Walnut TELECASTER Build

- This is my first ever electric guitar build. The guitar was built from scratch using European Walnut for the body, Australian Blackwood for the neck and Red Box Wood for the fretboard. The pickups are Fender Tex Mex Telecaster pickups, the bridge is a Wilkinson compensated three saddle bridge and the tuners are Gotoh vintage tuners.
I went into this project without knowing the ins and outs of guitar building and had limited knowledge on what was in store for me. Despite this I learned a great deal along the way and hope it inspires you to give projects like this a shot as well. Enjoy!
Pure craftmanship from start to finish.Stunning work. And no daft music or inane chat.Just honest workshop noises.Impressive video.Beautiful instrument.
😊
Well yeah, but if it wasn’t for computers and CNC machines we be paying through the nose 👃 for our guitars 🎸 today.
That was one of the nicest 27 minutes I've spent in a while! Nice build, beautiful work. You made it look easy. I hope you make more.
Thanks mate, appreciate it! Stay tuned for future builds for sure 👍
😊
@@greensguitarsI want one!!!!
amen
@@greensguitars привет! мне нравиться название твоего канала...бро!🤣 ты продаешь сделанные тобой инструменты!? спасибо!🙂
There is nothing on this guitar that isn't truly stunning. The wood colors and grain.....wow. Excellent work!!
Wow, thank you!
Being a retired woodworker and a guitarist This is a perfect thing for me to try Always wanted a Tele.
Your first build?? Wow. That's stunning. You sir are a true artist.
I must say, this is one of the finest guitar constructions I have come across!
Anyone else just loving the white pickguard!
So simple, so tasteful
I’m glad you like it!
Wow! For a first build I’m Really Impressed! I’m a retired broke down old furniture maker, but I’ve always wanted to make a guitar. I think you just talked me into giving it a go? Thanks 👍🏻
That’s very rewarding to hear!
That Tru Oil is a great "go to" finish for natural wood. It really brings out the color in the body. Nice work!
Thanks 👍
@@greensguitars hi from Epernay, France. Please, what kind of jig did you use to round the curves with your drill ! Thanks
I bought a 20 piece drum sanding kit from my local tool shop which seemed to fit the need well
Tru oil are sticky on neck from my experience
Fantastic job, but TruOil is really a varnish and is slightly glossy, can be sticky. I've found that the best for necks is genuine tung oil (not "tung oil finish") cut 50/50 with mineral spirits. Apply, wipe off, dry overnight repeat the next day. Dry again. Then two coats of quality wax. Silky smooth, no warping problems to date.
Great build … great to see someone use “ordinary big box tools” to produce such quality of work 👍👍👍
Proper craftsmanship, many luthiers these days are just assemblers, you appear to have a gift and I for one look forward to seeing……..and hearing more of your guitars.
Thank you! More builds are coming so stay tuned 👍
How wonderful to see it done mostly by hand.
You keep developing your woodworking skills that way and not relying on machinery all the time.
Thank you very much!
Loved every minute of this! Superb workmanship ❤
I personally would have opted for gold hardware, gold lipstick p/u, black bridge and no pick guard. Still a very beautiful, professional build from start to finish... BRAVO!! ❤
This Tele is pure perfection start to finish.
Well done - I loved that you used unconventional woods for the neck / fingerboard - a fearless approach. The final product looked really nice and sounded great. Can't believe that is your first build!
when he fretted the board before putting it onto the neck, i realized this had to be his first build...😂 but looks great nevertheless!
@@jimi272 For me it where he didn't drill the body holes before scrubbing the template off. That was dumb.
Awesome built man! I so envy people with the space to have tools and skills to use them in such a beautiful way!
Now that is hand crafted! I love how you did the finish. There is NO way I could cover that up with paint. I would spend more time looking at it than playing it. Amazing job and I love your wood choices.
loved the whole process , the guitar looks absolutely stunning ❤️
This guitar looks absolutely gorgeous on camera! Fantastic wood choices!
Thank you!
Great work - it's beautiful, and sounds lovely.
хвала што сте поделили ово са нама. Заиста је дивно то што радите. Поздрав из Србије.
Thank you! Greetings from Australia!
Absolutely incredible. Thanks for sharing 🙏
Great achievement building yourself a guitar from scratch. Looks and sounds great. You should be very proud of yourself, well done
Great job! Beautiful pieces of wood. It looks and sounds amazing!
Awesome work, great effort documenting it all so well 😊
The end result is great! Kudos to you for making such a beautiful instrument
That's a thing of beauty great work, sounds crisp too
What a beautiful build what a talented craftsman this man is truly amazing what some people can do!
Gorgeous wood and beautiful work!
Amazing craftsmanship. A true work of art!
Beautiful work and craftsmanship. Fantastic!
Nice build! I love walnut, and tele's.
I love the fret cutting jig you made using the top edge of the saw as the stop, quite clever. I think the fretboard is probably the most terrifying aspect of attempting a build like this. Maybe that and all the chiseling! thanks for sharing, great video.
A thing of beauty. Bravo sir.
Simply BEAUTIFUL, PERFECT!
That is a very beautiful guitar. Well done.
Awesome job!!! Beautiful Telecaster!😉😉
Fabulous. Sounds as nice as it looks. It must be immensely satisfying. Thanks
EXCELLENT WOOD! Walnut is my favorite too.
Pure art. Congrats!
A beautiful custom telecaster with a great, individual sound. I would love to see more custom build's like for sale.
Wow. You're such a skilled dude and a big inspiration to me. Thank you for this build. It's an amazing piece of work ❤
Such a beautiful guitar! You have to be proud of yourself 😊 Amazing.
Wow! That’s a very nice guitar build! That’s is inspiring ! I have done some DIY kits but I never had the curage to built one guitar from scratch ! You are giving me the right path to go! Thank you for sharing your experience ! 👍
Amazing. Personally I think gold hardware would look much cooler on a dark wood with a black pickguard.
Ya, that would look really good as well.
Agree on the gold hardware. Seems to look best on natural and see-thru finishes.
Agree 👍💯
Gold hardware is like a gold tooth... it never looks good 🤓
@@sergiomatievich Bullshit.
Walnut is so underrated. I have two and they are both great.
Some pedal steel guitar builders in the USA use walnut as well.
I have a walnut lap steel.
High quality walnut is very expansive ( used mainly in top quality fire arms) , yes its a very nice wood.
That was like meditating. Watching a true artisan at work. Yours is a skill level that many can appreciate and few could replicate. You made a piece of art that sounds truly beautiful. Thank you for sharing your process 🙏
Wow, thank you!
Wow.. This is a master piece of guitar build.
Great Work! It's fantastic to see the whole process. You have a nice sound at the end there as well.
Thanks!
Excellent build! I really enjoyed watching your process and skills. Thanks for posting this video and sharing your talent.
Beautiful guitar!!! Fabulous workmanship.
I am blown away! Such precision, magic and depth of presence. What a guitar. Astounding process. Thankyou for displaying such creative mastery.
Wow… Thank you!
Looks like it weighs 20 pounds
I built a walnut feel after seeing this and i had to hollow it out and add contours
I made one like this. It’s heavier than other guitars, but not terrible.
Think of the sustain
I want to order you to make a guitar like that.
Please let me know its price and payment method. I'm from Vietnam.
Thank you for sharing. The guitar looks and sounds amazing.
I never even skipped the video. Wow. What a piece of art
A beautiful piece of craftsmanship and video. Well done.
This was absolutely spectacular to watch. Talk about *truly handmade in every sense of the word*. No CNC machines here, brother. I'll look forward to having you make me one of these. I didn't realize there were true craftsmen making gems like this anymore. WOW. I'm speechless. What an astonishingly beautiful instrument.
Thank you! 🙏
I’m glad you liked it, it was a joy to build.
Thanks for watching!
you are a true artisan!!!! Excellent work. Very inspiring
Oh how valuable this work is and its beautiful, priceless effect..
OMG, this is the guitar I have always thought of in my head. Well.done!
Absolutely beautiful work.
stellar craftsmanship .. .
Wow, what an instrument. Very well done!
This has inspired me to want to build a guitar from scratch like this. Always wanted a 60s style telecaster, so why not build it! Amazing work..
Beautiful guitar. Very cool woods for the neck and fretboard. Of course the walnut is great. The guitar sounds really good. Great hand work. Congratulations!!
Wonderful work my friend! I learn from you.
This was so nice to watch. As a new owner of a tele I’m glad youtube suggested your channel. There is something about the guitar having no brand on it that I love.
A fantastic effort and a beautiful tone.
That is a DAMN fine looking guitar. Great work. I am in awe.
Couldn’t stop watching. Turned out great!
pot, wood and music. !! lovely watch! thankyou
...a real ARTIST ! that's incredible! magic hands! and also a great guitarist!
the best tele build video ive ever seen! thank you so much for this gem of a video!
This is what i am talking about, no fancy tools, just pure craftmanship, now you have to build another one and make a video of that build to, maybe build a Walnut Strat so that the Telecaster has a similar friend to talk to when the lights out, or even more massive, a walnut Explorer or Les Paul.. looking forward to next buildvideo.. :D
Absolutely beautiful. Well done!
Great tone! It's not bright like a Fender, yet not dark like mahogany. A nice middle ground. That one is a keeper for sure!!
Echo everyone. Great 'Slow TV Relaxation' to boot! Video production parallels the guitar making AND recording process - cool, calm -AND beautiful.
Very nice. Love the Walnut 😎👍👌💯🎸🎸
Awesome. Stunning. Beautiful.
The Telecaster the Queen of all guitars all the way !Fantastic work
thank you for making. been dabbling for years with building. I wish I had some of my projects on video but setting up the camera and editing it all together is BY FAR the hardest part. so kudos to you and great work!
Excellent work on the guitar and excellent video. Really like how crafted it with only a few basic power tools. The video is a complete tutorial on the steps involved. Great work IMHO.
so peaceful and beautiful. thanks for sharing
Glad you enjoyed it
