I love light/UL fishing. Been getting some micro jigs for multispecies fishing as it doesn’t look like we’re gonna have good fishable ice this winter. Kinda excited!
I love ultralight fishing. I went to a creek for an hour this evening and caught a couple of smallmouth and some rockbass. I broke my defy silver rod a couple of months ago so I need to replace it. 👊👍
I like your content and never knew this type of fishing was possible. Been doing this fishing for a month and like it alot. Been learning alot about ultra light fishing from your videos.
Hmm..at 2:36, was that a Largemouth that Chris caught, or a big Skipjack? Loved kayak fishing that same spot back in September when water was higher... Hard to beat Tennessee fishing ! :-)
We have a springtime run of Hickory/American shad. That is pretty phenomenal. The Americans get over 5lbs and are a blast to catch. Great video as always!
Less about the line guide's brand and more about the ring material. Some of the newer ring material has greatly reduced the weight and thickness of line guides. Then you add the actual material of the line guide frame (more so than brand still) and it can mean something.
That's your favorite slough isn't, it is a good one for you, or it's close by, it's a good 45 minute drive for me, have you ever fished that ditch on the other side or kayak it? That's a nice rod! 👍🎣
Ultra light fishing is great. All I use anymore. Love the Feel and the fight. We'd just love to be catching anything right now. Extremely Low water, not much bite.
Make a video with a dock runner or the dock demon🤠I’ve been using the dock runner on my lunch breaks for saltwater and I must say it makes it a lot more fun and slightly scary
Awesome. What's the name of that rig you had at the end with the bobber and 2 plastics? Looked very interesting. Keep up the great work man, God bless.
Seeing that bend I’d say more moderate to moderate-fast at tops. The problem with most ultralights is that the blank is so thin that even most “fast” rods have a seriously moderate bend. Da Hammer has a St. Croix and we call it the Buggy Whip. No way in the world that thing should say “fast” anywhere on it. You know I love and use my ultralights for anything so I’d like to see this in a 10’ and really put it to the test! 😈
We did a 6’ so folks could cover streams and open water. It’s got more backbone than you’d think but the weight range we wanted it to shine at is 1/16-1/32 so it had be somewhat soft to load properly at 6’.
@@paulglass7268 Got ya. Personally I normally only use a 7’. Yeah, sometimes in the thick stuff it’s a pain while traveling but 7’ will often let me reach right over and drop instead of having to even cast. That’s also where having a truer fast action helps because it takes less to get a good hook set. My youngest daughter uses 6’ but that’s just because it is what she’s more comfortable with at her height.
@@paulglass7268 Have you seen my recent shorts. Three channel cats over 8lbs. in two days in the UL. What a blast! But you’re right, there isn’t a right or wrong way of doing it as long as you’re just doing it!
I wish i could get Mercury to replace our Evinrude -etec. We have a Z118 the outboard runs fine it’s cooling issue anything over 3,000 rpms the heat alarm goes off in the boat. There are no technicians near by even if it’s 30.00 fix so it’s been a year at least. since we could take her out. So we put the cover on it and two tarps. Last forums cease operating until seen by a tech. It’s just 150 hp motor. It is Christmas 🎄 They could show up bring engine dolly or if they have a Fix. No it’s not the water pump had that thought but last year it was pumping plenty of water. It could be a bad thermostat to bad psi gauge God only knows.
Its so sad that every single video there is a old tire. Way down a tiny creek...on a lake etc. Do people where lives just throw them from the back of their truck? I fish the same type of waters and might see one or two a year at most
Those skipjack are hard to keep alive but are the best striped bass live bait you will ever pull. Slow trolled on a freeline in the cool weather months.
Ultralight fishing is AWESOME!!! It's what i always use and sets me apart from everyone else on RUclips Jon!!! Glad to see ya join the crowd buddy!!! I get soooooooo excited using Ultralight pole!!!
I just happened to think -Remember when there used to be a Quick-fire type of an Open-Faced Spinning Reel out on the Market, back probably between 25-30 Years ago? They were equipped with a Plastic Trigger, that you could use with your index finger, to open up the bail, and be able to get a quicker cast, other than opening up the bail with your finger(s)? I've had a couple of those types of Open-Faced Reels in the past, and they were really fun and fast to work with...as long as the Trigger didn't either malfunction or break off. I also became a fan of the Underspin Closed-Faced Reels, that had a trigger underneath the reel. Man! They were so much fun!
Man that's cold blooded did you call that guy in the green shirt a fat guy,, wen he pulled that fish in you said man look how fat he is ,, cold blooded bro,,, 😃

Not soo fast lol. Weather is looking promising!
Appreciate it brother, glad you enjoyed it!
Thanks again!
Yo, I had to do a double take at 2:27. I thought you went for the throat for a sec.
Thanks brother!
Cool video and nice rod.. Glad to see ol Chris in another video with you. I try to watch all of his content too. Fish on and dang it Dawgs...😮
ultra light fishing 🎣 makes 1lb fish feel like five

Here is a fun fact about Bald Eagles they don't get their white feathers on their heads until they are 3 years old when they are considered adults.

skipjack
Pretty cool of you to review that. I have been wanting one since seeing it on their channel. Looks nice!
Imagine having an Eagle singing you the songs of freedom while you catch what feel like whales on an ultra light rod. This is peaking fishing bois.
That rod is like a slingshot
Hey Brother I have eaten those skip jack or at least what I think they are in Carlisle PA😅. Taste good to me. Thanks again and God Bless!!

John , Thanks for sharing this video and I enjoy ultra light fishing and with new gear too . Thanks Again for sharing, God Bless You. Tim L.
probably the Eagles hunting branch

Silicone carbide. Very durable and very smooth
Catfish Dave would love to have those skipjack you are tossing back!
Don't know if I've ever caught a "skip jack" fish? They do look like they'd be good bait fish!
They are great catfish cut bait.
Nice. Would love to see some micro-fishing in tiny creeks!
Serious fun on the ultralight
That one would probably great the you favorite small baits and lures

The eagle probably wanted your bluegill.
Those Tennessee Tarpon are fun to catch, smelly and great catfish bait. Thanks for sharing and have a Blessed Day!!!

I love the title, I am sorry but I may borrow that for an aggressively average day of fishing 🤣
Go for it!
Have you looked at kastking speed demon spinning reel it's supposed to be the fastest spinning reel great video

2:27 "look how fat that guy is." I believe he was referring to the fish.
ผมเป็นพระจ้าสูงสุดนะชื่อ"อาร์คัสต์(Arkust)"หรือชื่อพระนามะระเจ้า"Alcafel"
what is your favorite reel for fish like that?
For ultra light fishing 1000-3000
Man you would have been loaded for catfish bait!
Would have been funny if that shad stayed on the hook and when you threw it out there it got eat by like a 11 pounder
#1.1k+👍🏻🎣👀
2:27 Who?
Enjoyable episode. It’s part of the fun of fishing to use great equipment too. Thanks for the Bible verses at the end of your videos. Glory to God.
