I use thicker, twill cotton fabric, you could use kona cotton
you will need some pellon stabilizer -mine is iron on fusible, its like a midweight that you would use for collars.
Other supplies used:
Stabilizer: Brothread Tearaway Stabilizer
Fray Check to finish the raw edges of the labels

OMG! I just love everything about this tutorial. The style of the pot holder is perfect and easy to sew not to mention a great scrap buster! The labels take it to the next level, so adorable. Thank you so much for the information on how to make them and sew them in the potholder.

I just have a regular machine that does do some fancy stitching with letters as an option. Is the plan of attack still the same?
With the fray check, can these go into the wash?
