I have a 4K TV that has a PC mode that allows for variable resolutions which works great with an OSSC which can allow for resolutions of 1600x1200. Unfortunately it doesn’t have a 1440p mode so the Mclassic can only go up to 1080p. I think if Marseille added an extra switch that allows them to force 1440p, they can allow it work on TVs that don’t support 1440p but allow it to take advantage of 4K TVs that have PC supported resolutions. I know that sounds a bit niche, but I think there is a bit of untapped potential the Mclassic could take advantage of. It could work like this: Input 0: Passthrough Mode no light, Input 1: Processing Mode green light, Input 2: Retro Mode Blue light, Input 3: 1440p only mode Red light. (Oh and a retro mode for that too) I suppose that means they would need to redesign the Mclassic to add more switches, but that’s just my take on it and I would like to see what Marseille will do next.

I am mostly pleased with the mClassic, but it would be nice to have a model that can output 2160p@60hz (4K) with HDR passthrough. Not sure how that would work exactly since HDR is kind of its own thing and there are several formats, but that would be way cool for a future product. Especially if the mClassic supported 2160p with Dolby Vision passthrough. You could call it the mClassic 4K.
That's gonna be almost impossible because the Dolby Vision format is far from perfection, not to mention that HDR is easier to implement.. that's why Samsung stays away from Dolby Vision and they decided to perfect HDR to HDR Plus 10 or Ultra.. Dolby Vision 100 accuracy wont be around for a while..

When will this new "prototype" be available? I have a 1440p monitor and would love to be able to force the mClassic to output at 1440p all the time regardless of the signal input. Having it output 1080p on a 1440p display sort of defeats the purpose to a degree, I would much prefer if it if it was just always targeting the monitors native resolution.
@b0rd2dEAth it does work for other people though, I've read multiple comments and reviews from people stating that they use it on their 1440p monitor. that's also the only reason I ordered it. I don't have a tv but only a qhd monitor.

Just want to make clear that I love my mClassic and it does everything it was advertised to do, however I'd love to take full advantage of the processing it does with my 4K TV.
The Marseille products not are ables to support 4K ( except the mCable Cinema, but only in video contents) or HDR . And trying a mClassic in current consoles like Xbox Series or Ps5, is wasting your time & money. Are magnificient products for displays like "old" consoles or Nintendo Switch, who have his limit in 1080p. The mClassic can rescale the image to your tv or monitor to pretty 1440...... But Switch have a little trouble to achieving this resolution in the LG tvs. This tvs, get the 1440p resolution ( I comproves it witx my Series X), but only via 2.1 at 60 hrz or more, not at 30, what is the "roof" with Nintendo Switch with a HDMI cable 2.0. I connect my console, making the experiment, with a Ibra 2.1 HDMI in the mClassic..... & shit one more time. Other users with other tv's or monitors, don't have that problem, and enjoy with his Switches in 1440p since the first day. Cheers!.
@@matteog.6909 correct, I wish this was advertised. I bought an LG c1 oled recently, and I was really excited to use mclassic on it for my switch. I quickly learned that although it still does the antialiasing for my switch, it does not upscale the resolution at all because the LG c1 doesn't support 1440p. It's very disappointing but sometimes that's just how things go I guess.
@@ScrimmyBunglets Have you tried setting the resolution to 720p to let mclassic does the upscale to 1080? To me it seems that the C1 does a better job upscaling, so it is better to leave the switch at 1080. But maybe are just my eyes
This seemed like an unnecessarily long video to explain/show to people why they didn't sell a version of MClassic that forced 1440p... because not all TV/monitors support that resolution mode... so it's really up to the consumer to ensure their TV supports the resolution or else mClassic simply outputs to the highest support resolution of up to 1440p, but for most people without that resolution, would be 1080p but maybe with enhanced other postprocessing to improve image quality.

I finally have a TV that supports 1440p but the mCable still says it outputs to 1080p... this may still be an issue with the TV I have but this is very frustrating that it really is difficult to get the cable to perform up to the potential it boasts as a feature, when 1440p is not a common resolution for smart TV's but is 4K instead.@@MarseilleInc
Why don’t you release the “forced” firmware to your customers to update their mclassic if they’re willing to try it on their TVs. It may not work for all brands but for some customers it will work. They can also flash their device back to the 1080p software.

From our limited test over dozen of 4K TV models, forcing EDID doesn't always work unfortunately. Thank you for sharing your request and frustration. My TV supports 1440p when I set it to 1440p on Xbox series X but when using mclassic with xbox 360 it defaults to 1080p. It would be nice if there was a firmware upgrade to force 1440p.
This is great, but it's also a big downer for people who dropped a substantial amount of money on the mClassic early on. Will your early supporters be asked to spend another $70 to $100?

Marseilles, when you perfect this Mclassic are you willing to take trade ins from the old Mclassic. We all have spent a lot of money for the product and also to back you up because we love the Idea.. HDMI 2.1 is on the rise and 2.0 was the way to go. The Mclassic is 1.4 if I'm correct. Would you take trade ins?? In the end, nothing is wrong with the mClassic. Thank you Marseille for showing this. All we can really do now is contact LG and have the 2019 OLED TVs to have native 1440p @ 60Hz just like the UM7300.
Until this day the LG OLED C9 is not supporting 1440p native. LG support confirmed this to me. But they told me they forwarded this issue (for LG it's probably no issue) to the product development team. As I don't think that a single request would change anything anybody with this problem should approach LG service himself.

I just ordered the MClassic, I'll be providing video reviews on the video quality and the PS3 upscaling. I'm using a 1440p monitor and I'll be capturing using OBS and Elgato HD60±
You need a updated version of the mclassic that forces 1440p. Some 4K tv's even some OLEDs take 1440p but it needs to be forced in order to work because the EDID settings on these tvs for whatever reason doesn't have it enable natively. Please make a forced version for 1440p 30hz/60hz/120hz. Thank you.
Hi. I comment a little bit up of your message. I put the 2.1 HDMI what use in my Series X with the mClassic ( for Switch), and keep it without 1440p. Nintendo Switch maybe don't accept more hertzs than 30, and the LG OLED ( in my home, the BX on 65" ) don't support 1440p at 30 hrzs ( but yes at 60 or 120) . Bad luck, I know also.
@@seanmcbay , yes dude. But not for 1440p . Some LG models of tvs only run this resolution at 60 hzs or 120. Maybe I'm mistaked about it, but in my past B7 & my current BX, 1440p not are abled under the 60 hzs. In other tvs don't have this problem, by the way. Cheers.

Most 4k tvs do not support 1440p you are going to have a continuous support issue with customers if it's at all possible a true 4k mclassic preferably also with HDR support is what many of your customers truly want and need
That's what I said in previous video. They release already outdated product and now offer excuses that's almost all tv is bad, not their product. BUT WHERE WAS ALL THIS VIDEOS BEFORE SELLING TO US THIS?!?! Something like: "guys look, only some samsung tvs can work properly with our device, be patient"? Noooo, 1st buy, then listen about problems. Dirty move. If there will be no update for 4k scaling then it's useless product for 100$+
We stated many times throughout that 4K upscaling is for film and video content. 1440p support is an upgrade over the mClassic and is there for those who can use it. It's also a matter of future proofing as 1440p becomes more widely used. When TVs are ready, the mClassic will be there to help.

@@MarseilleInc I'm not having any issues I was simply stating that due to the fact that many modern TV skip 1440p in favor of 1080p and 4k your product doesn't work for many use cases especially since HDR games on both consoles and windows 11 PCs have become common place and also have auto remapping to play sdr games in HDR nowadays if you were to make a product that could support VRR HDR you would become huge but being stuck to being the most relevant when paired with older technologies is holding your company back sure your device is a game charger for the Nintendo switch but it's just not doing enough for modern consoles like the ps5 and Xbox series x and you can't forget that Nintendo is working on the next switch replacement you need to be ready for the up coming market with VRR and HDR as standard common place technologies
Can you explain why the switch should be put into 720p? I also have a LG OLED B series from 2018. Its a really nice TV. I do not think it has 1440p though. My switch is currently set to “auto” but can also be used at 1080p for many games. How would downgrading to 720p and then using the mclassic benefit me?
Essentially, most Switch games don't actually run at 1080p, they tend to run closer to 720p. This means the dock has to do some upscaling to achieve 1080p. However, the mClassic does this better. If you don't adjust it, you'll still get an enhanced signal with the mClassic, but it won't be able to improve the image as much because the signal will have already been tainted.

You could have a switch on the other side perhaps much like the one to enable full processing/retro mode but just on the opposite side. E.g. You could have 3 settings to force 4K, 1440p or off (standard) and just color code them differently.

Me, BX user. Great level on graphic impact ( before the mClassic I was mCable user too also in a B7 ) for Nintendo Switch in Dock mode. But not possible to enjoy 1440p. Only Marseilleinc or LG know the reasons, but this is the truth. In monitors , or tvs from other brands, don't got that problem. If you have a big LG OLED..... Better don't hope to can give to your Nintendo Switch this pretty visual power-up.

Hey Miguel! The mClassic only upscales to 4K when the source is 24Hz or 30Hz. PS3 games always output 60Hz, so the maximum resolution mClassic can output is 1440p60 if your TV/Monitor support it, otherwise it would be 1080p60. Hope this clarifies things!
Whenever I get 1440p on my TCL Q7 (that natively supports it) it shows up with tons of artefacts on screen and I'm forced to keep it at 1080p Any ideas why? Im using the HDMI 2.1 port that supports up to 4k 120hrz
I just got my Mclassic. But how are you forcing 1440p on a TV that natively foes not? I have a 4k TV and it just keeps saying 1080p. I really don't know what device or what you did you force the connection to display 1440. I was listening and watching you. But I don't know what you did differently to achieve that goal. I can play 4k just fine with ps5 and I can watch 1440p via RUclips and what not. But idk how to force that image. Just keeps upscale to 1080p. Even if I change the resolution to 720 on switch or 1080.
@MarseilleInc Wow, I did not know I'd hear back after 2 years. But sounds good. I ended up getting a curved monitor and it works great on there. I play my Switch or PS2 paired with it. I hope you're company has plans for future devices to do more like 4k or just more options down the road. But otherwise I'm happy with my purchase.
I've seen in many instances that the mClassic can upscale to 4k@30hz - so why not have this as a variant? 1440p mat not be a common tv format, but 4k is - and for games that run at 30fps (like a lot of switch games) this would be a god-send. At the minute, the only solution I've seen to get the mClassic to upscale a nintendo switch to 4k is by using a very expensive refresh-rate downscalar - to force 4k@30hz. A version of the mClassic that allow a 4k@30hz option would be amazing (perhaps refresh-rate downscaling would be too difficult for such a small device? I'm not sure)

Is there a version that maxes out at 1080p? When I use a 4K capture card, it passes the signal through as 1440p even though the TV only supports 1080p, resulting in an invalid format. Disabling the mClassic restores the video to normal. On a completely different topic, will there be a version that can line double a 480i signal? I’m thinking the majority of the PS2 library.
1. The mCables from the past do max out at 1080p. 2. They’re working on new ideas for an updated mClassic product. I’m not 100% sure on this. This is just my guess.
Depends on the video card, you can force it like in Nvidia settings but some TV might no work, that's why the 10 second message wanna keep this resolution...

@@unknown183 you plug it into the female side of the M classic then plug in a HDMI cable to your monitor I could send you a picture if you'd like. so the way it should go is switch - m classic - Hdmi Edid passthrough - HDMI cable - TV or monitor
Is a great combo, & my option: mClassic & mCable Cinema Edition. The mClassic got the same results like the mCable Gaming. & the Cinema edition added in the set, offers the increasement in contrast of this type of model. Are as you use an mCable Gaming & an mCable Cinema together in a split. Very gorgeous!. The only bad thing: You can't obtain 1440p if your screen are a LG OLED tv.

How can I hack my mClassic to ignore the TVs eid? It would probably work on the LG C9 OLED since it supports 1440p@60hz forced. It looks like in the video you’re using one of the older OLED models that don’t support 1440p in any form.

A couple questions. I'm confused on how this forcing method is applied. I heard it can be done on the new LG C1, which I may consider getting, but I would like to know how. I may consider a Samsung QN90A (the new Neo QLED model) instead because it natively supports 1440p@60hz. Also, for Switch games that natively run in 1080p such as Super Smash Bros Ultimate and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, can I set the Switch to 1080p and still have the mClassic upscale it to 1440p or show any sign of improvements, or do I need to have the Switch set to 720p at all times to see improvements?

Has this been fixed yet? Near as I can tell the mClassic will not output 1440p on any TCL televisions at all. This is a massive disappointment. I guess I should return this device.

Wouldn't be a problem, even if you're getting 1080p from the mClassic, you're getting an enhanced 1080p that includes improved color, anti-aliasing, and so on.
I have an LG OLED that only supports 1080p with the mClassic, and I can confirm that it still looks better on a Switch outputting 720p than it does with no mClassic at 1080p. Is it enough to warrant the price of an mClassic? That's up to you, but I wouldn't buy it for a PS4 Pro or XB1X that normally outputs at 2160. If you play a lot of classic systems with HDMI converters it's definitely worth it.
Ryan Weiss I bought it for my Switch basically. I haven’t noticed much of a difference is the main reason I was disappointed but in videos with 1440p I could see a clear difference.
@@thedigitalden6638 You have to activate 720p output over HDMI in the Switch settings for maximal effect. Depending on the screen you're using, the mClassic will upscale to 1080p or 1440p and it will look far better than the 1080p with no antialiasing that the Switch dock provides on most games.
There are EDID emulator dongles (you plug on your tv port and the device will read this as if it would support these resolutions. But soo far they only work for 4k, or at least I haven't found one that emulates the 1440p + 4k dongle. Maybe this would be a nice product idea.

Anyway you can release a firmware update that allows for outputting 1440p120? I understand this will not our games go at 120 fps, but it will make it compatible with many tvs that do support 1440p at 120 hz and the TV will match the Fps to 60/30 correctly automatically

I believe as we move forwards more and more TVs will accept 1440p resolution...which is great cause most gamers agree that playing 1440p@120fps is better than 4K@60FPS. Therefore creating An mClassic 1440p version would be awesome!!! Naturally it would have to support HDMI 2.1

We're considering a future version that might have the option, but to do this we'd have to eliminate one of the three modes. Most likely the retro mode.

Why the hell the lg oled c9 only support 1440p @ 120hz...-.- i see you get the message invalid format, but if i do my pc to 1440p 60 hz the oled Shows 2160p so it just upscaler or whatever but it dont Show invalid format. but then u basically get a double upscale. U upscale switch from 720p to 1440p with mclassic then the tv has to upscaling 1440p to 4k. Would be better if u could upscale 720p to 4k and then feed it to the tv.

What I need is actually the opposite. mClassic should downscale 4k to 1440p for the million of people that have a ps4 pro and a 1440p monitor but no 4k TV. It's really annoying that ps4 doesn't support 1440p.

I bought this mclassic thinking it upscaled to 4K which he says in this video around the 00:15 mark and it also says it on the website but IT DOESN’T WORK I have a 4K tv, straight up lie on his part.
I think let people have the option to force that resolution I would rather have the option and found out that my TV doesn't support it than not have the option at all.

Pero no funciona en Samsung 4k 😠, compré en vano el mClassic, ya que NO FUNCIONA es ese tipo de televisor. Su correo:" I checked Samsung NU7100 in this web site and found 1440p60 is not supported. That is why mClassic output 1080p60." No avisaron en Kickstarter que televisores son compatibles.
No conseguí los 1440p ni en mi anterior LG B7, ni en mi actual BX desde hace unos meses. Parece ser que el problema de ello es debido a la tasa de herzios con algunas teles. Creo que tanto la Switch como el propio mClassic, pueden llegar a aceptar un reescalado a 1440p pero sólo a 30 herzios. Y algunos modelos de televisores, como la gama de LG que yo uso, la reproducen pero sólo con los 60 y/o 120 herzios que transmite un HDMI 2.1 a consolas como las Series X, PS5, o un PC . Curioso y una putada, sí, en el caso de que tengas tu mClassic y tus mCables sólo con interés en usarlos con la Switch. Es un problema "cruzado"... Por cierto, que probé a cambiar el cable Cinema que uso con la Switch y el mClassic por el HDMI 2.1 que le puse a mi Series X....Y tampoco nada de nada. Lógico por otra parte si el "trampeo" a 1440p que le hace el mClassic a la Switch no puede beneficiarse de una mayor transmisión de herzios que es la única manera de reproducir esa resolución en la BX. Un saludo y una pena, hay por ahí vídeos de juegos de la consola funcionando a 1440p, que son una pasada.

I'm having same situation.... 55 Oled LG + Mclassic = no working. You should try to release new version, including 4k force output & HDR. As baker....ill have to buy new TV or something xD mmm Mclassic should work with 2160p?

I've been trying for over an hour just to ask on reddit how to change to 1440p on a 4k tv and can't get a fucking word out there right now for no reason , so just PLEASE help me on how to get a Phillips 5000 Series 4k tv to 1440p in the settings . This product has been nothing but a problem for me . Would I be able to use a 1440p hdmi cable on a 4k tv to get a 1440p signal ? Please assist me with this .

@@JuanDiaz-jo1rw What? Breath of the Wild renders at 30fps but the switch outputs 60fps. I refuse to believe that the mClassic hardware can't be configured to ignore every 2nd frame. We'd actually get a 4k output that way.
@@DiminuendoBlue well you better belive it,, because that means that 1 or 2 frames wont get rendered at a higher res. Witch itll cost games to flicker between frame.. And second every retro console works and calculates FPS differently, which also means that it can brake games on other consoles. On top of that the game is not being processed through the Mclassic. The gpu and cpu of the console is doing it. All the Mclassic is doing, is cleaning the picture and upscaling it. Not taking the place of the console processing chip. The only thing in this world that can speed up games is Alienware computers that have the tower adapters. The consoles we use are not programmed to send the processing to an external gpu or cpu. So your idea wont work.
Juan Diaz between your broken English and insistence on talking about “retro games” while we are not discussing a retro console, you’ve convinced me that you have no idea what you’re in about. I’m perfectly aware the mClassic only provides post processing. I simply want it to correctly detect Breath of the Wilds 30fps frame rates allow the mClassic to use its 4K upscale feature I never suggested speeding up any games either, so I have no idea where you got that idea.

I have a 4K TV that has a PC mode that allows for variable resolutions which works great with an OSSC which can allow for resolutions of 1600x1200. Unfortunately it doesn’t have a 1440p mode so the Mclassic can only go up to 1080p.
I think if Marseille added an extra switch that allows them to force 1440p, they can allow it work on TVs that don’t support 1440p but allow it to take advantage of 4K TVs that have PC supported resolutions. I know that sounds a bit niche, but I think there is a bit of untapped potential the Mclassic could take advantage of.
It could work like this:
Input 0: Passthrough Mode no light,
Input 1: Processing Mode green light,
Input 2: Retro Mode Blue light,
Input 3: 1440p only mode Red light. (Oh and a retro mode for that too)
I suppose that means they would need to redesign the Mclassic to add more switches, but that’s just my take on it and I would like to see what Marseille will do next.

I am mostly pleased with the mClassic, but it would be nice to have a model that can output 2160p@60hz (4K) with HDR passthrough. Not sure how that would work exactly since HDR is kind of its own thing and there are several formats, but that would be way cool for a future product. Especially if the mClassic supported 2160p with Dolby Vision passthrough. You could call it the mClassic 4K.
That's gonna be almost impossible because the Dolby Vision format is far from perfection, not to mention that HDR is easier to implement.. that's why Samsung stays away from Dolby Vision and they decided to perfect HDR to HDR Plus 10 or Ultra.. Dolby Vision 100 accuracy wont be around for a while..

When will this new "prototype" be available? I have a 1440p monitor and would love to be able to force the mClassic to output at 1440p all the time regardless of the signal input. Having it output 1080p on a 1440p display sort of defeats the purpose to a degree, I would much prefer if it if it was just always targeting the monitors native resolution.

@b0rd2dEAth It's counter intuitive, but your devices need to be set to 480p or 720p. It does not make much difference if consoles are set above 720p.

@b0rd2dEAth it does work for other people though, I've read multiple comments and reviews from people stating that they use it on their 1440p monitor. that's also the only reason I ordered it. I don't have a tv but only a qhd monitor.

I would love a version that outputs at 4K. I have an LG C8, which does not support 1440p.
Just want to make clear that I love my mClassic and it does everything it was advertised to do, however I'd love to take full advantage of the processing it does with my 4K TV.
The Marseille products not are ables to support 4K ( except the mCable Cinema, but only in video contents) or HDR . And trying a mClassic in current consoles like Xbox Series or Ps5, is wasting your time & money.
Are magnificient products for displays like "old" consoles or Nintendo Switch, who have his limit in 1080p. The mClassic can rescale the image to your tv or monitor to pretty 1440...... But Switch have a little trouble to achieving this resolution in the LG tvs. This tvs, get the 1440p resolution ( I comproves it witx my Series X), but only via 2.1 at 60 hrz or more, not at 30, what is the "roof" with Nintendo Switch with a HDMI cable 2.0.
I connect my console, making the experiment, with a Ibra 2.1 HDMI in the mClassic..... & shit one more time. Other users with other tv's or monitors, don't have that problem, and enjoy with his Switches in 1440p since the first day.

@@matteog.6909 correct, I wish this was advertised. I bought an LG c1 oled recently, and I was really excited to use mclassic on it for my switch. I quickly learned that although it still does the antialiasing for my switch, it does not upscale the resolution at all because the LG c1 doesn't support 1440p. It's very disappointing but sometimes that's just how things go I guess.
@@ScrimmyBunglets Have you tried setting the resolution to 720p to let mclassic does the upscale to 1080? To me it seems that the C1 does a better job upscaling, so it is better to leave the switch at 1080. But maybe are just my eyes
This seemed like an unnecessarily long video to explain/show to people why they didn't sell a version of MClassic that forced 1440p... because not all TV/monitors support that resolution mode... so it's really up to the consumer to ensure their TV supports the resolution or else mClassic simply outputs to the highest support resolution of up to 1440p, but for most people without that resolution, would be 1080p but maybe with enhanced other postprocessing to improve image quality.

Hello. I still struggle with this problem in my original comment. I finally have a TV that supports 1440p but the mCable still says it outputs to 1080p... this may still be an issue with the TV I have but this is very frustrating that it really is difficult to get the cable to perform up to the potential it boasts as a feature, when 1440p is not a common resolution for smart TV's but is 4K instead.@@MarseilleInc
Why don’t you release the “forced” firmware to your customers to update their mclassic if they’re willing to try it on their TVs. It may not work for all brands but for some customers it will work. They can also flash their device back to the 1080p software.
Hey there! It is a constant debate at Marseille whether or not we should release an mClassic that forces EDID. From our limited test over dozen of 4K TV models, forcing EDID doesn't always work unfortunately. Thank you for sharing your request and frustration. My TV supports 1440p when I set it to 1440p on Xbox series X but when using mclassic with xbox 360 it defaults to 1080p. It would be nice if there was a firmware upgrade to force 1440p.

Marseilles, when you perfect this Mclassic are you willing to take trade ins from the old Mclassic. We all have spent a lot of money for the product and also to back you up because we love the Idea.. HDMI 2.1 is on the rise and 2.0 was the way to go. The Mclassic is 1.4 if I'm correct. Would you take trade ins?? I know this is a question that's on a lot of ppls heads because this stuff is a bit expensive.. I myself bought 2 Mclassics, but all I've been hearing are negatives.. what's your thoughts on this.. Marseille for showing this. All we can really do now is contact LG and have the 2019 OLED TVs to have native 1440p @ 60Hz just like the UM7300.
Until this day the LG OLED C9 is not supporting 1440p native. LG support confirmed this to me. But they told me they forwarded this issue (for LG it's probably no issue) to the product development team. As I don't think that a single request would change anything anybody with this problem should approach LG service himself.
This is disappointing to hear. I am not surprised since TV companies do this all the time.

You need a updated version of the mclassic that forces 1440p. Some 4K tv's even some OLEDs take 1440p but it needs to be forced in order to work because the EDID settings on these tvs for whatever reason doesn't have it enable natively. Please make a forced version for 1440p 30hz/60hz/120hz. Thank you.
Hi. I comment a little bit up of your message. I put the 2.1 HDMI what use in my Series X with the mClassic ( for Switch), and keep it without 1440p.
Nintendo Switch maybe don't accept more hertzs than 30, and the LG OLED ( in my home, the BX on 65" ) don't support 1440p at 30 hrzs ( but yes at 60 or 120) .

@@seanmcbay , yes dude. But not for 1440p . Some LG models of tvs only run this resolution at 60 hzs or 120. Maybe I'm mistaked about it, but in my past B7 & my current BX, 1440p not are abled under the 60 hzs. In other tvs don't have this problem, by the way.

Most 4k tvs do not support 1440p you are going to have a continuous support issue with customers if it's at all possible a true 4k mclassic preferably also with HDR support is what many of your customers truly want and need
That's what I said in previous video. They release already outdated product and now offer excuses that's almost all tv is bad, not their product.
BUT WHERE WAS ALL THIS VIDEOS BEFORE SELLING TO US THIS?!?! Something like: "guys look, only some samsung tvs can work properly with our device, be patient"? Noooo, 1st buy, then listen about problems. Dirty move.
If there will be no update for 4k scaling then it's useless product for 100$+
We stated many times throughout that 4K upscaling is for film and video content. 1440p support is an upgrade over the mClassic and is there for those who can use it. It's also a matter of future proofing as 1440p becomes more widely used. When TVs are ready, the mClassic will be there to help.
It's still an improvement at 1080p though. It smooths a lot of jagged edges from anti aliasing. I'm satisfied with mine on my OLED LG.

@@MarseilleInc I'm not having any issues I was simply stating that due to the fact that many modern TV skip 1440p in favor of 1080p and 4k your product doesn't work for many use cases especially since HDR games on both consoles and windows 11 PCs have become common place and also have auto remapping to play sdr games in HDR nowadays if you were to make a product that could support VRR HDR you would become huge but being stuck to being the most relevant when paired with older technologies is holding your company back sure your device is a game charger for the Nintendo switch but it's just not doing enough for modern consoles like the ps5 and Xbox series x and you can't forget that Nintendo is working on the next switch replacement you need to be ready for the up coming market with VRR and HDR as standard common place technologies
Can you explain why the switch should be put into 720p? I also have a LG OLED B series from 2018. Its a really nice TV. I do not think it has 1440p though. My switch is currently set to “auto” but can also be used at 1080p for many games. How would downgrading to 720p and then using the mclassic benefit me?
Essentially, most Switch games don't actually run at 1080p, they tend to run closer to 720p. This means the dock has to do some upscaling to achieve 1080p. However, the mClassic does this better. If you don't adjust it, you'll still get an enhanced signal with the mClassic, but it won't be able to improve the image as much because the signal will have already been tainted.

You could have a switch on the other side perhaps much like the one to enable full processing/retro mode but just on the opposite side. E.g. You could have 3 settings to force 4K, 1440p or off (standard) and just color code them differently.

LG C9 user. Really wish the TV supported native 1440p. My Mclassic is only outputting 1080p.
Me, BX user. Great level on graphic impact ( before the mClassic I was mCable user too also in a B7 ) for Nintendo Switch in Dock mode. But not possible to enjoy 1440p. Only Marseilleinc or LG know the reasons, but this is the truth. In monitors , or tvs from other brands, don't got that problem. If you have a big LG OLED..... Better don't hope to can give to your Nintendo Switch this pretty visual power-up.

Hey Miguel! The mClassic only upscales to 4K when the source is 24Hz or 30Hz. PS3 games always output 60Hz, so the maximum resolution mClassic can output is 1440p60 if your TV/Monitor support it, otherwise it would be 1080p60. Hope this clarifies things!
Whenever I get 1440p on my TCL Q7 (that natively supports it) it shows up with tons of artefacts on screen and I'm forced to keep it at 1080p

I just got my Mclassic. But how are you forcing 1440p on a TV that natively foes not? I have a 4k TV and it just keeps saying 1080p. I really don't know what device or what you did you force the connection to display 1440. I was listening and watching you. But I don't know what you did differently to achieve that goal. I can play 4k just fine with ps5 and I can watch 1440p via RUclips and what not. But idk how to force that image. Just keeps upscale to 1080p. Even if I change the resolution to 720 on switch or 1080.

@MarseilleInc Wow, I did not know I'd hear back after 2 years. But sounds good. I ended up getting a curved monitor and it works great on there. I play my Switch or PS2 paired with it. I hope you're company has plans for future devices to do more like 4k or just more options down the road. But otherwise I'm happy with my purchase.
I’m also in need of this forced feature with my LG OLED like most stuck on this issue.
I've seen in many instances that the mClassic can upscale to 4k@30hz - so why not have this as a variant? 1440p mat not be a common tv format, but 4k is - and for games that run at 30fps (like a lot of switch games) this would be a god-send. At the minute, the only solution I've seen to get the mClassic to upscale a nintendo switch to 4k is by using a very expensive refresh-rate downscalar - to force 4k@30hz. A version of the mClassic that allow a 4k@30hz option would be amazing (perhaps refresh-rate downscaling would be too difficult for such a small device? I'm not sure)

Is there a version that maxes out at 1080p? When I use a 4K capture card, it passes the signal through as 1440p even though the TV only supports 1080p, resulting in an invalid format. Disabling the mClassic restores the video to normal.
On a completely different topic, will there be a version that can line double a 480i signal? I’m thinking the majority of the PS2 library.
1. The mCables from the past do max out at 1080p.
2. They’re working on new ideas for an updated mClassic product. I’m not 100% sure on this. This is just my guess.

Depends on the video card, you can force it like in Nvidia settings but some TV might no work, that's why the 10 second message wanna keep this resolution...
That's correct :( It is a constant debate at Marseille whether or not we should release an mClassic that forces EDID. From our limited test over dozen of 4K TV models, forcing EDID doesn't always work unfortunately. Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us!
just buy a EVanlak Hdmi Edid passthrough for 2k it tells the M classic that it's hooked up to a 1440P monitor this worked for me

Is a great combo, & my option: mClassic & mCable Cinema Edition. The mClassic got the same results like the mCable Gaming. & the Cinema edition added in the set, offers the increasement in contrast of this type of model. Are as you use an mCable Gaming & an mCable Cinema together in a split. Very gorgeous!.
The only bad thing: You can't obtain 1440p if your screen are a LG OLED tv.

How can I hack my mClassic to ignore the TVs eid? It would probably work on the LG C9 OLED since it supports 1440p@60hz forced. It looks like in the video you’re using one of the older OLED models that don’t support 1440p in any form.

A couple questions. I'm confused on how this forcing method is applied. I heard it can be done on the new LG C1, which I may consider getting, but I would like to know how. I may consider a Samsung QN90A (the new Neo QLED model) instead because it natively supports 1440p@60hz. Also, for Switch games that natively run in 1080p such as Super Smash Bros Ultimate and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, can I set the Switch to 1080p and still have the mClassic upscale it to 1440p or show any sign of improvements, or do I need to have the Switch set to 720p at all times to see improvements?

Has this been fixed yet? Near as I can tell the mClassic will not output 1440p on any TCL televisions at all. This is a massive disappointment. I guess I should return this device.

Wouldn't be a problem, even if you're getting 1080p from the mClassic, you're getting an enhanced 1080p that includes improved color, anti-aliasing, and so on.
Marseille Inc Thats good to know. Maybe in the future I will get a new TV to support 1440p for maximum effect.
I have an LG OLED that only supports 1080p with the mClassic, and I can confirm that it still looks better on a Switch outputting 720p than it does with no mClassic at 1080p. Is it enough to warrant the price of an mClassic? That's up to you, but I wouldn't buy it for a PS4 Pro or XB1X that normally outputs at 2160. If you play a lot of classic systems with HDMI converters it's definitely worth it.
Ryan Weiss I bought it for my Switch basically. I haven’t noticed much of a difference is the main reason I was disappointed but in videos with 1440p I could see a clear difference.
@@thedigitalden6638 You have to activate 720p output over HDMI in the Switch settings for maximal effect. Depending on the screen you're using, the mClassic will upscale to 1080p or 1440p and it will look far better than the 1080p with no antialiasing that the Switch dock provides on most games.
There are EDID emulator dongles (you plug on your tv port and the device will read this as if it would support these resolutions. But soo far they only work for 4k, or at least I haven't found one that emulates the 1440p + 4k dongle. Maybe this would be a nice product idea.

Anyway you can release a firmware update that allows for outputting 1440p120? I understand this will not our games go at 120 fps, but it will make it compatible with many tvs that do support 1440p at 120 hz and the TV will match the Fps to 60/30 correctly automatically

I believe as we move forwards more and more TVs will accept 1440p resolution...which is great cause most gamers agree that playing 1440p@120fps is better than 4K@60FPS. Therefore creating An mClassic 1440p version would be awesome!!! Naturally it would have to support HDMI 2.1

Would be nice if a simple firmware update via usb to our existing mClassic would be able to do this.
We're considering a future version that might have the option, but to do this we'd have to eliminate one of the three modes. Most likely the retro mode.

but then u basically get a double upscale. U upscale switch from 720p to 1440p with mclassic then the tv has to upscaling 1440p to 4k. Would be better if u could upscale 720p to 4k and then feed it to the tv.

What I need is actually the opposite. mClassic should downscale 4k to 1440p for the million of people that have a ps4 pro and a 1440p monitor but no 4k TV. It's really annoying that ps4 doesn't support 1440p.

No way to achieving 1440p in a LG BX tv. It's a really pity, but a great item for Nintendo Switch btw.

No conseguí los 1440p ni en mi anterior LG B7, ni en mi actual BX desde hace unos meses. Parece ser que el problema de ello es debido a la tasa de herzios con algunas teles. Creo que tanto la Switch como el propio mClassic, pueden llegar a aceptar un reescalado a 1440p pero sólo a 30 herzios. Y algunos modelos de televisores, como la gama de LG que yo uso, la reproducen pero sólo con los 60 y/o 120 herzios que transmite un HDMI 2.1 a consolas como las Series X, PS5, o un PC . Curioso y una putada, sí, en el caso de que tengas tu mClassic y tus mCables sólo con interés en usarlos con la Switch.
Es un problema "cruzado"...
Por cierto, que probé a cambiar el cable Cinema que uso con la Switch y el mClassic por el HDMI 2.1 que le puse a mi Series X....Y tampoco nada de nada. Lógico por otra parte si el "trampeo" a 1440p que le hace el mClassic a la Switch no puede beneficiarse de una mayor transmisión de herzios que es la única manera de reproducir esa resolución en la BX.
Un saludo y una pena, hay por ahí vídeos de juegos de la consola funcionando a 1440p, que son una pasada.

Honestly, I don't think you're doing anything wrong. It's called the mclassic, not the mcurrent. It's clearly best with games targeting 480p-720p.

I'm having same situation.... 55 Oled LG + Mclassic = no working. You should try to release new version, including 4k force output & HDR. As baker....ill have to buy new TV or something xD mmm Mclassic should work with 2160p?
The mClassic will upscale film and video to 4K, yes.

I've been trying for over an hour just to ask on reddit how to change to 1440p on a 4k tv and can't get a fucking word out there right now for no reason , so just PLEASE help me on how to get a Phillips 5000 Series 4k tv to 1440p in the settings . I'm more interested in forcing 30fps mode for games like breath of the wild.
Not happening,, that has todo with Harware limitations.
@@JuanDiaz-jo1rw What? Breath of the Wild renders at 30fps but the switch outputs 60fps. I refuse to believe that the mClassic hardware can't be configured to ignore every 2nd frame.
We'd actually get a 4k output that way.
@@DiminuendoBlue well you better belive it,, because that means that 1 or 2 frames wont get rendered at a higher res. Witch itll cost games to flicker between frame.. And second every retro console works and calculates FPS differently, which also means that it can brake games on other consoles. On top of that the game is not being processed through the Mclassic. The gpu and cpu of the console is doing it. All the Mclassic is doing, is cleaning the picture and upscaling it. Not taking the place of the console processing chip. The only thing in this world that can speed up games is Alienware computers that have the tower adapters. The consoles we use are not programmed to send the processing to an external gpu or cpu. So your idea wont work.

I’m perfectly aware the mClassic only provides post processing. I simply want it to correctly detect Breath of the Wilds 30fps frame rates allow the mClassic to use its 4K upscale feature
