  • What the heck!? It's another reaction to a Jason Dead suggestion!
Jason has had quite a run this week.
Dave is a fan of Casiopea and digs their in the pocket, groovin' fusion.
Thanks for the suggestion Jason =)

Regarding the DX7... I saw Casiopea in the strangest gig in Fälledparken in Copenhagen around 1990, and at that time the keyboard player had a rack of something like 16 DX7 modules.

You are right. This is Fusion Jazz from 80s. They are from Japan and I saw them twice in Jakarta, Indonesia

I'm really starting to like these guys! Casiopea? I'm going to have to remember them. This is the second song I've listened to by them, thanks to me being subscribed. Casiopea can get away with playing jazz because it's encouraged in Japan.

The KX76 as well as the KX88 underneath are actually both just midi controllers routed to a TX816 which acts like multiple DX7's stacked on each other.

Dave has reacted to these guys before hasn't he? Because I recognise them and I don't know where else I would have seen them.

It's Casiopea, he knows them before, they were pretty popular at that time, if you've been into jazz fusion in the 80s you'd have heard of them.

Very nice funk piece. great groove. Quite danceable. Here's a melodic track from the group marillion with some nice exotic elements. its the tune "The Fruit Of The Wild Rose'. Couldn't find a video but this link has some cool artwork to accompany the tune ruclips.net/video/AcsX4tAqgKc/видео.html
