Casiopea and T-Square are the two of greatest Japanese fusion jazz rock bands of all-time. Since long time ago until now, I'm still loving Casiopea and T-Square. Both of them are so awesome. 😊😍😇
The white haired guitarist, Masahiro Andoh, along with T-Square, helped a lot with the composition of the OST for the Gran Turismo series, including the main theme of the game "Moon Over the Castle"
Minoru Mukaiya (向谷 実), Casiopea's keyboardist, composed many of the train station jingles in Japan. He is a fan of trains and is the producer of the Train Simulator series (game).
That is exactly it. Minoru Mukaiya is actually a train otaku, and has written jingles for many stations on the Yamanote Line that runs through the center of Tokyo, and is also involved in the production of a train driving game.
Casiopea and T-Square are amazing, these guys and Masayoshi Takanaka got me back into guitar and music all together. The chaotic fun I see in these performances are amazing and enjoyable to see. I'm glad people like you are starting to react to these for the first time since these guys are majorly underrated!
Aakira jimbo drumming style is influenced by western and brazilian music, you can hear a few bits of brazilian flair chops and fill-ins on the live sets of casiopea
hey..thanks for the reaction.!!.😀.T-Square also famous in japanese fusion jazz..they also have a very good songs like takarajima, truth, omens of love, please do more of them....by the way, former casiopea members, akira jimbo(drums),Tetsuo sakurai( Bass), and Minoru mukaiya(Keyboard) recently make a group called Katsushika Trio, please check them out. its fun..
If you want to know more about T-Square and their music, you should definitely listen to "SISTER MARIAN". And the song FIGHTMAN is by CASIOPEA. Love the second reaction!!
You should listen to The Square's "Sunnyside Cruise" or "Night Dreamer" for an intro to them. Also, you should listen to TRIX - 敦煌 (Dunhuang), or 毛根ファンク (Hair Root Funk), or Impact Hair Root Funk. I love the synth part in hair root funk, it's so cool! There another band like Casiopea and T-Square. They have one of Casiopea's ex drummers from the 90s, Noriaki Kumagai, who was with them for a short time while their drummer Akira Jimbo in this video went solo with Tetsuo Sakurai, the original bassist who has now been replaced by Yoshihiro Naruse in this video and still with them now. Mitsuru Sutoh, the bass player with the white bass from t square is also in TRIX.
T-Square is also like Casiopea a jazz fusion band that started in 1976 (both bands started in the same year lol), they were equally as popular and influential in Japan as Casiopea but maybe slightly less know than them outside of Japan. Also funny since you mentioned Cowboy Bebop, the solo saxophonist of The Seatbelts' Tank song (the 1998 Cowboy bebop opening song) is Masato Honda and before that he was actually a member of T-Square from 1990 to 1998, he was replacing the original T-Square saxophone player Takeshi Itoh (the one you see in the video) who left the band in 1990 but came back in 2000 after Masato Honda left. Another Fun fact: if you're into 80s video games, the popular Super Mario Bros theme soundtrack is actually inspired by T-Square song "Sister Marian", and the famous Street Fighter 2 Guile theme soundtrack is said to be inspired by their song "Travelers". Also Koji Kondo (the legendary Nintendo composer of Mario and Zelda games) cited T-Square as an influence on his compositions.
The drummer on the right with the white drum set is that same guy you saw in domino line and the others! dude is insanely different compared to his drumming in the 80s
T- Square is an amazing band as well. Their songs are IMO more catchy in terms of melody, bc the wind instrument player mostly lead the songs. You should definitely check these T-Square-songs out: Control (live 1990), Truth (live 1994), Omens of Love (live 1985) and Knight's Song (live 1997)
To the whole Casiopea + T-Square thing: This was a collaboration-ish concert because both bands are and were very popular in japans' jazz scene. Casiopea was the band that wrote FIGHTMAN. But they also played some tracks from t-square and others from casiopea too. 1:47 Both names are/were correct. As far as I know, T-Square changed the "The" to just a "T", because there was already a British band with that name. They wanted to avoid any confusion. But I don't know if that's right. And Minoru Mukaiya, the man you mention in 3:05, was there from the very beginning of the band until 2006 I think. And in the 80s/90s T-Square had a band member (a saxophonist) Masato Honda, who also is a member in the band SEATBELTS by Yoko Kanno, who made the entire soundtrack for Cowboy Bebop (if you didn't react to them yet I highly suggest this band to you too. Especially the theme of the series "Tank". Honda plays the entire sax solo there.

Whaaat?! That's so cool!
If im not mistaken, Casiopea's Pianist, Minoru Mukaiya, makes almost every, if not every, subway chime/jingle you here in Japan.

HE'S THE PRODUCER OF TRAIN SIMULATOR?!?!?!?

Also fun fact legendary composer Shiro Sagisu was apart of early years of T-square

I watched a couple more songs from this show and both the bassists are just shitposting the whole time, it's amazing
Hahahaha love it.

The sax player is an only child.
I love that random trivia!
