Someone on fragrantica wrote this about L’orpheline: “You came down to the cellar, lit a single candle from a match you had in your pocket, and started to shave.” I’m not sure if this guy meant this as a negative or positive, but I do think the description is accurate (and hilarious) I like it. Not my favorite Lutens. But still a Lutens. Enjoyed the video Pep, thanks!
I love that review of L’orpheline. Must be one of the only (or few) SL fragrances that Luca Turin gave a one star review to. Not my favorite from the house either, but a very easy to wear, perhaps even intermediate incense.
@@perfumehaiku well then, I will try and do more. Honestly, I was worried that it's boring just watching someone smelling something and clutching in the dark😅
This style of video is fun. I do this as well. If I get a sample I don’t know anything about I try and guess before I look. Easier said than done. Sometimes you don’t smell the note until you read that it’s there. Must be hard to be a perfumer
Oh no, I was afraid you hated L'Orpheline based on the video title! I totally agree about the soapiness. To me, it has similarities to L'Artisan Passage d'Enfer, another soapy incense. L'Orpheline is incredible on a rainy day.
I love your short and sweet sampling videos! L’Opheline is an interesting one to me. Someday it’s very soft and delicate, but there are times it could be a bit too sharp and even turning metallic to my nose. It lasts forever on me so I need to be very careful with where and how many sprays I use 😊
Hello Pep. Really like watch your video from Melbourne too. I've tried Amber Precieux from Maitre Gantier. It's mysterious, new and old school type of perfume at the same time. And when I tried it for the first time, I could not stop smelling my skin. This perfume brought me back to the old days when I was young and reminded me with my mother holding my hand at the same time. It's sometimes unbelievable how perfume can perfume bring back memories . I finally bought this perfume and it's quiet hard, because the only place that I could buy from was lucky scents. And I am sure you know well how much expensive the shipping cost to come to Australia. But I do love this perfume so well. Not sure if you ever tried it before. But thank you so much for reviews Pep. All the best.
Wohooo! I love that you could see the beauty of l'Orph. Do you see any resemblance between the Loewe and CdG 2man? On my skin they are very alike... But then incense is my all time favorite note so my nose directly gors there and keeps it in focus.
@@FragrantVenerations I have a very clear idea you like incense based on these😁 thank you again, btw. I didn't get reminded of CdG 2 man while smelling it. But I'll re-smell. 2 Man seems much more forward. But maybe it's different on skin.
I look forward to hearing what You think of the L’orpheline, now that it has the green light to join Your rotation. I’ll keep my fingers crossed that the others waiting patiently in Your drawer will one day have a chance for their First Impression debuts as well. 🤗
I've not smelled any of these so I love the first impressions videos because it's really difficult for the eyes to lie. 😄 I agree completely, it's a must to try on skin. Really want to try L'Orpheline now. Cheers, Pep.
@roberteckert9699 I wouldn't go by my first impression, since I have not worn it on skin. I have loved a lot of scents that weren't impressive first time on a card.
The Attacquer de Soleil jas a tendency of dancing on the skin... The labdanum goes between leather... Then rubber... And then dry herbs... Its really weird that way.
Have you smelled Laudano Nero? It's a favorite of mine. I'd love hearing your opinion of it. Although I haven't had the chance to put my nose on it (missed my opportunity to blind before the old formulation was discontinued), I believe Loewe 7 Anonimo might be more to your liking from Loewe. Your take on La Couche de Diable woukd be great to hear too. I'll have to search your channel to see if you've already covered any of them. Thanks for sharing! You are among the best of 'fragcom'.
