They think she did it cuz the morning it happened she thought she might have done it. Like he changed his mind and ran after her car as she was leaving and slipped on the ice under the tire or something. It wasn’t until this cover up story came out and they started investigating that she realized she really didn’t do it. Her boyfriend was found dead right where she dropped him off the night before and the last thing she thought was they beat him up inside then put him on the side of the road. But because she thought she might have done it she panicked and ran to her parents house and John’s family took that as a sign of guilt. Jen McCabe also went straight to John’s family the day he died and cozied up to them and has been cozy with them ever since. So the O’Keefe’s have had the McCabes & Alberts whispering in their ears the last two years. I don’t know if they still think she’s guilty anymore tho. I don’t see how they could after everything that’s come out and the fbi investigation into this investigation.

It´s terrible for the individual officers who actually want to do a good job. In some countries this is why sadly less people join the police force ,which in turn contributes to standards of entry being affected. I´m talking here about a different country not US. So the supposed timeline of events:
    1. Karen, John and a bunch of people went to the bar and left at 1am when it closed to go to the Albert house. Karen didn't join them but dropped John off
    2. At 4:23am Karen realised John hadn't come home and began calling around asking where he is
3 At 5:07am Karen and 2 others went looking for John when he still hadn't turned up
    4. At approx 6am Karen was the one to find Johns body
    5. This is apparently when Karen was hysterical and said something to the effect of "did i hit him?"
Police investigation found a broken piece of cocktail glass and pieces of Karen's tail light at the scene. The coroner found John died from 'blunt force injuries to the head and hypothermia'
    Problems with this case..
    1. The dog bite and scratch marks on Johns arms are a BIG problem with the prosecution claiming he was hit by a car and no fight took place.. And the footage of Karen backing into the car as she went looking for john
    2. If this group left the bar knowing they're meeting up at the Albert place, how did no one notice Karen drop him off (possibly run over him and kill him in their yard) and then leave for a few hours.. No one saw a body on their way in or out of the house before Karen found him at 6am? No one heard anything?
    3. If Karen wanted John dead as the prosecution suggests they were separating/fighting a lot at the time, how would she have managed this? She can't hold him behind the car and back up quick enough to intentionally kill him, especially in a snow storm. Or as the prosecution pointed out she had a BAC of .23 at the time so she barely would have been able to drive anyway
    4. Is she really brazen enough in a drunk state to murder her police husband literally in the backyard of his police buddies?! And if this was the case why would she be calling people at 4am wondering where he is? Surely she wouldn't want to be the one to find him if she knew she killed him.

Maybe … he sure had the best defense lawyers money could buy and the compromised detective certainly didn’t help the State… so many things came into play in that trial. Agreed that I can see the jury having reasonable doubt … I think I’ll hear “If the glove don’t fit, you must acquit” forever in my head! BS but wow 😮 Marcia Clarke had a rough go with that one to be sure. Kato ?? Oh my… I think OJ was the 2nd trial I watched… The Brothers first trial was the 1st trial I saw, then OJ and then the Brothers again… I think that OJ’s NG had a lot to do with the G for the Brothers on the 2nd time when tried together … now those trials were sus in lots of ways.. imo

Regardless of whether a warrant or probable cause would've stood up to scrutiny, I absolutely believe the "exigent circumstances" policy could've been applied to search the home. There's a body laying lifeless & bloody in the driveway of someone's house. It would've been entirely appropriate for LE to apply a preliminary search of the house to, at the very least, make sure there were no other injured people inside based on exigent circumstances.

A wrongful arrest by a dirty cop can possibly haunt someone for YEARS afterwards, even when charges are DROPPED by the DA without ever going to court!! Individuals or government employees who require DoD Security clearances HAVE to ANSWER, and EXPLAIN in detail, the following question on their DoD clearance questionnaire: “Have you ever been arrested, held, or detained on charges, EVEN IF those those charges were DROPPED?” I’m retired now, but I was arrested and falsely charged with a DUI by a dirty cop who attempted to harass me when I was only 23. The DA took one look at the fact I had blown a .05 and confirmed I had passed their FST’s and threw the case against me out!! (For those that DON’T know this, most states have a “little known law” that even though .08 is the legal LIMIT, anything a .05 or ABOVE is the “LE officer’s judgement” and you can STILL get arrested!!) Although it never hindered me professionally, as someone who worked for the next 30 years in DoD Security management, I had to continually list and explain that DUI charge every time I had to be investigated and cleared for a new government program customer!! I definitely support our LE but learned at an early age that NOT ALL LE officers are honest and trustworthy!!

The amount of $$ that the defendant is having to spend to defend herself against this mess of an investigation is … I have no words to describe how messy I feel this entire trial is (for so many people) & this is a perfect example of how our country has a mess when it comes to our law enforcement & judicial systems. Had a private defense attorney not been able to be retained & a public defender assigned; this defendant, like so many others, would very likely suffer a wrongful conviction.

She had hurt feelings when her boyfriend was flirting with another woman. Plus she had blood on her face from trying to rescusitate her boyfriend. She was yelling things when distraught. Need to hear the forensics. (How did she back into him on the street?)

It’s rather astonishing that most people don’t seem to understand the basic concept that those who wield power are the least likely to be honest. Same can be said about the preposterous notion that somehow wealth is tantamount to quality of character - when the opposite is most often the truth. Society behaves as if poverty is a character flaw, and generational wealth is a result of being a good person… but the opposite is more often the truth.
The wealthy become so by being willing to do ANYTHING to gain wealth and power - and will do anything to keep it.
Many people are poor because they can’t bring themselves to hoard wealth when their neighbors are struggling.
There are no absolutes, and there are often unusual circumstances - but the worship of wealth is disgraceful.

If OOCS is sought to be admitted for another reason, then it is not considered heresay & should be admitted unless other exceptions exist. Basically, not every OOCS is considered heresay - In the situation about which I commented, the defense wants to have out of court statements (public records) admitted not for the Truth of the Matter Asserted (TOMA) by the court records: not because the defense wants to prove the officer being examined got into a fight that led to litigation, and not to try to show the officer is bad, and not to try to show he is to blame for O’Keefe’s death.
