- On the tropical island of Wongo, a tribe of beautiful women discover that the other side of the island is inhabited by a tribe of handsome men. They also discover that a tribe of evil ape men live on the island, too, and the ape men are planning a raid on the tribe in order to capture mates.

Rex Richards was a country singer on board of tss mardi gras first ship of carnival cruise lines and was also the cruise director,my father was the first chief engineer,Gino Sauda,and i was on board the ship in the summer to visit my dad who died in 78 of cancer from the ships asbestos ,i was living on the ship every other summer from 1972 to 78 ,alternating with my brother,the life of "the other love boat" ,those were the days i was only a kid born in 68 but i had the chance to encounter many people and have fun,thank you Rex,i remember him pick me up with one hand and hold me up above his head,he was a hero to me,i miss him.
A timeless classic, I've lost count of how many times I've watched it! The ART of film making is well displayed... in some other films, still, one of my faves!
This movie is even more hilarious with the captions turned on, hehehe!!!

My ex-wife, The Anti-Christ, appears in this movie as the wildest of the group. These days she's working at a dairy in Florida, turning cream sour. Look for the sequel where she plays a vicious ex-wife plotting destruction of the world.

I lived a block from the Coral Castle ,this is the first time I have seen the rock door swing ,it has been brokin a long time ,no one can figure it out.
Actually, it was taken apart to figure out how Ed did it and when the engineers put it back together they broke it.

I live in N Florida but no, I'm ashamed to say I've never gone down and seen it. Not sure if you can, might be privately owned - you realize one man built the entire thing by hand, by himself with no help. The pivoting stone door weigh like 3 tons,its so perfectly balance that you can push it with one finger. The man who built it claimed he had discovered the ancient Egyptian secrets that helped them build the pyramids. Fascinating story!

It doesn't get much cheesier than this! I wonder if the blue hair was a nod to the filming locations, Florida? That red parrot and its squeaky voice was the star of this movie-along with the gators. If you like 5 slices of cheese on your cheeseburger, this is the movie for you! The use of boa's in this and many other jungle films shot in Florida, I'm sure, are one of the reasons they are now a menace in Florida. Some of them had to have escaped and as we learned in Jurassic Park, Nature finds a way.

Check out the film crews version, it's mst3k stars Mike Kevin and Bill as themselves and is just as good as the old show was minus the robots of course.
They need to be careful trying to make comedies funnier with movie industry insults and happy boyish wise-acreings. When it's already a gas to begin with, what can the guys do?

Can you really strangle an alligator ?
You can if it's made out of rubber.
A gator can hold its breath longer than a human can. But keeping its mouth closed is far easier than opening one. One thing gators do not like is getting smacked on the nose. Most will turn tail and leave the area if they get hit in the nose more than once. I've had to work in water where one decided to investigate. And it got that treatment and left. I've also had to move smaller 4 footer out of the road so I could get thru. It wasn't happy but the alternative would have been running it over. They will hiss if you make them mad and this one let it be known that it wasn't happy about the way I moved it.

That poor gator in the wrestling scene was dead. They don't just go limp and let you spin them around. OMG, this movie was like a train wreck - you wanna click "NEXT" but you can't! You gotta keep watching to see what happens next.
