It’s hard for mums because there’s places where you are in public and a baby just goes off and then the mum is copping attitude for not being able to get the baby to chill and it’s not her fault. Like on planes there’s not heaps you can do about a baby being upset. Babies often cry on planes and I think while it’s annoying, acting mean towards mums is pretty awful.

And about every 6 months someone tries to bring a baby in. Telling people that the baby isnt 21 years old blows their mind. Every first response is "ITS A BABY ARE YOU SERIOUS,,?? I would assume there's other terms for the age restriction, but wouldn't the age of 21 normally be for alcohol licencing reasons. I'm not over your classification system but I thought 18 was your highest when it came to content related stuff.

    • @nicestpancake
      @nicestpancake 17 дней назад +1

      @@alexbowen8891 technically, when it comes to age ratings for content, we actually have two. 17+ and R. That's for movies.
      Kids aren't allowed in to 21+ establishments generally speaking because 1. Do you want a 12 yr old in a bar and 2. In some states it's actually legal to give kids alcohol, though in varying situations- however, notably, around six states allow kids to drink in bars so long as they have a parent or guardian present, and in sixteen other states, as a funny one, a minor can drink for medicinal reasons. So just in case, in the states, bars & clubs ban all 21 and under folk just as a measure to make sure they don't get in trouble in case someone brings their kid there and something bad happens to them.
      Because something bad _would_ happen to them.

    • @alexbowen8891
      @alexbowen8891 17 дней назад

      @nicestpancake generally speaking we have m15+ which isn't restricted just a guidance, MA15+ which is restricted unless you have a guardian or adult with you. And R18+ which is 18 over only.
      Speaking licenced premisis Admittedly we have fewer states but our 18+ for alcohol appears somewhat simpler especially if you were travelling.
      I would find the us system so confusing in some parts but safe way to play it is 21

    • @alexbowen8891
      @alexbowen8891 17 дней назад

      @nicestpancake there's lots of pubs and clubs in aus that are very social and or family suitable venues. General rule is in the bar serving area no one under 18 unless accompanied by an adult.

      100%. You have to make choices about your wants vs the baby’s needs. Responsible mothers who don’t have people who can watch baby for a bit so they can go out that does suck BUT they would then prioritise and say to their girls night soz I can’t go or can we go somewhere I can bring the baby. If you’re irresponsible you just take ur baby somewhere that’s totally inappropriate for everyone else and also is probably distressing to baby like this.

Like appreciating that not everyone else chose to have a child, and doesn't want to listen to your infant constantly cry, or scream, in places that are supposed to be quiet. It's hilarious that @ 9:20 she thinks that everyone expects mothers/parents to be on house arrest. Just don't take your baby to a place where people paid money to go and there's an expected level of silence. If you want to cut loose, take the kid to a concert with some ear-pro. Thousands of things to do besides a talking based performance in a medium sized theater.
    "When you have kids you lose part of who you are" what an immature and bleak way to look at parenthood. If you feel this level of doom about raising a child, don't have one if being a party animal in to your 40s is "part of who you are"

    People are being so obtuse about this. I’ve birthed and breastfed 3 babies for a year each. I’m 33 now so your 20s are like party time etc but guess what, I didn’t bring my breastfeeding baby everywhere with me. I had to make hard choices about my wants versus the baby’s needs. This was not an appropriate situation for the baby, it was distracting to the performer and therefore ruins the night for everyone else. If you need a night out but can’t leave baby at home go somewhere else like dinner maybe??
    Also a 7 month old baby is more than capable of going without breast milk for a couple hours… it isn’t a newborn needing to feed on demand. Just attention seeking because she was embarrassed for her poor choices.

    • @RaptorGoesRAWR
      @RaptorGoesRAWR 22 дня назад +3

      Not a hot take at all I reckon! Personally I think it's just as cruel to the baby as it is to other passengers. The cabin air pressure shift is painful for the baby and they don't understand why their ears are hurting, just that it's happening. Unless you're one of those parents that drugs them with phernergan or whatever, of course they're gonna cry and scream. Only time I'd say it gets a pass is if it's a non-recreational trip that can't be postponed until the baby is older and less sensitive. Otherwise, if you truly must have a holiday, road trip or cruise it, full stop.

    • @Finkelfunk

Why not take a cruise with a baby or something along those lines, the gentle wobble of a boat is actually soothing for them.

      tbh 3 years isn't enough to solve that. I had an over-night flight behind me, someone had a kid, maybe 7? Who kept complaining increasingly louder while we were trying to sleep. At least the dad was trying to control him, but the mother was listening to some movie with headphones on and kept sporadically laughing. I was too tired to even tell her off.

    Who the fuck even want's to bring an infant to a comedy show? Probably one of the last places I wanted to bring my 10 month old son to... There's nothing for a baby to do there. A place where you can't move around, it's most likely dark where you sit, and you have to be quiet... some people...

  • @Protofall

    I saw the news segment on TV and I couldn't understand why someone would even bring a baby to a show. Even if the baby is was well behaved, its a ticking time bomb before it screams, needs to be changed, etc. But even if everyone else was somehow ok with this, a crowded, loud, dark show is not an appropriate place for the baby itself, let alone an adult show.
    And then she decides to be the baby and throw a tantrum. Skews the story and whinges on radio and national television. Because this is totally news worthy and she totally didn't do any wrong.
    I really don't like the Project, but sometimes they are hilarious in the most unintentional ways.

    I totally agree with you. If I paid good money to see your show,I'm entitled to watch it free from distractions or at least as distraction free as possible.
    Its not illegal but its just not the done thing to disrupt actors in a theatre or musicians at a concert ( more like a classical music gig, not a slayer show) by getting up and leaving during the performance, neither is creating a ruckus at a comedy show. Can ruin the timing and flow of a show and that's disrespectfully the comedianand the audience

    The fact that the child had to be removed from the interview itself proves how justified the guy was for kicking her out
    Babies are important, yes, but they are also extremely loud and cause disturbance everywhere they go. That’s acceptable in many places but not acceptable in some, especially those where your sense of hearing is important…like a comedy show
    Most mothers are responsible enough to realize this and will (temporarily) leave the set/theater/cinema to calm their kid down and get it to stop making loud noises. If the kid can’t stay quiet, it shouldn’t be allowed in there.
    Do whatever you want as long as it isn’t negatively affecting anyone around you. Loud children in enclosed spaces do.

    I would have liked to see some discussion into parallels to other comedians who have had various interuptions during their sets.
    Luke kidgel comes to mind, I beleive he had a clip surface of a baby/toddler at one of his shows, he also has had a handful of people with torretts at his shows - you'd have a better idea of how much that actually occurs compared to clips he might put out (my only real point of reference would be Adelaide shows his done)
    Wild how much this has been on the "news" though, such a non story thats been repeated heaps with bad info.

    her not realizing that she feels like the baby is louder in her completely silent room compared to a show where 700 people are laughing points to me that she doesn't stop to think for a moment about what she's saying and only goes by feel.

It's just not an environment for a child especially not one so young. Everyone pays their ticket, so they should be able to experience the show without being disturbed.
