I remember there were 3 in a row...... “War of the Planets” ( 1977) “War of the Robots” ( 1978) and “ Star Odyssey” (1979). They all used the same sets and same director, Al Bradley.

Another 70s scifi movie that tried to piggyback on the success of Star Wars. I believe I saw most of this movie in the early 1980s, on a TV station that showed all sorts of B and C movies during the night. My parents had a new color TV and I was next in line far the last black and white television set we/I ever bought. Even at that age, even half asleep, I knew this wasn't a good movie. PLEASE keep showing more of these ''classics'' on this channel! :-)

This movie is a MASTERPIECE compared to "Robot Monster". At least this one has a plot and some special effects. Robot Monster didn't bother with any of that. For the monster, they put a tin hood on a gorilla suit, and staged it at the opening to a cave. They made the whole thing on lunch money, with enough left over to still buy lunch.

robot monster was far superior, It had a film score by the great Elmer Bernstein. who also scored, The Magnificent Seven, The great Escape, and the Ten Commandments. That alone rises it above its competition. It also had a frightening scenario, a last family on earth trying to save itself from a hostile Alien invasion. Scary for a kid, Well acted, and posing a moral delmma for the Alien. "I can not, but I must...."

Like a guy like me for instance." Guys who talk like that always ask for a face slap every time. When a guy notices that a girl is interested in some other guy he ought to leave her alone. At least behave like a gentleman by saying " Well. If you ever change your mind I'll be around."
