Walnut TELECASTER Build

  • Опубликовано: 18 дек 2022
  • This is my first ever electric guitar build. The guitar was built from scratch using European Walnut for the body, Australian Blackwood for the neck and Red Box Wood for the fretboard. The pickups are Fender Tex Mex Telecaster pickups, the bridge is a Wilkinson compensated three saddle bridge and the tuners are Gotoh vintage tuners.
I went into this project without knowing the ins and outs of guitar building and had limited knowledge on what was in store for me. Despite this I learned a great deal along the way and hope it inspires you to give projects like this a shot as well. Enjoy!

Fantastic job, but TruOil is really a varnish and is slightly glossy, can be sticky. I've found that the best for necks is genuine tung oil (not "tung oil finish") cut 50/50 with mineral spirits. Apply, wipe off, dry overnight repeat the next day. Dry again. Then two coats of quality wax. Silky smooth, no warping problems to date.
