This is the first label-related video I've seen that helps address the raw corners issue, so thank you! It's exactly what I needed addressed. So appreciate your good ideas.
You are sooo TALENTED! Is this your profession, if not, it should be!! You’re a true quilter from piecing to long arm quilting! You explain the content well and have a great personality! You da bomb💣
I guess it is? 😂 I have this RUclips channel and a few patterns for sale on my website. I left my “real” career behind ages ago when we moved and had a second child. I’d love to do some in person teaching at some point and I have a ton of ideas for more patterns. And thanks! :) I try to explain as best I can and I always hopes it comes through!
Lovely idea! As an embroiderer, I outline where my satin stitch will be in back stitch or split stitch. Only then do I satin stitch as I have an outline for my stitching and don't have to worry about wonky lines. I also normally use 2 strands, unless it is for very fine work.
Thank you very much for this clear, concise video. I've been procrastinating on adding labels to my quilts but you have given me the confidence to give it a try!
Thank you for your easy to follow label idea, I am a fairly new quilter and I have been procrastinating making a label for the quilt that I made for my granddaughter for her wedding. I now have some good ideas from you and I will finally get it finished and in the mail. BTW, I just subscribed to your channel
My first embroidery label was added to a quilt for my husband. He always “complained” hr never got quilt from me. I am not an embroiderer either. I used my handwriting. I never thought to add the accent. Another great video.
thank you!! love this idea! the best tutorial i have seen. The best part is that it’s not hard to do!! i was thinking you could also add a design using a rubber stamp with permanent ink and embroider over that. 🤗
I love your label. I need to label a couple of quilts I’m making so will use this method. Which brand of floss did you use? I’ve just had a bad experience with some red and black bleeding like an artery was severed. I don’t know the brand as they were inherited leftovers for me to practice with so I don’t know which to avoid.
I do all my labels by hand. My mom and Grandmother always did too. But when it’s done, I iron heat and bond on the back of it, and iron it down, then sew it with straight stitch first, then zig zag...I leaving all edges raw.
I have Adobe Illustrator. Is there any way online to convert the file to a pes file for machine embroidery? My machine will only embroider one line at a time. Its very hard to get the spacing right for multiple lines and it costs a fortune to have someone to convert artwork.
There is...but it requires special (and expensive) software to digitize embroidery files into the right formats. I have used embird in the past but it’s a labor intensive process, so I don’t do it often. Have you tried something like fiverr? Someone there might be willing to do a one off project.
😳 Oh my- the tip about mitred corners has blown my mind! Why has no one ever told me this before?
Oh the humanity! Thank you- best tip ever!
I’ve already made a label using this method! I love the embroidery labels!!

What a great idea to embroider the label. Thanks!
I love the way you did this tutorial, and have embroidered for years(by hand) and you did great 👍
My Momma always hand embroidered her quilts in her imperfect handwriting which we all treasure now since she passed 12 years ago at 90 years old 🥰
That is so sweet! I really treasure the few little things I have with my grandmother's writing ❤
~Outstanding!~ Thank you!
Thank you!! Very helpful and useful tutorial. I’m making a label and needed “advice”😅!

Your quilt label is perfect. Thanks for sharing.

Love your channel! Very timely!

love the wondertape idea. cute label and good tips, thank you!
Wonder tape is amazing! So much better than getting poked with pins. I use it to install zippers as well.

Super cute!
Love it. Great idea!
Just beautiful, you did it very well! 💖
Love the way this looks. Perfect idea for a quilt I'm making for my sister. Thanks for the inspiration! Am really enjoying your channel!
Thank you! and thanks for the email!! lol. I can't believe I didn't catch that!
What a wonderful idea! I struggle with labels and you have an easy solution. Thank you 😂
I’m so glad you like it!

Thanks for the tips.
This is a great idea! I don’t have a light box but I have a cricut which I could use to draw on the design. Thanks for the video!
I didn’t know about the miter corner which would look better than how I normally do it. I learned something today!
I would like to make my own labels. Would you do a demonstration on making a label on a embroidery machine? Thanks.
Lol-how funny. I was just making a label and thinking about this very thing for a video! I’ll get working on it :)

Oh my! I use the dmc brand and I haven’t ever had an issue with bleeding. What a disappointment for you!
@@TinyOrchardQuilts thanks for answering. Luckily it was a small cushion cover I was going to keep and not on a quilt/gift. I’ll give DMC a try.
That’s a relief! I guess it would be good to test wash some colors of thread-especially those pesky reds!
@@TinyOrchardQuilts I will definitely be test washing!
When you machine embroider your labels do you leave in the cutaway stabilizer?
