My main issue with starfield is that it's supposed to be space exploration game and they made the ship like Destiny, nothing but a glorified loading screen. You ship serves no purpose in this game. Why would I go through 4-5 loading screens to go from 1 planet to another instead of just fast traveling ?
They are selling this game as if was the most inovative sht in the market, while i know indie games some 5 years older than Starfield who do better what BGS tried to do...
I was looking forward to piloting the space ships. Taking off and landing, but you don't get to do that, just the in between. Not really feeling like a space pilot despite all the perks and pilot skills part of the game, they missed the pint of being able to enjoy that.
I like Starfield for the most part. Sure, it would be nice to have fewer load screens, but more over as a build and explore game it's pretty good. The greatest ever no.
You know what it is? I just realized it. They took a game-as-a-service and removed the service. Starfield is exactly the framework of a never-ending looter-shooter, with minimal story, boring NPCs, but five hundred kinds of weapons and endless respawning enemies to shoot them at. You can almost see, if you look at the corners, where the loot boxes and the micro-transaction shops were supposed to be. And, hell, Bethesda has been once again wheeling their paid mods system out in hopes that this time the mice will nibble at the bait. The people who like it are the people who want a looter-shooter that allows them to show off their expensive graphics card. And more power to them. They will never see eye to eye with the people who are still playing Skyrim today because while the story is thin, there's enough story and lore to keep you engaged (and while the RPG mechanics are cut down, there's still enough there to let you play as a CHARACTER and immerse in a world.)
I can't agree more, it's built like Fallout 76 but without any live-service functionality. It's like No Man's Sky on release, back when it had no multiplayer and lacked a story, everyone hated it before it got heavily updated.
For me who came from the very niche genre of space sims, Starfield, not only is disapointing, it also is outdated.... There's an indie early access game on Steam called Empyrion Galactic Survival... aside from the graphics from ps3 age, this game is absolutely everything Starfield wants to be and more... there's no boundaries on planets, there's seamless transition space / atmosphere, you can craft your ships block by block, not only you can make ships, but also vehicles and even bases, and you can even make underground bases to space stations, quality of life goes from hungry, thirsty, to life threatning ones like broken bones, radiation sickness, hypotermia and even alien parasite infection, all this conditions with at least 3 stages of progression that would need to be treat accordingly to avoid something like Alien burst from your chest. You will have to go from cook to make chemistry to craft stuff in this game in order to survive, everything needs fuel, and some things require more than just one type of fuel, so you are constantly mining, either on planets or asteroids in space... Different of Starfield where you barely remember the first planet you started the game, in Empyrion, you would most likely build your base on the first planet, you would most likely start to explore once necessity arrive, then you will start to build because of necessity... theres aliens shooting at you? You going to need better weapons... not enough? Build a tank them... Enemy bases hold valueble resources is even the base itself is a resource, you need some resources you can't find in the planet to build something? Time to go to space, for that you need to build a ship, you still miss some resources to build better gear and already explored all the planet? Well, maybe you need a bigger ship to explore other systens.... By the way this game also has multiplyer too, and is at least some 6 years old...
It’s popular to hate starfield…and therefore you have a bunch of people making videos hating starfield. Everyone is entitled to their opinion though. I respect that but it just feels like a lot of the hate is just manufactured for views, likes, and subs. It’s a flawed game but there are a lot of people that enjoy it.
You guys simply have no standards... that or Starfield was your first BGS games because if you compare Starfield with any of their previous games (and they weren't that good either), Starfield comes up short every single time... it's not mindless hate. it's facts about how incompetent and shallow this studio has turned out to be.
@@Vert_GreenHearti have played & loved every single player Bethesda game since oblivion. If you compare starfield to the vanilla version of anything since oblivion it stacks up very well. Excelling in some areas whilst falling behind in others. Exactly what i'd expect. & with dlc i expect it will stack up to modern skyrim or FO4. Your comment is the perfect illustration of a common phenomenon we see in the discourse surrounding video games (& just about any subject tbh!), the blurring of the line between subjective opinion & objective facts. If you don't like it, don't play it. Just accept that there are people who disagree with you, & think it's a good/great game
@@skyriminspace problem here is this, there's a valid criticism of this game, is not just cool to hate this game... is even more funny once you realize that indeed the phenomenon is real, but you can literally compared with the criticism that cyberpunk 2077 got... folks are criticiszing the game itself while, folks complaning about cyberpunk were mostly folks complaning about the company, the bugs for instance were a major criticism for cyberpunk, while starfield is stated to be the most clean launch from bethesda. folks are complaning about core problems of starfield, such as loading screens, boring gameplay, poorly written story, characters, world building... Most folks don't complaint about this part on Cyberpunk, for exemple, anyone agrees that the city itself is one of the best parts of the game, the immersion in cyberpunk is up to eleven, combat, story, characters, gameplay, all engaging and all of this were there from day one. And yeah, i know it is cliche, compare Cyberpunk with Starfield, but the games are too similar to not compare them,
Who cares? If you like the game then like it… but coming in to defend your position of being a Starfield fan boy is for your friends not the world If you want to prove the quality, fly to a planet from space, or simply take off and land with no loading screens Oh that’s right, you can’t.. until that is remedied (which it won’t be) people who are diehard space fans want nothing more than to take off from a planet and watch the horizon pass to the darkness of space. Yes Starfield has amazing qualities, has some incredible ideas.. but Starfield is like a miss universe contestant who is more beautiful than all the rest, but has a glaring giant zit in the center of her forehead
I get you're baiting this kind of discourse, but honestly Hellvsbabyface is an unhinged embarrassment. Like even his friend Mauler distanced himself from the meltdown, understandably. It's cringe. He & she ARE pronouns, such as English is. There should be no issue with those and yet here we are. If you don't like them, then everyone then defaults to being a "they/them" - such as English is once again. However you can bet your arse folks like HvBF and Dr D would throw a bitch fit if they couldn't be referred to correctly. You cannot win with frothing ideological lunacy. Anyway, beyond -that- discourse, there's plenty to complain about from this game that deserves the energy, because Starfield misses the landing in a multitude of ways. It lacks depth, it's repetitive, it's mechanics cumbersome and serve as nothing more than busy work, the storyline is aimless and when it feels like it has a destination it's lethargic execution leaves you unsatisfied. Having just come off the heels of FF7 Rebirth, which may as well be called Sidequest: The Game, Starfield feels hollow and ill-conceived compared. Also, the engine shows its cracks and the patch job of modernising it does little to clean off the 20+ year old rust. They had an interesting premise here, but absolutely undershot expectation, as is par for the course for Bethesda. Tl;dr, no sane people give a damn about pronouns either side of the political landscape and you shouldn't either, Starfield is a shallow time waster of a game that offers little wonder or spectacle. It lacks fun, convenience and serves to offer you very little for your time investment. Reheated soup at best.
I love space sim games, i played games from Star Citizen, Elite Dangerous, No Man's Sky, X4... and some pretty obscure space sim games that vast majority of gamers never heard about... My most recent game, is a game called Flight of Nova, wich is a heavy physics simulation all about delivering cargo on planets and space stations with things like hot athmosphere re-entry, wind speed and direction, gravity... All centered around a single planet, yet is the most hard sci fi game i ever played, There's no combat in this game, there's not even exploration in this game, YET it manages to be more exciting than the piece of garabage that i was unfortunate enough to pre order on Steam and play more than 2 hours to realize that the game sucks... At this point this is a reminder to me to NEVER PRE-ORDER GAMES, even pay for early access games is better than pre-order games. Ps: ps if you don't like to do space trucking and games that don't have combat on it, go play Cyberpunk, because it is a much better games than Starfield, but if you really like a good space sim, and don't mind play an indie early access title, then i highly recomend Flight of Nova, it is a really challenging game.
I continue to play the game, but it's the bottomless bucket of bugs that really makes me hate life. And Bethesda is actually _adding_ bugs in new patches that are supposed to fix them.
was hoping for a new gen console masterpiece, what we got was a last gen ok experience. Beyond disappointed. Also why the hell are the using a 15 year old engine?
They're using this engine because simply they don't know anything else... Also they refuse to switch engines because then the whole team will have to relearn how to efficiently use that new engine from scratch, Which to bgs is just too much effort not worth taking.

They can’t put vehicles in their game because the creation engine can’t handle it.
@Niru684 did they? I have no idea
@Niru684 I know the creation engine can't stream the map fast enough for vehicles to be used. I'm sure it's probably a little bit of both.

Please do a rise and fall of triniti interactive. The call of mini games Was my childhood.
I own shattered space, and I guarantee I will never play it. Bethesda has literally shown me all their engine is capable of.

downloading the demo right now, got spacex wipes from watching the trailer and thats something starfield never even scratched

Who needs vehicles when your character is constantly huffed up on movement drugs!

why would more choices be bad? who's offended by pronouns? stopped watching at that moment.
you walked everywhere is fonv and fo3 never heard anyone complain about that plus you didnt even have a sprint button.
Problem is that the everywhere you walked on this games, weren't as repetitive as it is in Starfield...
i love starfield
