Great reaction, thanks! Definitely you are not in the wrong place, haha...
The solos were provided by the western set of the Kami Band (well, it's actually the current set of the band since the latest performance of the eastern musicians was in January 2023). They are (in order of the solos): Chris Kelly and CJ Masciantonio (guitars), Clint Tustin (bass) and Anthony Barone (drums).
The song (the studio version) went initially under my radar (not much a hard rock fan and I was new to BABYMETAL back in late 2019). But then, I listened to the live version (from the Legend Metal Galaxy live album) and the intro got my attention, specially the drums solo and that blastbeat in particular with Barone using his personal signature technique, the gravity blast.
The song represents the more adult side of BABYMETAL both on the choreography and also in the lyrics with a very unusual theme for them: jealousy (as you noticed).
This live performance speaks for itself (it's a real thing, not a compilation, btw). Legend-MM are two of my favorite shows (if not my favorite)... for many, many reasons. 😁
Until next time!
🤘🦊
Yes, me too. The more I see from this show, the higher it goes 😁🤘🏼🦊
You do a nice job with your reactions. Very respectful, very attentive and thoughtful. So glad you're enjoying Babymetal. I was only introduced to them a couple of years ago and they now occupy a very singular and special place in my listening. I love your musing do they make the car playlist or not. Yeh, they definitely make the car playlist! Always enjoy your reactions keep up the good work.
Thank you so much for the kind comment!!! They are a truly awesome band and I am so thankful for everyone getting me to check them out. 🙂
Love your comment too and I agree!
Ahh it's interesting, some songs are better car songs than others. Its a complicated dynamic considering the visuals (dancing and acting) play such a huge part in Babymetal, so sometimes just the audio only doesn't hit the same.
That being said, I'll blast any Babymetal album in my car on repeat 😁🤘🤘
That´s the magic of Kawaii Metal, which was invented by BABYMETAL 😉 Nice reaction! The Legend MM concert was Momometal´s birthday concert (she became 21 on March 3rd). It was amazing!
"Kagerou" is a great song, a little bit more on the serious side, and very heavy, musically. I don´t know which version robote7679 recommended, but it might have been the "Rock am Ring" 2018 performance (a Rock/Metal festival in Germany, near the famous "Nuerburgring" race track). Su-Metal solo, rocking out on the stage, very freely. Quite unusual for BABYMETAL performances, but very beautiful. A sight to behold!
I think our reactor might have gotten a little confused because this was definitely the version I suggested. I'm guessing Vocal had the same request as his was a paid. But I'm just happy that we got the Kami intro, it's so good and adds so much. Best wishes.
@@robote7679 Yeah, the intro adds so much to the performance!
Su ain’t “delicate” Su is astounding. Power, control and beautiful tone. Also her versatility is off the scale.
Yeah, delicate wasn't the right word.
Nice reaction! I was one of the probably 15-16.000 attendees at the two Legend MM shows held at the Yokohama Arena to celebrate Momometal's 21st birthday. I can confirm that everything was outstanding: the production, the performances, the crowd energy-everything was cranked up to 11. Kagerou was played in the middle, but Babymetal has often extended intros to give the girls time to get some water and catch their breath. While you were right, the Kami band is not part of Babymetal; they usually get at least one song with an extended intro to give them time to shine.
Metali (メタり!!) is another song that usually has a Kami band intro theses days, so feel free to check it out!
A note that the official Metali live cut the Kami band intro, and so did the Summer Sonic performance, to get the Kami band intro you need to watch the Legend MM 2024 one.
@@Hymnodic thanks for that detail!
I am truly envious. Every song from the Legend MM concert seems to be on another level from even Babymetal's typically perfect performances. Definitely seems like there was some special magic in the air that night.
@@Hymnodic Cutting those intros is really as shame as in both performances the intros do so much to just magnify the energy of what the ladies do.
Look at this lucky mo fo right here!! 😊
Good reaction. They first played this song on the 2018 tour, but at that time Su was performing it as a solo and she was freestyling her dancing.
Also we didn't know the song title at that time - it was spotted on the set lists as 'Tattoo'.
When the album was released in October 2019 we finally learned the song title - and Su was no longer performing it as a solo since Moa and the chosen Avenger for the shows at that time joined her on stage with this new - and more adult - choreography.
Since then of course the Kami Band of the West have added their instrumental intro.
the red lighting and flames very well used to create a 'heat haze'. Also this is prob the only choreo ive seen that is, as you say 'adult', it seems sultry/steamy and is the only one ive seen where the choreo uses moves to amplify the fact they are beautiful women in a 'sexy' way? which is unusual for BM..
I'm happy that you're still enjoying Babymetal! Yes, so many different styles and surprises around every corner! And trust me, it took me awhile to become completely acclimated to the dichotomy of sounds .. but now, it all sounds normal to me haha.
I really love this song for many reasons. Some of my favorite choreo. Lots of quick floaty fluttery movements to match the lyrics, very graceful. I think this was one of the first more "adult" songs of theirs, which to me is just cool, like "oh our ladies have grown up now, ok! This is awesome!" I interpret the lyrics similarly myself, about a relationship gone bad due to her partner cheating but making her believe it's not happening, and or it's her fault. Pretty different than the cutesey child-like stuff they grew up performing for sure!
But, it's such a cool indicator of how they've evolved. I myself didn't become a fan until a few years ago so I didn't experience the same "watching our little girls grow up" feeling that the majority of fans did, but it's still cool to me! I started from start to finish when I went through their catalog so I felt like I did experience that "proud uncle" type of feeling a bit!
They are so cool and awesome!
Adorable. Inspiring. Powerful. The words I would use to describe them.
Edit:one more thing about this song, one of my favorite parts is Su's cry at the end. She's a master at conveying emotion on stage and that made me think of the anguish one feels when they know their relationship is coming to an end.
Nice one.. I love the song, the band is impressive, my favorite drummer he is a beast.
👍👍An awesomely awesome performance🔥🔥🔥🔥. Love it. 🦊 🖖❤
Some Babymetal songs have the Kami Band go solo before the girls walks in. Definitely awesome!
Took a few times listening and then loved it as a solo with Su just vibing to the music, but performed by all 3 awesome and just got to mention that entrance by Su 😮 cool 😎
🤘🏼🦊🤘🏼
Su's entrance was definitely awesome!!!
The other live version of this song is older and has the Kami Band of the East doing an instrumental intro.... check it out 🤘
Nice reaction! Anthony Barone is a monster on drums.
Yes!!!! Thank you!
There are lot of interpretations what the song is about which is some of the beauty of their writing, the word Kagerou in Japanese also has lots of meanings and one of them is Mirage or Heat Haze. The song was originally titled Tattoo, why it changed I'm not sure.
Interesting. I have repeatedly seen references to a song called "Tattoo" but could never track it down. Now I know the story. Thanks so much for that info.
The song was referred to as "Tattoo" on set lists before it was given an official title.
It changed when they decided on a title when they were putting together the Metal Galaxy album.
Similarly, 'Shanti Shanti Shanti' was on set lists as 'Ind-Metal" before it got an official title.
@@robote7679 It was performed quite often during 2018 before it got an official title.
Try searching RUclips for "Babymetal - Tattoo (Rock on the Range 2018)", or "Babymetal LIVE @ Rock am Ring 2018".
@@rickwagner- Wow, thanks for all that. Best wishes.
GREAT BAND/DRUMMER
Nowadays they are 26, 25 and 21, while Yui left the Band at 17 due to health reasons. Originally they were on a 10 year contract but since tha April of 2023 they are a new Babymetal. And thex are no longer a small idol group under the control of a Manager but the girls are in control of the Band.
This songs came before the "TRILOGY OF LIGHTS".
Kagerou (Tattoo) or “Heat haze” is about someone who was at first suspicious about her partner, then begins burning up in anger by the end of the song. This song uses a ton of Japanese onomatopoeia, which is why it sounds fairly repetitive. The Band is the Western Kami Band who tour with Babymetal for their US 🇺🇸 Tour and mostly European Tour and equally good as the original Kami Band.
Kagerou is a moody song by BABYMETAL with a tempo of 97 BPM. It can also be used double-time at 194 BPM.The track runs 3 minutes and 31 seconds long with a G♯/A♭ key and a major mode. It has high energy and is some what danceable with a time signature of 4 beats per bar.
Western Kami Band:-
Anthony Barone - drums (2019-present).
Chris Kelly - guitar (2019-present).
CJ Masciantonio - guitar (2019-present).
Clint Tustin - bass (2019-present).

Not really one of my favorites either but the Kami Band intro on this one is really good. I would recommend something like Syncopation instead. Amazing song!
pls react to more babymetal live 🖤🖤🖤
Copyright issues made this one a huge pain, but I do WANT to do more!!
The songs you're referring to about armies and conflict are actually metaphors for internal struggle or standing up for yourself (Metal Kingdom, Divine Attack, Road of Resistance), surprised you didn't pick up on that. Also it's kind of just coincidence I think that you're hitting on those songs first when they have SO many songs with different themes. I mean.. they have one about playing hide and seek with ogres ;) (Catch Me If You Can)
🤘🦊🤘
The title is wrong, this isn't a compilation. This is Legend MM 2024. The only major differences between the compilation of older concerts, and this is that Momo's voice is in the back up vocals (allowing for the great harmonies), and it's not a compilation.
🦊🦊🦊
To be precise this is the Kami Band West. This means US Musicians that were originally hired to support their US and European tours but since the April 2023 they support the girls everywhere.
It is neither and the song is one of their secret Songs. It gives the Band a better position to ddmonstrate their capabilities
. To be precise Momokos Birthday concert rescued this Song.
