I make kefir at home which has far more probiotics than yogurt and my dog loves it. I always use high quality milk, and have used raw milk from a nearby farm too.
I found this video too focused on using probiotics as a central argument to avoid yoghurt, which is misleading. Yoghurt is okay for dogs, as long as its given in moderation.
I make homemade goats yoghurt and goats kefir and we both eat it and it does us really well. I also make sauerkraut and give him the juice from it. Homemade probiotics have a much higher quantity of probiotics than bought ones. And you can pick and choose the specific strains depending on the health issue you may be trying to tackle. Neither me nor my boy can tolerate fermented cow dairy though so it is all goats for now.
What about homemade yogourt ? I use 2% milk cook it in my crockpot, 185 degres than bring down the temperature to 110 and add 1 cup of organic natural greek yogourt. Cover with a hot blanket for night and it's ready in the morning. Is that fine ?
Thanks for the information! You recommend probiotics with at least 50 billion CFU, and recommend the brand Protect because it meets the soil-based and level of CFUs criteria. However, according to their label, it only contains a total of 7 CFU. Could you please clarify? Thank you!
Thankyou so much very My name is joy..I ordered the probiotics you suggested today on amazon..I was on my way to purchase plain yogurt..but didn't because I watched your video first..Maybe you can do a video whether to serve raw meat or cooked as I cook for my dog
I had to omit baked sweet potatoe and cook butternut squash instead because it is low glcymic as he..my dog Ringo has had problems with yeast in one of his ears
While this video justifies not using pasteurised commercial yoghurt, it fails to recommend the natural fresh yogurt made at home, which is a great healthy probiotic and easily prepared at home at no extra cost. It's sad that to see a trend to eat highly processed foods and pop pharmaceutical tablets and vitamins instead of picking and eating natural food.
Couldn't watch this to the end...so hard to watch the way this video was presented. Not sure why I'm taking the time to provide feedback, as there isn't a single response from the producer to any of these comments.
How much is protect is it soil based what about natural ones I think it's ok to feed a dog organic milk grass fed once in a while strangely enough my dog who is a 10.and a half year old American bully does not do well w goat milk it's kind of the opposite and I've never seen this w a dog before w cats yes but not a dog 🐕I think I also bought a frozen yogurt for him and I believe it was made by dogs naturally was out of Colorado was great stuff my dog has had kefir too once or twice turmeric and ginger from the root for added bonus
Europeans are more tolerant to milk than any other race. Apparently it's normal to be lactose intolerant and it's actually an abnormality to be tolerant to milk
While I absolutely love your videos and appreciate your content, the constant changing back and forth of angles without the speaker following the camera and looking into the distance at the secondary camera is disconcerting to the viewer. This is common on all of your videos and as a digital media specialist I would recommend you editing your videos different in the future. It really makes the great videos hard to watch and is distracting to the content.
"yogurt isn't the best"-- Oh well. This is not very informative with respect to feeding dogs. A bit of yogurt in a dog's diet is a great addition. Just make sure it is plain yogurt that is thick because of full fermentation. Make sure no sugar or toxic sugar substitutes. If you dog has problems with yogurt then stop giving it. There, I summed it up so you don't have to listen to this long winded video.

dropped it after 2 minutes of non answers and "pasteurization is bad for you"

What about Kiefer? I thought I learned from you that it can help reset the biome after veterinary drugs. Is it a good option for prebiotic health? Ty!

I wish these people make up their mind, one says it’s good for them and another one says it’s not
You know when a company cuts down a food, they then try to sell you their own product. So tired of this

Agree with you. I make my own yogurt for my dog without any sugar added and no artificial ingredients.
Oh look a bit our supplement add
Correct. Want to sell her product. Greek yogurt is the best.
People feed their dogs yogurt and kefir to get calcium. Not all dogs are allergic to dairy. Sounds like a sales pitch for yet another vitamin.
The production of this video was so distracting with the side to side motion.

Can I give my dog some of my home made milk kefir?
I cured my dog with yogurt. This is just to sell their products
Cured from what?
Most mammals are lactose intolerant. Humans are weird in that they’re relatively tolerant.
