Do you have a twitch channel? It would be amazing if we can see top tier strafe stab footage live alongside with your thoughts. Recognizing the lvls will become so much easier then.
Hey Ezra, my friend and I are getting pretty deep into CS theory and your vids are so helpful! This series specifically is the perfect learning tool, we just wish it was longer than 2 episodes! Much love
Just found out about your videos and I'm trying to learn about spy since I'm new to him. What do you mean by levels in this video? Is there video guides you can direct me to learn more about it?
15:10 obviously you cant matador him with bad movement like that. you holding the s key down when you matador isnt evidence of matadors not working. you can see the medic clearly turned his back even with your bad movement. if you had been close you could have matadored.
These circle strafetards pick the very few specific instances where their matador failed due to their incompetency and use it as "proof" that matadors are useless. It's so they can promote their circle strafe sham.
Thank you for making this. I've now realised I was mis-evaluating so many level 1 players as level 4, and because the stabs looked so close to suceeding, I just assumed I clicked too early or something. I can now see there's a difference between strafing around while turning (lvl 4) and accidentally strafing around then ajusting (lvl 1).
Ezra can you make guide on how to stab spinning heavies, i mean just do matador but it suddenly doesn't work in my situations, maybe there's something in it? Also nice vid as always
16:18 Only reason you had to give up and die in that instance is because you're overcomplicating every single enemy player, trying to think about their "levels," which only wastes time. A spy who's good at intuition wouldn't need to slow down and start thinking. If you didn't fall into the circle strafing cult and instead learned to play spy properly, that wouldn't have happened.
it's not wasting any time. The reason why this video is so long in comparison to the clip is because he's explaining _everything._ Just like with any other skill, it eventually becomes intuition after enough time. What he's doing in this video is converting that intuition back into theory for the sake of explanation. Slurgi does the same.
Finally, a series on strafe stabs. Thx to you, I'll be able to take my stabbing to the next lvl. Sidenote: Do you actually think It's possible to come up with a method to consistently stab 4.2s? I mean they're constantly getting further away from you in such an extreme way.
4.2s do go to your side first, but they do not try to get to the space directly behind your back. Instead they try to keep distance while trying to get to your side or behind from a far distance. Just do your level 4 early and very wide. Use adjustments to help you secure the stab once you get close.
@rob-om4eh the levels 4.1-4.3 are movement patterns based off of the level 4 movement pattern. They act the same as a level 4 and they have a similar mindset. Level 4s always try to strafe to avoid you and they prefer to stay behind your back. The different 4.1-4.3 levels strafe to avoid you, but they prefer to be in different locations in relation to you. For example, a 4.1 will want to stay in front of you roughly and a 4.2 prefers to be by your side instead of your back.
Ezra, I'm thinking of sending a clip. However, I have 3 questions: 1- How long should the clip be? 2-Can I upload multiple clips? 3-Should I have the clips in third or in first person? And also 2 concerns: 1 - My PC is shit and It struggles running TF2 so I don't know how to record a clip without my frames dropping to 0 2- I am shit, I only have 300 hrs of Spy playtime, my strafestabbing is average at best and recognition is just nonexistant. I'll try my best tho, I have a lot of free time to record a lot of clips and maybe in one of them CRD will bless me and I'll manage to pull off something worth analyzing. Wish me luck!
1. Send anything you want me to analyze 2. Yes 3. Doesn't matter Send in demo files instead and I can render them on my own computer as long as you have the ticks where I should start and finish recording. That way I can record everything on a better computer at ultra graphics.
@@EzraTF2 What do you consider a clip worth sending to be shown and analyzed infront of hundreds of people? I've got like 30 demo files stored up and idk what I should send and what not. Like, in a regular pub match I only manage to pull off 1-5 mediocre strafe stabs and I'm never able to reach the fragging that is seen in your clip. Most of the demos consist of me shooting, running around cloaked, dying & spectating other players, backstabbing normally and not really a lot of strafe stabbing, also stabs I manage to pull off are super far inbetween one another, I get 1 strafe stab every 2 or 3 lives. What should I do? Am I just not good enough yet? Why are you not just using other top spy mains' footage? Tell me because I want to help develop this niche community of strafe stabbing.
@@dfuzesavetf2147 Any successful stabs, any failed stab that confuses you or just any random spy game play clip that you want to share and you think relates to strafe stabbing. You don't need to send in your best clips; just any clip.
Absolutely love this video! After rewatching your videos multiple times I can confidently pull off c strafe stabs against friends in duels, now the only problem i have is actually implementing it in my normal gameplay lol. Nevertheless, good stuff
I don't think you'd ever stumble into too many level 2s from far away. Perhaps they're on another level and you're mistaking them for level 2. Just get to them the same way you'd approach a level 3, hold out your gun first. If they see a spy with a knife, they'll back away. They won't try to avoid stabs if they see you have a gun out. Trick them into walking closer to you.
Take the inside of the strafe so that you have less distance to travel, but he has to circle all the way around. That, or you can force him against a wall and fight for a backpedal stab. I'll talk about turning the strafe in future videos.
How's my sniper gameplay? Thinking about showing off some of my skills on other classes as well. Just as filler video, of course. I still main spy 8)
absolutely amazing!
Just as good as your spy gameplay imo
"I still main sPy"
Says the guy that has more hours on Pyro
@@Salak0924 I only have like 700-1000 on Pyro but 1500+ on spy.
@@EzraTF2 Ohhh really? Then why did your video called "Pissing off a furry in TF2" was made for?
tfw you are featured in your own video
LOL yeah, I wanted a structured series and I wanted to feature other spies. Maybe you should send a clip in, jay. Your name could be in the title.
O__O maybe i will

your intuition was 100% correct in doing a matador but you paniced out and retreated before finishing the stab

Question for my circle strafes when doing backpedals and glue, I always die before I get to the enemy and end up failing the glue and backpedal
This is the exact thing I've been trying yo find on RUclips please please make more
what's your hud in the video?
if you have any reccomendation of good huds to increase fps and reduce lag I would appreciate it

There's no tutorial to this.I had the same problem too. Play Spy more and you'll be able to do it from experience

You can take advantage of the client side and ping, this normally cause facestabs and if they move exagerated try to front stab them

Wow Fortnite epic moments!
I dig all the explanation even from just a casual match, do you think you can do a slovam stab tutorial next😁
It's definitely on the list of things for me to work on soon
