Welcome back! Glad to see you again. Y'know it never occured to me that Asukas eye thing sort of resembled a biblical angel, that's a good point. On the topic of religion in Guilty Gear yeah it's actually especially common, especially Christianity. It's all over Asuka, many other characters have it too like Leo whose swords are cross shaped or Slayers coat being loaded with crosses lol, Ky is also a devout Christian. Potemkin is also likely Hindu, and Bedman?s theme evokes themes of samsara which is the concept of cycles including the cycle of death and rebirth which is common in many eastern religions. Asuka isn't necessarily religious but religious themes play into his story and the story of much of Guilty Gear. This is definently the densest song in Guilty Gear Strive, which is absolutely fitting for Asuka, and I'm not even completely sure about the meaning of everything yet. His character is one of the main catalysts for the events of the series. He was a disciple of The Original, aka the philosopher who discovered magic (and who went on to become Happy Chaos), Asuka was also the leading scientist on the Gear Project and was good friends with Fredrick (Sol) and Aria (Justice/Jack-O*). Despite his good intentions he betrayed Fredricks trust and later he used Aria as a base to create Justice, who went haywire thanks to outside intervention and waged war on humanity for a century. His relationship to Sol and Aria is core to the story of the series but I just don't know how to sum it all up succinctly lol, it's so complex. But you can imagine that the weight of his sins must be enormous. His alias, That Man, was mentioned all the way back in Missing Link, and made sparing non-playable appearances throughout the X-XX era. In Guilty Gear 2 he was a boss and the end of that game was when his full name "Asuka R Kreutz" was dropped. He was a major character in Xrds story too but still not playable, but the end of that game was when the hood finally came off. Xrd and Strive were where his plot with Sol really started to move and by now his story is mostly resolved, and finally he was made playable, at the very end of the 2nd wave of DLC characters, as pretty much a celebration of GG turning 25, it was a huge deal. He's the most complicated character in the game, and some people have even said in all of fighting games. He casts spells using pages from the Tome of Origin, which in gameplay sort of acts like cards. He has 3 decks he can pull from that have different combinations of spells, he can "bookmark" (draw) them to have them ready for use, and there are all kinds of effects including tons of projectiles as well as placing his staff on the field which can influence the way his projectiles behave. He also has to manage a mana gauge, spending the mana to use the spells and finding spots to refill the gauge manually, some of the spells he can use are also solely used to help manage mana. Mana also gives him a massive defense buff. With mana he has the highest effective health in the game but if he runs out of it he takes double damage, making him by far the lowest effective health character in the game in that state, and he has to wait for his mana to fully charge back up before he goes back to normal. Basically, as a mage he is 2nd only to Chaos but without it he's just a normal guy, in fact he's pretty out of shape too lol. The way he's characterized in gameplay is pretty funny, the mix of omnipotent magic combined with his physical patheticness leads to him reacting to things in funny ways The whole thing with the "That Man" alias is really interesting. Originally it was believed to only apply to him but in reality due to how much history was lost/not recorded during the war, That Man naturally came about as just a person to lay the blame on, but it applied to more than one person, the other one we currently know of being Chaos who wreaked havoc during the war, but it's highly likely there are more individuals whose actions have been put under the name. Either way as silly as it might sound it's such a perfect alias for a character perceived to have caused such immeasurable harm, it's like everyone on Earth has been hurt by them so you don't even need to elaborate on what you mean by "That Man". The Asuka you play as in Strive technically isn't even him. The real Asuka is living isolated on the moon rn but he made a clone of himself off screen named Asuka R# (in German, which Asukas name derives from, you could read the clones name as Asuka R Doppelkreu(t)z, like doppelganger or even double cross) Asuka R# doesn't seem as burdened by the sins of his counterpart, which lets his curious nature shine through. He's apparently on earth collecting data for the real Asuka. You can also choose to play as the real Asuka and he'll have some different dialogue, but the clone is the default. Wishing the best for your mother and other family members. Good on you for doing so much to help, it must be hard but it's the right thing to do especially when family is so important to you.

This is my favorite boss in the game. Granted, my sorc is so overpowered I rarely have to deal with any boss mechanics in the later game. I want to go through the game on ssf so I can spend more time enjoying the fights. Right now I’m just having a blast being as powerful as possible and zooming.

Slayer isn't important to the guilty gear lore most of the time because he's retired, the most important thing he did was fighting bedman to a standstill in xrd because he was the one of the very few people who could challenge him. Xrd Bedman has victory line against slayer that basically was telling slayer if he's going to play the spectator role, than he shouldn't interfere with human affairs

Both Asuka and Happy chaos are the main villains of the series it was revealed in strive that both of them have the title that man, but the that man that appears in the games before strive was usually Asuka

This is one of my favorite theme in this game, if i had to give my top 5 themes they would be 1. The Circle 2. The Gravity 3. Drift 4. Hellfire 5. Symphony

Luke, I wish copyright laws were like this. If you only said in your RUclips Videos, like, let's say you put an Olivia Newton John song on RUclips, with her singing, and the tytle of your Video said, Physical, by Luke Tadem, they'd have a reason to copyright clame you, or copyright strike you, but if your video had a tytle like this, Olivia Newton John Physical by Luke Tadem, then RUclips would know that you put her name in the tytle, which should indicate that you're not trying to put your name in her song. However, if you were to put in your video, a number of songs, how would you go about doing this? How would you let them know you're not putting your name in the songs? Would you have to put the names in the description? I wish RUclips was more friendly, and would help out in this situation. They should ask you if you want to give the names of the songs so you don't get a copyright clame. Right?

Something that struck me when listening to this is how closely it mirror's Sin's theme (The Hourglass), both in lyrics and cadence. Sin, Ram and Elphelt all have a theme of 'running on' through their ost tracks, which I suppose makes sense given that they are more or less raised as siblings.

Each Contingency contract is a seasonal even and each has a different theme and song. There are some tracks that relase outside the game called EPs. They are character songs basically. Some vocal tracks are ingame as part of important events or story. Some vocal tracks that are ingame include CC themes (gone after the event), Wolf Master (il siracusano boss), Lullabye (chapter 8 story), Under Tides boss theme and Stultifera Navis boss theme (THE GOLDEN AGE WILL RETURN AGAIN). Ps: You probably won't like all the songs. The variety is insane. Cheers. Edit: About Contingency Contract lobby themes, they are there as a kind of rest spot. CC is a hard event, so after trying and retrying the same stage many times you take a few minutes to relax to some tunes.

Draped in death the howl of lore, I take to mean “clothed with death comes the abrupt/shock of history” basically a poetic way of saying now that someone has died, their bones in their closet comes out roaring/rumbling for all to see.

This is one of the best tracks on the album for sure. This song has elements of what makes Morningrise great.

It seems like a million people have told you already, but as much as I like Babymetal, this is very much a Electric Callboy song right down to the progression. But you're right, big RGG vibes on this one.

Since you like RPGs, I would suggest my favorite classic JPRGs which are Lunar Silver Star Story Complete, and its sequel Lunar Eternal Blue Complete. They were originally on Sega CD, and then Complete versions were released on the Sega Saturn in Japan, and then the PSone which got a U.S. release. It's like the first RPG series to ever get full anime cut scenes. The original games were also known for its higher quality music as well since they were on CD in the era of cartridges. Silver Star Story was like a complete overhaul, with new story and such to make it more like Eternal Blue in quality and pacing. It was recently announced that there will be a remastered collection of the two games released on all the various consoles and PC early next year.

If you like game music style, you should listen to Saltatio Mortis. Medieval metal band, great Musik and videos. A new one is "Finsterwacht" with englisch subtitles, other are " Pray to the hunter ", "The dragonborn comes " or "My mother told me " . They also a great live Band.

Casiopea and T-Square are the two of greatest Japanese fusion jazz rock bands of all-time. Since long time ago until now, I'm still loving Casiopea and T-Square. Both of them are so awesome. 😊😍😇

The version of the song in this video actually is not the Mint Jams version. The Mint Jams version is a slightly shortened cut of this performance, with some of the bass solo and some of the drum solo removed. That being said, I consider this performance to be a serious study in slap bass playing. You don't even have to include the solo-- the rest of the song is what slap bass should sound like, IMO
