@@mikesunboxingI have questions on the subject from a slightly different angle. I’d like to wake up the system via usb device but without the standby power after the complete shutdown of the PC. I’ve got an MSI board with a similar looking Bios. It seems that once resume on usb is enabled the power standbye is automatically enabled and the state can not be changed. Any thoughts on that?

Thank you Mike. I was looking for the setting on my Tomahawk motherboard the other week to turn my rgb mouse mat off. I was looking under power settings. Hey there. I'm not sure if it's due to MSI Bios versions as I just bought my first MSI board. But I wanted to highlight that there is an option "Settings -> Advanced -> Power Management Setup -> USB Standby Power at S4/S5" which is for exactly that. I think the "Resume By USB Device" is for USB Devices to ok be able to send a USB wake up signal to start the PC. Similar to wake on Lan I suppose.

This video was helpful for me in a slightly different way: I had already found that setting an enabled it, but it didn't seem to charge my phone. After watching this video, I thought it might have to do with that the USB slot was on the top of the case, possibly connected via a different controller and thus not recognized as a "proper" USB port by the MB. I enabled the PCI-E option on a hunch, and suddenly it seemed to work! Then I turned that other option off again, and it still worked - so either it required a few restarts to catch on, or I simply hadn't properly put in the cable, I did remove and reseat it in the meantime :D

Everyone is suggesting the same thing, but when I switch this to enabled my pc won't even turn on until I've unplugged all usbs... It's set to boot from the internal SSD and wake up by bios. I just don't understand🤣

Thanks @Mike's unboxing, reviews and how to
I did manage to get my USB-Devises having Power when my PC is turned off completely thanks to this Video!
However, I have another issue and I wonder if you might be able to help me.
I recently switched from a ASRock B450 Steel Legend over to this MSI MPG B550 Gaming Plus Board and I can't get it to turn on with a click on a Mouse-Button or any Key on my Keyboard (as it did with my ASRock Board). I think I looked everywhere in the BIOS but as it is completely different then the ASRock BIOS I might have missed the Setting.
Can you maybe help me with my Issue? And answer is greatly appreciated!
    Greetings from Germany, Uwe

might need to reinstall the chipset drivers to correct the changes in the motherboard and windows power management

@@mikesunboxing First, thanks a lot for the quick replay! 👍🏼
I'll try that but I think I already did that after installing the MSI Center Software and it told me that there are newer Drivers available - but I'll check again.
I also don't know if that can fix anything as it's a Power off State of the Board, not a Windows Standby Mode I'm having the issues with but who knows 😉
      Thanks again.

@@mikesunboxing Okay just installed the latest Drivers I could find for my B550 Chipset on the AMD Support Page, installed them and nothing changes sadly.
I wonder if it is a general B550 Chipset Issue and it's not supported at all or it is a BIOS Issue and MSI just didn't implement it on the MSI MPG B550 Gaming Plus Board?!
I can't find any Help it seem so I might have to return this Board and look for something else maybe. 😟

@@cfc3972might still get power but no data, i could be totally wrong but it was something that came to mind as those internal type c connections are so poorly keyed that mistakes can happen
