Welcome back, great reaction again. You already have explanations about who everybody is, the differentials between BABYMETAL (the girls), the Kami Band (the instrumentalists - of the West in this instance ... and whether East or West it will be two lead guitars, bass and drums) and "Team BABYMETAL" (song writers and composers, choreographer, light and sound techs, producer and everybody else involved).
They do like their atmospheric build ups before songs, they build up the anticipation (we all recognise the intro for each song) - and they allow the girls to catch their breath and take a drink of water before going all out again for the next song.
You can look forward to getting those chills again - not every time of course and I don't know in which song(s), but they have an uncanny knack for doing that to people.

It was great to see you back with Babymetal. You have a charming and thoughtful approach I personally really appreciate. So glad you chose to react to this particular performance. I can't guess how many times I've watched this and still get chills. You actually hit on one of the big things that have made and kept Babymetal popular and relevant for so many years. They know how and have the ability to pull everyone in and make everyone feel like a part of the show.
And yeah you got another point right when you said that this was different from just going to a concert. It is a total performance, an event! Through their many years of performing their music has evolved as they have matured. They still do some of their very early numbers but with a new maturity that is something special in and of itself.
FYI: I'm sure it's been mentioned but Babymetal comments can get pretty dense with lore and canon. Babymetal have always been just the three ladies. Over their career they have only played with two bands. Kami Bands East & West -with some personnel changes-it's always two guitars, bass and drums.
Babymetal's drummers have always been amazing. Primarily Hideki Aoyama (Kami East) and current Anthony Barrone (Kami West). I think you mentioned your interest in drums in your last reaction to Babymetal. Here's a suggestion for a Babymetal song with an instrumental intro where Anthony Barrone goes supernova: Kagarou, Live (link follows) ruclips.net/video/Hg3QsPI3x1M/видео.html

Thanks from Japan 有難う💛。"What a cool show!" is a very appropriate comment on this. I witnessed this very performance at the venue where and when Momoko was inducted into BABYMETAL officially. Yes, she had a headset mic for the first time like Moa has done since BM's inception. I sang the ♪ oh oh ohoo ♪ part with Momometal with my loudest voice in the show holding my phone. What a bliss!
The flying drones with cameras that enabled the beautiful aerial cinematograph were manipulated by experts including Ms. Shiraishi. She is a member of team Japan for World Drone Racing Championship.
As you may know Western (American) Kami Band played in the girls' back. They have supported BABYMETAL since 2019. Japanese fans always appreciate the devoted support like knights by Chris, CJ, Anthony, Clint and Ryan. They are really unsung heroes I love.

I was at PIA Arena for this performance and I can assure you that it was 100% real. It was an incredible moment to be part of. It was a very special occasion, because it was the show that Momometal was officially inducted as a full member of Babymetal after serving as a support dancer for four years. Of all the Babymetal shows I've been to, PIA Arena is my favourite.
Babymetal is only the three young ladies up front. Su-metal (in the middle) is the lead vocalist, while Moametal (on the right) and Momometal (on the left) are dancers and backing vocalists. The band that plays live with Babymetal is called the Kami Band, and is made up of session musicians chosen by Babymetal's manager/producer Kobametal. The Kami Band is not considered to be part of Babymetal, they only perform at live shows and don't play on the studio recordings.
There is another version of "Monochrome" that is worth a look because it's a piano version with all the metal parts stripped away leaving the vocals to really stand out. It's on the First Take channel - ruclips.net/video/h-hPGRSjgms/видео.html
If you want chills listening to a Babymetal song, check out "Metal Kingdom" also at PIA Arena, as it really showcases Su-metal's full vocal power - ruclips.net/video/xd-lswJ2e3k/видео.html

Welcome back to the Foxhole and now with the new metalverse era🦊🤘🌐
Thanks for coming back with this suggestion.
Monochrome is another beautiful track from latest album, it was the 2nd single released in November 2022 and there's an official lyrics video really cool if you wanna enjoy the studio album version, later in 2023 right before this concert you just saw they released the Piano Version at The First Take surprising everyone with another stunning and beautiful one off stripped down version.
The lyrics got some Norse mythology reference and when the lyrics vid came out there were many theories around, later they said they were surprised about it and saying they just wanna give a hopeful song.
    Here's some official info:
_"One of the discovered 10 parallel worlds is MONOCHROME and this 2nd pre-release digital single “Monochrome” centers around this theme. From the eyes of the children, what color were the monochrome fireworks lighting up in the night sky? This song expresses the hopeful wish on Ragnarok, which signifies doomsday in Norse mythology, twinkling across the starry skies in rainbow colors."_
This was live at BabyMetal Begins - PIA Arena MM Clear Night, Yokohama on April 2, MomoMetal first concert as an official member (she's the new official member after YuiMetal left the group in 2018), you can notice SuMetal speaking to them in the middle section and giving that recognition.
They got this magical moment when performing live in every setlist they did throughout the recent World Tour 2023/2024 such the recently finished Europe Tour.
You can also enjoy the live premiere version at Makuhari Messe 2023 with the East Kami Band playing unlike this one with the West Kami Band, both equally good, just different flavors to enjoy.
The composer behind this song is the same one behind Karate, Rondo Of Nightmare, Kagerou, the arrangement of Megitsune and also behind Believing from this same latest album, you should really not miss those songs.
Nonetheless the front women of this group are the girls and the Kami Band aren't official members, they only play live while during studio recording BM team got their own set of different composers and musicians.
    Next suggestion:
    - Headbanger!! live at Legend 1997 (2013).
Like SuMetal said at the end: "Just smile".🙂
Keep enjoying BM songs and see you next time 🦊🤘🌈

Great reaction! What a live show, indeed! BABYMETAL is famous for their live concerts in Japan. Massive production, crowds at god level and IMHO the best performers on stage. But you know what? They don´t really need that massive production in order to make their audiences happy and go with them 😄 They performed this song with every single concert during their world tour in 2023, even in small venues. I listened to Su-Metal just humming, I was there in person (Palladium, Cologne, Germany), and it was magical.
Officially, BABYMETAL is "just" the three ladies. The "Kami Band" is their support, but members may vary, depending on their availability. The Kamis are session musicians. In the early days of BABYMETAL there was no "Kami Band". Just back track music, later on there were actors pretending to play instruments (called "Baby Bones"). The girls worked quite hard in order to be able to pay for a real band made up from session musicians. IIRC it was the "Legend I" concert in 2012 where the Kami Band performed for the first time. The members at that time were Leda Cygnus (guitar, became a quite permanent member of the Kami Band later on, a great guitarist!)), and, if I´m not mistaken, Shiren (2nd guitar), Shin (drums), and Ryo (bass). All members were Japanese.
The Kami Band for the performance you just reacted to consists of Chris Kelly (guitar), CJ Mascantonio (2nd guitar), Clint Tustin (bass), and Anthony Barone (drums). At the recent festival performances, the bass is played by Ryan Neff. All current members from the US.

    • @rickwagner-
      @rickwagner- 4 месяца назад +6

      That's mostly right.
The original Kami Band members were Hiroki Arai and Shiren on guitars, RYO on bass and SHIN on drums.
They performed at 'Legend I', on October 6th, 2012, with a two song encore.
Leda's first show with BABYMETAL was 'Legend Z' on February 1st, 2013.

    Nice one, thanks!
BABYMETAL is just the three ladies: Suzuka Nakamoto as Su-metal, Moa Kikuchi as Moametal and Momoko Okazaki as Momometal. Former member: Yui Mizuno as Yuimetal.
Their backing band is known as Kami Band and it's formed by session musicians, the best of the best. In this video we have the "Western" set of the band formed by Chris Kelly and CJ Masciantonio (guitars), Clint Tustin (bass) and Anthony Barone (drums). During the last year Ryan Neff has replaced Tustin in some shows and tour legs. All of them have their own side projects.
There is another set of the band formed by Japanese musicians known as "Eastern" or "classic" Kami Band. Their more recent lineup was: Takayoshi Ohmura and Isao Fujita (guitars), BOH (bass) and Hideki Aoyama (drums).
There is an extended group known as "Team BABYMETAL" formed by BABYMETAL (the ladies themselves), the musicians, songwriters, choreographers, management, assistants, roadies, engineers and all kind of staff.
And finally, we have "The ONE" which is the sum of Team BABYMETAL and the whole fan-base.

Great reaction! This is an amazing performance and song by Babymetal.
    *Meaning of the lyrics:*
A tragedy (Monochrome Fireworks) befalls us.
With the loss of hope or the loss of a loved one (star that fades/your warmth that vanishes), how are we to move forward (what color can we imagine the night sky)?
Even at the end of the world (dusk of Ragnorak), WE WILL ILLUMINATE THE WORLD IN RAINBOW COLORS!
Because "No matter how long the night, the morning will come. JUST SMILE!"

@@RightManWrongPlace look, you’re new at this. Maybe check out reactors with lots of subscribers. You’ll see/hear a clear difference. I recommend you watch David Heretic, Omajination, Dicodec, and Bisscute (there are others, but start there). What you’ll see, among many positives, is that they don’t pause unless they have something very important to say, something worth disrupting the music for. In Heretic’s example, it’s because he’s a professional musician with many years of experience, providing insights only he can offer, he will maybe pause a song once or twice, but then provide a lengthy worded reaction AFTER the song has played. Dicodec pauses frequently but almost always says or does something terrific, whether it’s how the music makes him feel (just look at his first time hearing Karate for an example), or he will use software to break down the components of a song so we can hear details we would otherwise miss. Omajination and Bisscute are simply fans of BabyMetal. They almost never pause the music, letting us instead watch their body language and emotions as commentary. What these reactors do is provide something that’s as worthy of our attention as is the music they’re reacting to. Seriously, before pausing, ask yourself: Is what I’m thinking right now THAT valuable?

No. BabyMetal is ONLY the 3 ladies. The Kami band is not technically part of BabyMetal, even though they play all of their (and Metalverse) shows. There used to be 2 Kami bands. The Japanese (Eastern) Kami band and the American (Western) Kami band. The Western Kami band has been the exclusive band for a few years. Also, Momo and Moa are not just dancers.
