      There is definitely a trick to it. We have found the best advice we can give is to place the flosser in your mouth prior to turning it on, then make sure you look down into your sink as you go; keep your mouth slightly open so water can drain into the sink.

      Hello Silvia- We are sorry that you are having difficulty using the product. It is important to remember that you cannot look at yourself in the mirror when you are flossing. You want to make sure that you are leaning over and are looking down into the sink. Keep your mouth partially open so that the water can flow freely out of your mouth and down into the sink. This will prevent water spray. If you are still having trouble, please contact customer service at 1-800-525-2774 Monday through Friday from 7:00am to 5:00pm and we would be more than happy to assist you further.

Definitely use warm water feels way better. The first few times I used it my gums bleed but I think it was due to not being good about flossing. • @insertnamehere8723
      @insertnamehere8723 4 года назад +34

      Bullshit. It cost unreasonable/ downright extortionate amounts and is basically just a glorified bidet for your teeth- something I could do for Free with rinsing from the faucet. This will not remove plaque interproximally, nor will it effectively remove tiny particles of food and/ or plaque impacted between the teeth the same way floss or a teepee brush would. Use common sense. The amount of interproximal space needed for this kinda thing to be effective would just make this product redundant with normal oral hygiene routines I.e. flossing and brushing. Save some money and buy floss or teepee brushes. Simple.

    • @dsandoval9396
      @dsandoval9396 4 года назад +10

      @@insertnamehere8723 Yeah, it doesn't seem like it'll work better than actual material cleaning there (flossing).
      I think they were going with the idea of a water pressure washer, but for your teeth, because water pressure washers are damn good. But in order for this thing to clean just as good as a pressure washer but for your teeth, sure the pressure is incredibly reduced, but it would still have to be strong enough pressure to clean not just food particles, but ACTUAL PLAQUE! That would cause damage to your gums.

    • @insertnamehere8723
      @insertnamehere8723 4 года назад +18

      @@dsandoval9396
      It isn't strong enough, though. That's the thing, mechanically cleaning between the teeth ensures everything, even subgingivally, is cleared away. If this was remotely akin to a pressure washer it wouldn't be good for your gums and teeth in the long term, logically. There's a reason dentists use ultrasonic scales and manually get between the teeth in addition to a water jet, similar to the water floss things. At the very least you'd need to use this in addition to flossing, but that's redundant when you can floss and just rinse after. That's the bottom line here. Save money and time with this gimmick.

    One of the best investments ever. Invigorating gums with water flossing increases dental health in a number of ways. I know from family experience, that if you have sensitive, bleeding gums upon brushing, this will strengthen the gums and reduce or eliminate bleeding. It also helps reduce recession dramatically. Myself and other family members have been using them for decades. My mom was prescribed dental surgery a long long time ago. Luckily someone told her about the water pik , she used it ever since and never needed the surgery. At 90 she still has her teeth and is thrilled. I could go on. I wish ALL dental professionals would loudly promote the use.

    Bought this from Amazon for my 8 year old brother and turned it on the highest pressure. Thanks to this, he lost all his baby teeth.

    Cool invention. It lookss much more fun than squeezing string in between every tooth. Looked up results for NZ, Colgate is one option, which is NZ$129. Waterpik is also available locally in NZ chemists for NZ$124-$169. Will def consider.

    I own one of these but its handheld, never gets uncomfortably stuck like actual floss. Can't believe I'd ever say this in the modern age but...
    Works as advertised.

    I hate flossing with a burning passion, it’s just a very annoying thing to have to do but I force myself to do it anyway for gum and teeth health but it’s nice to know people are developing different ways to floss other than floss string cause i hate that stuff
