Not in the military are you?... Some military installations are open to the public, and even have a towns main drag go right through them... But, you can't just go where you want as there are areas that require security clearances, with different levels of security "enhancements," so to speak. HOWEVER "loose" the installation is, you NEVER want to cross over a"red rope" and/or into a marked or unmarked "Restricted Area" without prior authorization (work in that area)/have a reason to be there (air crew on a flightline), and/or escorted by someone that's authorized (guests visiting the "Blues & Royals" or "Horseguards" area, with lots of security and police "escorting" the visitors)... Plus a bunch of other "rules," you'd need to know if going there.

I know these comments are old, but... 'security' changed after that big psyop 23 years ago. I'm a woman, despite my avatar photo, and spent a year hanging out with Icelandic friends in Iceland, in 1978. We used to go to the American base at Keflavik to buy weed about once every ten days. I was the only American and the other people were my three female Icelandic friends. We'd go into the living quarters of the military guys to buy the weed. My younger brother was a Navy fighter pilot and used to fly from Pensacola to Keflavik for training and "fun" and he told me that things were open like that, years after I was there. Anyway, after the successful takedown of "Boaz and Jachin" on that infamous day, the Big /G\ ramped up our so called "security", so no doubt things have changed at bases.

When people are forced to do something that's outside their engrained daily routine, or in this case, doesn't follow their meticulous holiday planning, it affects the "Flight, Fight, or Freeze" part of the brain... That's why you see people not moving when told to leave... They can't -- until their brains can come up with another plan... Their brains instructed them to "Feeze," until the other parts of the brain that controls logic, decode the new instructions from the soldiers, and their brains had to decide on the next best course of action -- what they were supposed to do -- leave... Since, there wasn't anyone to "Fight," and no danger to "Flee," their brains finally decided to follow the directions -- turn, and move their feet, exit via the gates... That's a lot for many brains to handle, especially if they aren't accustomed to making quick decisions on the fly.
It seems like many people regard Horse Guards as something of a photo-op and not the ceremonial guard of branches of the Ministry of Defense. As for the horses, they are disciplined and trained to stand there for hours not to amuse ignorant tourists. People have some respect please.
The venue? That is the wrong word
It is very annoying how rude tourists can be.
Unless they kneel like the lowly peasants they are, they are rude. Right?
Much respect to guards and horses.
The gates should be closed mote often and opened for a short time the area is too crowded for safety.
So right.
They definitely wouldn't shut horsegaurds unless it was absolutely nessesary
I wonder what happened wish it had more context.. I saw the police circling outside the yard and then they pulled the horses
Tourists should be reminded these are working soldiers not a tourists attraction ,
But, someone has let it become a tourist attraction! Videos in the future show the guards being allowed to push tourists with the horse or their boots.
If they didn't want the tourists there they wouldn't be there.
Sure tourists think it's fairy land ,just waiting for distressed princess.
Time signs should use images

Show respect or will be told to leave the areas, police can and will physically remove you.
When I was serving noone went near horses, stood well back to get pictures with guard and horses behind them.

It’s a show put on for the tourists

In the US the military bases and government buildings are not open to random tourists milling about on their own
Not in the military are you?...
And there's no way you would get close enough for a pat or a photo.
@@noninoni9962 WHAT??? I cannot go onto eglin AFB AT ALL. I can only go into 2 area's of NAS Pensacola, unless the blues have the homecoming or farewell shows. both training bases and no access allowed unless you have military ID.
Yes - I do not think letting people get near to them is a good policy at all. To hell with all the snaps of multi-millions of humans from around the world having a picture of Aunt Nelly next to a Horseguard! That is not important!
They forget they are a guest in which ever country they visit!! Such ignorance!!!
What part of 'Please leave' don't people understand. Some things were clearly happening, which meant your safety is paramount. Some people just think there above the law
I'm betting a lot of the tourists do not speak English, so that's why they just stand around wondering what's happening.
Some think they are SO special that no one can tell them what to do, well guess what, we can and we can very easily throw him out with lifetime ban stamp on his passport, and that goes for rest of the ignorant tourists?
It's called "Brain Freeze," from "Fight, Flight, or Freeze." Their brains will figure it out soon... Some peoples brains can't react "on the fly."
Unfortunately you will find these kinds of ignoramuses EVERYWHERE. It's people like that who will find out the HARD WAY that when an armed police officer or armed military personnel tells them to LEAVE and they don't that there WILL be consequences and that they SHOULD'VE listened.
Some people dont know these guys are real soldiers and are armoured units
ff you are told to get out of Horseguards due to an incident, you don't hang around you get away as quickly as possible. - mind you you can't "mend Thick" I think they would be in agony if they had to use commonsense.
They pull the horse guards and clear the grounds because of an “incident.” Especially if I had children, I would be leaving the area immediately...
Demonstration
La morale et le respect devraient remis, dans le savoir-faire , à l'école .
I know those guards and horses are happy it’s closing. Now for peace and quiet with a beer
Oh dear ! The sheeple don’t know what to do - they’ve been kicked out, and they’re all milling around and don’t know what they’re going to do next. Some are going to stand there and wait to get back in, they didn’t have a
plan B… 🐑
What building in London is this filmed. I can't understand the mentality of people who stand and laugh at the Kings guards when they are only doing their duty. As for the poor horses what they have to go through being touched by every Tom, Dick and Harry they can't say #$%^* off and leave me alone. If someone was touched them as many times as these pour animals were touched I think they wouldn't happy either. The guards you a great job having to sit on a horse for hours a day thank you all for the work you do
It is St James's Palace and Baracks of the Household Cavalry/Kings Guard. It is not a public park.
It’s horse guards and the official entrance to St James & Buckingham Palace’s
This is Horseguards ,HQ of the British Army and Regimental HQ of the Household Cavalry since 1660. It was the entrance to Whitehall Palace ,then St James' Palace .
Thank you for telling us where this place is now I know 🇬🇧👍
This area is 'Horse Guards Parade"
I feel so sorry for the horses being manhandled by the public
Not exactly manhandled , that’s a bit of exaggeration.
I think it's funny when the Guards shout instructions to the public and they s... themselves and the horses just stands there and say whatever 💂♀️💂🐴
the horse guards are now calld the blues and royals instead of the royal horsguards the ones in thioos vidio are the life guards i know as i served in the lifeguards for 6 years
Thank you for your service and looking after us in the UK, Bless you all and your wonderful colleagues, the horses. Worth your weight in Gold .
What an honour.
Salute to you! Sorry for all the extreme disrespectful people.
Thank you for your service and for putting everyone right.
Think they need a guard on the ground by each horse to keep the pushy rude idiots away
Get out! We don't have to explain squat. Get out! Now who's in a cage?!
When a police officer tells you leave...you leave and not standing around like your confused.
I served along side the life Guards and Blues and Royals in Northern Ireland great soldiers
WOW how gormless they just stand there...Go visit somewhere else
Some people thought they were switching out the horse's. They didn't know it was closing for the day
The alleged humans need to give the troopers and their horses space and stop acting like they're dogs or kittens. STAY the hell back and just admire them. The troopers and their horses have great respect from and old American Army GI
For security reason the military is not required to tell the public what happen. They cleared the area for the public safety. We have so many copy cats in this world and if told what the reason was, we would have so many people causing shut downs. The pulic is still showing ignorance because if they can't follow simple instructions they knowing the reason would cause a complete catastrophe.🥺
I suspect that their own countries do not have the splendid army that we do. Ergo they do not understand the formalities of our trained soldiers and our traditions. But not understanding that does not excuse rudeness and ignorance. Bless our boy's. 😂❤❤❤❤❤
Probably the woman with the Red scarf who`s in a lot of these videos causing her usual disruption & mayhem she likes to cause .
I was almost sure that she was the lady that molests the horses.
The lady with those yappy dogs …

About time tourists are told too leave.especaily the amount that flow through.😊❤😮
I grew up in London & I never visited this site - ever! Went to plenty of other places during childhood, yet somehow this didn't get chosen for a visit! No idea why, maybe because we had a little old car & disappeared every weekend out to the country places my father loved?
Did you find out what happened? or was is a security scare in which case you wouldnt be told anything?
My mother was born in Britain and if alive today she'd be appalled at this... maybe it's time the king put a closure on it and only allow distance from the guard and horse
..
They are all serving military, no matter what uniform they wear, wether 2 legs or 4. Would the tourists treat the officers in camo the way they treat the horses?
The horse was definitely keeping an eye on the little yappers.😊
It’s had to have been a Security threat
Half of these annoying people did not even brush their teeth or comb their hair.......no respect for how to dress in public!!! Let alone before Royal Guardsmen protecting king's and Queen's livlihoods.

Good, how it should be all the time. Have surprise DRILLS. not at guard change, see how long it takes to get those clowns and fools out past the gates. What would happen if a true emergency came up ???
Well, that was 17 minutes wasted and no idea why they did what they did.

Yes these tourists show no respect that is horrible
People with dogs should not be allowed in tourist areas as animals have to do the nature thing hopefully owners will clean up the mess
So what happened that they have shut it down I didn’t see anything in this clip.
I would like to know about that "unfortunate incident"...The people was taken out, but they stayed watching anyway...
yup, standing there like a bunch of monkeys, looking in -
Too nosy for their own good, I did'nt see what was happening behind the gates, was watching those two yappy dogs barking at cars and anything that moved, so none the wiser to what happened and why those knob head tourists did'nt obey orders, read the posts after dogs had gone and saw what was put. Education was wasted on international tourists, think it's about time we banned them from coming or invested in a big cage with padlocks on to put them in away from the guards and horses. They can still see what's happening, but won't be in the way. thinking where we can put it, ah, that's it, across the street? lol🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Agree 100% no respect
It seems like many people regard Horse Guards as something of a photo-op and not the ceremonial guard of branches of the Ministry of Defense. Every country has its own version of this, we Brits just happen to have more of them. I did not understand the difference until I went to foreign countries that did not have Monarchies or Governments with long, successful military histories. I'd like to think that this is more a cultural/linguistic issue rather than disrespect.
Our soldiers and their beautiful horses should be more protected in this crazy world that it is today, no one should be walking about in military buildings it should be just military there, theres too many crazies from all walks of life nowadays us English people really respect our military as we would if we went into other countries but most tourist do not here they seem to think its a comedy show and they dont give the soldiers the respect that they so called deserve all our common wealth countries,Australia, Canada, New Zealand and all the other countries exspecially the USA have total respect for our military as we do theirs and they have done for centuries
Whatever issues are happening in this location it’s a UK matter.
The UK has a history of monarchy that speaks for itself no comparison with the US, a bit of history knowledge it’s missing.
I wish they would close off this area to the public. I see and feel the stress to the beautiful horses and the men doing their duty. The tourists are all disgusting, and it's a great example of how all peoples of all countries seem to be the worst they can be. It's just so sad. Please, someone close this area off to the public that has no respect for themselves or to others. I wish the King would see these videos and comments !!!
So funny that to me this was done because of a security problem and people still stand there waiting for something to happen.
I think its funny how they want a picture with the horse but are afraid of it.
Personal body space…people.
They're like those zombies in Dawn of the Living Dead. 😆
Why isn't there a description of the "incident" that caused closure?
Why should there be ?? Just get out !!!
Maybe it’s no one’s business…
Incorrect remark in your opening description. People where Asked to Leave, not Everyone Kicked Out,
What part of "Guards" and heavily armed soldiers do tourists not understand? It's not a cosplay, folks.
So does anyone know exactly WHAT the "unfortunate incident" was that got Horse Guards closed?
Why did we not get a reason for the closure? I feel like the video was going to let us know.
I'd be gone you wouldn't see my backside for dust
Horses gone, guards gone, everything locked up and people are standing at the gates looking at an empty courtyard.

I dont understand Y people still hang @ the gate when the venue has been closed down due 2 some problem.
Id be concerned about bombs or a shooter.
Tourists r sure odd creatures.
People go away, your visit is over with inside. Nothing is going to happen good bye
People can be really stupid at times, the area is being closed down for some reason maybe for a security reason. Yet these idiots insist on hanging around.
Just go away. People just plaster their face up against the gate. Ugh 😩

I have a question. In the winter and it snows do the guards still sit in the horse box?
Good question! I hope someone answers!
I have seen them still in the boxes when it was actually snowing, but snow in London rarely lays for long and is usually minimal. Still cold and wet though!
Very Good.👍👏
yes i don't know if them pups were concerned mostly been there nothing was said but King guards may had notice thw strange behaviour of he's horses i noticed they were quitely went back in side ?
I am sorry but i don't understand what happened? Could someone tell me please thank you
Obviously a credible threat. They moved horses out of harms way as a lot more armed cops showed up!!
I don't know what camera your using but that footage was crystal clear
Not an "unfortunate incident". They're prepping for Beating Retreat, in all probabilty.
Gates are closed as Horseguards Parade, through the arches, are used for practise sessions for Beating Retreat. This occurs every year.
I don’t understand what happened? I’ve watched it twice. The lady with dogs walked them across the street?
Looks like a credible threat!!
When do the Royal Horses get a gallop in field
They go after they groom them and feed them!! They only work for 1 hour a week
The King should be very proud, these young men and women so focused and sworn to there traditions, surrounded by all walks of life, waiting to judge your every move it's crazy, but you all don't skimp, you keep it real, and it's a beautiful thing to see.

There are enough armed police to keep the public behind the bollards and away from the horses.
I want to apologize as an American. I am appalled how Americans act!
Were you there? I did not see people who looked like Americans.
@@grandmajane2593 You can't tell by just looking these days - everyone wears the same clothes. When I was a kid in London in the 1950's Americans stood out like a sore thumb, always brandishing their cameras & wearing fancy suits & wild 2-color shoes, & talking really loud & bragging about who they were! Everybody hated them! Nowadays most Americans are laid back & casual to the point of sloppy - 'shoes' are more likely to be flip-flops! I know - I now live in the US! But you know on the other hand maybe it's a good thing that people are feeling more comfortable and relaxed.
My opinion is that the guards and police don't have to give an explanation to no one. If they tell you, get out, you go...
Since there is absolutely nothing else to do in London let's just stand here staring through the gate and taking photos of nothing
As the last civilian/visitor leaves, the horses are in, and the doors and gates are firmly closed, a fellow in a police uniform says, “ Oh, thank God.”.
