Nice reaction. 'From Dusk Till Dawn' is a rare treat. It was only on the international release of the second album (the Japanese release had 'Syncopation' instead) and it had only been played live once - that was at the Hollywood Palladium in 2017. Unfortunately the proshot video from that performance, ironically, got caught up in some sort of copyright issue and has never been seen - all we had from that one performance was shaky fancam videos. Thanks to a fan campaign to get it onto the 10th anniversary album they did finally perform it live at two of the Budokan 2021 concerts and that was where this was filmed.
5:23 Reaction start. This is one of the underrated hidden songs from BM second album and fans totally love it. Today it was announced Knotfest Australia 2025 lineup and once again BM will be part of it. They will resume the World Tour in Latin America starting this weekend in Brazil and i can't wait for it. Keep enjoying BM songs and see you next time.🦊🤘🔥
Hi Jake, you don't miss a trick. Yup, Knotfest in Brisbane, Australia 2 March 2025. Tickets go on sale Monday 21 October. 09:00. It sucks that I should be at work at 09:00 Mondays, but cough, cough, I'm already feeling poorly, but I think I can battle through to that morning, then my illness will make it too hard for me to work. So, I might be late that day, just to make sure I can get tickets. They look to have some good VIP packages; I just wonder what the price of those will be. Hope you're well Jake.
Nice reaction!!!! One of my favorite songs "From Dusk Till Dawn". The first time I heard it, I had goosebumps all over my body, I was so impressed and amazed by SU's vocal skills!💕🦊🥰
"From Dusk Till Dawn" is considered a rarity for many reasons: style, vocals, language, song's release and live history, etc. Regarding the musical style, this is a rare mix of dream trance with metal. Vocally, the song starts with some of Su-metal's falsetto (not the first time we hear her doing it). But it's even more impressive when she sings those crazy notes in her head voice with full power. Lyrics are fully in English (which is still a rarity even today) and never published them officially (so, the subtitles here may not be accurate). They only released it with the international version of the Metal Resistance album while the domestic (Japanese) version includes "Syncopation" instead. The song premiered live in 2017 at Hollywood Palladium in LA but they got some issues with the live footage (apparently regarding copyright, which is kinda ironic) and it wasn't performed again until 2021at the Budokan, where this footage is from. 🤘🦊
Speaking of Skrillex...in 2015, Skrillex played Ultra Japan and invited Babymetal to perform their song Gimme Chocolate...with a Skrillex twist of course!! LoL!! Vids are out there, use to be a proshot one you may still find but most of them got taken down..A LOT back then, so I don't know what you can find these days..so might just want to go watch it for yourself and maybe not do a reaction... Oh, and Babymetal first met the guys from Metallica back in 2013 and opened for them in Seoul, Korea in 2017!! Thanks for this reaction and as always.... Put your Kitsune UP!!
Great reaction! "From Dusk Till Dawn" is something very special, not just because it was performed just two times... it is an extremely unusual song for the BABYMETAL portfolio, and it somehow touches something in your soul. The performance and the stage setup are breathtaking, right? Yes, it is her real voice, you could even hear the (very) slight glitches she makes, and you can hear the reverb from the PA if you listen very carefully. The second verse has an echo effect on it. Moametal has some effect on her line, too, but I think she is live. The spoken words are most likely backtrack, but it sounds like Moametal, too. The instrument you mentioned reminded me to a "Otomatome", when I listened to the song the first time. I think they used a synth with an artificial Oboe sound for this, but the tone... Otomatome 😄
Always gives me Goosebumps, and that high note Su hits just gives you a lump in the throat . This song, as you mentioned, feels like a religious song sang in some ancient temple . 😁🤘🏼🦊🤘🏼
Nice one sir, and that Metalized Nsync intro... 🤣👌 Metallica is one of the girl's biggest inspirations early on. Since they were originally all J-Pop idols in training, Metal was completely new (and scary at first) to them. But, after watching Metallica live in Japan early on, they realized Metal is an extremely powerful genre, and were inspired to deliver their music with such energy, passion, and drive as Metallica. Of course, they all love the genre now, after being 14-year veterans of it, haha. From Dusk Till Dawn is absolutely amazing! I love that descent from the angelic Dusk to the chaotic madness of Midnight at the breakdown, then the sudden ascension into Dawn, with the shift to a major key, while being "bathed" in the "morning sun". And yes, this is Su's vocals at their upper ranges, she is extremely talented with her vocal capabilities for sure! On Budokan 2021: It's an octagonal stage, at the center of the venue, surrounded by the Kami Band (North, South, East, West), which is then surrounded by the audience. This show still had heavy COVID restrictions, so ~10K venue was at less than 50% capacity due to this. Speaking of Skrillex, Babymetal was on stage with him a while back in Tokyo 😆. 🤘🦊
Very often, music critics point to certain works as masterpieces. We rely on the opinion of experts. When the average listener hears this piece by BABYMETAL, he doesn't need to explain anything and give any arguments, because he already understands that "From Dusk Till Dawn" is a masterpiece. This is an axiom that does not need to be proven. Masterpiece of music.
Thanks again from Japan 有難う💛。You are correct. This song is very different from other BM songs even if we know that BM's feature is musical diversity. FDTD has been performed only 3 times to date. Only a limited number of fans who were at Hollywood Palladium on June 16, 2017 (like Rick Wagner) had been privileged to experience this song for 4 years. On February 16, 2021, when the intro started, everyone at Budokan (including me) was firstly shocked and gradually god excited understanding what was going to happen. At the end of the song, however, everyone got confused with what he / she witnessed because it was too surprising and mesmerizing. On the following day (Feb.17), the audiences came to the venue expecting the setlist would remain the same and FDTD would be played again. Once this song started, many of them (including me) just stared at the stage without moving as if they were trying to burn the performance into their retinas. Su-Metal did it perfectly. "In the end !" Ethereal voice. And Moa and Momoko did perfect choreo like angels smoothly dancing around the goddess. Oh! I actually saw and listened to this artistry twice for sure, but still "was it real?" (Even after viewed it in Blu-ray video)
Maybe a little echo effect to make it sound more ethereal, but it's 99% her voice. She can definitely sing in falsetto 😊, but this is the song where she does so for the most part. I love how she move from falsetto to lower notes and then burst 100% full power! One of my top favorites, unfortunately, it has been played very few times. 🤘🦊⚡️
💕 ⚡ 🍑 / 🌅 I was at the Hollywood Palladium for the world premiere of this song back in 2017. More importantly, also in the audience that night were Su's Mom and Dad. : ) Would have loved to see one of the two Budokan 2021 performances. They took it to a new level. Even though they had a full camera crew, apparently there were rights issues that prevented the pro-shot footage from the Palladium concert from being released. Fortunately we now have pro footage from the 2021 Budokan concerts, even if it's only included on the most expensive, "THE ONE" fanclub only complete edition. 'From Dusk Till Dawn' was on the international edition of the second album, 'Metal Resistance'. The domestic (Japanese) edition had 'Syncopation' instead.
Another great reaction, i think you're becoming part of the one now, instead of an outsider looking in. My brain processes Su's voice as light waves more than sound waves. I imagine her voice to be like a beam of light that cuts through the wall of metal. But in this song those high notes are more like drops of water creating ripples of light......No, i'm not smoking something lol. That instrument? you need to ask Yuyoyuppe, the sound palettes he uses in his songs are sometimes out of this world.
Wonderfully ethereal track - I REALLY don't have a clue why they kept Syncopation (great track) from us and gave us this but I love it anyway (I actually prefer the early cam version that had Yui in but this one is spectacular). good reaction.
Ijimme Dame Zettai by Babymetal, in 2014 3 young Japanese girls backed by a heavy band broke the west at sonisphere England! SHREDDER YOU NEED TO REVIEW THIS ONE 🤘🏼
What I've heard is Metalica was so impressed with Babymetal they had them open for them at some shows in Japan. If anybody is still doubting Babymetal's cred. Your's was as fair attempt as anybodies at trying to describe the magic that is Su's voice. Good job!
Yes, A.use was a bit tricky in the neginning, but they learned that their roof didn't fall down, so in general if there are decent stops in the song and if it isn't a special concert they work. Yes they were strongly influenced by Metallica. They were still little girls and if we consider ifols the were the ceme de la creme of the idol business. But in fact Metallica had found them too And this had some meaning in 2014. When zhey heard that zhry would comr to the UK they wrote a raving trview about them. And this was pretty significant in zheir European and US earnings. It is essential if you know that within a few days every location is filled to capacity. No reason for fear zhis is one of their softer songs. No this is Su, but near the above Ceili g of her voice, so they limit this song extremly. And then we had Moa a bit deeper.
The concert with death is not the statue on the front of and justice for all which is the justice is blind statue found outside of many courthouses. The one at the Babymetal concert is the virgin Mary. They even play Ava Maria at one point of the concert.
Watermarks are common. Pause about every minute and back up 5-10 seconds after you pause. Your video is also too big, I think the rule is it needs to be like 25% the size of your video. There are lots of tricks and rules you need to learn. Read how the copyright scanners work, and you can figure out how to trip them up. Backing up now and then will trip it up a lot.

Don't worry. Every album or so even the most die-hard BM fans think they can't be surprised by any new music released by BM because they've seen it all and then they hit you with stuff you've never heard before and could never imagine that they would do something like that. By the way if you dig some dubstep you might wanna try checking out Jiluka, they're known for doing heavy stuff with dubstep breakdowns, it's quite sick actually. I'd go with Venom.
