Dear Bianca, I’m a 17 year old Saudi girl with type 3a hair who grew up hating my curly hair. I had this idea instilled in my brain that curly hair was ugly, and straight hair was beautiful and luscious. I used to get my hair chemically treated and straightened all the time. My hair shed a lot, I went through a lot of chemical damage and breakage, and later learned that chemical treatments could cause serious side effects. After years, I finally decided to stop chemically treating my hair. But, at that point, I didn’t know how to take care of curly hair, since I was accustomed to treating my hair as if it were straight. I swear it takes me twice as long to shop for hair stuff because I gotta read the ingredients now...but then again my hair is _also_ twice as long so I guess that makes up for it 😂
Girl same! I did a big chop and have been doing deep conditioning 1-2 a week after shampooing and using silicone sulfate paraben free products. Wow such a huge difference!
i've watched almost ONE HUNDRED VIDEOS about curly girl methods, tips & tricks, and this is the first one that made me fully comprehend how to use the products. thank you!
I come from a Dominican family and I used to always straighten my hair just did a big chop and I won’t straighten it this year I’ve be deep conditioning each week doing a protein treatment each month m6 hair is starting to get better in my natural spiral curls at the bottom and I’ve my mom hates it and doesn’t believe in heat damage so that’s a battle but I still can seem to understand why my curls fall out by the second day
I had the same experience with my mom... but she came around when saw the results after I grew my hair out and started moisturizing, so don’t loose your faith
Nallely Herrera Maybe try using more styler products to keep the hold in your curls... and kind of cut back on the protein treatment. Sometimes when your hair has too much protein and it doesn’t need it... it can tend to make you hair lean to getting straight. I mean just try that out and see what happens. I’m not trying to tell you what to do with your hair, just trying to help out... Blessings!
You may need a trim. When my hair won’t hold a style, it’s usually one of 2 things, a trim is needed or protein treatment. I know you said your doing protein already maybe you need to increase the frequency. I do mine every other week.......
Bianca! I got a gel that's an exception: Eco gold gel- maximum hold, moisture, promotes hair growth and no tack or itch or flakes. I pair it with my Cantu products and they work magnificent together: 2 little handfuls of gel, some oil, Cantu sleek control paste, hair strengthening cream and mousse.
I know this is off topic but does anybody else have a "problem spot" in their hair. I have always had this small spot underneath my hair on the right that is almost always dry no matter what I do. Can someone help me out?
Yesss same the bottom of my hair is so dry no matter what I do. I put hair masks, deep conditioner, oil but nothing works. Bianca should make a video about this.
I’ve heard putting Jamaican black castor oil helps make your hair grow thicker and healthier. It wouldn’t fix the hair you have but it would probably help the hair your growing 🤷🏻♀️ I haven’t tried it but it could help
Same, for me it's the back right section...like a big quadrant! Lol. I just work with a bit more and give it more moisture than I would other sections. I also leave my deep conditioner in longer there.
Girl you saved my curls. I used to dislike and hide my curls because my hair was always frizzy and I gave up after trying many, many products. Thank you for your videos and sharing dat curl knowledge girl! My curls have been revived from the afterlife and I feel like a queen wearing my healthy curls with pride. No more frizz-halo for me 😘
Hey Bianca! So I’m a curly girl in the military and unfortunately I can’t leave me hair down and instead put it up frequently. I would really love a video on what kind of curly hair routine you would recommend for someone who can’t have their hair down all the time!
Your video is a saviour❤ I have a dry wavy thick hair. And all I want is for it to have a healthy and bouncy feeling. So I watched a lot of curly hair vlogs, and mostly of them recommends a lot of products like leave in conditioners, oils, gels, ,mousse, defining cream and etc. So I already plan to buy a leave in conditioner, defining cream and a mousse. But after watching your video, I got to learn that I really don’t need to buy mousse to moisturize my hair. After all, I’m really not a fan of hold and crunchy heavy feeling on my hair. So thanks for the tip.
Hi Bianca. This was a great video, u broke it down for us non label reading folks lol. I recently found out something thats been helpful for my low porosity curls and has been preventing build up on my hair while adding moisture. I used to use very heavy moisturizing creams because thats what I assumed would give me more moisture. Nope!! They could not penetrate my curls, but I save money cause I just put a few globs of those creams in my spray bottle and add warm water and turn them into a DIY leave-in. My results have been amazing moisturized curls. I get more days of moisture, less build up, shine and I only have to go over it with a gel. So 2 products and i didn't even have to spend more money. #Winning #HappyCurls
Watched this video a week ago and had to come back to say thank you! You have changed my thinking. I find myself reading labels more and paying attention to what a product says it's going to do. Has made a huge difference in my styling! Keep em coming!
Okay I think there is some great information in this video but there are also a few things that I want to say for women with tighter textures. Firstly extremely DRY hair comes from build up. If you have kinky or coily textures of hair, low porosity hair or you consistently co wash and over oil your hair then you have build up. While yes shampoo is for the scalp if you have tons of build up your hair needs to be properly CLARIFIED. Because WATER in the ultimate moisturizer your hair needs to be free of build up. When it comes to stylers especially for those who don’t wear wash and goes ALL THE TIME. Then please try to avoid things that are heavy with shea butter and coconut oil. If it does have either of those ingredients please make sure Behentrimonium Methosulfate which is an emulsifier is high up on the ingredients list to break down those ingredients. Lastly oil is a SEALANT not a moisturizer. It literally have NO pH which means it can’t add moisture to ANYTHING. Water is what adds moisture and yes there are oils that penetrate to add fatty acids back to the hair but some oils for low porosity and coarser textures need to be avoided like coconut which is HIGH in protein. Which can cause build up on those strands. Also guys something to consider also depending on where you live are humectants ESPECIALLY glycerin which can cause build up and for your hair to feel stiff and DRY. Instead look for natural humectants like Aloe Vera and possibly honey or honeyquat.
Styled Hairology I’ve realized a lot of her advice isn’t type 4 friendly. I love her videos but I have to take her advice with a grain of salt since I know my type 4 low porosity hair is very different from hers.
@@JassyJass95 The information she gave applies to all hair types. It was general information. She stated as she went along which stylers she prefers for her hair. It doesn't change the rule that leave ins are not stylers and oils don't moisturize.
Buzzin Bee I made a general comment about all of her videos. I stated that my hair is different from hers and a lot of her advice on multiple videos doesn’t apply to me. Even in this video, MOST of her advice was general advice, but like the comment above me stated, there’s some tips in here that don’t apply to my type 4 low porosity hair. Everyone’s strands are different and there’s no one formula that works for every single person.
@@buzzinbee9463 this is not what the original comment was about. Lyric Manning was saying how a lot of Bianca's favorite products or rules do not benefit a lot of type four girls. I have type 4b hair and as much as I love Biancas content most of the products she uses and information she gives does not work well for my hair. there is a reason there are specific youtubers people watch who have hair like them. I like to watch Bianca to find new products then go to people with type 4 hair and see what they say. Nothing wrong with that.
watch her video with happycurlhappygirl they had such different approaches to styling their hair because not everything that one person does will work for the next person.
I have a mixture of four hair types (2b, 2c, 3a, & 3b). At first I didn’t know how to take care of my hair but now I’m getting better at it thanks to your videos! Thank you so much!
how do you even find out!? 😭 i look up someone who has similar hair to me and use whatever products they use and it's better but it's still not good :( like my hair is so flat at the top and curly at the bottom it looks so mushroomy by the time it dries !!
I feel you. It gets complicated I do the same thing, used no sulfates, parabens, and silcones products and I was getting frizzy. I switched up how I applied it. For now the praying hands application of all products and then after gel rake in a little, scrunch, and pray hands again is working. Maybe I was to rough. Who knows? 😂
I’m still transitioning but I have come to the realization that it is unlikely my hair will ever have no frizz. My hair is naturally a high porosity and likes to frizz at the roots. Honestly I’ve learned to just roll with it and enjoy the volume.
Omg I'm so embarrassed with myself...totally been doing the leave in conditioner then walking out the door method smh...never again lol I needed this video so badly! thank you💕
You look gorgeous 😊😊😊 I'll chopped my hair this week after 2 long years of not doing it and I know it will help with my transitioning journey. Wish me good luuuuck
I love the curl talk mousse and their defining cream. I find a lot of the jar creams to be too heavy and don't absorb so I'm glad I tried the curl talk line 😊
I was like 10 minutes into the video and thinking, Bianca has already taught me all of this stuff feel so proud that I know all of this already, and then you said put the leave in first than the sealing oil. 😱 I was like whaaaaa! Lol I literally learn something every single video I watch! Thank you for being so consistent!!
All these year's I've been using leave in's and wondered why my hair kept getting super frizzy and why my curls didn't get any definition. And now I started watching your videos and it's a eye opener for me. Thanks so much ♡☆
I’m so glad my front curls came through and would NEVER stay straight cuz it made me come here and now I know I have 2c-3a hair, I was just damaging it and it needed the tlc it gets now. My hair is so soft and is so much healthier with curly products and a new hair care routing. It look and feels so good and it makes me feel good. Girls trust me it’s worth it, go treat yourself. You will look and feel so much better, if you don’t first try then experiment with different products. Love your hair, and love yourself!
I don't. The world has been inundated with natural hair care products and half of them contain ingredients that are just wrong. I researched ayyyy lot of brands because I have hair loss due to chronic anemia and didn't want to harm my head more. I was shocked, I can tell you that. I'm glad though that folks are waking up to the truth about coconut oil and castor oil or peppermint etc and that good silicones exist. If we're supposed to read let's start first with reading *about* the ingredients.
Omg I am so glad I found your channel...sadly I just turned 28 this month and am still struggling to understand my hair 😭😭 I used to was my hair and leave in the conditioner with either Pantene, dove, Garnier, Herbal Essence, Suave. And I would rotate them every 6 months and it seemed to work. But my hair seems to be damaged and I did like to straighten my hair especially while I was pregnant cuz it just made it easier. Now it's even more so easier because I have a son with special needs. So my curly hair routine has been really lacking even from the get-go I seriously need help. Try as she might my mom was awesome but she just didn't understand textured curly hair. And I have not ever been around anyone that really has my type of hair before so it's even harder to understand all of this especially because none of the hairdressers hair stylist touch my hair. I'm all on my own. Please help me if you can.

Currently working on letting really painful parts of my past go like a butterfly leaving a cacoon behind. I grew up with a Narcissist who’s only form of communication with me was yelling, condescending, blaming, shaming, insulting etc etc, from the tender age 6 all the way to 13 yrs old. So whenever I hear or meet someone who hits any of these triggers I immediately get anxiety and/or instant anger. I just found the perfect video to watch and help me overcome these triggers. First time watching this and all I can think of is the narcissist or the creator of my own personal customized hell on Earth. I know I will get to a point where I can watch this video without my chest getting tight and my body shaking uncontrollably. ♥️🌞🙏🏼
This is exactly the video I needed, I've been struggling with what kind of styling products to use lately. I have wavy hair that gets weighed down easily but is also quite dry and dull so it's a bit of a challenge for me to find something that is very moisturizing but not heavy and greasy. I also find that my hair isn't a big fan of gels so I think I'm sticking to mousse to give me some hold.
I have a question for you how do you add your gel? I have wavy hair I use a cream and distribute a bit of that and just scrunch in the gel to my hair which seems to work for me.
Love this! Everyone’s curls are different. Some can get by on just a leave-in. Some just need a gel or cream. Some need both or even all 3. It should be right on the label what it does. Read and experiment. Awesome video 👏🍍💕
This is one of the best videos I have seen I a long while the reasons why my hair is acting funny and not making sense to me is answered. Thanks Bianca!!

The porosity 101 video is awesome too. I would love more videos about products for certain types of hair, and for boys too. Btw your hair is so beautiful.❤️❤️❤️

I just tried the Curl Talk mousse recently thanks to you, and I love it! It gives me great hold and curl definition, and I can use it on its own without a leave in or cream. 🙌🏽🙌🏽
You don't know how many times I have watched this video, it has been so helpful, I would love to see more videos like this, thanks for blessing RUclips with this video😁
Hi, just want to say I'm so thankful that I found your channel. This is the kind of information I needed. I am a dude that's trying to embrace my type 2/3 hair (rather than straightening and blowdrying) and I have no idea how to style or what products to use. Your channel has been so helpful!
Thanks for talking through the purpose of each product, I feel like a lot of people have misconceptions about this. Personally, I use homemade flaxseed gel with a leave in or cream; any other product will just let my hair get frizzy in a few days. Out of your favorite stylers, which ones would you say give that lasting, structured feeling to the hair? Even after I scrunch out the crunch from flaxseed gel, it still holds its shape for up to a week.
Even though this is really simple advice we should all do it, this is probably the most valuable video I've found about how to use products. As soon as I started doing this and actually reading product descriptions, my curls have been a dream come true.
Usually if the products don’t clearly say sulfates or silicone free on the label then I just ignore it. 😅 I feel if companies cared about their customers and their needs then they would have no issue labeling things instead of me having to dig and google search ingredients in the middle of Target. Lmao 😂 But this video was great. You’re right ppl need to read the things they buy. Like my hubby who bought a phone case for his 8plus and it was a case for just the 8. 🤦🏽♀️ two totally different size phones.

OMG!!! I can’t believe that you replied to me. I’m literally in tears 😭
She’s pregnant? Congrats 🎉🎈 to her
Have a good day

Girl, you have the best personality for this platform.
I swear it takes me twice as long to shop for hair stuff because I gotta read the ingredients now...but then again my hair is _also_ twice as long so I guess that makes up for it 😂
Ayyyyeee!!!! That’s what it’s all about 🥰❤️
Girl same! I did a big chop and have been doing deep conditioning 1-2 a week after shampooing and using silicone sulfate paraben free products. Wow such a huge difference!
Angel Ray what products are you using?
Yup, I have to leave my husband at home when I go hair product shopping. If he's with me I feel rushed and I don't the label thoroughly.
Your entire channel is the reason I started taking care of my hair. My curls have never looked better! Thank you Bianca!
I 🙋🏿♀️ also use the non-penetrating oils to break the gel cast or soften it. WORKS👏🏿EVERY 👏🏿TIME👏🏿
Also another great use for gels! Thanks for sharing!
Which oils do you use? :)
i've watched almost ONE HUNDRED VIDEOS about curly girl methods, tips & tricks, and this is the first one that made me fully comprehend how to use the products. thank you!
I just big chopped, I'm happy that I did it 😀❤😊
Congratulations !
Woohoo! Congratulations! I hope you enjoy the journey. 😁
YAAAASSSS!! Congratulations!! Loving the encouragement on this comment ladies 🥰❤️
LOL same! haha
Ive been wanting to big chop! Went to the hairdresser the other day but my mom didnt let me cut any more than the frizzy ends
your public speaking skills are LEGIT sis. i actually took a course on it and your hitting all the points i was taught 😂😂🥴
I come from a Dominican family and I used to always straighten my hair just did a big chop and I won’t straighten it this year I’ve be deep conditioning each week doing a protein treatment each month m6 hair is starting to get better in my natural spiral curls at the bottom and I’ve my mom hates it and doesn’t believe in heat damage so that’s a battle but I still can seem to understand why my curls fall out by the second day
What stylers do you use?
I do mine every other week.......
what products do you use? I still do my hair but deff want to hear what you use for curls mine are so frizzy it hurts
Can someone help me out?
same
Yesss same the bottom of my hair is so dry no matter what I do. I put hair masks, deep conditioner, oil but nothing works. Bianca should make a video about this.
Same here! The left front of my hair refuses to take any product or moisture. I have to twist it or finger coil it
I’ve heard putting Jamaican black castor oil helps make your hair grow thicker and healthier.
No more frizz-halo for me 😘
I feel so proud that I already know all about these things... Thanks to binge watching ALL of her videos for years.
Hey Bianca! So I’m a curly girl in the military and unfortunately I can’t leave me hair down and instead put it up frequently. I would really love a video on what kind of curly hair routine you would recommend for someone who can’t have their hair down all the time!
That baby got u glowing girl!😍
Thank you so much!
im just like you , drop the routine
how do you even find out!? 😭 i look up someone who has similar hair to me and use whatever products they use and it's better but it's still not good :( like my hair is so flat at the top and curly at the bottom it looks so mushroomy by the time it dries !!
I use a leave-in, a styling cream, and a gel and my hair still gets frizzy AND I deep condition weekly.
Krystal Abreu it sounds like u need a protein treatment then you might have a moisture overload, Shea moisture Hassan good protein treatment
Maybe you need to use oil before implementing style products so that it keeps the moisturizing inside your hair .. I think this method is LOC
I was having the same problem, see my comment above. Good luck!
Omg I'm so embarrassed with myself...totally been doing the leave in conditioner then walking out the door method smh...never again lol I needed this video so badly! thank you💕
same ! it works great for me but i really don’t need the extra moisturizing and protein since my hair is not really dry, i should stop lol
You look gorgeous 😊😊😊
I'll chopped my hair this week after 2 long years of not doing it and I know it will help with my transitioning journey. Wish me good luuuuck
Good luck🍀
Good luck sis I am planning to do so as well so wish me luck too sis😊
You got this!!!! Proud of you!!
Good luck!!!
Thanks 😊😊😊 good luck to everyone 😂😂
this is actually the clearest, most understandable curl product video i’ve ever seen. love the info and your personality is my absolute favorite :)
I love the curl talk mousse and their defining cream. I find a lot of the jar creams to be too heavy and don't absorb so I'm glad I tried the curl talk line 😊
“Well your not a car darling” I died! 😂😂
I am living for this sass!! Who broke Bianca?! 😂 I am HERE FOR THIS.
Lmao Mama has no time for games!!!
I love that you speak facts and do your research before talking about products. We stan a curl educator !
So helpful, I’m terrible at reading labels and then be mad when stuff doesn’t work 🤦🏽♀️ I must do better 😂
🤣 I feel you love, but you got this!!
The best curly hair advicer on youtube! No cap frfr. Thank you Bianca🌻
Like my mom says, "Las letras hablan." (The letters speak.)
I feel attacked 😭 this video was really helpful!
🤣🤣
🤣🤣🤣
This help a lot. Before my hair was dry and mess up and I didn't know what was happening, but when I watch this my hair is now beautiful
I just use leave in and wonder how my hair is frizzy you are my savior! Today the curls actually live on
When none of the products are available in my country *i cry in frizz*
Thank you Bianca for the video that's so useful 💙💙💙
I don't have curly hair, but I work in a beauty supply store. I have many customers that have curly hair and don't know what to do with it. So thank you for teaching me so I can inform others :)
Girl, you truly are the hair guru. You've taught me everything I know. Much love from 🇨🇦
I'm 38 with natural 3b/c curly hair. This has been the best hair info I have ever watched!!! Thank you for sharing your wisdom. I know it should be common sense but when you put it all together like that, it makes us go... ohh hhhh! Lol thanks a lot! I'm definitely subscribing.

This was sooooooo helpful. Finally!! Someone who makes hair products clear! 😉🙂
I went to hair school and I have never learnt so much about how products work!!! I’m new to embracing my curls and this was amazing!!! Thank you 🙏🏼
This is exactly the video I needed, I've been struggling with what kind of styling products to use lately.
@@boujeemama4972 I've tried both raking it through my hair and scrunching it into my hair but I just find that it leaves my waves kinda stringy.
@N Valleria what other products do you use with the gel and which gel do you use?
I just found your channel and i believe my life is about to change.. LOVE THE ENERGY!!
The first 5 mins reminds me of how my mom TELLS me do something properly after I do it the exactly wrong/opposite way to do it...😂😂😂😂

“IF JOHNNY HAS 2 APPLES!!” She dead screamin Like my mom😭
you are the ... THE most helpful and interesting curly person on this app ... goodnight .
Love this! Everyone’s curls are different. Some can get by on just a leave-in. Some just need a gel or cream. Some need both or even all 3. It should be right on the label what it does. Read and experiment. Awesome video 👏🍍💕
Amen. 🙌🏽
I've been doing a styler and a gel for the last 3 weeks and it's been working pretty well. I wash once a week.
You just saved me and my girls overload product usage. Saving my LIFE right now!!

Could you possibly do a video showing us what your personal hair routine is right now? I think it'd be so cool seeing what you personally use & do to get those beautiful, beautiful curls! 😊
P.S. your skin is looking flawless 🤗
YESSS!! I've always wondered what her personal routine. Would be am interesting video!!!
I'm actually curious too. Hopefully she'll make a video about it! Cool suggestion 😁😀
I subscribed because of how informative you are! No “this is how you do it.” You explain everything, and especially what the products are for and why they work or dont. I love it!!
Liked before I even started watching lol

SUBSCRIBED!! i am starting to take care of curls and nobody EXPLAINED THIS PART and made it look so EASY. All of it makes sense... AMAZING! thank youuuuuu. Much love from Spain!
This video is so amazing and so informational. My boyfriend has been struggling with loving his natural curly hair so we are trying to learn about his hair so we can choose the right products for him and his hair because he’s also trying to grow his hair out as well. The porosity 101 video is awesome too. I would love more videos about products for certain types of hair, and for boys too. Btw your hair is so beautiful.❤️❤️❤️
I was just thinking maybe I need a styler and then a minute later this video popped up. I am returning to the curly lifestyle after transitioning back from chemically treating my hair and these videos have been a God send thank you so much!
I just tried the Curl Talk mousse recently thanks to you, and I love it! It gives me great hold and curl definition, and I can use it on its own without a leave in or cream. 🙌🏽🙌🏽
The penetrating and sealing oil part was such an eye-opener. Thank you!
You talking about reading 😂 sounds like me talking to my high school students. “Where is that?” “Guys....Read”
🤣🤣 it could be so simple!
Saaaaaaame! Or having to answer a question about something I literally just said, they just chose not to listen.
So this video is literally you reading the descriptions of products that you haven't even tried to us condescendingly at us. Bravo.
I love the Cantu curl activator cream! I use it by itself sometimes for my twist outs.
but there are sulfates arent there?
@@Valeria-wc5rg not in the curl activator cream and most of the cantu products are sulfate free as far as I know
You don't know how many times I have watched this video, it has been so helpful, I would love to see more videos like this, thanks for blessing RUclips with this video😁
"you're not a car darling" had me rolling!! I love this channel!
Her: "Nod with me if ur following me so far"
Me: "😐"
Her: "ok good 😊"
Me: *blinks*
🙊🙉🙈😭
I’ve revisited this video like five times in the last two years to refresh my mind on which products to use 😅
Usually if the products don’t clearly say sulfates or silicone free on the label then I just ignore it. 😅
I feel if companies cared about their customers and their needs then they would have no issue labeling things instead of me having to dig and google search ingredients in the middle of Target. Lmao 😂
But this video was great. You’re right ppl need to read the things they buy. Like my hubby who bought a phone case for his 8plus and it was a case for just the 8. 🤦🏽♀️ two totally different size phones.
I can't even begin to describe how helpful this was for navigating through all the products out there. Thanks so no much for this!!💖🌺
I love your videos, Bianca. I was looking for a video like this! Thank you!!!
Edit: Can we get her to try the Miss Jessie's Jelly Soft Curls?
Think this is my fave video on yt 😭
Bianca is litteraly giving me footlocker worker vibes with that shirt
I use the “As I am” curling jelly. It’s really nice for hold without the crunch.
"you're not a car darling" LMAOOOOO
Miss Bianca renee is coming with the facts!! I am one of those who somehow thought that a leave-in conditioner could be used just like a hair lotion...
Haha I love this, it sounded like I was being lectured by my mom but we stan a confident queen who is gonna tell it like it is 🤣😂😂
Thank you 🥰🥰
O my GOD you just gave light to my life! I was wondering why my leave in conditioner didn’t gave me that hold I was looking for... I feel dumb but thank lord I found this video
