Pineapple Pork Tacos Recipe - Homemade Corn Tortillas
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 4 ноя 2023
- These pineapple pork tacos are similar to pork al pastor tacos, except made on the griddle! We started out with a fantasic homemade pork marinade with dried peppers, pineapple juice, and Mexican spices, then we cooked the cubed pork butt on the griddle. And of course, you know we had to make our own homemade corn tortillas on the griddle too!
If you’re looking for creative griddle tacos recipes to make on your flat top grill, try these pork street tacos!

I'm drooling!!! Loving all these ethnic dishes bro, you're killing it!!! I could eat every single one of those!!! 🔥🔥🔥💯💯💯
Appreciate that...
Great YT channel. Watched this once by myself then dragged wife over for a 2nd watch. We both drooled..lol Absolutely on our meal try list. That marinade nailed it for me.
That is awesome! Thanks so much
One of my favorite food groups. I laughed at the comment "restaurant quality food on your back porch" I have always said that when restaurants could serve food as good as what I eat at home I'd go out more. I have rarely found restaurant food to be even close.
Very Very well said..
I’m starting my car and filling the tank and starting my drive to your place!😊
That's the chunkiest pastor I've ever seen. Looks amazing.
TY
What we do in texas is add a quarter cup of your marinade to masa to flavor tortilla or tamale masa
Tacos Al Pastor are my favorite Mexican taco. These look so damned good; I'll definitely be making these!
Thanks bud...hope you enjoy
Sitting here watching this video and imagining the smells coming off the Halo. Lucky and probably jealous neighbors. That pork looks awesome. Thanks for sharing. I live in Austin and had al pastor tacos for lunch a few hours ago and yours look even better.
Hey I appreciate that....cheers...
Can’t wait to see your TMG Santa Maria! Made your honey mustard chicken and fam absolutely loved it. I used spicy brown mustard. Made the honey mustard a bit tart on its own but mellowed out over the chicken. Huge fan, even if you are Navy. Go Army!
Hey I appreciate that...truly....GO NAVY!
Going to make these tomorrow on my halo finally got all the ingredients.
Again, delicious looking food! Thanks for being the griddling professor! Something as simple as scrambled eggs, I’ve learned since watching you “scrambled” doesn’t mean destroyed and don’t cook them completely done, they will finish on the plate. (Cooking for over 60 yrs).
Well thank you kindly...appreciate ya
Great cook you all. I have learned so many tips and tricks from you. Thanks for your efforts
Appreciate that..
I'm very pleased with you and wife on making this Mexican dish.
I'm not Mexican but I love their culture and of course the tacos.
I do agree that adding crema and guacamole will add another taste.
Thank you for this and all your videos.
From Orlando FL
Oh man, I swear I could smell it as you were serving it out! Awesome, Neal! I think my wife's reaction as she was snooping over my shoulder was, "What are you - Oh, that looks good!" and I don't think she was talking about your spattered apron.
Griddling is always better in freezing temperatures, don't ya know, especially with a good 15 mph wind in your face!
Thanks for the lead on the press too. We have an aluminum one that just flexes when you press it - total junk. My wife wants a wooden one though. The only downside is that she wants me to make it for her! I told her that I can't find any food-grade wood! I don't think she believed me!
ahhahaha Hey just getting to this...if you can wait a week...I will be launching my own press....
Great video.
Will try this next time.
I made this with pork butt sliced thin, marinaded, and smoked on a vertical spit.
Yeah....I really wanted to do it that way....but tried to stay true to griddle style...no doubt that coal flavor was missing....
Perfect for the new channel my friend!
I think so too!
Looking good Neil and Amy, liked the video and all the information you shared with us. Stay safe and keep up the great videos. Fred.
Thanks bud....stay safe
Al pastor is a favorite, however 😮Just a tip, You have to throw the pineapple into the marinade, allow to marinade with pork 2-3 hours before cooking 🤌 cook it together, it’s nice. The pineapple absorbes the marinade well.
She is correct, but more of a hot dog kinda girl apperently
I love al pastor tacos. You can absolutely use chicken with this marinade. In fact, there is a chain in South Texas called Taco Palenque that first introduced me to chicken al pastor tacos. I'm thinking that I might make a large batch of the marinade and keep it in the freezer. After all, that is where the most work takes place. Also, we visited Cozumel recently and attended a Mayan cooking class. A Mayan tortilla is made with the same technique but left thicker. They also showed that if you lay it down gently it cooks evenly and, after the flip, you press the spatula lightly on the top of the tortilla and then lift quickly and the tortilla puffs up like a pita, making it possible to stuff it with some refried beans. It was incredible. I haven't tried making tortillas since then but I will soon. Thanks for this technique. I will be using it.
Hey thanks for that...interesting and will be definitely trying out that technique...cheers...
I normally leave the Mexican cooking to my wife but will be making this next weekend! You nailed both the tortilla’s and the pork! Well done!
Thanks bud
Bro,
tortillas de maiz hechas a Mano …( hand made corn tortillas )… NOTHING BETTER ✊🏼🧐! Super stoked y’all got a press, it’s a game changer my guy!
🔥🔥🔥 episode, set me up with 6 please 😋👌!!! Cheers y’all. I’m definitely going to attempt this one 👊🏼😎🤙🏼
You already know!
Ahh Chee Oh Tay :) Looks great folks, I made some of these (little different execution) for my gardeners and they really loved them. I've made Al Pastor style pork many times, and I eventually learned I like a little less Annato seed (Achiote) in my marinade. Have yet to make real homemade corn tortillas, so I'm going to need to try doing that soon. I have several Mexican Markets (Carnicria's) near me so I can pick up some pretty good corn masa and I'm going to need to do that soon. Nice job as always!
Sounds great....Would love some feedback on your tortilla journey...it was my first time...and looking for a few more suggestions
Another great vid...thank you
Avocado crema would be perfect on this Taco!. Love the video and will adapt for camping next summer. Thanks Neal and Amy
looks real good. I am getting an induction cooker in the next few weeks. I will try frying seafood on it. Thanks for the entertainment
Hope you enjoy
Cutting it down like you did is awesome. I've always used a rotisserie but this looks like more fun.
Oh my GOODness. I’ve got to try this ❤
It's so good!
Nailed it! I like the idea of the fresh tortillas and I am going to have to make some. Looks delicious!!
Thanks bud....
Dude this is spectacular! I suppose I'm fortunate to live in NYC when it comes to sourcing ingredients. It's rare I can't find something. The marinade looks amazing, and had to be perfect for the pork, especially with grilled pineapple. I absolutely love radishes as well, and snack on them with some soft butter (French thing). Anyway, these look absolutely amazing, and would have to be in the top 3 taco recipes I can think of! Fantastic job sir!
Yes sir....im speechless about the radish and butter..honestly never heard of it...not against it...but really never heard of it...
Nothing wrong with a bread, butter, and radish sandwich. Try it if you like radishes. 😊
You did a amazing job Neal on those tacos. I also like them with small flour tortillas too. It looked so delicious especially when you had the pork and pineapple on the griddle together my mouth was watering knowing how good it was going to taste. Have a great week.
Thanks so much bud...
Neal, I believe you are in Knoxville. If so, you can find all the ingredients you need for this recipe at Mi Pueblo on Downtown West Blvd. Looks delicious!
Cool, thanks!
Just ordered some of your seasonings should be hear today!
Hey thats awesome...thanks for taking a chance....
used Shake That last night on some chicken I grilled over the weekend and rice it was really good. Can't wait to try the burger seasoning Smash That! @@TheFlatTopKing
Yummy
Good video guys, this dish would probably cost quite a bit of money in a Resturant ( lots of ingredients in this one ) THANK YOU FRANK FROM MONTANA.... Gotta go split firewood today after your video ..
Thanks for watching Frank...not something I would look forward too...
Good job! You may want to mention that if you use fresh pineapple juice and marinate for longer than 15 minutes or so, your meat will turn to mush because of the bromelain. (No need to ask me how I know…). When pineapple is cooked (as in canned) the bromelain enzyme is largely deactivated, and thus rather than mushy meat, you get nice flavor. And since you are using canned juice, might as well use the canned pineapple as well, since it is grilled anyway.
Good call..
Pronounced A-chay-o-tay.😊
Thank you....im horrible at just the english language much less another one...appreciate that...
Those tacos look amazing Neal! I definitely need to get a tortilla press. Looks so easy to make those tortillas the way you did. I knew when you were responding on another post telling me you were going to do this that it would be nothing short of incredible. I'm wondering if parchment paper would work when pressing out the tortillas. Did you try that already? The Ziploc bag is a good idea also but sometimes I'm short of them and I have tons of parchment paper. Excellent video man!
Well I appreciate that...honestly I did not...I tried the zip lock..it worked...never looked back...when I make again...ill try it out
Another awesome creation Neal! This is a fantastic recipe and definitely packed with some flavor! Awesome stuff! Cheers brother 🍻
Thanks bud...cheers
Ditch the radish. Add squeezed lime wedges.
Most legit Mexican restaurants usually marinate their radishes in something top secret, so I might have to agree with you on this point. Every time I go to my taco place, I grab a few of their radishes out of the condiment bar and I have no idea whey they have soaked in, but it's good and the radishes are delicious. I can't replicate it...
I have never seen or tasted a dessert taco. Maybe you could come up with some ideas
I do have some dessert crunchwraps....
Thank you for work on this channel. It is appreciated. Question: What is your opinion on those silicon mats, like Griddle Buddy or Grydill Mat? Will covering the griddle with aluminum foil do the same thing? Will aluminum foil promote rust? I ask because I worry about mice getting on the griddle surface. I have a lid and a cover for my griddle, but still worry about rodents. Would appreciate your thoughts. PS I asked the same question to Johnny Brunet. He also has a great channel.
Regardless of any answers....do NOT use aluminum foil......
Do silicone mats help..absolutely...but dont let those be your only protection. although they fit snug...if you get the right size....water and debris will still get in all around the sides. since no air can flow...that will aslo help create more problems...
@@TheFlatTopKing Thanks so much for the reply. I removed the aluminum foil from my griddle. I think I will get a mat for my griddle.
Just in case you don't know flour tortillas can not be cold pressed...Rolled or hot pressed
Honestly i did not know...there goes that idea...
couldn’t you cook some of that marinade into a sauce or salsa for the final touch.
Absolutely....
Is your new seasoning out for sale yet ? And what is it called ? LET ME KNOW BRO !!!!!!
Probably 2 weeks out...
I couldn't quite follow your math, but then again I'm not a chef....LOL
"spahder" = spider, not spotter
Please please please remove the bay leaves before blending. It does not digest properly and can cause lacerations in the intestines.
I strained it....its good....
Neal, put your sombrero on and good 😢 tequila margarita and wrap your lips around one of tacos, or two, maybe six of those tacos, and eat’em up. 😋😋✅
hahaahha thats awesome
"How to pronounce ..............". Impress me
ahhhaahha probably messed that one up as well...hahahaha
AI is bad at pronouncing words also@@TheFlatTopKing
