Am I the only one who presses the LIKE button BEFORE watching any of Jean-Pierre’s recipes ???
Because we know whatever it is... it's gonna be GREAT! 😄👍
Lol….No! 😆
Nope! You can always go back and take it away (not that I ever have), but to not click on that LIKE and forget would be a travesty.
No, you're not the only one!
Meeee tooo! Lol Because I know it’s going to be FANTASTIC!
Chef, stop worrying about the length of your videos, I enjoy every minute of them. There is no such thing as "too long" for your videos!
Have loved cooking for many, many years. But over the last 3 years or so I have learned more from Chef Jean Pierre than I've learned in the last 50 years. Not only his recipes, which are fantastic, but the techniques that no one else on You Tube takes the time to teach. His channel is, by far, the very best!
Thank you 🙏
Chef, please we want more. Do a complete video for those of us who love watching you and just add time stamps for those in a hurry. We love you with all of your mistakes, imperfections and explanations included. Thanks!
Yes! What's the big rush lately?
Couldn’t agree more! I would watch a live stream of Chef JP. I wish that people wouldn’t feel the need to rush him.
@@larawrightt I agree. When I see a video and it is a longer one I feel I have a friend cooking with me. Love it
Watching Chef makes me happy the same way watching Bob Ross makes me happy.
I’ve been watching cooking shows on cable, TV and now RUclips for over 20 years and I never learned how to cook-just how to fallow recipes. Since watching you for the past 2 months I’ve made several dishes and my wife said wow now you’re a chef. Of course I’m not but I’m learning for the first time. Thank you very much Chef.
Fallow is bone marrow. 🤣
@@majoroldladyakamom6948 I think she meant Jimmy Fallon's recipes. 😆 (Then again, I doubt he can cook... LOL)
Chef Jean-Pierre would have the best Superbowl Party, though I don't think anyone would be concentrating on the game!
Amongst the many, many, many reasons that your channel is so fantastic is that it teaches the basics so that you can venture out on your own WITH CONFIDENCE! I made your cauliflower and cheese soup from the recipe about a month ago. This week I made the soup again but this time on the priciples that you taught. Was definitely different than yours, but no less satisfying. My friends now call me a chef, but I deflect all praise to you, Chef. You are a great American. Keep rocking!
Barney's wife is cuter.
How's Barney doing? Lol. Cheers Fred! Ignore drk321. He's right, Betty is much cuter, but something's wrong with Bam Bam.
@@sandyworkman3025 And on Gilligan's Island Mary Anne is THE babe. I hope we all agree on this.
@@drk321
Absolutely
@@drk321 absolutely Ginger is ok for Grandpa.
Simple technique that is regular folks can do without buying thousands in equipment
Love this
I just made this for our Superbowl party and put it the fridge. Later I saw my wife spreading it on toast. If it's a hit with my wife, I'm sure our guests will love it.
Thank you Chef. This with a glass of wine and I’m set.
THANK YOU for ALWAYS taking time to explain the WHAT AND WHY'S of the ingredients! Would you EVER do a LIVE COOKBOOK SIGNING in your area? Always love you!
Your Ukrainian friend,
Tatiana
Happy 4th!!!
Amen. North Florida.
I press the like button before I even know what the recipe is. He is, far and away, my most favorite chef on yt.
My mother first made "Spinach Artichoke Dip" back in the mid 196o's. Always a favorite for card parties and company! She laughed when she first had it at a restaurant as they acted like it was something new. Hubby likes his cold with pumpernickel bread and I like it warm with browned Pita Bread. Now I'm craving it!!
I don't like artichokes or spinach. But I keep watching.
Dearest Chef Jean Pierre: I found you just a few months ago and your videos are wonder, fun and so funny. I have been cooking for over 50 years but still learn so much from you. I have made this spinach dip in a bread bowl many times, Certainly not as involved as you do. My recipe does not call for cooking anything.and cheats by adding a powdered vegetable dip. I will try your recipe soon. Regardless, as you are not one to waste anything, we use a pumpernickel round and use the bread we scoop out as the dippers and not chips.
I love your videos. Haven't missed a single one. I felt bad watching you rush through your video to keep it in a certain time span lol. I don't mind your long videos! You're a great teacher!
I agree! Why the hurry? It's something new in the Chef's videos. Someone explain it to me, is it a RUclips thing?
@@johnfrank1509 from what i can gather, too many people are impatient and won't watch a 'long' video. I think it's why he refers to "TickTacTock" all the time, lol - 2 minute videos supposedly 'teaching' a recipe or something. If I had to guess, most people who are impatient & into these quick videos are much younger than I, but idk. Anyway, I agree with others here - I could watch him for hours on end and never tire of his instruction, personality or humor.
@@GotWag The Chef is at his best when he takes his time. You can tell likes to pay attention to the little details and tell a story or two.
I made a double batch and had so much left over that I made a second fabulous dish. I split a sheet of puff pastry lengthwise, put a layer of cubed cooked deli chicken meat on it, then dotted the top generously with this dip, covered with the other half of pastry that I docked with a roller fenestrating tool, crimped edges together, egg washed and baked 400 deg. For 22 min. It was fabulous!
Dear Chef Jean Pierre I Love to Cook my Heartshaped Cheesed Spinach with Garlic Burrata Ricotta Parmigiano Regiano and Gorgonzola 💖
This a Favourite Spinach Childhood memorie that My Mom used to make for Us and I am Cooking it Today while watching Your RUclips Channel 🙂
Yes and I just want to say that I am Grateful for You sharing Your story with Us it is much appreciated 🙂 Thank You very much for making the World a Lovely Delicious place 💖 You see just like You ( but in my case) my entire Family is watching Us from above and I am protected by Their Love 💖
Yes and just for the record We (orphans) are in the Best Company James Bond Harry Potter and a bunch of Fairy Tail Princesses 😉
Cooking is an Act of Love 💖
my fave cooking channel, the recipes make feel like a Michelin chef at home!
I love that these videos are all about doing what you enjoy best, but NO double dipping!
No dub-dip-measure CAREFULLY
"No double dipping" is a ridiculously and overwhelmingly exaggerated rule.
I know of zero cases of diseases proven to be transmitted by this activity.
@@teentour1 Families that lick 2-gether stick together? Kid's have always shared ice cream cones.
It shows recipes on my phone. That's how I watch all your videos.😊😋💕
The way that roux and milk came together was like magic before my eyes.
I use my potato ricer to squeeze all the liquid from the defrosted spinach. I use this recipe for all family occasions. It is my grandchildren's favorite way to eat spinach.
I’ve tried so many ways to get the water out of the spinach and the ricer has been the easiest by far
Love spinach dip
You are the most complete and funny Chef. I love when you wave your fingers after you taste your food. I know it is good. Thank you for making those wonderful videos. You Rock!🎉❤
Ever since we saw his pepper steak video years ago we’re hooked
I love this guy. So darn funny and an amazing 👩🍳
One of my favorite dips. I'm sure you agree, God Bless America! 🇺🇸 🇺🇸 🇺🇸 Yes, it is the 4th of July, but I prefer to say Independence Day!
My Favorite dip!!! Now I can make it but only because you have broken the fear and mystery of it. Thank you Chef for once again making me a star at my next party ❣ I love you Chef!!!!
Yes Sir Chef, all of your videos are fantastic! I love watching you !
Fabulous dip and presentation as usual my dear man 💙 Another wonderful recipe going into my “Jean-Pierre” folder thank you xx
I always add a pinch of grated nutmeg and a dash of cayenne to my bechamel
I love artichokes, especially on pizza.
The chef posted this recipe some while ago. I think it was 10-12 years ago. Couldn't find the old video. I made it several times since then. Delicious.
You make the Videos as long as you want Chef!
Here, here! The Chef is at his best when he is not rushed.
So amazing - every time I try a spinach & artichoke dip, I automatically compare it to Houston’s version, which has always been #1. What class for Chef Jean-Pierre to give credit to Houston’s for the inspiration AND give them a compliment as being a great restaurant. It’s my favorite chain for a good reason! Can’t wait to try this sometime! Thank you, Chef!!
I live close to Houston, running away from it after spending 16yrs there…so, Houston restaurant was (I don’t know if it’s still there) a pricier establishment (mostly a steak and seafood place) and your typical hang out for TV celebrities in the city.
I never thought a dip would start out in the frying pan…will try it (artichoke and spinach!).
yeah this is my new favorite channel
Dude is an amazing chef. I tried to tell my family, and they mentioned people that cook things a normal can’t. He explains things in a way. That a normal could actually do. I love this channel cause anyone could do it. He’s an amazing chef, and teacher.
You crack me up every time I watch you, chef JP, you always put me in a good mood. I can’t have that much milk and cream but I will make it with chicken broth and sour cream. 👍👏
"I think you have it on your computer...I don't think you have it on your phone..... " ADORABLE - chef is not 100 percent up on technology just as I am not! But this one point I DO know chef - our phones now ARE COMPUTERS! So they have the "show more" down v symbol. ❤️😀🙏
JP… you had mise en place all there in front of you…. (It’s what you’ve always taught us!). I think you just got in a hurry, forgetting to add the sour cream because you wanted to start eating that delicious dip! It happens to the best of us…. Bravo my friend!
Chef Jean-Pierre....On camera....live to tape...(ala Julia Child style)...one take....while talking to us...makes a beautiful...luscious... delicious roux into a dip!! Look how creamy and full that base was!...Thanks always.
😋🍽️🥦
Master chef Jean, you are a legend.
Thank you 🙏
Chef Jean Pierre blessing us on July 4th! 🎊👏🙏
Some thin slices of butter garlic toasted Italian bread would be my go to with that delicious spread! Good job, Chef!
Awesome I love dipping with a toasty baguette! Thanks
My husband and I go to Houston’s at least once a month, and we love their artichoke spinach dip! We go to the one in Hackensack, New Jersey! 🤗
I’ve been trying to make this at home, and I’m glad I found your video! Thank you Papi🤗💕
MY MY MY WONDERFUL, FORMIDABLE!!
I just know that this dip is fantastic!
I like the idea of putting the bread bowl in the oven to dry it out a bit. Would be a good chance to put some more parmesano reggiano on top!
Hi Chef! Two thumbs up on the bread bowl presentation, very nice!
Hi Chef Jean-Pierre! I've always made spinach dip (no artichokes) from a package mix. ;-) But now I will make it from your recipe with the artichokes. I'm definitely adding this to my Chef Jen-Pierre folder. Also, as many others have said, please don't feel like you need to make the videos shorter. I LOVE watching, and listening to you so much! Thank you so much for sharing!
Chef, I have been watching you a long time, and when it comes to cooking you make a lot of sense. Personally I cook many things, but there are so many varieties of Fried Chicken on line that it is intimidating. Can you show us a simple recipe and demonstration for good old American "Fried Chicken"? Pleeeeease with sugar on top!!!!! Thanks Chef Jean-Pierre!!!
As a native of Fort Lauderdale, I can say that Chef Jean is correct; Huston's is one of the best restaurants around. Try the ribs. You'll never find more delicious ribs. Happy 4th, Chef!
I'll bet a thin, crispy pita chip would be AMAZING with the Spinach Artichoke Dip. Great recipe, Chef Jean Pierre!
Wow, that came together really quick!
Awesome! - and yes... no "double dipping" (unless it's family) - lol - Cheers!!
CHEF finally. Been waiting a long time for a remake of a classic dish. Your old video inspired me to cook. Real story. I make this often. Always try diff variations. Endless. Best comfort food of all time
Max... I only had fresh spinach tonight when I made it and it was STELLAR! I know the frozen is simple, but I just steamed up fresh baby spinach and strained it with cheese cloth. YUM! Do any of the variations you've tried use cream cheese? I made it once substituting cream cheese for the heavy cream.. 😋 You're so right... comfort food for sure!!
We always hollowed out the bread and cut the bread into squares and used them to put the dip on… also kept a spoon in the dip and a knife next to the loaf to cut it up… it usually always goes!
If I am having an off day, I look up what is on todays menu. I watch your presentation and all the days problems disappear!! Obviously you are more than an excellent Chief!! Thank you, thank you thank you for beaut recipes presented with passion and joy.
I just made the dip and it was fantastic. Thank you so much for sharing your recipe and expertise. I will say though, the recipe provided online makes enough dip to feed 15+ people so be aware of this before making it yourself! Nevertheless, my neighbors were grateful that I made so much because it was delicious.
So glad it worked well for you! We all love here and make often! 😊
Another great video and presentation. Love it.
God bless all here.
Chef, you are a man after my own heart!!
You have one of the best bechamels JP!! The consistency is perfect. Reggiano is a key ingredient. It blends so well other cheeses.
Houston’s is an exceptional restaurant. I was there for 8 years before I came to the Left Bank. I made many a spinach dips in my day. They mix it cold so that they can pre do them and then the spinach doesn’t turn color. Great recipe JP!!
Spinach dip is the best. Try adding diced water chestnuts for a bit of crunch. That’s the game changer.
Hi Chef! I love how you're teaching me to cook better and for free! How nice is that! Everybody else charges, but at least once a week or so I'm in the kitchen with you and my growing list of delicious recipes. It's easier than trying to cook something new from one of my cookbooks. Watching you do it is not only easier I get your fun company and hilarious but wise sayings. Water taste like nothing, lol. Measure carefully, mama mia! Please keep cooking chef and God bless you and your family.😎
Great Job as usual ! Out here in CA we use hallowed out Rye Bread. Then we cut up the removed center and make Rye Chips to Dip with. Chef JP there is never any left. Huge Hit at any 🥳 Party. THX again for another fabulous recipe 😘...fast frank CA 👌 ❤️
Chef Jean, I was taught by my Grandmother years ago how to make the Roux for the best cream spinach it's been in our family for over 90yrs. We were only to have it for holidays at Thanksgiving and Christmas but my children to this day they are all older now I make it alittle more..My one son I would have to make him 4 pkgs of spinach just for him..I just made The spinach dip for a friend of my son for he loves the dip But I add alittle Mozzarella to the Parmesan and I also add Asiago With everything you do..It's oh!So Good..I Loveveverything you do.You are so awesome to watch I'd be lost if I couldn't watch you cook..Your so awesome of a Chef Your very much loved..Thank you so much for all you do..Blessing Chef Jean.Dont ever leave 😊 ❤️ Marie and I'm also Italian and love to cook..
Hi Marie! Would you be able to share your recipe for the roux and creamed spinach? I understand if you don't want to, but I love creamed spinach. Thank you! Sandy
"My friends!" Jean-Pierre you are my favorite Chef making videos today along with the legendary Julia Child. I see a similarity between you and Julia, you are both funny and a bit eccentric, but there is always serious teaching happening underneath all the humor. I always have a big smile on my face watching your videos. Keep up the great work!
Ohhh Looks Delicious 😋
Perfect timing super bowl in two weeks and definitely making this!
Thank you Chef
Yet again! 🙏⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I LOVE your comical intro to your videos! And I REALLY love your content!
just made this for my wife and she is one happy gal. Thank you so much, Chef.
I loved the dip Chef Jean-Pierre.Thank You
I will triple dip and keep it all for me
YES they’re all fantastic. Also thank you for the beautiful cook book that has made its way to Australia with a special surprise inside. Thank you thank you!
What I loved about this is although it you made a popular American dish, you also somehow snuck in a way to make a classic Bechamel Sauce (one of the 5 classic "Mother Sauces" of France)... I can't wait to try this recipe!
Thanks Chef!

The care, precision, subtleties, and artistry you performed in creating that spinach artichoke dip was magnificent ! Mouthwatering! Something to dream about. Thank you Chef
The "more" also works on a cell phone.

I have been making this dip for years... ALL WRONG... WOW thanks.... wonderful and amazing. Brought my spinach-artichoke dip to the next level...
I have learnt much from you chef..please make more videos
I have come across this dip at cocktail parties and have wondered how to make it. Now I know. Thank you very much. I like it.
Holy cow !!!! I can't keep up with all your Fantastic recipes. You are THE BEST !! Great work JP keep them coming.
Chicken flavored roux is a gamechanger 🤯 Thank you Chef JP ❤
Yes sir Chef all your videos are fabulous! 😁👍
Happy 4th of July Chef Jean Pierre!
You bet! They are ALL fantastic.
I live in Texas, and Houston’s has always been one of our favorite restaurants. We have enjoyed this dip, and thanks so much for this recipe 🤗
Some time ago, spinach dip was added to a bowl of King's Hawaiian bread. The bread pulled out of the bowl made to hollow it out became our "chips". It was delicious. We didn't eat chips with it, just the bread pieces.
I made this for my girlfriend yesterday and she loved it. I probably should have cut the recipe in half because I've got a paint can's worth but we can freeze it and have it anytime. Thanks Chef for your fun and delicious videos. It really is that easy.
Thank you for teaching me the right way to cook a steak! SO incredible!

Yum I had this at Applebee's and it was good but now I can make it and it will be great thank you!
Will be making very soon…my very favorite appetizer to share!
Thank you, Chef! I love that I'm not the only one that can have an ingredient right in front of me and still forget to add it to the recipe that I'm making.
I love adding crab or shrimp to this. I'm definitely going to try this version. Thanks Chef JP ❤️
