Funny scene, when James Dunn declares he's authorized by Skip Tracers Ltd., you see a well-dressed man hastily take off his watch, and a woman frantically prying off a ring. Shirley Temple praised James Dunn in her interview with Larry King, saying that he was one of the adults that treated her professionally as a colleague, not as a child or nuisance, no jealousy because of her star status, and that he was also a close friend, and that she was in love with him (although, she also said she fell in love with most of her older male leading men). Larry King referenced the classic film 'A Tree Grows In Brooklyn', Dunn's famous role, and Shirley smiled and nodded as if she loved that film too. Dunn and Temple made five films early in her career, notably 'Bright Eyes' with her classic hit 'On The Good Ship Lollipop', 'Stand Up and Cheer', 'Baby Take A Bow', 'Change of Heart', and he was also one of her dance partners. I love all of the films James Dunn made, so thanks for posting this!
It wasnt funny at all... These people are thieves and no good... Especially the liar who had two people thrown in jail for doing his job and did nothing ilegal... Its maddening and happens everyday to nice people!!! I was a Trooper too, and its so wrong today... It made me hate the whole damn movie. I was arrested for nothing also... Liars !!! Look at what is happening to Trump... Like him or not, its anti white anti American today !!! See where this takes me .... Sorry....
Radios were very expensive back in 1940. A small one like that I found at $20 in then prices. That today would be $400. A cabinet radio like the one at the beginning would be $1000 or more.
Is that because they were made in USA by union workers? Now I’m not trying to be weird or political, I’m just asking about historical facts. 😁 Also, the furniture seemed pretty expensive. Could be the same reason?
It's too bad that Alaine Brandes/Rebel Randall didn't receive credits for her role as the telephone operator, for she did a nice job in one of her first film roles...
So the badminton pro (a low rent version of a tennis pro?) wears his sweater around his neck. I wonder when that first emerged as a trend. 1940 is the earliest I've seen. It always seem to be worn by this sort of person.
I love. These old cars!

thanks for the upload of a good/funny movie. \\//,
Looking back at it, the police procedure of the period was simply atrocious.
A skip tracer.

Baggy-pants farts!
PizzaFlix
You and other viewers says this is a comedy. I made it to 20 and nothing funny. May try some other time
comedy of the absurd situation is not the same as the fast one liners we are used to from TV sit coms.
It was a baggy pants farce.
It gets better.
The only bad thing about this funny movie is the very creepy over acting of that women who's jewel's were stolen...Urk..
Well, she's playing a bit of a diva? Aren't all divas a little over dramatic? I think she played it perfectly!
organized crime. insurance and electric washer commercials.
so funny i forgot how to laugh.

Who decided this was a comedy? Not at all!
HA HA HA HEE HEE HAW HAW HAW LOL!!!
Well, no, it's not a laugh riot but it has it's amusing moments. I stayed awake for the whole thing. That's saying something.
