I really wanted to go fishing about a week ago. My neighbor said he would help me get set up because I can't walk very well. I started looking for whatever fishing equipment I still had left and found my fishing rod had got broke in two somehow. I went to Walmart and bought an inexpensive Zebco rod and reel. I got to fish for almost two hours which is the first time I got to fish in over ten years. We were fishing in a neighbors pond and I caught several bluegill and a small bass. It felt good just to be outside for once. Keep doing what you love and never let it become "Work".
I know the feeling I have been down for awhile as well I trying to get back up on my feet hope get to go more just getting out and doing something you enjoy can really make you feel better
Fantastic brother I'm in a wheel chair and its soo great to get out and fish 2 yrs now worse part I have a great everything pond 100yrds from me lol congrats again hope you do it again soon
I bought that first trout magnet Kit that you had in your hand. Went fishing when we still had water this past year and got tons of fish. Went to the local park pond With grandkidsAnd it was the same thing, just different species every catch. That was the first time fishing with 2 of them. 4 and two-year-old. They had a blast. Thanks for what you do. John gets an old man motivated once IN a while.
Lived in North Dallas.. Walmart fishing section small and obviously not picked out by a fisherman...moved to east Texas.. south of Tyler...Walmarts out here are banging!! Two rows of great name brand stuff! Seems to be regional
I found his channel probably 2 years ago he had like 300 subscribers then but it was when he was fishing with you. He fished that spot often. I don’t blame him tough everywhere else seems like you still can catch them there. Acts 2 :38
I’m so sad that my Walmart doesn’t carry trout magnets. Had to order online. And after throwing around their jigs and baits. They really do catch multi species. Keep up the great content
Good to see you out fishing with Chris again. I recognized a couple of those spots, have fished there before. I might see you out and about one day and stop by to say hi! Good vid as always, keep at it!
The mini tube jigs like those in the crappie kit at the beginning are my go to bait for ultralight fishing. Paired with some 1/64 oz jig heads rigged internally, they will catch just anything from bluegill to bass.
I’m a big fan of the Mr Crappie lure Crappie Thunder for the ultralight and favorite color is blue/white! I’ve caught everything on it from bluegill, crappie, bass, catfish, and even walleye! The best thing about fishing ultralight is when nobody else is catching fish they are generally still biting the small presentation!
Great video brother. I love all of those choices and yep they sure do catch fish. I love the light stuff as the cold settles in. Chris was literally your hookup. Blessings to you both
I've caught tiny chubs and stone rollers ....all the way up to 5 lb large mouth bass on trout magnets....if you have a youngin or you are just starting....trout magnets are exceptional for just having fun and catching anything interested in biting.
Nice! Took some jumping around but found the honey hole for the day. Gonna be trying to catch some trout on the wautaga river. Wouldn't happen to have any tips on rod to pair with the 2500 Shimano nexave use? Probably gonna go with 10lb braid for casting tossing trout magnets and spinners.
Wow, John went to Dr. Pepper vs a Mountain Dew! Times are a changing for sure!!!!! Ha, ha, keep up the great videos John & thanks for the great content.
I'm going to try this next year. I did load up on a certain lure last year. I've forgotten that adding lures to the tackle box can be as much fun as catching fish!
Good video 👍. Have you ever tried those chartreuse color, scented markers? I think they make a difference sometimes. Ol Chris is a fish catching machine. Thanks for sharing and have a Blessed Day!!!
Maybe im just sleep deprived when you were talking about being under budget i was thinking you could have got a Dr Pepper and later in the video you crack one open im like HELL YEAH!
Walmart actually has some really decent gear. I spent 8 years in Florida when I was a teenager and I only had a Walmart budget, so I spent YEARS fishing with a 1500-2000 Quantum Snapshot reel (can't remember as I am 40 now), a cheaper medium 6'6" rod, and 12-14 lb mono and an assortment of cheaper lures and tackle. I caught MANY different types fish back then, but nothing to really brag about. Now I have many thousands of dollars worth of high dollar Shimano, Pflueger, Daiwa, Team Lew's, and other assorted expensive combos and I still don't have much to brag about...😂😂😂 Still, the ULTIMATE challenge is Amazon and Temu rods, reels, and tackle. Edit: I actually live near Pittsburgh now (well, for the last 23 years now), and we fish the Ohio here mostly, and I've caught some big striper bass, and a fairly decent pike, but again, nothing worth really bragging about.
I will never forget the time I was probably 10 or 11 and picked up a cheap lure at Walmart for a buck or whatever and my grandfather, who I give every ounce of credit to for getting me into fishing, said that junk isn't gonna catch anything. Mhm, caught a bass first time it had ever touched the water. Super lucky but it sticks with me. I miss my grandfather.
lol I can’t make this up. I literally went to Walmart for tackle today for crappie which I never do and bought a couple 1/8th oz rooster tails, purple and green sparkly soft plastic minnows like the ones you got, and chartreuse 1/16th oz jig heads! That’s crazy that you didn’t exact same thing! Haha
I like the places and style of fishing. I just don't understand braid on an ultra lite. 6 lb monofilament is as big as I go when wading with ultra lite.
This makes me feel bad that I didn't get out that much this year. Bought 2 Walmart bamboo rods at the beginning of the year to do more historical fishing stuff and just didn't have time. I spent $8 and still managed to catch a good bit the few times I was out.
The 96 cent Ozark Trail spinners work just as good maybe better then the Rooster tail . You can get 3 for what you pay for one . I have had better luck on the cheap ones.
I picked me up a rod and reel combo, a Creme spoiler shad, a Booyah pond magic spinnerbait, a package of dem June bug Yum Dangers, and some Gamakatsu 3/0 hooks for $23.66. 🤣🤣🤣
I love fishing so much man you make the most incredible fishing content ever man keep on making great fishing content you’re a very hard fishing content creator man last summer I caught a 3 pound 9 inch fish what fish have you caught this week man
I spent 12 years in college and have over $300k in student loan debt so I could learn how to paint lines on parking lots. Your parking job is an insult to my profession! 😂
Look most of the fishing tackle at Walmart is the same stuff you buy at expensive stores….. it’s just a change in packaging and brand name or not… I worked in a food place making granola bars and fruit snacks…… just changed the packaging from generic to name brand…. Same granola bars just different price because of the package ….. the normal brainwashing the people to think it’s a better product… and the ability to charge more …. To the clueless people….

@@dominiqueshaw3358 I don't know if you was asking but don't live in Georgia but think you
Love that parking job brother hahaha
I was like I can’t be the only one that caught that lol

i enjoy chris's channel , he seems like real good people .
The Walmarts here in MN never have that much fishing stuff... you're definitely lucky at which ever Walmart you go to.
Same here in NY. I think because in the north fishing is seasonal, but down south its a lot more year round
3 Walmarts near my place in AL they are all empty for tackle.
I’m in north ga and all of our Walmarts around here have 2 full fishing isles

You fed the dogs! ❤ Thank you! Nice video.. Probably gonna order one of those rods.
Cool video. I still say there ain't nothing like some good ol under the bridge bank fishing. Keeps ya grounded and connected with ya roots. Fish on..
Good video on spending 20 bucks and catching fish. Lots of fun. Like fishing for panfish
I love the cheap fishing adventures
I’m so sad that my Walmart doesn’t carry trout magnets. Had to order online. And after throwing around their jigs and baits. They really do catch multi species. Keep up the great content
Chris has great taste in automobiles. He knows what’s up 👊
Good to see you out fishing with Chris again. I recognized a couple of those spots, have fished there before. I might see you out and about one day and stop by to say hi! Good vid as always, keep at it!
"Already have the Broads".... excellent! 😂
The mini tube jigs like those in the crappie kit at the beginning are my go to bait for ultralight fishing. Paired with some 1/64 oz jig heads rigged internally, they will catch just anything from bluegill to bass.
I can tell which lures are hot when I shop at Walmart by which ones are sold out.
I’m a big fan of the Mr Crappie lure Crappie Thunder for the ultralight and favorite color is blue/white! I’ve caught everything on it from bluegill, crappie, bass, catfish, and even walleye! I’ll have to try that
@@CreekFishingAdventures awesome! I normally put them on just a ball jig head 1/16th ounce. Slow reeling them in they have awesome action!
Trout magnet hands down the best lure out there
I could get plenty of good lures at Walmart for $20 easily.most from the clearance bins.a beetle spin with a grub probably would have helped.
Great video brother. I love all of those choices and yep they sure do catch fish. I love the light stuff as the cold settles in. Chris was literally your hookup. Blessings to you both

Great little video I bet ultralight fishing just really fun
That Yo-Zuri Pin Minnow slaps. Try it sometime.
Haha 15 minutes ago I'm looking for new creek fishing adventure videos and didn't find any but older vids and now boom here it is👌🏾🫡🫡
I'm going to try this next year. I did load up on a certain lure last year. I've forgotten that adding lures to the tackle box can be as much fun as catching fish!
The snag was a green sunfish...very similar to warmouth. Congrats on success of your channel!

Ultralight is my new thing. Got a few vids up of it if you’re interested. Not as solid action as yours but I’m working on it 😂. Great vid dude! 🤘🏼🎣

I like the places and style of fishing. I just don't understand braid on an ultra lite. 6 lb monofilament is as big as I go when wading with ultra lite.
small diameter braid can sometimes cast further than 6 lb mono, plus is way more sensitive
That makes sense, what lb braid?

What type of braid do you like to use?
I don’t have a favorite but the J8 braid is good
fowl hooked it when fish strike at a lure either miss it or just being inquisitive
I buy majority of my fishing tackle at Walmart.

Haha my bad
Only here to say I hope you’re doing better parking these days
Why is everyone’s else’s Walmart stocked so much better than any near me?
Maybe it is a large mouth bluegill
Give me a hook … bobber .. and a small to medium weight… line and a pole and I’ll catch almost every fish out there… cause I do already….
Nevermind. Just saw it.
What is your buddy's RUclips channel name? If he has one.
Why you don’t show how you set the hooks…..?……
❤
Poor doggies they looked abandoned and starving
That's what I thought. One appeared to have a collar on.

Did you park like crap on purpose?
yes so the kayak sticking out the back doesnt get hit by a car
