Before watching the AVGN episode I’d have never thought that companies actually made games for this piece of hardware.

Hardware designers though that was going to be the next big thing in the 90s and so a bunch got made and they all failed. I had a game for the CD-i called something along the lines of ''The Apprentice'' a platform game where you were a wizard who had to get to the top of various towers. It was actually pretty damn fun, I would recommend it if you have a love of retro games. And yes, I also had Mario and Zelda. Those... weren't so good.

If Nintendo had not betrayed Sony, the Playstation would never have existed and Nintendo would still be one of the big console producers.
Hell, the only reason Microsoft got in on the game was because of how well the Playstation was selling. So we may never have seen Microsoft enter the ring.
+Hollanderizer I don't know of SEGA would have still been around as thier financial troubles started before Sony relased the Playstation. SEGA were already on the way out before Sony got involved. Nintendo saw to the beginning of the end of SEGA.
Then of course Nintendo backstabbing Sony made sure Sony put Nintendo on the back burner.
Interesting note, did you know SEGA (when in serious financial trouble) actually went to Microsoft about a possible merger. Microsoft pretty much laughed SEGA away and it was this meeting that got the wheels in motion about Microsoft getting in on the console market to go up against Sony?
So you can thank SEGA for Microsoft's involvement.

I had a game for the CD-i called something along the lines of ''The Apprentice'' a platform game where you were a wizard who had to get to the top of various towers. It was actually pretty damn fun, I would recommend it if you have a love of retro games. And yes, I also had Mario and Zelda. Those... weren't so good.
