @@raybutts9133 i discovered as for the e39 which has the same problem with these seals. If the front seal on e39 was bad, there was kind of enough gap between the door and the chassi frame so the water leaks "out" rather than in to the car floor, like the rear will. But i guess it depends where the seal is broken. also not sure if this applies to the f10 aswell. I just did find out my f10 rear passenger side was abit wet so i will have to check the door seal here aswell.. seems like these seal issues keep following me haha.

      Also it depended how the car was parked. If the car was parked for a long time in a slight uphill, with the rear low and front high, upon heavy rain the water would leak inn. Not so much when car was parked flat. New seal solved my issue on the e39.

    my rear door does leak but only to the outside when you open the door, i can see that it leaks from the door card but this is below the lip of the car body so only pours out when you open the door. do you think this is because its only recent and eventually it will get worse and overflow into the car interior, cheers derek

    How do you dry or drain the water under the carpet? Is there a plug can be used to drain or drill a hole?

    • @SampShop
      @SampShop  3 года назад

      Just used external heater to dry the carpet

      @@SampShop , I was able to take out one of the drain plugs to get a bunch of water out. Mopped the rest and now drying the foam using a heat gun. I feel the entire passenger carpet will need to be lifted to dry this properly.

      i use a industry vacuum cleaner and suck all the water out, after that a heater inside the car for a few ours.

      Put Towel after towel on the carpet for several days, it will eventually dry up especially with the hot air running and the windows open. You will know it's dry when the inside of the car stops steaming up

    I fixed leak on my 528i. After adding the tape i used hair dryer, which helped. After removing the door panel a metal clip fell off. It's a U shaped thin metal flat retainer. I spent hours thinking where it might go and got no clue. Does anyone know where it should go?

    On many videos they first remove the black trim where the led strip is. I see that it isn't nessasary in your video.

    WHY did you trust the same sticky tape for the repair? The original failed. wouldnt some good quality adhesive all temperature glue have been better?

    • @SampShop
      @SampShop  3 года назад

      It's not original tape. Bmw saved a little and resulted in leaking door panels. More then half year and still no leaks 👍
