    Great video. I'm on elvanse. Been on various doses from 30, to 50, to 40 then a split 40. But have settled at 30 and have a booster if needed. I do feel more focused, I can get things done more, have stopped the binge eating and binge spending. I do notice the rebound affects in am evening, and I dont like it. But am trying my best to work on that. I do sleep better though. It's trial and error and takes time, it's not an overnight thing for sure, but important not to put too much pressure on ourselves.

      Caffeine?
      Im wondering why these meds Don’t just do the Job without anything else- that will raise my BP.

      @@GreeneChakra I'm prescribed 10mg of Amfexa that I can take about 2pm which gives my Elvanse a boost if needed. I was advised to cut out caffeine and sugary drinks or food as it can increase the blood pressure etc. When I was on 50mg my blood pressure was all over the place and I felt dreadful. I have propanalol 10mg if I feel anxious / my heart rate is pacing after the Elvanse. It helps as and when needed.

    I have been given 10mg of Vyvanse the first week was amazing but the second week by looks of it I built tolerance and the meds has worn off however, key points : i used to drink 4 cups that got reduced to one cup as i timed and been advised not mix it. My constant eating (binge) stopped, outbursts, and impulsivity also stopped. Will talk to my doctor about the dosage and thank you for sharing your experience it sure makes it easier how other feels when on Vyvanse. Thought everyone reacts differently

    Being serious: That's hilarious because I have always been serious around people in the past (masking) that I don't know or in public and they didn't like it then and can assume they don't like it now, especially people that want to talk a lot or want to somehow suck you in and those people usually don't like it and feel threatened somehow, and that's what I'm dealing with right now, the incessant people pleaser in me would rather be unwell than god forbid offend anyone. I'm working on it.

    It's interesting, here people taking methylophenidate (also a stimulant) are often told to take breaks for weekends or vacations or when they can, to lower the chance of increasing tolerance and requiring a higher dose. Not all psychiatrists say so but many.

    • @AntoniasUniverse
      @AntoniasUniverse  Год назад +2

      Yeah, I've read this too, I actually don't know if that might be the case for methylphenidate, but apparently it's not for Vyvanse. Sure things level off over time, but it's really never as "bad" as without medication, and it's good to give the body a nice steady baseline to go off of. A few days off and you'd get headaches again with this medication :) But I don't know, every body is different so it might help some!

    I am about to start Vyvanse, and am really curious about the hyper focus part as it’s my biggest struggle with ADHD.
    In the 2 month update video, you mentioned Vyvanse had helped you be able to switch tasks (controlled hyperfocus) instead of being stuck on hyper focusing on one thing. Is that still the case or is it more like what’s described in this video (overworking)?

    • @AntoniasUniverse
      @AntoniasUniverse  Год назад +1

      Hey! I hope things are going well and your symptoms are improving!
      It's still really hard to switch tasks for me, but it used to be nearly impossible, so I would definitely say it's still better! One thing that helps ENORMOUSLY is timers. Because tasks always tend to expand endlessly in our heads, I received the recommendation from my psych to just set a timer and try to work on the task instead of sit down and complete the tasks. These days I'm just timing everything from routines to workouts to work to cleaning and it is a little easier like this.

    Did you ever consider a booster dose since the effects, on average, only last half a (wake) day?
    8-10h seems good, but I'd love the option to be covered for 16h (if I feel it's necessary) especially on working days.

    • @AntoniasUniverse
      @AntoniasUniverse  Год назад +5

      Yes I did! I feel like exercising right about 4-5 PM is the best booster dose though! I really have trouble falling asleep, so I would really hate to make it harder for myself. Exercising a little just as you feel the final boost of the meds gives you a much longer energy high than you otherwise would! I feel like I can focus for an extra 2 hours after that :)

    Hi, Thanks for creating this supportive channel, I was just diagnosed with ADHD in and prescribed for Elvanse, DR asked me to take half of the 30m capsules in a water a day for the first week. today is my fourth and I feel my ADHD symptoms are getting worse, my anxiety is harder (I used to have in the morning only, now all day long) do you think I should wait more to see any improvement ? or it is just a sign that this med is not for me? I am not seeking medical advice I just would like to get insights from people who experienced elvanse. Thanks

    • @kathrynrhodes7785
      @kathrynrhodes7785 8 месяцев назад

      If you feel that it’s worsening your symptoms, and my best bet is try a different drug because that drug doesn’t sound like that it’s helping. Some meds work differently for everybody. And my experience Vyvanse has done nothing but help me. I started for two weeks on the 20 mg. And then two weeks later I did the 30 mg. At 30 I felt nothing but great. I tried 40 mg today just to see and it was too much. I couldn’t get anything done today just because I was hyper focussing too much and I didn’t realize that till hours later in the day and that my chest was hurting. And then I was shaking and stuff. So I was overstimulated. so through trial and error. I have found 30 mg to be my best bet. If it’s making your ADHD symptoms worse then go to a different medication. My advice is somebody with ADHD is talk to a doctor. I know you’re not seeking medical advice, but is somebody with ADHD if it’s not helping you then change it. In my experience, when I’m on the right dose of the right drug, it does nothing but help me and I have no negative effects whatsoever. Again, everyone is different and they can take a while for negative effects to go away. But if the negative effects I’ve been going on for that long, then yes I would suggest just saying try different medication.

    • @kathrynrhodes7785
      @kathrynrhodes7785 8 месяцев назад

      If it was your fourth day, then I would say maybe wait and see. But if it’s been four weeks, then definitely the medication is not helping you and it sounds like you need to try different medication.

    Very interesting, thank you so much!
    I’m about 2 weeks on Elvanse (UK version of Vyvanse) and have had very few side effects.
    I get dry mouth at maybe 3 out of 10 (where 10 is like a huge deal), cold hands at 3 out of 10 and higher blood pressure. Not noticed much improvement in the side effects so far.
    The positive benefits of the medication definitely outweighing the side effects! The focus I have means I can get so much done versus unmedicated … that allows me to feel a bit more competent and satisfied in myself so there are hidden beneficial psychological effects too.
    Thank you again and looking forward to next video

    Interesting that people react so differently on medicine.
    I have a dry mouth (not bad I just drink more) and at the start i got even sleepy and felt my jaws a bit, however both has worn off.
    Now I'm sleeping much better then compared before the medicine, where I had trouble getting to sleep.
    I feel that the medicine is wearing off very quickly (Medikinet adult 2x 10mg 2x a day) and at the start it worked great but now (after a week) the effect seems to decreasing so I will discuss that with my therapist.
    Have a good weekend!

    Hi, I’m currently titrating Elvanse/Vyvanse and moved up from 50mg to 60mg a week ago. Finally just starting to notice the benefits but I suspect I’ll end up on 70mg. I’ve got a review next week but I was wondering how long you found the insomnia to last?
    I had the occasional night with 50mg but it’s been every night since I moved up to 60mg. I took 3mg of melatonin last night which helped.
    For those with dry mouth, I had that when I moved up to 50mg and it was quite unpleasant but only lasted about 4 days and has since settled.

Ich hatte es immer direkt nach dem Aufstehen vor dem Frühstück genommen. 2 Kaffees am Tag, weil es mir schmeckt. Hast du vielleicht eine Ahnung, woran diese Schwindelattacken liegen könnten?
