Would the movie Space Odyssey 2001 be considered
"unintentional ASMR' ??
I love surprising people with random facts lol they think I'm really smart haha, what topics do you enjoy the most?
Years ago, I woke up to the television on the news channel reporting that Stephen hawking had passed. I didn’t quite know if I was dreaming or awake . When I realized I was awake, I had a terrible feeling and I didn’t want to get up. The fact that this video can help me go to sleep with good vibes space stuff, in contrast to my experience, makes me feel nice
I came here to go to sleep but stayed up for an extra hour. This was way too interesting!
As others have said, this is absolutely wonderful, thanks for uploading. The intentional asmr isn't a patch on this.
Damn it. I can't sleep cause he's got REALLY good points!
With how fast and crazy life feels it's videos like this that just slows things down in such a pleasant way.
This man is brilliant at explaining things!! Why havn't i heard of him before? He really is an incredible educator!!!
This video appeared out of nowhere and now I love this man
This is wise, thoughtful, relaxing, entertaining and up to date at the same time!
This guy is fantastic. Interesting, explains things well, and a fantastic voice. Kudos.
It was awful
@@brandoballer47 Maybe not for everyone.
its a pity that the video skips during the interesting parts, making the meaning of what he is trying to say remain unresolved to the watcher. :(
Hi! We specifically edited this video for ASMR purposes, but we included the links of the original videos/playlist should you be interested in the original content. Cheers!
@@PureUnintentionalASMR Thank you for doing so(!)
@@PureUnintentionalASMR thank you for clearing that up. The conspiracy theorist in me was getting agitated.
@@LifeHacks-pu3ol what
@@Ben.N it just reminded me of a time when information wasn't so easily available.
why did they cut the video when cutting the worm in half. on the full vid he didnt actually cut it, he actually says "you didnt actually think i was going to do that did you"
This is the most perfect, fantastic, amazing thing that the algorithm had ever blessed me with!!! I'm almost too excited to sleep!
The fact that he pulled some worms out of a box in his desk raises so many questions I no longer care about space I want to know more about this magical box of worms
it reminds me of a teacher like this man back in college in the morning. Was a pure somnolent dose of interesting facts that prolonged the dreams of before.
I hope this man has lots more life in him.
Judging by the laptop and camera quality I'd guess this video is ~15 years old. I wonder how he's doing now
@@benmartin6644 maybe he doesn't like throwing things away. Lol
@@Cole-jb5ip Yeah look at all that stuff in the background
According to Wikipedia he's alive, retired, and just celebrated his 90th birthday on December 24th.
He died 23 years ago
This is all extremely interesting, and explained in a simple and understandable matter.
I do absolutely loathe the interruptions that cut away important stuff here and there
RIP Professor Russell Stannard. You will be missed.

Scientist: “are worms conscious?”
Worm: “hello loud creature, can you understand me as I’m sending out tiny little vibrations as my form of communication?”
Scientist: “let’s cut it in half!”
Worm: “ what are you doing? Arrrrrgh! Why?!? Why!?!”
Was looking for something to fall asleep to, ended up being so involved and awake! extremely relaxed though! Such a great video!
I have fallen asleep no less than 20x to this video already. I can just let myself drift off because i know I can listen to it over and over.
I bet this buys me 100 more sleeps.
They do say you can learn while you sleep.
Regardless, in a 100 sleeps from now, I will listen to it, in its entirety during the day and then find Part 2. Love him
I learned from the video that our consciousness cannot be predicted absolutely from the sub-atomic level on out like an iteration in a sequence, because electrons are unpredictable. Having said that, I think the randomness at the sub-atomic level somehow producing measurable patterns we know as the laws of physics is a great irony. A creator source has to exist, right? I mean, what made matter? Zzzzz...
This is right up my street as someone studying physics and philosophy. Excellent!
I'm just trying to go to sleep, and bros got me questioning existence.
This video is literally A+
My brain loves the content and this man’s ability to teach but simultaneously enjoys the ASMR sound tones. I’m blissfully confused.

Not bad. Great voice, good writing. For those who like this, I strongly suggest David Butler's ''How far away is it' series, and Anton Petrov's 'What da Math' RUclipss.
Anton Petrov is great. His compilations for sleep, and separate videos for interesting tidbits and science updates 🙂
Event horizon is also another good one.
David Butler... what a guy, absolutely love his videos. Also a lot of love for Anton... what a wonderful person
as a physics major, this brings me back to the good old days when i would fall asleep in class.
this man is a genius! Only geniuses can explain such deep science in such a simple, understandable and interesting way!
This is common knowledge if you're an inquisitive person
This is amazing not only it is super relaxing its very accurate I hate watching asmr videos where the facts are wrong, then its all I can think about.
RIP, Prof. Russel Stannard. A great mind who will be sorely missed 😢
Oddly interesting I put this on to sleep but now im just hunched over watching & listening
What a human being. More advanced than most of us.
soft voice, calm, a gentleman, knowledgeable, like a kind grandpa telling you a story
thank you
My now favorite physicist. He’s way less annoying than NGT and many others
This is a very fascinating concept. I don't get the ASMR part of it, but it's nice and peaceful to listen to.
I’ve listened to this video every night for weeks. Helps me sleep so well. Thanks for the upload!
This is superb. Unintentionally interesting and hilarious whilst also being unintentionally sleep inducing! What an experience.
It's like my intelligent grandpa telling me bedtime stories as I fall asleep
Russel stannard lived a good, long life. May he rest in peace forever.
While I find this fascinating, the part that got me was within this old man and all this scientific and psychological conversation… this man mentioned PlayStations lol. He’s savvy. His brain is truly conscious XD
I didn't actually end up using this to sleep. It was so relaxing I wanted to stay awake for it.
I know what you mean. I just love learning new facts. I love making fact videos and watching them. I just love knowledge full stop lol.
I just found a video to put me in a deep sleep. His voice is so soothing and trustworthy!!❤❤
What an interesting speaker!! He’s great
I agree, by the way I checked out your channel and liked it! Let's stay connected.
This video is so fire honestly. I needed some background talking white noise so i could focus on work and i started getting sleepy instead. Actually amazing stuff here. Its interesting and soothing all at the same time. Great stuff.
I love relaxing fact videos, both making and watching. I just love to learn lol what topics do you enjoy?
Rip to this legend. He relaxed and blown our minds away. Fly high into space legend 🕊️
