I really enjoyed this second Doubleday film. The jokes are all the more funny, for their simplicity. Hal Roach did well to carry his talent, this far into the talkies. Thanks for uploading it, in these miserable Covid-19 times.

WOW, fantastic stateside WWII era made comedy movie, exactly the type of comedy my father would have enjoyed during his 4 years in the USAAF. James Gleason is my alltime favorite actor from the 1930 to early 1950’s era movies. He is a 1st class actor along with Edna May Oliver in the Hildegard Withers murder comedies of the era. He also has acted with Zasu Pitts. WOW, DOUGLAS FOWLEY, JOE SAWYER 😊and Noah Beery. Mark Harmon’s mother is Elyse Knox the beautiful young daughter of James Gleason the Colonel. Thx for this classic 😊 William Tracy is HILLARIOUS!

So funny! It would be nice if Hollywood made more like this today.

Yep and if 1945 Fords were back, and men still wore suits & fedoras, and women still didn't even hold hands on the first date. None of that will ever come back and neither will the best of hollywood. At least we have RUclips (while THAT lasts).

So funny and talented, and their sense of humor and can take a joke. Much better than the stuff they make for us to watch today. Great entertainment ❤👍👍

Great light Hal Roach comedy. Elyse Knox, the leading lady, was Mark Harmon, and Kristin Harmon's mother. She was Ricky Nelson's mother in Law.

@11:22~ "It ain't a GUN soldier- It's a rifle or a weapon!" (least- that's what my drill sergeant screamed at me!) While I'm at it- the antagonist is only a buck sgt. while the star is a staff sgt. Where does that guy get off being insubordinate??
