    Hi, thank you for your videos. What exactly is the purpose of the profile? Whats written in it an why have different ones?

    • @itwithcarlos
      @itwithcarlos  8 месяцев назад +1

      there might be different reasons why you can have more the one Outlook profile, for example, imagine a computer that is used by two persons, and you can have a profile for each one.
      Sometimes, your data could get corrupted and an easy way to fix Outlook is by creating a new Outlook profile.
      Hope this give you the idea, thanks.

    I am using Office 2013. I went to the Microsoft link you provided and it advised me to change two registry settings. One (the version) was already correct. The other did not exist. It said to set HKCU\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Common\Identity\EnableADAL
    to 1. However, the actual registry key in that location is
    HKCU\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Common\Identity\DisableADAL
    and it is set to zero (0).
    I'm not sure what I should change.
    the link also advised to force Office 2013 to use MFA but that registry key does not exist either.
    I am always reluctant to mess with the registry too much, and really don't like adding keys. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

      Hi David, check if you have another Autodiscover record within your DNS (it could be a SRV, CNAME) and remove it. The other option is trying with the autodicover entry in the Registry. Thank you!

    2:45@ I dont see the file option in my Outlook 365 account.
    You have;
    File
    Home
    Send / Receive
    Folder
    View
    Help
    I can only see;

    View
    Help
    And this video looks like the most up to date version.

    I have o365 account but while configure outlook in office 2016 standard its through the error like unable to connect server

    • @itwithcarlos
      @itwithcarlos  Месяц назад

      I have seen a similar error a few times before. There could different reasons for this error. I would start with confirming that the Autodiscovery record (cName) be properly set up. It could also be a local problem in your computer, flush DNS records and try again, access the Windows credentials and remove any one related to MS 365 and then try again.
      Microsoft always suggest to use the Connectivity tool to diagnose the issue:
      testconnectivity.microsoft.com/tests/exo
      There are people who suggest adding/editing additional Registry to your Windows, however, it could be a little bit more complicated. If you want to try, then google "Registry autodiscovery issues"
      Thank you.

    I have Outlook 365 with the latest updates. I am able to send out email but am having trouble receiving email as the client throws an error 0x800CCC92. If i use the client using MS Exchange config then it works fine, but when i use POP (which i need to use), then its not working as expected and it even does not using that Modern Auth Login window. Kindly guide.

    • @itwithcarlos
      @itwithcarlos  Год назад

      Hi Harold, at this time, Microsoft has disabled the use of Basic Authentication for all MS 365 users. Only Modern Authentication is allowed. On the other hand, MS Outlook does not support POP and Modern authentication, and it is why you can't receive emails in Outlook when using POP. Basic authentication is still allowed for SMTP and it is why you can still send emails in Outlook when the account is configured as POP/SMTP.
      If for any reason you need to use POP, then you could use Thunderbird, It support Modern authentication with POP.
      Hope it helps, Thank you!

      @@hnbright Hi Harold, I may have missed something on the issue that you described. Unfortunately, I haven't heard anything about MS supporting POP with Modern authentication in Outlook. I wonder what you need POP? Why don't you use Exchange configuration in Outlook? It is actually a better option. It will sync not just emails but also calendars and contacts.
      Have a nice day!

      Hello, the configuration depend on the email service/provider. If it is MS 365, the configuration should happen automatically. If the email service/provider is different to MS 365, you need to check the suggested email settings by the provider. Thank you.

    Annoying. How to automate login?

    • @itwithcarlos
      @itwithcarlos  9 месяцев назад

      If it happens every time you open the apps, I suggest checking the saved identities in Windows (in your Windows control panel). You can delete the identities and they will be created when you log in the next time you access the apps. You can also check if the license shows correctly in any of the apps (under File>Office Account>Product Information Microsoft). Hope it helps. Thanks
