    Thanks for the info, very good demonstration. Some ignorant fool backed into my 2019 and dented it so now I've got to remove and repair it. Hopefully it should push back out without much notice.

      Hey thanks for watching my video and commenting. Best of luck to you! If you didn’t already know try using a hair dryer or heat gun on the back side of the bumper to push that dent out

      @@wagonworks803 thanks for your advice on this, was thinking about doing it, now you confirmed it. Just found out my washer fluid reservoir is cracked too, so that will need attention as well. Wish you success.

    Thanks for sharing. Unfortunately I have to remove it to replace my intercooler which was hit by road debris and badly punctured.

      That’s a bummer. It doesn’t take much to damage front end’s on cars. Good luck with the project, thanks for watching and commenting!

      @@wagonworks803 I had to use a trim tool to separate the bumper cover from the headlight area which has small tabs that are easily broken. While it took me considerably longer than 5 minutes I did get it off and swapped my intercooler out. FYI if you ever have to do that remove the sensor from the old unit and mount it on the new unit before you install it.

      @@puffnstuff12hey this is exactly what I’m about to do. I ran over a big metal tiedown strap that fell off an 18 wheeler on the expressway. It punctured my intercooler. I was debating whether I wanted to pay $1000 or do it myself. How long did it take you to do this job? Is it as easy as it looks? Also what plug are you referring to?

    • @puffnstuff12
      @puffnstuff12 4 месяца назад +1

      @@GoldMineArcade If you can get it apart fast it won't take you that long. The hardest part for me was getting those 7mm bolts out from behind the quarter panels in the wheel wells. The MAP sensor in mounted to the intercooler on the driver side and the turn signal plug is on the passenger side and it didn't want to come apart easily for me. If your new intercooler doesn't come with a new MAP sensor I'd buy one and mount it before installing it in the car. The factory GM unit comes with a new sensor but I didn't know that as I bought a Dorman unit. I'd use some silicone electrical grease on it when you put it back together. Check your charge air inlet pipe before you do this job as you might want to replace it while you're in the area. Mine was worn out too.
      Check how loose it is on the turbo outlet because if it isn't snug and can jiggle around the seal is worn out and leaking boost. Mine was super loose on the turbo and leaking at the bottom on the intercooler. The revised hose fits snug and has a new retainer clip at the intercooler which is easier to apply. Getting the clip off is a PITA. I also discovered that when this happened my boost control solenoid also failed so I had to replace it too.

      @@puffnstuff12 I’m pretty sure I’ll get the bumper off fast. I’ve just never done an intercooler and unfortunately I can’t find any videos. You mentioned you got a revised hose that fit snug. Do you remember where you got it? Was it easy to find all the bolts for the intercooler? I have a good mini screwdriver pick set and usually get plugs apart quick. I will use electrical grease when I reassemble and also go ahead and replace the MAP sensor. How did you discover your boost control solenoid was bad? My car is actually driving pretty good. I do have the reduced power message and it’s a little sluggish maybe 80% of normal power

      Hey Robert, if you have an extension you can use for your socket and your socket wrench that would definitely help you. I hope this helps! If it doesn’t, comment back and I’ll rewatch the video- I made this video last year so I’ll do my best to try and explain it!

      @@wagonworks803 If I'm looking at the correct position for this bolt, it's recessed into the wheel well. It's fairly close to the fender. It also states it's a 7 mm socket, but that doesn't seem to fir. It looks like it has a star or hex pattern on the head. Any input or comments would be greatly appreciated!!!!!

    Way to fast!! You had top bolts off before I even knew video on repair even started. Camera was to close on each bolt so I couldn't see where you were working at? The under fender you explained taking 9 bolts out and some extra one, but you need to point each spot out and then show exactly where your removing it from. I think your explaining like everyone has worked on a front bumpers or cars. It was kind of like listening to a recording rather than showing each step while explaining where each bolt is and sizes and then showing a clear video of the possition of where they are at. I had to watch your video 8 times to try to understand what I needed to do. I'm just being honest to help you out with a how to video. You need to pretend everyone watching is like explaining it to your grandparents! 😅.

      I greatly appreciate the feedback and will incorporate such, into future how to collision repair videos! One of the reasons why I attempted to make the video quick, was to keep viewer retention strong, and to cut out all unnecessary dead captures. Were you able to successfully remove your bumper? My son just slid on ice here in Michigan yesterday and pushed in driver side light breaking mount points driver fender was very slightly bent at bottom center making the seam between hood about .25 or less larger he popped a hole in front bumper cover so it has to be replaced. Looking at the car it's hard to even see damage close up I see a gap on lower part of headlamp and the hood/ fender has a bit larger gap now. I can see the top mount points on headlamp are broken. I am paying for the guy my son slid into pulling into his workplace parking lot. It got pretty greasy here overnight. Cars on their side in ditch, off road, and several other wreaks everywhere. My son is a new driver so I offered to pay for other car he slid into. Estimate was $2500.00 👊💥👊💥👊💥🥴👊. Punch in the face for my early Christmas🎅 present😑. I'm pretty mechanically inclined and I want to see if I can replace the parts on my wife's new lease my son was driving. There isn't any videos except yours I could find.

    Too fast!!! Slow it down and show each bolt for at least 10-15 seconds and your fancy fade action helps not at all for practical people trying to take this apart
