    You want somewhere in between. Not a stupid rocket ship and not a truck that struggles to do stuff. Those old trucks are awesome but not for a daily driver. Like my 2000 f-150. Has few nice things but if they break, they aren't really missed. Drives nice, has enough power to do work and off-road, built like a tank, sounds cool, computer controlled but not so much that it is a pain to work on, and has some safety features so I don't die.

      billy heaton Well fool, that F-1 cant tow 13,000 pounds. A new F-150 can, but then it is full of computers and whole bunch of necessary crap. Maybe next time actually read my comment or lay off the drugs you tweaker.

    Correction, Roman, the best selling vehicle in America is the Ford F-Series, not the F-150.

    • @redd7188
      @redd7188 7 лет назад +3

      what difference does it make?

    • @jamesbeaman6337
      @jamesbeaman6337 7 лет назад +2

      It's just that if you only count the F-150s, other vehicles may sell more but if you include all the F-250, 350, 450 and 550s, there are more units and that is how Ford counts their production quantities. I have not been able to find F-150 production numbers anywhere online. In the end, though, it's about making accurate and correct statements.

    • @redd7188
      @redd7188 7 лет назад +6

      James Beaman I decided about a year ago to investigate this myself about a year ago. I went to the GM website and Ford website because are the top two in truck sales. I saw that Ford counted the light duty and heavy duty trucks separately. I also found the same at the GM website. The numbers did show that Ford sells the most light duty trucks. So knowing that the GMC trucks are nothing but rebadged Chevy's I decided to add both together. With the GMC and Chevy combined the Ford still came out on top. I have owned Chevy, Ram and Ford trucks. Just so happens I had the same sales Manager at the Ford and Ram store. I asked him the same thing we are wondering. He claims to have sold cars for Ford, Pontiac, Chevy, Dodge Honda and Toyota. He said without a doubt he has sold more Ford trucks than anything.

    Like the article on how much the super duty has changed in four decades as the F-series pickups has been the leader for half a century as those would want to compare how much technology has changed the pickup line as those likely got their hands on a post war F-100 and compared it to a '18 F-150 as those know there was several power-train options as those likely have choosen the 3L power-stroke to compare how far technology has changed.

  • @EPAGHGDDEXPERTjohnnyboy

    You mentioned you wouldn't take your family out because of only the one seat. Truth of the matter is many a family was squeezed into the cab with 4 squished in on the seat and the rest sitting on the laps. Wasn't the most comfortable but it was done on a daily basis.
    International brought out the first crew cab with the 1957 model on the lots late 56.

    I will say that the new front end of the 2018 is growing on me. I thought it was ugly at first, but I'm slowly changing my mind. As long as it stays body-color. If the crossbar gets chromed, it'll probably be awful.

    I'll take the F-1 No check eng. light. If it quits I've got spare parts in the glove box and I can fix it on the side of the road - no tow and no $130.00/hr. repair bill. It's so simple only 2 or3 things can stop it unlike the 2018. The F-1 cost $1700 - the F150 about $55,000 - that is 32 times the cost of the
    F-1 ! When my dad bought a new F-1 he wasn't made to pay for a ton of shit he didn't want. When I said I would take the F-1 I meant today - now.

    • @WhoThisGuy515
      @WhoThisGuy515 7 лет назад

      that was the original purpose, yes. However lately it seems the purpose has became more of lifting it to make it useless with big 26in wheels with rubber band tires and a 12in exhaust tip to drive around town and be a douche.

    • @MCatwar
      @MCatwar 7 лет назад

      my calc teacher was talking about how in 08 it cost 100 to fill up his truck. why do people feel the need to buy a truck when they never use it? or just to commute to work? really? half the trucks out in suburban America never get dirty on a regular basis. more people in rural Europe, hell, even in America, have done much more work in single cab short bed midsize trucks than a lot of people today will ever use their crew cab lifted long bed diesel for. I don't get it. they're just fashion statements now, not work tools.

    • @MCatwar
      @MCatwar 7 лет назад

      Boo Ya and that's true too, I know people who regularly use 3500 long beds. the fact of the matter is that not enough of the consumer does. queue the group in my school who all have long bed pkwerstrokes and drive to school with it.

      Go Guy Cars today are built to last longer, 99.9999999% of classic cars you see have either been kept in a garage their entire life and only have 20k on a 50 yr old car that gets put on a trailer everytime someone takes them to a show or they've been fully restored.

    Sure they changed a lot but not always for the better. Back then you could fix your own trucks, and they were made from real American steel. Now you couldn't grease a ball joint. I'll take the simple no nonsense classic over the plastic Rattlebox they're producing for $60,000 these days.

      LMFAO the new F150 not made from plastic dipshit do some research before you type

      bayonne Steel isn't as good, especially in areas with long winters. This is one of my main concerns as a owner of a 2017 explorer, 2011- current explorers are known to be very reliable, but since they use steel, rust is their biggest issue.

      They are the crappiest finish of the big 3. Loose fitting plastic everywhere, sorry if you're not happy with your purchase. lmao

      Let me tell you as someone who works in the Construction industry. When you use those trucks for there intended purpose you need steel. We have brand new all aluminum f350s and everything bends way to easily for a work truck.

    Of course the F series is best selling, you're going to sell more when they're more frequently replaced. I've noticed ford guys tend to trade in A LOT. But really if you consider silverados and sierras as the same GM brand of trucks they're pretty close in sales to Ford, and in many years past higher sales than ford.

      Drew w we do replace our trucks more often, good credit and jobs, around here I see guys driving old rusted out Silverado’s to get their cigs and beer around the first of the month with Harley stickers and Rebel flags on the back glass! They dream of owning a Harley and a slave,,,,,,, I guess

    Good luck fixing a fried ECM but a little aluminum foil will fix the points in the old one.

    I think mr ford might even be offended that they took a vehicle designed to move STUFF, took most of the bed away an put more doors and seats....trucks were not and should not be family haulers! Reg cab with 6 1/2-8ft beds is ideal for moving stuff which is what is was specifically designed to do... People always say reg cab sucks for moving your family, thats because trucks were never designed to do that in the first place! All they have done is taken something USEFUL and cheap to own an made it damn near 20ft long, and made it the price of a small condo.
