      There were quite a few chuckles....
      that silly husband !
      When the dummy got scratched ,
      all he needed to do was glue a
      strand of hair over the mark....
      But then,that wouldn't have made the
      farcical story, would it !
      There was quite a good "l.o.l.", when
      husband said he'd go across there and sort it all out....
      storms out the door, then comes flying back in ,
      delivered by the bodyguard, and lands on the lawyer's lap.

    so many of these movies are based on someone keeping a secret. If she had just told her old man that it was their anniversary and she was throwing a party, none of this would have happened.

      However, Mrs. Butler stated that she had never thrown a surprise party for him before, (so she had no experience) and you don't tell someone when it's supposed to be a surprise party for them. Anyway, she knew he would be home in time for the party since he was never out later than that time. It was all logical. Since he was so absentminded, and he obviously forgot what day it was when she asked him, she might have just said that she invited some people over that night, so be sure to be home by 7pm (without mentioning it was their 20th anniversary of course). So many funny moments.

    • @rooney3303
      @rooney3303 5 лет назад +5

      3122tan, that wasn't Carol on the bed that the guests saw Harry with. That was one of the models for the department store. Carol was the mannequin sitting on the chaise. When Harry went to move Carol onto the bed, he tripped on the lamp cord and dropped her. Since her head got damaged, he drove her to the repair shop. Her shoe fell off in the car on the way to the repair shop.

      Times were hard, but obviously there 'were' jobs to be found. Just not easy. Also, not everyone was without money. Poor people didn't invest in the stock market, so they had a few dollars stuffed in a coffee can hidden beneath the kitchen floor. LOL Also, There was the 'barter system. "I'll plow your garden for part of the produce." My Great-grandaddy was considered 'well off' at the time. But his old house wasn't fancy. It was well built and was over 100 years old when a City Boy bought it and tore it down. It was still solid, until a storm took off the roof. My grandmother would have loved to have a 'maid' at least to help cook and clean, but Great Grandma thought my grandmother was enough. Grandma's life was not a rom/com.

      Respectfully disagree. Misbehaving Husbands stars Harry Langdon, a wildly talented comedian who hit it big in silent films. Langdon’s comedy in the talkies is recognized as one of the 'Big Four' along with Chaplin, Keaton and Lloyd. Remember this movie made & released in turbulent times (only appx 2 decades in recovery from WWI; one of the deadliest conflicts in history, with an estimated nine MILLION combatants and seven MILLION civilian deaths as a direct result of the war, while resulting genocides and the influenza pandemic caused another 50 to 100 MILLION deaths worldwide) and just prior to Pearl Harbor & USA entering WWII in 1941. Hollywood was churning out entertainment which the public appreciated as just that - a short reprieve from stress of reality. Several popular movies since such as How to Murder your Wife (1962) and Mannequin (1987) have included similiar plots.
